Apply the style of Pará to the xml element based on the type of master page?

IM using a flow xml, im importing the xml to be used across different master page templates and I want to apply paragraph styles different items depending on what master page xml, they are on...

So I have 3 put templates in place

Type of page 1

Type of page 2

Type of page 3

and 3 paragraph styles

style 1

style 2

style 3

I have the same xml structure deposited on each page...

< Entry >

< name > Page < / name >

< / name >

So, can I use javascript to apply the paragraph (style 1) style to the xml element (name) on any page that uses the master page (type of Page 1)

Is this possible? whether and how this could be done?

Thanks in advance

Hello

Try:

#include '... / XML rules/glue code.jsx ";

myDoc var = app.documents.item (0);

var myRuleSet = new Array (new applyParaStyle());

{with (MyDoc)}

var elements = xmlElements;

__processRuleSet (Elements.Item (0), myRuleSet);

}

function applyParaStyle() {}

myIdName = "Xp".

This.XPath = "//restaurant_name";

This.Apply = function (myElement, myRuleProcessor) {}

{with (MyElement)}

{Switch(insertionPoints[0].parentTextFrames[0].) ParentPage.appliedMaster.Name)}

case "X-Master:

App.Select (texts);

App.Selection [0]. FillColor = myDoc.colors.item ("xxxx");

break;

case 'guide-Scotland:

App.Select (texts);

App.Selection [0]. FillColor = myDoc.colors.item ("scotland");

by default:

break;

}

}

Returns true;

}

  • Help: apply different styles of Pará to several consecutive paragraphs using the script

    Hi all

    I need to apply different styles of Pará to several consecutive paragraphs using the script, something like this (found somewhere on the net):

    myDoc = app.documents var [0];

    mySel var = app.selection [0];

    var myPStyle1 = "A";

    var myPStyle2 = 'B ';.

    you need to add 6 styles here:

    var myPStyle3 = 'C ';

    var myPStyle4 = "D";

    var myPStyle5 = 'E ';

    var myPStyle6 = 'F';

    var myPStyle7 = "G";

    var myPStyle8 = 'H ';

    the last style is not necessary in the script?

    apply style 1 paragraph 1

    mySel.appliedParagraphStyle = myDoc.paragraphStyles.item (myPStyle1);

    apply styles to the paragraphs after selection

    style 2

    mySel.paragraphs [-1] .insertionPoints [-1] .appliedParagraphStyle = myDoc.paragraphStyles.item (myPStyle2);

    next style

    mySel.paragraphs [-1] .insertionPoints [-1] .paragraphs [0] .insertionPoints [-1] .appliedParagrap hStyle = .nextStyle myDoc.paragraphStyles.item (myPStyle2);

    I tried a lot, but could not find the way to extend the sequence

    Sorry, no skills in the scripts still...

    all styles have "Next Style" option enabled, but I can't use ' apply style, then next style "or object styles, because I need four different sequences of these paragraph styles:

    A-B-C-D-E-F-G-H

    A-B-D-E-G-H

    A-C-D-F-G-H

    A-D-G-H

    and I don't really want to create special clones of the same style for each sequence (Keep It Simple, they say ).

    I think that this can be done through four slightly adjusted scripts...

    any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

    Sorry to be late to the party, I usually take up such things immediately.

    How about this one?

    1. no separate necessary script, it uses a small dialog box where you can choose what style to use. If I'm not mistaken, you can press a digit key on Windows to immediately select one of the items.

    2. it works down in the paragraph in that your cursor is located. It has nothing to do with the blocks of text, even if - consecutive paragraphs within a story always ignore the text frames.

    3. extensible: you can easily change the names of the styles in the table at the top of the page and the number of groups of style in the list.

    var styleLists = [
              [ "A", "B", "C", "D", "E", "F", "G", "H" ],
              [ "A", "B", "D", "E", "G", "H" ],
              [ "A", "C", "D", "F", "G", "H" ],
              [ "A", "D", "G", "H" ]
    ];

    var radiobutts = [];

    styleDialog = app.dialogs.add ({name:"Set Multiple Styles",canCancel:true});
    with (styleDialog)
    {
              with (dialogColumns.add())
              {
                        with (radiobuttonGroups.add())
                        {

  • Apply the template to a page already created

    Is there a good way to apply a template, once a page has been created?

    I did several times, changing the source code of the page, but when it has link which may cause problems.

    What is your recommendation?

    Hello

    create a temperory page by using the template and use it to manually apply to your existing page...
    Copy the template binding to the temperory page def to your homepage.
    wrap the content inside the af: pageTemplate temperory page.

  • How to apply the model to multiple pages at once?

    My site has about 4000 pages, I want to apply the template to all existing pages at once. Is there a procedure of application of the model to multiple pages.

    Please suggest me.

    I had the same problem and although it is a very old thread, I would like to share my solution with those who find this via google, too (like me):

    Follow these steps:

    1. Open the files in a text like Sublime edtor (impossible in Dreamweaver when the model area is locked).
    2. Use the "Find and replace" to replace each text with the name of the new-model .dwt .dwt in open files.
    3. Save files.
    4. Inside Dreamweaver go to 'Edit' > 'Models' > 'update Pages. In the dialog box, select "Find in files" and choose the name of the former model and click on 'start '.
      If there are areas of the unequal model, there will be one or more dialog boxes where you can select how DW must correspond to these regions (for all files).

  • With the help of Master pages and blocks of text

    Hello

    I created a text frame on a master page and you have specified a style

    Can I add my custom text on the text block by pressing ctrl + Maj + text block.

    If I change the style, it applies to all pages.  But if I move or resize the text block on the page master it does not apply to all pages because it has become its own layer on this page.

    What do you do before you can change the text block and the master page and still be able to add your own content in pages that depend on the master page.

    Thanks a lot for your help

    Why do you need to replace the title of the page?

    Use either a text variable, a section marker or create another master page based on this master page with a different text in the placeholder. Only the content will appear on the pages, everything else, like running headers or page numbers or artifacts have a place on the master page without replacing them.

    When you later create accessible PDF or EPUB this difference is important. You can read high voice content in Acrobat for accessibility, that text on the page, not the master is used for this, and when you export an EPUB page only elements, not the master are included as it should.

    If you need text to expand, when something changes, create your page with margins and borders that will help to make changes later.

  • Add the Document-specific master page

    I hope simple and fast .

    To add a new page to a document is a coating of a simple:

    app.activeDocument.pages.add ();

    ... but is there a way to change this option to specify a master page to add the document?

    Thanks for any help, Bren

    To add a master spread:

    app.activeDocument.masterSpreads.add ();

    But what do you mean by "add a master page that is specific to a document? Maybe add a page and apply a master? In this case:

    app.activeDocument.pages.add ({appliedMaster: app.activeDocument.masterSpreads.item('B-Master')});

  • can I change the indents on Master Page without changing the text on the pages already finished?

    Hello

    With the help of experts on this forum, I corrected some problems of dash/tab on my two Master Pages.

    Here's the thing, though - it screwed up the four pages that I already created (and then manually set): the text in the placeholder on the top right text that I had already added to these pages and did other things also.

    I need to create Master Pages to use for all new pages I create in the future?  Or is it possible to set a Master Page and then tell InDesign to apply these changes to the new page I create, but to leave alone the pages already created?

    Thank you, Malcolm

    If the pages need to be different, you can create a new master page for each of these appearances. Conversely, if it's just a one-time deviation from the master, you could click the document page and choose replace all elements of Master Page in the Pages panel menu. The duplicate text boxes that you see is because you have redone the master to the pages of the document. This could be avoided by setting the text frame on the Master Page as a main text block. • Violation of State protection session during the creation of master page / retail

    I am trying to create a new master page / detail in Apex 5.0, and at the end of the dialog box, I get this error message:

    Session state protection violation: this can be caused by manually editing the protected page P24_MASTER_PAGE_MODE point. If you don't know what caused this error, contact the administrator of the application for assistance.

    [I am the administrator of the application, and I have not the slightest idea either.]

    The error occurs when I click Next in the dialog Page attributes. The error also occurs in other applications in the same workspace. So I don't think it's important, but I replace the default detail Page number. (The default number of Master Page is grayed out.) In addition, the dialog box layout I had selected... in a table on the same page. I've also specified no master navigation and no reports of master.

    Following archived discussion of v4.1.1, Session State protection violation, I modified a diagnostic query and run the following in my diagram:

    Select item_id, nom_element page_id, region of apex_application_page_items where nom_element = ' P24_MASTER_PAGE_MODE'

    I'm not abreast of any application in my workspace with a Page 24 and sure enough, this query returns no data found. Please take note of this before suggesting to change the attributes of the element. I don't know where the item is and not only the database, apparently. Apex seems to think there is - but where?

    Since an earlier discussion which went nowhere, I crushed my most recent request for export file, but that has not solved the problem. I also went into my workspace apex.oracle and created a form master / detail without error.

    Thanks for your help!

    Obfuscation Express.

    Worsening Express.

    Apex, the product you hate to love.

    It turns out that the dialog box create a Master Page / detail has a Mode option of the Page on modal Page attributes page. I'd be willing to bet, this option is not P24_MASTER_PAGE_MODE. (There is also one for the details of page: P24_DETAIL_PAGE_MODE?) But it has the Normal and gray value.

    It is also now a Select list after my dose; I think it was a type item view only before the fix, which only confirms my thought. I was wondering, which could affect, or enable or disable the modification of the attributes of session state for that element. Model and its theme came to mind, and I remember that I had tried to understand something on a model in the last days, had made a change and tried to cancel it.

    To no avail, apparently.

    Thus, a little more explore new territory, trying to find the modified model and could not. But I read that templates are collected into themes, and I found that I could renumber 26 theme in the application (926). Then make a theme create, from the repository, changing from standard to all themes, click theme 26. Then it was switching themes and rematching models and remove the renumbered theme 926.

    Voila! I can now create a master page / detail without report master!

    Thanks for all the help, with particular satisfaction for Pranav.shah, who was on the train right but don't know which track to take.

  • Sidehead: stand on the L/R master pages but not the other master pages

    Hello!

    I struggled tonight all and can't seem to make it work. I wish I had room for a sidehead on my L/R pages in my document face page but I would like to than my master 'first Page of chapter' page for not having a sidehead: I would like to than the text on this one page to span the entire width of the text block.

    When I try to put in place, however, the first page of the chapter has the sidehead, even if it does appear its text block to have a sidehead when I discover its master page.

    What is strange, is that the area of sidehead of master page isn't even the same size as the sidehead who appeared on the pages of L/R, it is much wider.

    Can someone tell me the process for allowing no room for a sidehead on the first page of the chapter (with the master page from "First Page of the chapter"), but after sideheads on the following pages belong to L/R master pages?

    Thank you very much!

    Sideheads are a feature of document, i.e. the entire document level either has them or not, put on the page are not only specific.

    To get the first page view not the sideheads, you probably use paratags which are defined to cover all of the columns and the sideheads, tags that is customized for the first page only.

  • Apply the model to multiple pages

    I change the navigation bar on the Web site of the company of some of the static links to a drop down menu DHTML (link to the external JS file in the HEAD, a href in the BODY section). Apart from the menu and some content in the header/footer, nothing else in the pages change. I am aware of how to apply a template to one page, but searching the Internet didn't have a way to automate the process of task or batch, if you want to apply to all pages in a site. There are more than 1800 pages, therefore apply to all pages manually would be extremely tedious...

    Is there a way to batch?

    Thank you.

    You use templates on a site that big?

    There is no batch processing method to apply a template to a page group. He
    couldn't be, since you need to specify what content goes in which
    editable area.

    I usually recommend no more than 100 pages for models. Anyway, you
    should be use server-side features of this navigation feature...

  • See the color of master pages as white as PDF

    Hello, I put the pages in my document as black and type in white, but when you export as PDF X 3 / 2002, I just get blank white pages. Any ideas please? Thanks, Marcus

    The swatch 'Paper' is just to give you a visual clue while composing your document. It does not print. If you want the black pages, put a box filled with black on your mask. Set up a new shade for that (0, 0, 0, 100), because the default black is overprinted.

  • Script will not apply the paragraph style

    Hello

    I'm new to scripting in InDesign (CS3), and I'm trying to understand why the scipt below does not apply a style in the following text file? :

    < ASCII-WIN >

    < ParaStyle: Heading 1 > who are we? < ParaStyle >:

    For ease of reading, I have shortend the text file to just two lines.

    The script that I use to open and to format the text file is:

    Create a new document.

    myDocument var = app.documents.add ();

    Set the units of measure and the origin of the rule.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey, Ron.

    The problem has nothing to do with your script. You can see if you attempt to place the file from indesign tagged text by hand.

    Your instinct for divide and conquer for debugging is a good - have a short text file to work with is very useful - of course this is also true for the script.

    During the validation of the scripts on the forum, please do not use the syntax insert > feature Java which lies behind the > arrow in the toolbar. Otherwise, cut and paste your script are difficult requiring manual corrections.

    Anyway, your problem is that each paragraph can have only a single paragraph style, and it's the last one that you define.

    So in your IDTT file, you set the heading 1 paragraph style, enter the content of the paragraph and then set the style of paragraph votes to zero.

    If you have included a line break before setting the style of paragraph votes to zero, you must set the None style for the following paragraph. But since you have not, it resets just the style to the current paragraph.

    In short: success back before .

  • Check for the existing XML element

    Hi all

    I'm writing a simple script first check if an XML element exists and creating so if it's not. I tried to change a piece of code that I used previously to do the same for paragraph styles, but apparently it's not that simple. Currently, all I get is the error "Unable to run the script in the 'main' target engine!" Without checking them, adding the XML element based on the result of the search works very well.

    /* Find all instances of the word "Superscript" */
    app.findTextPreferences.findWhat = "Superscript";
    var mySuperscript = myDocument.findText(); // Save search result for future reference

    /* See if an XML element named "Superscript" already exists, and create it if that's not the case; then add it to all instances of the word "Superscript" */
    var myXMLElementSuper = myDocument.xmlElements.item("Superscript");
    try {
    var myName = myXMLElementSuper.name;
    }
    catch (myError){
        var myXMLElementSuper = myDocument.xmlElements.add({markupTag:"Superscript", xmlContent:mySuperscript[i]});}

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Regards and thanks in advance.

    Julian

    The myDocument.xmlElements always has a single element - the root element.

    If you want your element directly below that, you have to work a level down.

    To try-catch for such situations regular aid is bad because you spend so usually the ESTK option stop on exceptions and real problems don't miss. Use the isValid property.

    var rootXE = myDocument.xmlElements.item(0);
    var superXE = rootXE.xmlElements.itemByName("Superscript");
    if( !superXE.isValid )
      superXE = rootXE.xmlElements.add(...
    else
     superXE = superXE.getElements()[0]; // take first of potentially multiple elements
