The first thing to do, which is perhaps not trivial, is to configure your terminal correctly in Arab support. Only after you have successfully set up the base in Arab support with one of the Arabic character sets (must use the logical order, i.e. AR8MSWIN1256, AR8ISO8859P6 or AL32UTF8), you must configure the Oracle (NLS_LANG) Client to match the configuration of the Terminal.

  • When I type in my Thunderbird email all characters are displayed correctly, but in Firefox characters are displayed incorrectly.

    When I type in my Thunderbird email all the characters appear correctly. When I type in a web site using Firefox or Chrome the characters are displayed incorrectly. For example: I'm going to type the same thing here. It will come out like this or a Variant: 456 7890-= qwe rtyu. If I do the same thing again it will be: [IOPS] as dia jkl;' ' \zx. What is going on? Bye the way I had to type this in Thunderbird and copy and paste into this web site. Also, if I type in MS Word or Excel, all is good. The problem is on the web sites.

  • Fonts in the graphics displayed as question marks

    If I find a graph in Safari (latest version), the text appears as question marks. The same page in Firefox displays very well. The problem appears only when a section of the page is viewed using flash player.

    For example adobe Adobe - Flash Player page like this;

    Screen Shot 2015-11-17 at 10.29.00 PM.png

    I'm using a new iMac running OS 10.11.2. Also, I have the latest version of the flash player and restarting the machine after the updates.

    If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.

    Thank you

    Third-party browsers generally have their own subsystems of fonts.  Safari is tightly integrated with the operating system.  When you use a third-party utility to change the behavior of the functioning of the policies at the level of the BONE, you end up with a secondary effect in Safari.

    You can try fora them of Safari and/or the support site of your font manager, but browsers to switch or remove the font manager are probably more simple options.  We simply make applications to the browser and are dependent on what offers Safari, so we have no control over the outcome in this scenario.

    Normally, the E indicates an empty box. This only happens in PowerPoint? You can try to uninstall and reinstall your printer.

  • all high ascii characters are displayed incorrectly

    Hello

    I upgraded to xp sp3, 3 days ago, and there were a few new updates since then.

    In the course of the last 12 hours, my system has developed the following problem.

    In my editor, I type in a character alt-144 and I see tank 201; I type alt 131 and I see tank 159.
    If I type alt - 201 I see character 144. If I now go into Notepad or Skype and type alt - 144 144 character, but if I then look at this document in a hex editor, I see that this isn't character 144 but character 201?

    In other words, a part of the windows is his replacement & and/or display the incorrect character for the ascii value wrong.

    What I can do, or how can I fix this... the system is adjusted upward for STD US English.

    It is alt-144 E, which is a capital E with a focus... it looks like a E with an accent... but when copied to a .txt file, and read in a hex editor it has 201 ascii value.

    Thanks in advance

    actually, I think I found the problem.

    It's to do with the table unicode... If I type alt - nnn windows takes this character in the ascii table and maps for the character in the unicode table and so also changes its ascii value.

    However, if I type alt-0nnn I get the unicode character to position nnn.

    No none of this is a problem in windows until you are cross-compiling, in which case the ascii value is paramount.

    So NEW question... How can I make windows use the ANSI, ascii table rather than the unicode table?

  • Chinese and Japanese characters are displayed incorrectly in Windows 8.

    All Chinese and Japanese characters SOMETIMES appear as squares. He sometimes corrected after I rebooted the system.

    I already changed the language of non-unicode as a Chinese (simplified, China) in the region > administrative.
    The display for my operating system language is English.
    I heard people say that it will work if I change my Format and location of Chinese/China. I don't want to do that because then my time format is displayed also as Chinese.
    These combinations of setting working in Win 7.
    Original title: display of Japanese and Chinese characters as squares

    not sure on the display of Chinese and Japanese, but for just Japanese I found that switching language for non-unicode in Japanese once then back to English (for occasional applications that are not displayed good language) works to display Japanese characters correctly in windows Explorer

  • BEEP in Oracle EBS R12.1 - characters in question marks

    Hello

    We have recently upgraded to EBS 12.1.1 and have noticed that since doing so, outputs of some characters in PDF format (from BEEP reports run in EBS) are displayed as question marks.

    Models are created by using the Arial font, and the characters that are not displayed are "long dashes" "-" (being) and where Microsoft Word group three openings of the diaphragm together «...» "(\'85)

    For example, the text in Word format and in the PDF file when run using Oracle BI Publisher Desktop is:

    Three openings of the diaphragm...
    A long terms-
    Short a dash-

    However, the output in PDF format when you run the report in EBS is:

    Three openings of the diaphragm?
    A long line?
    Short a dash-

    Has anyone previously met, or nobody knows how to solve. I tried downloading a file of font Arial and creation of maps (although Arial is already under a seeded font file), but this has not solved the problem.

    Hello

    Check if you have all the necessary fonts under your jre/lib/fonts ($AF_JRE_TOP and $OA_JRE_TOP) on all of your nodes and web simultaneously. Or, try to copy the fonts from $FND_TOP/resource (check post install steps for XMLP 5.6.3). Rebound of mid-range necessary after copy.

    I hope this helps.

  • Why the arrows converted to question marks?

    I've created a chart in Excel that contains several arrows. When I create a PDF file, all the arrows that are converted into question marks. Why? How can I fix?

    I use Adobe Acrobat 5.0, Adobe Reader X, Windows XP on a Dell Vostro 1510. In addition, the arrows were created in Excel by clicking on "Insert", then "symbol" with the Ariel font selected.

    Thank you very much for your help!

    I write to the list where others might have a clue. However, it may be that the differences are related to the fact that to create a PDF with AA5 on this Windows machine, I must print to file and then use Distiller. You are able to print directly to the printer. You could try the copy of file, and then open the file in Distiller to see if you get the same result. I just printed directly as PDF on AA5 of Open office and got the same result, so I don't know what you have different. Here are the screenshots:

    ---------------------

    Your metadata:

    ---------------------

    My metadata:

    ---------------------

    There are two different printers (I deleted the PDFWriter to my AA5 installations. I just make an impression to the Acrobat Distiller and PDF Writer for AA4 printer. The PDF writer gave results similar to yours (actually Acrobat PDFWriter 5.0) and the printer AD worked well. It was long since I have dealt with this issue, I had forgotten the problems. The line at the bottom is not use PDF Writer, but use the Acrobat Distiller printer. The problems that you are experiencing is one of the many reasons why Adobe PDF Writer with AA6 distribution quit. AA5, it was only available for a custom installation. Embed fonts, has been one of the major problems with PDF Writer.

    Recommendation: Print on the Acrobat Distiller printer and ignore in the future the PDFWriter. Go to start > printers and right click the ad to reach Printer preferences. You may need to go to a second layer of general tab menu, but you should be able to find the settings tab. Then select print settings by default so that all fonts are embedded. This should solve your problem. Sorry it took so long to remember about PDFWriter.

  • Characters such as apostrophes and the french quotes turn into boxes or question marks

    We recently upgraded from CF5 to CF7 and encounter a problem with the previously saved text more correctly displayed. Some characters (apparently, non-ASCII characters as curly apostrophes and quotation marks) are made in the form of boxes or question marks. We have recently upgraded to Oracle 10 g to Oracle 8i, but this problem appears to be independent of the database stored in the text. Some examples of code that illustrates the problem:

    < CFSET string1 = 'Department' >
    < CFSET string2 = "' Hey - it" > "

    < CFOUTPUT >
    string1 is #string1 #.
    < BR >
    string2 is #string2 #.
    < / CFOUTPUT >

    output looks like this:

    string1 is Department? s
    string2 is good? He

    These are rendered as boxes seen in Internet Explorer. (They appear as question marks when I copy and paste here.)

    The UDF Demoronize helps to * some * of the time, but it's past still with lots of text, in particular the text that gets pasted from a Web site into a form, and then saved in a database. Does anyone have a solution for this? It is breaking my apps and incredibly annoying. I would like to either replace the problematic characters by the time they are displayed, or the replacement when they are entered into the database first place (and go back and update all previously recorded data to replace problematic characters with plain text equivalents).

    Any suggestion is appreciated.

    Finally, I've isolated the problematic characters so I edited the UDF (available at cflib.org) DeMoronize by adding replacements following text at the bottom:

    text = Replace (text, chr (8208), "-", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8209), "-", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8210), "-", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8211), "-", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8212), "-", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8213), "-", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8214), "|", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8215), "_", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8216), "'", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8217), "'", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8218), ",", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8219), "'", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8220), "" "," ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8221), "" "," ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8222), "" "," ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8223), "" "," ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8226), "·", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8227), ">", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8228), ".", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8229), "..", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8230), "...", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8231), "·", "ALL");
