  • BEEP in Oracle EBS R12.1 - characters in question marks

    Hello

    We have recently upgraded to EBS 12.1.1 and have noticed that since doing so, outputs of some characters in PDF format (from BEEP reports run in EBS) are displayed as question marks.

    Models are created by using the Arial font, and the characters that are not displayed are "long dashes" "-" (being) and where Microsoft Word group three openings of the diaphragm together «...» "(\'85)

    For example, the text in Word format and in the PDF file when run using Oracle BI Publisher Desktop is:

    Three openings of the diaphragm...
    A long terms-
    Short a dash-

    However, the output in PDF format when you run the report in EBS is:

    Three openings of the diaphragm?
    A long line?
    Short a dash-

    Has anyone previously met, or nobody knows how to solve. I tried downloading a file of font Arial and creation of maps (although Arial is already under a seeded font file), but this has not solved the problem.

    Hello

    Check if you have all the necessary fonts under your jre/lib/fonts ($AF_JRE_TOP and $OA_JRE_TOP) on all of your nodes and web simultaneously. Or, try to copy the fonts from $FND_TOP/resource (check post install steps for XMLP 5.6.3). Rebound of mid-range necessary after copy.

    I hope this helps.

    The first thing to do, which is perhaps not trivial, is to configure your terminal correctly in Arab support. Only after you have successfully set up the base in Arab support with one of the Arabic character sets (must use the logical order, i.e. AR8MSWIN1256, AR8ISO8859P6 or AL32UTF8), you must configure the Oracle (NLS_LANG) Client to match the configuration of the Terminal.

  • displayed in the form of Arabic characters? after import

    Hello

    I did a full database export of base 8.0.6.0 and imported in 10.2.0.4 (with less than 10g parameter NLS). All the Arabic characters in 10g are shown as "?", but when I type and save the Arabic characters, they are displayed correctly. Where would be the problem. NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET is irrelevant if you keep your Arab data in N [VAR] CHAR columns. In addition, AL16UTF16 supports Arabic, and there is no need to change. Please, ignore the advice of Fran. However, the advice of Srini. The journal will tell what could have gone wrong. The most likely is that the 8.0.6 export was done without NLS_LANG value. AR8MSWIN1256. In this case, you will need to NLS_LANG well-positioned and re-export. Keep the NLS_LANG value. AR8MSWIN1256 when importing as well.

  • Characters such as apostrophes and the french quotes turn into boxes or question marks

    We recently upgraded from CF5 to CF7 and encounter a problem with the previously saved text more correctly displayed. Some characters (apparently, non-ASCII characters as curly apostrophes and quotation marks) are made in the form of boxes or question marks. We have recently upgraded to Oracle 10 g to Oracle 8i, but this problem appears to be independent of the database stored in the text. Some examples of code that illustrates the problem:

    < CFSET string1 = 'Department' >
    < CFSET string2 = "' Hey - it" > "

    < CFOUTPUT >
    string1 is #string1 #.
    < BR >
    string2 is #string2 #.
    < / CFOUTPUT >

    output looks like this:

    string1 is Department? s
    string2 is good? He

    These are rendered as boxes seen in Internet Explorer. (They appear as question marks when I copy and paste here.)

    The UDF Demoronize helps to * some * of the time, but it's past still with lots of text, in particular the text that gets pasted from a Web site into a form, and then saved in a database. Does anyone have a solution for this? It is breaking my apps and incredibly annoying. I would like to either replace the problematic characters by the time they are displayed, or the replacement when they are entered into the database first place (and go back and update all previously recorded data to replace problematic characters with plain text equivalents).

    Any suggestion is appreciated.

    Finally, I've isolated the problematic characters so I edited the UDF (available at cflib.org) DeMoronize by adding replacements following text at the bottom:

    text = Replace (text, chr (8208), "-", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8209), "-", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8210), "-", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8211), "-", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8212), "-", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8213), "-", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8214), "|", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8215), "_", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8216), "'", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8217), "'", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8218), ",", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8219), "'", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8220), "" "," ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8221), "" "," ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8222), "" "," ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8223), "" "," ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8226), "·", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8227), ">", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8228), ".", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8229), "..", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8230), "...", "ALL");
    text = Replace (text, chr (8231), "·", "ALL");

  • Banners are not displayed on a Web site. I have a question mark instead. Only since I updated to firefox 5 10 minutes ago. Any ideas?

    I see two banners and they are not blocked (they are legitimate)

    I see the question mark now you are referring to, in IE is see
    [As] like [f] 12. Join to see what your friends like.

    Which is something to do with FaceBook. Appears in IE9, Google Chrome, Safari, all show the Facebook thing. Opera fails big time, nothing but a big button repeated (>) with an arrow.

    Maybe the CSS code.

    And I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit

    HI, because you have not installed Japanese language for your windows, so the text are corrupt, may not display correctly.

    Solution:
    1. Go and get the Japanese for Windows 7 language packhttp://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/downloads/languages
    2. Install it and then restart.
    3. OK, the problem is resolved.

  • Fonts in the graphics displayed as question marks

    If I find a graph in Safari (latest version), the text appears as question marks. The same page in Firefox displays very well. The problem appears only when a section of the page is viewed using flash player.

    For example adobe Adobe - Flash Player page like this;

    Screen Shot 2015-11-17 at 10.29.00 PM.png

    I'm using a new iMac running OS 10.11.2. Also, I have the latest version of the flash player and restarting the machine after the updates.

    If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.

    Thank you

    Third-party browsers generally have their own subsystems of fonts.  Safari is tightly integrated with the operating system.  When you use a third-party utility to change the behavior of the functioning of the policies at the level of the BONE, you end up with a secondary effect in Safari.

    You can try fora them of Safari and/or the support site of your font manager, but browsers to switch or remove the font manager are probably more simple options.  We simply make applications to the browser and are dependent on what offers Safari, so we have no control over the outcome in this scenario.

  • Japanese language that appear as question marks?

    Hello! I have a problem, where some of the things I look for or registered now appears as a question mark (?). I think I might have accidentally deleted something in the font book, this is why it appears this way. Please could someone help me?

    Here's a screenshot of what it looks like on my bookmarks bar:

    This is a site for a site written in Japanese. The site is displayed correctly with Japanese characters, but the Favorites bar will appear with the [?], the title of the Japanese Web site.

  • Adobe Arabic do not call the final form of the Arabic text?

    Hello

    I'm creating a journal that is mostly in English, but has an article in Arabic. I use InDesign CS5.5ME and uses Adobe Arabic for the Arabic text 2.006.

    I have a situation in which it appears that InDesign reads a diacritical mark in the middle of a Word as an indication that the word has come to an end.

    In the screenshot below, you can see that the heh ending at each of these four words is preceded by a dal with one or two diacritics. It seems that the diacritics speaker causes InDesign to assume the word is finished, and it is affecting the heh using its isolated form. What my editor tells me, it's the heh must be set using its final form.

    Screen Shot 2013-07-08 at 4.42.08 PM.png

    When I change the police for another font with Arabic characters - say X Davat or Times New Roman - the heh correctly takes its final form.

    This leads me to believe that some police - perhaps connected to the diacritic - statement is incorrect. In InDesign settings appear to be correct (otherwise, the problem would appear in other fonts, too). Can anyone else reproduce this problem? Does anyone know if Adobe Arabic 2007 solves this problem (assuming it's a bug)?

    Thanks for any help.

    Thanks for your help, Miguel.

    For anyone who has followed this thread, Miguel helped me discover that InDesign was load an earlier version of the police. While I thought that I had loaded v2.006, I actually had not, so InDesign 'found' a version and that in its place. I'm still trying to understand loading where the old version, but now, when I'm sure I have loaded version 2.006, InDesign built correctly the words using the correct characters.

    To find out which version of the police has been actually used in my paper, I opened the find font dialog box and clicked on the button more than information - a feature that I had forgotten in the past, but will rely on a lot from that time.

  • Display of the only questions the answer is Yes or n/a

    Good day all.

    Asked me to see if I can get to a form has about 40 questions in 2 distinct sections. The form owner wish not only to display the form but also have the ability to only see questions marked with "Yes" or "No" or "n/a". The three options would be available in a menu drop-down.

    I hope that I've explained this well enough

    Chomp

    Hi Chomp,

    You can achieve this goal, espicially the form was set to Flowed.

    It would be easier if these questions were only drop-down menus on the form. You would basically be to browse the content of the form for any objects with a className of field AND a ui.oneOfChild.className of choiceList. Then test the value of this object, if it's Yes, no or n/a, then change the presence.

    The LockAllFields is a good example of a loop through the content of the form. http://assure.ly/yDtfsM.
