  In my tests, there is no way to keep the backlight on other than to call the method Baclight.enable (time, true) every seconds of time.   Have you tried to activate 'Screen brightness Lock' for the application Acrobat DC?

  For Acrobat DC for Android, the option is available in the app.  The action menu, and select settings > brightness screen lock.

  

  For Acrobat DC for iOS, the option is available in the iOS settings screen.  Go to settings > Adobe Acrobat and choose lock screen brightness.

  

  The option prevents the screen from dimming/turning off when Acrobat DC is running in the foreground, which in turn prevents your locking device.

  Open windows control panel, open personalization, click on the link to screensaver at the bottom right and in the next window, set the time in the area of 'Wait' for once you want before the screen saver appears, and click on apply.   Or better yet, export as PDF and print from Acrobat.

  When you subscribe, you rent the right to use the software. When you stop subscribing, you lose the right to use the software. No matter how many time you subscribe to: when you stop paying, the software stops working.

  On the plus side, as a Subscriber, you always have access to the latest versions of the software. Now yes, no, providing you have the material adequate and functioning of systems (Windows 7, Windows 8 or Mac OS X 10.7 +), you have access to 2014 CC and CC.

  Looks like you did not take advantage of that and you're still using CS6.
