Area of irregular shape

Hello

Is there anything that it is integrated into Illustrator CC or a plug-in, that will tell me the area of irregular shape?

KBatKP,

I wonder if it is included in the Document Info somewhere, or if the old debug window is still usable with Cmd-Shift-Option-F12/Ctrl-Alt-Shift-F12. On Mac keyboards later when the volume button is also on the F12 key, you may need to hold down the fn key at the same time.

Telegraphics PathArea free filter does not seem to work until CS6, but you can try and see:

  • Help with movement of sprite forced on the edge of an irregular shape of bitmap or vector.

    Hello

I need to be able to restrict the movement of a "wheel" along the edge of an irregular bitmap or vector shape. In addition, as the "wheel" moves along the way, it should return the length of the path travelled in pixels.

What it is for is to demonstrate the extent of what is called the "range of vision." The process involves moving two rods share sighting until the lower part of one is no longer visible on the other, then running a wheel odometer along the road alignment irregular to measure the distance of moving real between the two rods.

I was able to complete the first part of the present, with two rods connected by a "visibility" moved out on an irregular shape vector until the distance of visibility becomes invisible. And it returns the distance the two stems are separated by, feet, using 1 pixel = 1 foot. A segment of this film is reproduced below. The wheel should run on the gray slopes after the Red sight line disappears as it is moved over the Hill.

Of course, the wheel on the edge of the irregular shape and the actual distance of the way back in pixels are the hardest part of this. I remember James Newton and others had developed several methods to constrain the movement of a sprite on the edge of another form. But I could not find these behaviors. In addition, I know calculate the distance travelled by the wheel is going to be a bit complicated, as I suspect, it will need to calculate the hypotenuse of several rise and run triangles, with new triangles added when changing the direction of the irregular surface.

Can anyone offer help at least getting the traffic restricted to a sprite("wheel") along the edge of the shape bitmap or vector?

    Thanks in advance.

How irregular is your form is going to be? If it's just a series of triangles, then it should be simple. If you know in advance what triangles are going to be, then it is even simpler.

  • How to create a component with an irregular shape?

Components such as button have a rectangle shape. But it is not always appropriate. Could someone give a sample. Component Spark with an irregular shape is welcome. Thanks in advance.

You can create a custom button skin that uses graphics that are not necessarily square using a path and mouseEnabledWhereTransparent = false.  For example, here is a custom button skin that looks like a diamond:

  • Apply a radial gradient of irregular shape

I am trying to add a radial gradient to an elliptical shape (or irregular) so that the transition is uniform around the edges, but in contrast to the circle, where it is homogeneous, in the irregular shape, it is concentric applied. How can I get the gradient transition following the outline of irregular shape?

Draw out gradient for the largest size then turn it up to the smallest size. Do it on an empty full layer and apply a layer mask or hang it on your form.

For some reason, my elliptical objects are keeping their shape, specifically in the glass filter in the menu of the distortion of Photoshop CS4. Same thing with any artistic or brush the filters of the race. The Interior of the shape is affected but it retains its circular/elliptical form. This only started happening this morning after the first time I started by Photoshop (as in this worked the first time, but after that he has not worked properly). Blending mode is normal, there is no selection. Any help would be very appreciated it's biting into my schedule.

glass filter does not support transparency, a layer containing a color unique ellipse (or any shape) surrounded by transparency would not change at all when you use the filter glass, you need pixels around it filled

  • where are my custom shapes in photoshop than CS6 stored?

trying to move them to CC2015, but cannot find the custom in cs6 shapes, I did...

Ive checked the applications folder and the library via the menu go... I only see default custom forms in these places? Does this mean that my custom forms are stored somewhere else somehow?

    applications folder:

    customshapes_applications.png

    GB/library/etc...

    library customshapes.png

in the library of its just empty...

The reality is custom forms can be saved and loaded from and to anywhere on your storage devices.  Adobe stores the in folder preset for each new version of Photoshop installed and for each user id in their folder of presets preferences for forms, you can also use the files for load selection dialog and save to navigate to any folder on your system.  I have a script creates it custom shapes.  I also record everything I personally add to Photoshop on my file adobe creates in my system and systems outdoors. So I always know where is my Photoshop stuff.

  • Hi - I am trying to draw an irregular shape (series of straight lines) and fill it with the color... How can I do this?

I need to draw a shape irregular, closed, which is a series of joined lines and fill it with the color, etc., I can only see square, polygon, etc...

You can set the polygon tool to 3 sides, or use the pen tool.

  • How to automatically create a rectangular layer from a selection of irregular shape mask?

I'm trying to automatically crop images. The subject is on a white background and extends between the left edge of the image to the right. The top and bottom of the object are in the frame. I need to crop a certain distance from the top and at the bottom of the topic and a predefined width which would be calculated from the height of the subject.

My current idea is to create a duplicate layer and run the threshold on this, that allows me to choose the topic clearly. Once I have the selected object, I use Image-> cultures to create the desired rectangle, but I can't find a way to create a mask for the selected object in an irregular way. Anyone know how to take a selection and convert it into a rectangle? I hope this makes sense, I try to explain better if not. Thank you.

  • How to fix the filling on a track of irregular shape?

I worked with illustrator on this image when I tried to fill it out and I got these nasty little bugs with the filling. It is probably a newbie question, but as you can see on the image, filling in the left roll does not fill the entire shape, while the right rolled (a little more difficult to see)

    http://www.picamatic.com/show/2012/05/06/09/30/8396021_728x484.jpg

As the picture shows, the rolled left is a large joined trail. The right roller is consistent of several duplicate paths, which were glued in place and joined in different formations (to create the inner layer (textured), the shattered hull of the roll and finally the rest of the roll (intact shell). (These things are a bit like Ho-Hos, if you have already had one, or Twinkies and if you don't know what it is... I don't know.)

Unfortunately, the fillings are not exactly filling that left roll or overfill the right.

    Any ideas?

I can provide the .ai file if necessary.

With the selected offending rolls, go to the transformation Panel and turn off snap to grid of pixels. Alternatively, remove the left the two anchors in the upper corner.

  • Subtract the area of the shape (SC5)?

    Hello!
I can't subtract from shape area.

I'm trying to do as in this tutorial (part 2) Create a 3D sphere):

    http://www.vectordiary.com/Illustrator/Illustrator-disco-ball-tutorial/

    What I am doing wrong?

    1. I create the shape (eclipse)

    2. I create the form of subtraction (rectangle)

    3. I select the

    3. click on effect-> PathFinder-> subtract

    (I use Illustrator SC5 and I can't find that effect-> PathFinder-> subtraction, I can't subtract from shape area)

    But nothing happens.

    Where I fool you?

    Hi IllustratorBeginner

I think you're using the effect on the selected objects. But in the tutorial it is given using the "area Subtract (Alt-click to enlarge) form", you can find this option in the Panel pathfinder that you can open in the window menu > Pathfinder and selecting the image icon second under the label "Modes of the form: You can create two types of objects with this feature:

    (1) by clicking on the image after selecting the ellipse and the rectangle togather, you will get a single path with the desired result.

    (2) by 'ALT + click', you will get a form with the desired result object.

  • Is there an easy way to find the area of a shape?

I paint a picture of the spyder using partitions in an XML file. I use drawing methods to connect a bunch of points along certain rays. Once the shape is drawn, I would like to find the area. I could use trig and get the size of each triangular wedge of the shape, but I would steer clear of that if possible. Is there an easier way to do this?

    Thanks in advance

because for the loops and hitTest() run if soon there is no reason to use a monte carlo method to compute the area of a stage object. Indeed, using Math.Random () and 1/4 of the for loops is probably longer than the calculation of the area exactly:

    Hey Douglas,.

have you tried selecting "Custom" as the size of the envelope and specifying then 4 x 5 "? because the size specified in the Word document and the actual size should ALWAYS be the same.

I have attached a screenshot which will help you to understand easily.
