Area permissions Admin subject OBIEE

I'm trying to accomplish two things related to securing the subject box.  I'm not able to do either with the OBIEE Admin tool as I believe it should work but haven't found a long work around for one using the Administration manage the privileges in the responses.  Here are the two challenges:

(1) cannot create the table based on security in the administration tools of OBIEE that works when it is deployed to the OBIEE server:

Location: In the OBIEE administration tool I have:

  • Field 'ARG' who has the following permissions:
    • Authenticated user (defined as reading have no fault in option)
    • GRA Analytics ()set read/write)
    • GRA course Analytics (set read/write)
    • All other responsibilities are defined by default
  • Within the area of topic GRA, I have a table named 'Global' with the following permissions:
    • Authenticated user (defined as reading have no fault in option)
    • Analytics ARG (as default)
    • GRA course Analytics (set read/write)
    • All other responsibilities are defined by default
  • I have a user configuration with the responsibility of 'Analytics ARG' but NOT the responsibility of GRA Secure Analytics
  • The user is authenticated using LDAP by Siebel (where the responsibilities are assigned

Desire:

  • When the user connects to answers and opens the topic GRA they would see all tables EXCEPT the global table

Undesirable result:

  • The user is able to see the GRA area but also sees the global table
  • I find users in the groups of roles/catalog and they DO NOT have the role of GRA Secure Analytics ( do not have the role of GRA analytics.)

Note: My second question which I included below directly impact on the question of the top of the page.

(2) cannot create the topic in that security based in administrative tools of OBIEE that works when it is deployed to the OBIEE server:

Location: In the OBIEE administration tool I have:

  • Field 'ARG' who has the following permissions:
    • Authenticated user (defined as reading have no fault in option)
    • GRA Analytics ()set read/write)
    • GRA course Analytics (set read/write)
    • All other responsibilities are defined by default
  • I have a user configuration with the responsibility of 'Analytics ARG' but NOT the responsibility of GRA Secure Analytics
  • The user is authenticated using LDAP by Siebel (where the responsibilities are assigned

Desire:

  • When the user connects to only those users with the GRA analytical responses or the responsibility of GRA Secure analytics would see the ARG field

Undesirable result:

  • Any user who connects to the responses seen topic GRA area

Work around:

  • If I connect to answers with my Admin user account I can select Administration-> manage privileges
  • Find the ARG area and then set the permissions of responsibility Through analytics and GRA Secure Analytics as "Granted".
  • When the user logs in the responses with the analytical GRA or the responsibility of GRA Secure Analytics they see the ARG area, but if they don't have the responsibility that they don't see it.

Problems with work around:

  • Makes assigning permissions in OBIEE Admin obsolete tool
  • Cannot assign table level permissions here and therefore cannot solve the first problem listed
  • Still not sure why to set permissions in the OBIEE administration tool are ignored

If you could help me find a solution that gets the work tool OBIEE Admin permissions it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you...

Hi Ben,

I have the feeling you haven't exactly how these things works.

In the authorization in the 'Authenticated users' administration tool means that every single user in turning to the stage of connection.

"Read" is enough to see and use (scan on) an object.

"Read/write" If you want to make updates to your data through OBIEE.

(2) only members of the roles GRA Analytics & GRA Secure Analytics app must be able to see these topic: 'see' means hide or display in the front end, it's something you manage (as you did in the privileges to manage in the front-end server. If you want to restrict the user to use the subject box (this is what is permission to Admin tool) you will need to attach "Authenticated user" to "No access", all other roles 'Default' (= 'Access forbidden') with the exception of your 2 app Analytics ARG and ARG Secure Analytics roles for which you set the 'Read' permission

(1) just use the same "recipe" (2): 'Authenticated user' to 'Access forbidden', GRA Analytics also on "Access forbidden" and only Through Secure analytics on 'reading '.

Give it a try.

Just keep in mind that Manage privileges works in a different way than the tool Admin permissions. Privileges to manage 'decline' is the highest permission. If an app role has 'decline' and another 'allow' and you are a member of both you will have the "decline" applied to you.

In the Admin tool, it's the opposite: If one role of the app does not have 'access' and another 'read' and you are both Member you will have permission to 'read '.

  • Are there ways to OBIEE interface with client application?

Our OBIEE 10.3.4 on Redhat, OBIEE version to connect to an Oracle Database 11.2.0.2 running on the same box of Redhat like OBIEE. Our application is based on java web application you use Tomcat, he point to the OLTP of Oracle Database 11.2.0.2 on a dedicated server from Redhat.

One of the requirements for the original application was logical with complecated OLTP data process and create reports in text files. The customer wants now OBI allows you to view, print, and distribute reports. The best way to meet this requirement of change to the advanced stage of development seem to interface with OBIEE application, if at all possible. In this way, by clicking on a button in the GUI of the application, a stream of formatted data is sent to the OBI Stardoll service in response to a request. A client OBI page will then be displayed to shpw reports and allow users to print and distribute.

Now there is some OBI API that allows an application to call to interface with OBIEE?

    Thank you.

  • Not all lines are displayed in the OBIEE answers

    Hello

When I include a dimension column (PRODUCT) with my column of fact (AMT SALES), I have only one line of PRODUCT displayed.

If I select only the PRODUCT column without any column of FACT, I get the list of all PRODUCT(25 rows).

I used the query generated by OBIEE and he ran into my database and I get all the lists of products and the amount of sales. (25 lines).

I guess my problem is in my RPD. But where in my RPD should I look for to debug this problem?

    Thank you.

    Published by: ssk1974 on January 11, 2011 13:09

It is probably correct behavior - you probably only have an existing product in your fact table? If you want to see all the lists of products as well as $0 for the facts, you will need to do an outer join between the dimension and the fact.

Of course, if your fact table has other products, there are another problem - perhaps joined Sun on the wrong column name or something.

    Hope this helps,

  • Unit test: what are permissions?

When I try to create a repository I get:

Selected connection has no basic permissions.
You are now prompted for connection information grant permission

I do not have superuser privileges, and I will never get, because it is against company policy to give powerful subsidies for developers.

How can I use unit tests then? Is there a SQL file that I can give to my database administrator to face the DB?

    Thank you
    Laurent

    Hi Laurent,.

Here are the minimum required for internal checks and use unit tests.

Once your DBA is doing this:

-RUN BOTH TO IMPLEMENT THE UT WITH MINIMUM PRIVILEGES REQUIRED ROLES:

    - REMOVE the ROLE UT_REPO_USER.
    - REMOVE the ROLE UT_REPO_ADMINISTRATOR.
    - DROP USER MIN_PRIV_UT_REPO WITH WATERFALL;

    CREATE the ROLE UT_REPO_USER;
    GRANT SELECT ON DBA_TAB_PRIVS to UT_REPO_USER; -- 3.1
    GRANT EXECUTE ON DBMS_LOCK to UT_REPO_USER; -- 3.1
    CREATE the ROLE UT_REPO_ADMINISTRATOR;
    GRANT UT_REPO_USER to UT_REPO_ADMINISTRATOR; --3.1

EDIT/RUN FOR EACH REPOSITORY OF TEST USER/UNIT DESIRED:
-Note: replace MIN_PRIV_UT_REPO, USERS, TEMP you like for your situation

CREATING USER MIN_PRIV_UT_REPO IDENTIFIED BY MIN_PRIV_UT_REPO
    By DEFAULT the TABLESPACE USERS
    TEMPORARY TABLESPACE TEMP;

    GRANT RESOURCE OF MIN_PRIV_UT_REPO ;
    GRANT CONNECT to MIN_PRIV_UT_REPO .
    GRANT CREATE VIEW to MIN_PRIV_UT_REPO ;
    GRANT SELECT ON DBA_ROLES to MIN_PRIV_UT_REPO ;
    GRANT SELECT ON DBA_ROLE_PRIVS to MIN_PRIV_UT_REPO ;
    GRANT UT_REPO_ADMINISTRATOR to MIN_PRIV_UT_REPO ;

Then in SQLDeveloper, select Tools-> Unit Test-> choose a current repository, create/select a connection for MIN_PRIV_UT_REPOand press 'Yes' when asked if you want to create a.

With the roles of the UT put in place 'empty' like that, the menu options for the management of a shared repository will be active and seems to work, but doesn't really matter

  • How can I get all the permissions Admin with Windows 8?

I have recently installed Windows 8 on a used laptop that I bought and I'm trying to clean it up, but he always tells me I'm not allowed to watch even some files. How can I get all the PERMISSIONS ADMINISTRATOR?

You must use the run as administrator command. So if you run a program or a file, just click and click on run as administrator. If you delete something, you must have an administrator account.

  • icon comments with other issues of icon and download arrow on this subject, on the Security tab.

I'm on a laptop computer with dsl internet IE with another computer using the gateway. My os is Vista Home premium and service pack 2. I checked my settings on a regular basis and updated and scanned my system regularly. I periodically check the security settings for all the problems, and they are usually very good. However, I had taken a couple of times in administrator mode, I don't have the rights of security to certain files or programs. When I checked the security labels, I got a message that I could see the settings, but could not make changes. This should not be, as far as I know, because the administrator must have all the rights. I've never seen any icon like this on the Security tab, (or anywhere else) in the past. I went into the security on a folder tab and proceeded to bring up the list of groups and their safety features and found the icon comments soiled by a arrow pointing down. Guests (multiple) icon didn't. I can't bring up anything on this subject. I'm the only person on this computer, and I use the only admin account to do administrative tasks.  I have a personal account, which is a standard user account and both accounts are protected by Word. The guest account has never been activated. The curious to keep in mind another note is that other groups are listed under the name of my pc, but system and comments are not included, for a long time with others who are in the usual list of people or groups. I'm sure that the system must be included, because that always has all the rights. I don't have not find a way to change the icon, or find info for the customer. I searched your site and forums, as well as several other pc and tech support forums and can't find anything close to this issue, save the information on the Chameleon that MSN uses in their toolbar that makes icons from almost anything. Who is listed in my registry under MSN. It seems trivial, but I think it is maybe not so innocent, if it's way in. There are icons from two people on my printer files even if I checked them as not shared. I had checked to share, as well as the share folder normal, to see if anyone is on the network of the group to my computer profile. There was no evidence, however, I thought it would show the other computer on the local network, since the group is the same name. These icons came from. Everyone was listed as entitled to print and edit or delete parameters or printers and print on stations there. I couldn't do that. At most I would not have understood change or delete anything. In the group list, everyone was marked not with my pc name. Local service, I thought I was usually part of the active list is not marked either. System is not marked either. Here is a list of what it says:

Administrator, administrators, ASPNET user to the debugger, distributed COM users, readers of the event log, the (acc't of the admin), comments, invited, IIS_IUSRS, IIS_WPG, Performance Log users, users of performance, (me), monitor users.

I'm a little puzzled. Y at - it a simple explanation that I may have missed?

In Vista, administrators have all the access rights as they did in XP.  NUMBER of cases do not have access.  There are records of point junction where everybody is seen to deny access.  This is intentional to decrease the chance that someone will change, move or delete something, they should not (even administrators).  Some of them can be modified in order to access and others require special modifications of access - which shouldn't be done without a VERY good reason (as told to do so by Microsoft Support).  What you missed is that the permissions have changed in Vista from XP.

Here is some information on permisions and property in Vista that can help:

To view your permissions, right-click on the file/folder, click Properties, and check the Security tab.  Check the permissions you have by clicking on your user name (or group of users).  Here are the types of permissions, you may have: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/What-are-permissions.  You must be an administrator or owner to change the permissions (and sometimes, being an administrator or even an owner is not sufficient - there are ways to block access (even if a smart administrator knows these ways and can move them - but usually should not because they did not have access, usually for a very good reason).)  Here's how to change the permissions of folder under Vista: http://www.online-tech-tips.com/windows-vista/set-file-folder-permissions-vista/.  To add take and the issuance of right of permissions and ownership in the right click menu (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/05/21/take-and-grant-full-control-permissions-and-ownership-in-windows-7-or-vista-right-click-menu/.

To resolve this problem with folders, appropriating the files or the drive (as an administrator) and give you all the rights.  Right-click on the folder/drive, click Properties, click the Security tab and click on advanced and then click the owner tab.  Click on edit, and then click the name of the person you want to give to the property (you may need to add if it is not there--or maybe yourself). If you want that it applies to subfolders and files in this folder/drive, then check the box to replace the owner of subcontainers and objects, and click OK.  Back and now there is a new owner for files and folders/player who can change the required permissions.  Here is more information on the ownership of a file or a folder: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67717-take-ownership-file.html.  To add take ownership in the menu of the right click (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/.

A lot of general system groups are included by inheritance rather than be listed in each file and folder - that's why they are not always there - but they are.  If you select Advanced, you'll see permissions inherited from other folders.

I have no idea on the arrow on the guest account - I don't know what that means.  It may have something to do with safety or you installed AV programs (I know that Norton did something similar with the files to show if they have been backed up).  Personally I don't use the guest accounts and recommend against them because they are too easy to use to hack the sytem (and other reasons).  I would keep the disabled guest account and delete the duplicates but one off a (in the start menu / control panel / user accounts / manage other users).

I don't know why you can't see other computers on your local network - that sounds like a network or installation problem connection coming to redo the connection from scratch will fix (and then you can remove the one that isn't working right).  I don't know why your printer changed - rights but you can easily set them back to how they must be with the Security tab in the properties of the printer (and other settings in the start menu / control panel / printers).

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • I need help big time... (I messed up my permissions)

So I have an external USB drive that I have right click on last night and I wanted to remove the other users on my computer to be able to modify, move, delete, etc... all the files on this disc. So I removed the permissions under the security for everyone but me tab (the admin on the system) it goes through about 400 GB of value of the info about it, completely blocked me even has access to it.

I called Seagate, paid for a remote session with technical support, and they were left speechless. They said to call Microsoft (for $50) and see if they can help me get in the registry though back to a system restore point did not work (it didn't).

My G: only says 'Access denied' on it. The tech guy came in my cmd prompt and tried to access the drive and he said I had to grant privillage under mode 'high', whatever that means...

If anyone out there can help me, I would be SO grateful... tons and tons of files that I can't replace (I'm a sound engineer and have tracks concerts, programs, etc.) are on this drive and I simply can't access it because I f * ked to the top of the security on this subject.

I look forward to a response,

    Really
    Cain

Have you tried to take ownership of the drive?

    A. check the permissions of the file or folder the file is saved in and appropriated:

    1. right click on the file or folder and then click Properties.
    2. click on the Security tab.
    3. under group or user names, click your name to see the permissions you have.

To open a file, you must have the read permission. For more information about permissions, see what are permissions?

    http://tinyurl.com/2j9vgr

To take ownership of a folder:

1 right click on the folder you want to take control and then click Properties.
    2. click on the Security tab, click Advanced, and then click the owner tab.
    3. click on modify. Need administrator permission if you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    4. click on the name of the person you want to give to the property.
    5. If you want this person to be the owner of the files and subfolders in this folder, select the Replace owner of subcontainers and objects to check.
    6. click on OK

  • How to find storage disk permissions internal?

I installed my original Macbook pro hard drive from my perspective, own installed osx lion on a new SSD in the Bay, but having badly to access and edit the files and folders on the old hard drive.

I tried 'repair permissions', I tried to unlock the padlock in Inspector and inserting my account in the window "read and write" permissions admin privileges, but most of the files are "mixed permissions" at the level of the file so I can not change simultaneously with cmd + opt + i, not to mention that I'm also problems with Textedit (for example) saying that I can not edit a file despite having changed the permissions of the file in the Inspector.

When I try "chflags - r nouchg" in the Terminal it says 'Permission denied' at the end of each string.

Someone suggested the following commands for a similar problem, but the second half contains elements, I don't really understand (probably for the first I replace ' / Volumes/GPAudio "with the path of the player)?, so I thought best to give it a bash (heh) on my system without understanding if it was not for what I want to do or deadly poison

    sudo chflags-r nouchg/Volumes/GPAudio

    sudo find! $-type d - exec chmod a + x {};

The commands that you use in the Terminal to make changes on the storage disk require adding 'sudo' at the beginning. For example, sudo chflags - r nouchg. You will be asked your admin password. He will not resonate returned to the window. Try this instead:

    sudo chflags 0/Volumes / *.

    sudo chmod a + rx/Volumes / *.

    Killall Finder

    Another procedure is:

Boot into single user mode and the command prompt enter these commands by pressing RETURN after each:

    Mount - uw /.

    chown root: admin /.

    chmod 1775.

    reset

After rebooting open a Terminal in the Utilities folder. Paste these commands into the Terminal application to avoid typos:

    sudo knew

Press RETURN. Enter your administrator password when prompted.  There are not displayed on the screen. Press RETURN again. Now glue each of the following at the command prompt and press ENTER after each.

    chown root: admin/applications

    chmod 0775/applications

    chown root: admin/library

    chmod 1775/library

    chown root: admin/system

    chmod 0775/system

    chown root: admin/Users

    chmod 0775/Users

    r n/applications chmod

    chown-r: admin/Applications / *.

I suggest that you first print these instructions by using a font to large size constant spacing so that you can read correctly. There are spaces in the lines which are not readily observable.

You should see the permissions that are not by default in the pop-up window if you click on the identity of the Site (globe/lock) button on the address bar.

You can control and manage permissions for the domain in the tab currently selected through these steps:

    • Click the address bar onthe Site identity button"(globe/lock)
    • Click on 'More information' to open ' tools > Page Info "with the Security tab is selected
    • Go to the permissions tab (Tools > Page Info > permissions) to check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab

You can control and manage permissions for all areas on the Subject: authorizations page.

  • How can I get the username field to automatically populate when asked to enter my credentials for the admin?

I'm under El Capitan version 10.11.5. This is mac from my employer, which they made me an administrator for. On my mac personal home, the user name field is automatically filled in when the box appears asking an administrator user name and password, but on mac from my employer, I have to type at a time, whenever he appears.

I can't find an option in the auto-complete settings and for the mac save my admin username it when you request permissions. Anyone else know how to change this?

    Maybe this needs a clarification:

IF you are connected to a user admin "Your Own" account, and you are prompted for an admin password,

Well, your user name will already be pre filled in the user name field, waiting for your own admin password, on the account that you are already connected.

BUT, if another user is connected to their own user account, and a dialog box appears asking an admin password,

Well, this pop-up dialog box will be empty if the current user is not an admin, or pre populated with the user name if the current user is an administrator.

So, NO, I'm not aware anyway to do a random OTHER admin appears automatically in the box pop up when another user is logged on their different user account.  On your personal Mac at home, you are connected to your own account, (most likely, you are the admin), and when a box pop up on your own account is displayed asking admin credentials, your own user name will appear here.

This also happens in privacy > cookies. The exceptions that I put to disappear the next time I open Firefox.
How can I make these permanent exceptions?

In case you use "clear history of Firefox closing:

    • do not delete Site preferences

Note that compensation "Preferences of Site" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, windows pop up, installation of software and passwords.

You can control and manage permissions for all areas on the Subject: authorizations page or for the current domain via the "Site identity button" (globe/lock) on the address bar and click on "More information" to open "Page Info" and go to the permissions tab.

You can delete the permissions.sqlite to reset all the permissions.

  • Allow non admins open files that need admin privlages

OK, I tried to leave my son to open a specific .exe that requires admin privlages and some how you must be an administrator to do. So is there a way I could do a non administrator with parental control activated on his account be allowed to open an exacutable specific .exe file with on him being an administrater?

It is a matter of permissions (although I have never tried to do what you try here - I have no children and I am the only user on my laptop).  Right click on the .exe file and go to properties, then the Security tab.  Add their username in their own right.  Which should allow activate the program (I think).  If it does not, it may need also to bring owner (as described below) if the system allows this.  I don't know or either of these options will work if she REALLY needs administrator privileges (it would be) but it's my best guess as to how to if it can be done.

To resolve this problem with the files or folders, take ownership of the files or folders or the player (as an administrator) and give you all the rights.  Right-click on the folder/drive, click Properties, click the Security tab and click on advanced and then click the owner tab.  Click on edit, and then click the name of the person you want to give to the property (you may need to add if not here - or it can be yourself or you may need to add your son). If you want that it applies to subfolders and files in this folder/drive, then check the box to replace the owner of subcontainers and objects, and click OK.  Back and now there is a new owner for files and folders/player who can change the required permissions.  You can change now switched to read-only (even if the main folder indicates that they are always read-only - you can access yourself as the owner).

Good luck and I hope this helps!
