  I am new to OBIEE and I already searched here in the forum but have not found an exact answer which could help me.
  I have a table in the warehouse where to get information on employees. It's employe_id, manager_id and name.
  Example:
  Employe_id Manager_ID name
  1 Mueller
  2 1 Meier
  
  Now, I would like to create a new column in the Mapping BI Admin tool business layer and add a SQL where to select the name of the Manager.
  Is this possible? And how can we do it? It will work with a new logical column? Where we add the SQL Code?

  OK, I think I got it - the name of Manager is on a separate table (or a search to return to the current table) and your thinking that you want to label your SQL in the report to find the name of Manager based on Director ID, you have?

  If so, import the table with the names of Manager in the physical layer. If this is the same table that you already have (but want to search him in the current table) then you need to create an alias for the current table.

  For each new table in the Phy layer, or an alias - define the join (current_table.manager_id = manager_table_or_aliased_current_table.employee_id)

  Once completed, we will on the source of the logic table in the MDB for this dimension, edit, on the general tab, "Add" and select the table / alias that you created in the phy layer. Click OK - it combines now two tables attached as a source - you can then map the name of the Manager search in your column 'name '.

• After you import the metadata from an another env, no access to the Control Center Manager

  I work with bise1, in this setup there are main ETL OWB features only;
  I imported metadata via design-> import metadata; These metadata were exported in a different environment;
  Once imported, all seem fine, I can make changes, the center of access control manager
  then I save and exit design center; When I connect back, I have more access to the Control Center Manager, the command is dimmed.
  I re-imported 5 times already, so I only got access to the Control Center Manager, why what is happening?
  anyone ever had something similar, or perhaps you could have the indication on what is the problem?

  may be trivial, but you opened the project in the Project Explorer tree. Before that, you cannot open the Control Center Manager because it is related to a project.

  Anyone know how to keep the metadata information after you have used the Correct camera distortion filter?

  In other words:

  When I need to correct the photo with good camera distortion to the menu Filter option I can't keep the metadata to the final table.

  After correction, I cut the useful part with the rectangular selection tool, and then I chose the file, new, Image to the Clipboard.

  Either the format file that I choose to save the metadata information has disappeared.

  I tried to export the metadata from File, FileInfo, information, and then import the metadata (XMP file) but no result.

  Someone at - it an idea to solve this issue

  This is probably because your using the Clipboard that discards the data.

  Try to crop your photo and recording. You can always cancel the harvest after saving if you want to do something in the photo.

  I do not believe, but you can rename the folder and see if something is complaining.  If it isn't, it is probably safe to delete.

  I imported the metadata for a table (oracle database) using RKM. Then, I modified the columns on the database. Is there a way I can just sync that information with ODI?
  
  I've done so far is, delete the data and retro-design store again. Is there a better approach?

  Sorry I have to disagree with you. :)

  Whenever you created a new database in DB and reverse the trend, ODI will bring the metadata structure. So anyway, if you change the structure of the table and hit just reverse the button data store level will not refresh the new structure.

  Once more, you must remove the data store and to reverse the trend, or you can manually add do change. But, you can track changes to ODI,

  For metadata, access files - Import / Export - Archives - physical related objects.

  There, the option to include custom metadata PCM is what you are looking for.

  I don't know if the content of files is empty or if files have been renamed.  I ran the Windows Fixit but still no Admin Tools and Recycle bin is not fair. I have no idea of what all is not good. I can't defragment because there is nothing in the system folder. I can't restore it.

  Not a dummy either computer but not a tech genius.  I have the software OS but try to avoid it if possible. Do not know how it got in its current state...

  I'm not in love with my PC but I do what I can to work for now. I hate Vista!
