Allow non admins open files that need admin privlages

OK, I tried to leave my son to open a specific .exe that requires admin privlages and some how you must be an administrator to do. So is there a way I could do a non administrator with parental control activated on his account be allowed to open an exacutable specific .exe file with on him being an administrater?

It is a matter of permissions (although I have never tried to do what you try here - I have no children and I am the only user on my laptop).  Right click on the .exe file and go to properties, then the Security tab.  Add their username in their own right.  Which should allow activate the program (I think).  If it does not, it may need also to bring owner (as described below) if the system allows this.  I don't know or either of these options will work if she REALLY needs administrator privileges (it would be) but it's my best guess as to how to if it can be done.

To view your permissions, right-click on the file/folder, click Properties, and check the Security tab.  Check the permissions you have by clicking on your user name (or group of users).  Here are the types of permissions, you may have: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/What-are-permissions.  You must be an administrator or owner to change the permissions (and sometimes, being an administrator or even an owner is not sufficient - there are ways to block access (even if a smart administrator knows these ways and can move them - but usually should not because they did not have access, usually for a very good reason).)  Here's how to change the permissions of folder under Vista: http://www.online-tech-tips.com/windows-vista/set-file-folder-permissions-vista/.  To add take and the issuance of right of permissions and ownership in the right click menu (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/05/21/take-and-grant-full-control-permissions-and-ownership-in-windows-7-or-vista-right-click-menu/.

To resolve this problem with the files or folders, take ownership of the files or folders or the player (as an administrator) and give you all the rights.  Right-click on the folder/drive, click Properties, click the Security tab and click on advanced and then click the owner tab.  Click on edit, and then click the name of the person you want to give to the property (you may need to add if not here - or it can be yourself or you may need to add your son). If you want that it applies to subfolders and files in this folder/drive, then check the box to replace the owner of subcontainers and objects, and click OK.  Back and now there is a new owner for files and folders/player who can change the required permissions.  You can change now switched to read-only (even if the main folder indicates that they are always read-only - you can access yourself as the owner).  Here is more information on the ownership of a file or a folder: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67717-take-ownership-file.html.  To add take ownership in the menu of the right click (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/.

    Deleted file recovery can recover incomplete files, i.e. the part of these files may be missing.  Recover deleted files is much more reliable if recovery of a backup, instead of using recovery software.

    These things depend on the operating system and the file system.

    One thing, you can see: open one of these files damaged with a text editor, and then make sure that the constant % PDF is somewhere in the first 1024 bytes.

    For that length, you will need to write on a DVD double layer

    Hi Jason,

    Since you did a factory restore, you must get in touch with the manufacturer of the computer, for assistance in the recovery, files.

    You can also use your favorite search engine looking for a third party recovery tool recover files.

    Note: The use of third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

  • OEM Grid allows to detect files that need recovery

    From what I can tell there is no metrics out of the box in order to detect when a file needs recovery. I'll probably create a metric of defined user to scan v$ recover_file.

    My questions are:
    (1) is there a better solution to this? Analyze the alerts may log?
    (2) do somebody knows a way to make a file need recovery so I can test the metric?

    A way to create a situation of 'need for recovery. "
    1 disconnect the tablespace.
    2 copy the data file (or one of the df) to * .old.
    3. replace the TS online. And for fun, create a table and insert a few lines inside.
    4 disconnect the TS.
    5 copy the data file *.old what it was
    6. put the TS again and bingo online.

    I think that the verification of existing alerts log triggers an alert.

    Media Center does not open PDF files and PDF files have nothing to do with playback of music or videos.  Somehow, downloads do not create the appropriate file types.  Where are you these downloads?  Can you give me a website?  You want to download (images, videos, music, what)?  What version of Media Center do you use?  What version of Vista are you using?  How do you download files and if you use a browser, which is the name and version of the browser?

    I am not able to open files that are not created in word works perfectly, or has vista what ever. I can't open things in word or works that are sent to me or my teacher has on its website of the files.   • DFSR and files that begin with numbers

    I have a DFSR configuration and it works fine except that when I went to check if all files have been sync'd I noticed none of the files that begin with a number are replicated from the original host to the new.

    It is the filter that is in place:
    ' ~ *, master, *.tmp.
    That should not exclude these files.

    When open cmd and insert this command (sqlldr control = loader.ctl username/password@server)

    This error has occurred

    SQL * Loader-500: could not open the file (loader.ctl)
    SQL * Loader-553: file not found
    SQL * Loader-509: System error: the system cannot find the specified file.

    This is probably due to spaces in the path (Documents and Settings). Cd in this directory and lose the full path, move the control file or put quotes around the full path + file.
