Arrange the icons on the desktop
In windows 7.0, how to reorder the icons on the desktop (internet shortcuts)? I used to be able to simply by doing a right-click and drag, but now the pop icons simply go back to their original location; or sometimes move, but do not leave a space blank in the old location. Is there a simple way to reorganize the Office?
Hi Shalini,
I tried the suggestion of Ronnie earlier & it did not help. But my problem was solved when Dell has helped me do a system restore before my problems started.
Thank you

How I auto arrange icons on the desktop of my second.
Well, I have therefore 2 monitors. I love what auto fix, it helps me always keep very organized. Well, my office is getting super crowded. I log in and the icons on my second monitor are off the screen of my primary monitor.
Now, here's my setup.
SECOND HAND CPU
MONITOR MONITOR TOUR

In the case that gets jammed, follow second on the left, main in the middle of my table and the computer on the right Tower. I love the installer, I absolutely never will change because it is very useful for me!
My main monitor is in the Middle, cuz make games and other things. My second monitor is off on the side to make the navigation while playing games, programming, and code, to learn the new language of programming (tutorial on the left, on the right IDE) etc.
So. I want to use automatic reorganization, but all my icons go off the screen.
Is it possible that without changing my main monitor that I can get everything to align to the left of my second monitor and through the screen on my only primary.
PRIMARY SECONDARY

That's what I'm aiming for.
Icons lined up on the left. Any way to do this, or any program that can do this? Already found something that allows me to have a double task bar, but I still have to find something like that
Hello
Welcome to the Microsoft community. I will certainly help you with the problem you are experiencing.
To keep the icons on the extended screen, you must either make the main screen or you must disable arrange. Arrange the feature will organize the icons on the screen main itself.
-Are you using the monitors in extend mode or double?
You can consult the following Microsoft articles for more information about the monitor options.

Now, select arrange icons by and uncheck "Web Lock Desktop items" if she has a little check mark next to it. Now on the Visual Effects tab scroll effects to 'use the shadows of the desktop icon labels' and put a tick in the box next to it, and then click ok. Icons cannot be moved on the desktop
I just changed my desktop image. I noticed the trash moved to the side left (he was on the right side at the start) in line with my other icons. When I try to drag the icon to the trash to another area on the desktop, it jumps to the left side. What I've done wrong?
It seems that "Auto arrange" has set in motion.
Right-click on an empty space on your desktop, then:
Organize the icons in-> uncheck "auto arrange".
"Icons disappear or that you cannot move icons on the desktop".

The only changes I made was that I deleted Norton 360 anti virus program and installed AVG free anti-virus. Some potentially also removed the virus files. Other profiles 2 user work well. I'll try what you suggested above by creating a new account. Wish me luck and I'll let you know what happens

XP... The desktop icons will not put
XP... The desktop icons will not put. I did a lot of research on this issue, read the different responses on many forums, including and have tried much of the recommendations... I'm not familiar with the functions of establishment of the arrangement of the desktop icon and this is the first time I met this kind of problem. "Lock Web items on desktop" is checked, "Snap to grid" is not checked (my preference, but I find that it will check mysteriously itself after the icons rearrange themselves to the left of the screen, apparently by making use of automatic reorganization, even if it is not checked), I tried securityguy14 registry change response dated December 7, 2009 , have installed and use the program "Icon restore" that changes the Recycle Bin, my computer, and another icon of office, I do not remember to add a backup/restore function for the setting icon on the desktop... is what bought me a brief period of mental health before they rearrange themselves after a few constantly unidentifable strike entered sometimes without "rhyme or reason", not unique to anything, preventing me from shrink down to a specific cause. I conducted several audits of malware with paid and free programs and there is no indication of anything invading my system, it works fine other wise. Help!

You see only your background image and the wallpaper?
Miss all your desktop icons and you don't see the taskbar at the bottom of the screen or are simply missing icons and you can see the taskbar at the bottom?
Check the simple things first. Right-click on an open space on your desktop, choose Arrange icons by and make sure the option show desktop icons has a check mark next to it. This will work if you don't miss you that the desktop icons, but still see the Start button and the taskbar. If you are missing as the Start button and the taskbar, which isn't your problem.
If only you can see your wallpaper background picture and don't see the desktop icons and no start button or taskbar, this means that the explorer.exe program does not run (and it must be running) or the explorer.exe program are usually afflicted. A good way to think about at the moment, it is that the process explorer.exe "is" your desktop.
If this is the case of malware in general prepares.
What is your system brand and model?
What is your version of XP and the Service Pack?
You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?
Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..
Sometimes your anti malware program to quarantine (and indeed remove) your file explorer.exe (or other critical files on the XP system) if it finds that the file is infected. The file may really be infected, but you can know for sure and then reconsider your anti malware options.
First, you need to get your work desk in order to have room for manoeuvre, then you can solve your problem of potential malware.
Of your background image, press Ctrl-Alt-Del and open Task Manager.
Look at the processes tab and if the process explorer.exe is not running, start it as follows:
In Task Manager, click file, new task, and in the Open box, enter:
%windir%\explorer.exe
Click OK and see if get you your office. If you get an error, we need to know what it says.
If explorer.exe is already running in the processes tab, it is likely that the object of the affection and will need to be replaced (which is not difficult).
If you notice that the explorer.exe process is already running in the Task Manager, highlight the explorer.exe process, and then click end process to stop and start a new explorer.exe process as described above.
If things look right now, your system is still not fixed, but it should be enough usable so now you can fix it.
I would start with these scans:
Perform scans for malware first, then these scans by operating clean, difficulty of problems:
Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:
Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/They can be uninstalled later if you wish.
Please report back with information about your system and your results if you need additional assistance.
