ASA 5510 can be configured as bridge mode and always send Netflow information to a collector

ASA 5510 can be configured as bridge mode and always send Netflow information to a collector?

We have a PIX connect internal network to the internet. Because PIX does not support NetFlow, as temporary solution, we thought to a 5510 ASA between the PIX and the internet gateway and configure as a bridge so that there will be no problem routing, and the SAA can always send Netflow information to a collector.

Can someone please advise if this is possible?

Thank you.

I have not tried, but as a Netflow service policy should work in routed and transparent mode. Reference.

Why don't you just replace the Pix with the ASA in routed mode?

The M20 Valet isn't a function of wireless bridge. You try to extend the connection of the main router wireless? I suggest that you optimize the router's wireless settings. Or add a network Extender.

  • AM200 bridged Mode and RVS4000? + Thoughts

    Hi guys and girls,

I thought to upgrade a network and a few ideas.

I currently have an AM200 modem connected to a switch that is sharing the bandwidth. This is not an optimal solution more like some features such as QoS are missing. The switch is also a speed of 10/100, even once, is more suitable for the backbone network.

I'm considering buying a RVS4000-UK to provide routing, security and QoS, with the added benefit of an implementation of VPN.

    My questions are:

What people think of this Setup?

I heard that the WAN-TO-LAN throughput is disappointing. This doesn't affect me too much, but it has improved these firmware updates? I see that V1.3.1.0 is now available.

    And above all,.

The AM200 modem can be set in Bridge mode, the RVS4000-UK supports PPPoA on the WAN port? I've seen screenshots with PPPoE but they come from an American site. I don't want the trouble of a double NAT!

    See you soon

    * UPDATE *.

After a few hours of research, I found that the AM200 has a new firmware that corrects the half-bridge mode. This allows to my modem handle the PPPoA authentication and pass an IP WAN to the router. I don't know what to set the good RVS4000 WAN page. Is there some kind of auto or static setting available? Anyone who has used the router in this way?

Hello Michael, one thing I'd like to know is that we have here in America work usually with the AM200 modem, but I need to know a bit more information on this topology, how many will connect to this VPN connection, what type of Internet connection you have, you are using laptops or desktop, win 7, vista or XP. and many more wonder.

  • Not able to get the 192.168.1.1 console configuration in Bridge Mode only

    Hello

I use the Linksys WAG200G wireless modem and connection mode is ' Bridge Mode Only ', in this mode I do not get the console configuration 192.168.1.1 and Wifi set-up. Please help me to solve these problems. Appreciate your help. Thank you.

    1. you set a static IP address, for example 192.168.1.2 mask 255.255.255.0 on the computer and he wire the WAG to get access.

    2. do not allow the wireless and basically anything else on the WAG during a bridge mode. In bridge mode, it works like a standard modem and all you can change is the modem related settings.

  • site-to-site between ASA 5510 (8.4 (2)) w / static IP and Dlink DIR130 w / dynamic IP.

I'm trying to implement a VPN site link to site between the ASA5510 we use exclusively as a VPN endpoint on campus and a D-Link DIR130 router off campus, to a local company with a dynamically assigned IP address.  We currently use the ASA to remote access users who use the Cisco VPN client on mobile devices, as well as a link to site-to-site unique in our telecommunications provider for the purposes of remote monitoring telecoms equipment.

We are looking for a way to deploy at a lower cost of VPN connections for local businesses to allow them to use the devices for sale which connect to systems on campus, so students can use their meal in local restaurants cards, similar to the way they use them in the cafeteria on campus.

I have experience setting up Cisco switches, routers and APs, but ASA appliance absolutely baffles me.  I futzed with the AMPS 6.4 config autour gui and tried to match the configurations between the DIR130 and the ASA, but I can never get a VPN to come.  Anyone who can point me to an example, or provide me with help on this would be appreciated.  I have google searched and found very little, with my limited experience in setting up ASA, I ask to my script.

You must configure the static route on the 6509 for 192.168.5.0/24 to ASA inside the interface:

    IP route 192.168.5.0 255.255.255.0 131.162.160.2

Assuming that 131.162.160.1 is your 6509

  • Our ASA 5510 can provide VPN to our LAN cloud?

    Hi people,

We have a number of (1 7 or if virtual, dedicated) servers hosted in a cloud provider well known on the West coast of the USA.

They just put an ASA5510 across our LAN Server to help protect the servers.

I was wondering if it is possible that the ASA5510 can provide VPN access to our LAN cloud? At the moment we have the firewall block - all - ports except 80/443/3389 (RDP for our Windows servers).

I was actually hoping to block port 3389, so nobody can RDP on all servers. BUT... VPN in our LAN cloud, then we can connect to a server via RDP or any software / port. Indeed, the VPN opens all ports... you have created a VPN tunnel has provided

So is this possible? The ASA5510 this offer?

    Last question-> and it's a ballast: gulp:...

We cannot install any client software 3rd party... including any cisco vpn client software. We must use the built in software Windows7 VPN... making PPTP, SSTP, L2TP-IPSEC.

So... now the ASA5510 can offer that? If so... is there any special scripts or configs I need to give to the Cloud hosting provider, so they can set the machine to work?

    Help, please!

    -Jussy-

    Two possibilities come to mind.

    -Built-in L2tp over Ipsec client.

    ASA config Guide:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/security/ASA/asa82/configuration/guide/l2tp_ips.html

-Clientless webvpn (if RDP and other plugins, but requires java/activeX for some features...

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/security/ASA/asa82/configuration/guide/WebVPN.html

These options should work except ASA is in mode multi-conext.

  • ASA 5510 L2L VPN static gateway of azure and branches and

    Hello

I am trying to configure an ASA to operate as a hub between two site-to-site VPN, at our office and the other on Azure.

    i.e.

    Office <-- internet="" --="">ASA <-- internet="" --="">Azure

On the two sites I can establish a VPN for the hosts of the ASA and access on our data center network, but I can't seem to get the connectivity from end to end of Azure at our office or vice versa.

Any ideas on what I can try as I have been hitting my head against a wall with this one.

    Hello

If traffic also came from the blue to office network so it would seem that there is a problem with configuring VPN L2L between ASA and Azure, very probably on the Côte d'Azur.

  • Currently, I am running Windows 7 but to install a range more network adapter Linksys which is only compatible with Windows XP. Can I use the compatibility mode and install through XP?

You can understand that I want to change my office from Wired to Wireless and really to have the adapter installed in the back of my Office Wireless (with dual band antennas).  The Linksys device is not yet recognized because I'm running Windows 7 while trying to install the drivers which are only Windows XP and previous versions. Is it possible to USE the Windows 7 compatibility mode > XP and still have a stable system when I'm not using the adapter. ?  Really appreciate the help of someone who can advise me.

    Thank you all very much,

    Roger Willis

    Calimesa, CA.

    Hi Roger

The Compatibility Mode works with hardware or software drivers. This mode is less reliable when installing the hardware drivers that it is during the installation of software.

If Compatibility Mode fails, your only option would be to check with the support of Linksys.

  • How can I configure the printer preferences and not just margins, etc.

The default setting for my printer is A5 (8.5X5.5' and every time when you print a page (document) of Firefox, I have to set the printer to letter-size preferences and which tray to print.) Is there a way for me have Firefox do for me?

    Thanks, uncle Dewey

    From topic: config

It's preference that tells Firefox saves the last modification of the settings.

Print save_print_settings = True - (by default): save the print settings after each print job

This setting has to be changed in about:config if you would want to switch it to False.

    And as jscher2000 said.

    Print.printer_name.print_paper_height

    Print.printer_name.print_paper_width

-the values are stored as measures either inch or metric or not according to U.S. paper sizes (letter, legal, custom, etc.) or 'A' type of paper sizes.

These two settings are saved in the selection of paper made in the dialogue window of the printer properties for the printer that can be opened from the Properties button in the "native print dialog" window of Firefox which is what you see when you start printing in Firefox via {Ctrl + P} or one of the menu items print.

These two settings are automatically set or changed with each print job which is sent to the printer. There is no way to set a permanent default paper size, the default is the last used paper sizes.
Right, wrong, or indifferent, Firefox does not honor the system-wide default paper or printer settings you make for the printer in your operating system. In Firefox the "last used" is the "default".
