  • ASA not found (error 2)

    Hi all

I never thought this would happen, but it seems that I can't install itunes more.

After that my original HARD drive has failed and took the old library iTunes with it, I went to a drive C: SSD + D: HARD disk drive.

Obviously, iTunes install goes on (as recommended) C. The installation went without problems.

Now, when I try to launch it I get the "Apple Application Support not found, necessary for the performance of iTunes, reinstall etc. Error 2 (sometimes with "Windows error 5" as well).

The steps I've tried: complete the removal and reinstallation, removal of all traces of file and registry, manual reinstall post-installation of ASA (it allows me to fix, which means that it is definitely installed). I am the admin of this PC with Win7 64 bit.

When I try to install each component of the iTunes install manually (AAS-Hello-AMDS-ASU-iTunes) I get iTunes to start the first launch config, and then it crashes with 'is not properly installed error 42404 ".

Is there a way to start APSDaemon.exe manually?

    Any suggestions?

UPD: When I run the x 64 folder AAS VersionCheckMe.exe all else fails. Making x 86 past version control, but fails on "version of Windows, the name of the specified module. 1.0.0.1 < 1.2.0.0 >"

I went ahead and install QT for good measure. He launched and seems to work fine. Manual installation of the x 86 QT-bundled AAS fails because of the "new version", likely that of iTunes. Always the same problem with iTunes so

  • Cannot change ASA when recording RAW?

question, but I can't change the ASA when R5 is attached and RAW recording...

I realize that RAW is RAW, but I still think that you should still be able to view the ASA that will push you to post,

like how RED it with their cameras. Am I missing something? Thank you!

It would seem that followed EI LUTs are planned for the release of the 1.4 firmware.

  • Internet VERY slow connection on SD2008 connected to ASA 5505

I recently bought a SD2008 (2008/11/28) to replace an older Linksys 10/100 switch for my home network. This switch connects to an ASA 5505 to go to the internet. I have improved since most of my pc have 10/100/1000 and the new NAS I purchased also connects to 1000 so I wanted to speed internally.

The cries of network domestic now

    BUT...

Get out to the internet has now slowed to crawl of a lily "slowski". I used to get 16-18Mbps using the 10/100 switch. Now, I'm lucky to get 1 MB/s dl speed.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Too bad. I found the answer on a completely different thread that actually worked. I've linked the SD2008 to the ASA 5505 with a crossover cable, set the port speed/duplex AUTO/AUTO, restarted the ASA, and everything was back to normal.

So much for the detection of cut MDI/MDI-X auto...

    Hope this helps someone else.

  • How to open the port 161 on the ASA and Cisco switches for monitoring of BB

    Dear all,

I want to install BB to monitor snmptraps suffering of failure.

The newspaper shows BB cannot connect to all ports of the switch 161, and I even can't telnet to 161 XXX_17f for example.

My switches are Cisco C3550, C2950, etc. of the ASA.

Mon 7 Nov 15:43:03 2011 bbnet cannot connect to the server XXX_17f on port 161

Mon 7 Nov 15:43:03 2011 bbnet cannot connect to the server XXX_9f on port 161

Mon 7 Nov 15:43:03 2011 bbnet can't connect to XXX server on port 161

    Thank you

    Anson

no need to adjust anything in bb-hosts. If you have added setings in bb-hosts, delete them. Also remove associated in bbvar/logs log files. (otherwise, you'll have purple when you delete the SNMP, trap tags bb-hosts)

A column of trap will be that no show until the device sends a trap to BB.

  • Automatic configuration for routers, switches Catalyst and ASA backups

I am looking for a free solution to make monthly backups of my routers (2821), Catalyst (X 3650, 3750-X) switches and ASA (5510). I'm in a Windows environment and have you not mind doing a bit of coding.

I did some research looking at other popular solutions:

-SNMP and a combination of Bash scripts, but that does not support switches Catalyst from what I've read.

-Rance, on Linux & OS X, not something common in our environment

-Tools of Tao kiwi, not free

Is there something (or if applicable, somethings) that I am missing that will do this from a Windows environment for free?

    Thanks in advance.

Kron seems to be supported on the routers only, ASA here is a good explanation on how to collect the backups regularly:

    https://supportforums.Cisco.com/docs/doc-14958

If you are looking for a centralized solution and you machine to act as a collector, rancid is really the best option (if you can allow non-windows machines).

  • ASA version 8.4 for GNS3 IOS

  • To ASA with sourcefire CMF 5.4.1 services an other CMF 6.0.1

    Hello

I already have CMF 5.4.1 (virtual edition with Max 2 devices) in production, management of OLD pair of ASA-X-5525.

I already have an other CMF 6.0.1 (virtual edition with max 10 devices) in production management NEW pair of ASA-X-5555.

What is the best way to manage the OLD pair using the FMC 6.0.1, without losing configuration with minimum downtime and 5.4.1 FMC?

A given sensor will keep apply its settings configured if the FMC management is accessible or not. It will store events locally until the CSP is available.

Assuming that you have a single strategy defined on 5525-x, you can export strategies Intrusion and control of access from 2 Device Manager and then import them to the new CSP (System > tools > Import.Export). However, you will first need to upgrade to the same output level so that the schema of data would be compatible. If there is not a lot of customization, it may be easier to simply recreate an equivalent policy on 10 Device Manager.

You will need to re - host your licenses on the new CSP. This can be done through self-service portal licenses (www.cisco.com/go/license) or you can open a TAC case if the original license is not associated to your cisco.com login.

You must then remove the current handler on 5525-X ASA modules and add the new CSP. Add modules as managed devices in the new CSP, apply the licenses, and deploy policies.

  • How to configure ASDM Cisco ASA 5505

I have a Cisco ASA 5505 firewall, and currently it is a command-line firewall. I want to configure ASDM so that I can use it as a Web based GUI interface.

I don't really know what to do. Can someone help me please how I can configure ASDM on my firewall.

    Kind regards

    Naushad Khan

    Hi Naushad,

First of all, must load the image ASSDM on SAA and then use the command:

ASDM image dosk0: / asdm645.bin (if the image name is asdm645.bin)

    then:

    Enable http server

http 10.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 inside (if your machine is 10.0.0.0 subnet behind inside the inetrafce)

Go to the machine, open a browser and type:

    https://

    It will open the GUI.

  • ASA 5505 - password

    Hello

    I'm new with ASA devices

I have an ASA 5505, former Director of COMPUTING doesn't remember the password of it. I wonder what I lose the configuration on it if I reset the

    password?

If so, how do I download the configuration before you reset the password.

and how can I download the downloaded configuration

Thanks in advance for your time

    Hello

The Cisco document should detail the steps for password recovery.

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/security/ASA/asa72/configuration/guide/trouble.html#wp1058131

    Basically, what this does is

    • He starts the ASA without configuration
    • When his kick copy you the original to the ASA configuration
    • Since you have already started the ASA and have management access copy the old configuration to start the running configuration will not affect your management connection (in other words you will not be asked to authenticate)
    • In the meantime, you should be able to use the typical show commands to get the configuration copied to Notepad or even send it to tftp server I guess

There are several guides online or even on Youtube videos that go through the process more clearly than the simple section of the Cisco document I linked above.

You should not lose your configuration unless you somehow manage to crush

  • ASA 5505 IPS/IDS Module

    HI Experts,

Can you please give me an idea on what this module IDS/IPS for ASA 5505?

How much does it cost? How to install and configure to work with ASA 5505?

We have also a few site to site of ASA 5505 VPN configuration. This would affect somehow?

    Thank you very much

    ANUP

    ANUP-

You should be able to find the links that I provided for you with a general search on Cisco's Web site for 'ssc-5' and 'installation' and 'configure '.

No, you should still ASA terminate Internet access. You want to have the SSC-5 module (IPS) to monitor the interfaces from the INSIDE, (always wanting to make IDS/IPS inside a firewall). This way you can see the traffic after it has been decrypted on your VPN, and after the traffic has been filtered to your firewall rules.

  • IPS in ASA 5510 killing upload speed

I've recently updated by a circuit of ethernet metro 20 MB for a 100 Mb connection.  My ASA 5510 severely limits the my download speed.  I narrowed down it to the IPS module.  If I stop to send traffic to the IPS, I get speeds of download between 50-85 Mbps.  If I start sending through again, my download speeds are between 3-7 Mbps.  In both cases, my speeds range between 70-92 MB/s, so it's really affecting only my upload speed.  Is there anything I can do for my traffic IPS, so I can still use my modules and still take advantage of the speed upload huge we pay for?

  • ASA vs Sophos

We are running a cisco 5510 and seek to update. Recently a company sales person came and give us ground for sophos 650 and wanted to sell us. I have using the cisco long product and find them reliable and as command-line switches, routers and asa etc.

    They said is Sophos

    Performance of the service

    60 Gbps firewall throughput

    IPS throughput 16 Gbps

    AV, 5 Gbps throughput

    20,000,000 concurrent connections

I want my management to go to the power of fire ASA or cisco x series with IPS and other features. But what I understand is sophos is a small to mid level as cisco asa are large engrprise. kindly could you please suggest sticking with cisco asa (new model asa) will be a good choice or go ahead with sophos. I like the cisco command line and networked cisco for the last year 4 all entered vaule will be highly appreciated.

Sorry for the late reply but I was actually busy at last minute student :) CCIE

I reviewed the links so my original notice still stands :)

-If you look at the NSS labs Brach detection report Sophos is not found while Cisco is high enough

-If you look at the latest report from Gartner Enterprise Firewall that Sophos is quite low, while Cisco is high enough

-If you look at the latest report from the Gartner IPS you will see the same

Another cool thing, Cisco is this support forum. If you have a problem you TACS but also Google :) If you Google a related problem of Cisco, you get hundreds of pages of answers. If you do the same for Sophos you'd be lucky if you get 1 or 2.

I hope this helps! Good luck!
