ASA 8.4 (1) source-nat over vpn site-to-site
I'm setting up a tunnel vpn site-to-site and require nat for the local and remote side. The remote side will be nat to
10.2.255.128/25 on their face before they reach our network, so I have to only source-nat our servers via the tunnel to them. Should I just do the static NAT, then let the whole subnet through the acl of valuable traffic as the config below? I don't think I should use twice a nat because I'm not trying to make the destination nat on the firewall. Servers with us will 10.2.255.128/25 and I would like to preserve it through the ASA.
network of the ServerA object
host 10.1.0.1
NAT 10.2.255.1 static (inside, outside)
network of the object server b
host 10.1.0.2
NAT 10.2.255.2 static (inside, outside)
the object server c network
host 10.1.0.3
NAT 10.2.255.3 static (inside, outside)
the LOCAL_SUBNET object-group network
object-network 10.2.255.0 255.255.255.128
the REMOTE_SUBNET object-group network
object-network 10.2.255.128 255.255.255.128
VPN_ACL list extended access permitted ip object-group LOCAL_SUBNET-group of objects REMOTE_SUBNET
Thank you
Your configuration is correct, but I have a few comments. Remember that NAT occurs before the delivery of your servers will be translated into 10.2.255.2 and 10.2.255.3 and then sent through the tunnel, so your encryption field is correct.
Is your internet firewall as well? What your servers out of the internet? They will be translated to 10.2.255.2 and 10.2.255.3 and who will fail in internet routing is. If these servers access the internet through the firewall, I would recommend a configuration like this for each of your servers:
network of the ServerA_NAT object
Home 10.2.255.1
NAT static ServerA ServerA_NAT destination (indoor, outdoor) static source REMOTE_SUBNET REMOTE_SUBNET
This will use destination basic NAT for traffic VPN and NAT everything to a public IP address for the internet traffic. Of course, if this is not your internet connection firewall can do abstraction.

Disable the NAT for VPN site-to-site
Hello world
I work in a company, and we had to make a VPN site-to site.
Everything works fine, except that the packages sent to my site are translated, in other words: the firewall on the other site (site_B) see only the IP address of my firewall (Site_A).
I tried to solve the problem, but without success, I think that natives of VPN packets is the problem.
Here is my current config running:

Hey Houari,.
I suspect something with the order of your NATing statement which is:
NAT (inside, outside) static static source NETWORK_OBJ_172.19.32.0_19 destination NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.67.0_24 NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.67.0_24 NETWORK_OBJ_172.19.32.0_19
Can you please have this change applied to the ASA:
No source (indoor, outdoor) nat static static NETWORK_OBJ_172.19.32.0_19 destination NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.67.0_24 NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.67.0_24 NETWORK_OBJ_172.19.32.0_19
NAT (inside, outside) 1 static source NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.67.0_24 NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.67.0_24 static destination NETWORK_OBJ_172.19.32.0_19 NETWORK_OBJ_172.19.32.0_19
Try and let me know how it goes.
If she did not help, please put the output form a package tracer will shape your internal network to the remote VPN subnet with the release of «see the nat detail»

Static NAT enable VPN site-to-site.
Hello
We plan to build VPN site to site, but, we have a single public routerable internet IP address to assign VPN on Site A, but Site B is ok.
in this case, I think that we must use static NAT on the router, the simple diagram is as below.
internal a subnet - router VPN - router for Internet of the Site - to - VPN - B B Site internal subnet.
the final goal is to make the communication between internal a subnet and subnet B on IPSEC tunnel.
OK, as I said, Site A having a public IP address, then it must use the static NAT and need to apply on the Site router.
Router
interface x/x
Head of ESCR to the internet
NAT outside IP
!
interface x/x
Head of DESC to internal (VPN)
IP nat inside
!
IP nat inside source static (like IP address x.x.x.x) public (as private VPN interface IP x.x.x.x)
so, wouldn't be work without any problem? I think it will work, but I would find other one just in case.
Hey,.
Is that what you try to achieve:
subnet A - A = vpn router = router B - Sub-B network
and you need communicate between Subnet A and subnet via ipsec vpn b?

Hello
I just want to ask if it is possible to NAT pool users to remote access ip VPN to the router is outside the IP address? The router is a Cisco1841.
Thank you!
Patricia,
Are you referring to Polo your RA IP pool using your external interface just like you with your LAN subnets in ip nat overload?, if so this link illustrates similar example using the road map, PLS let know us if this isn't what you're looking for and if you could perhaps develop as that is what you try to accomplish.

I have a question about how the traffic is game and in what order to a tunnel L2L. See the attached diagram. Side ASA5520 I configured the 192.168.12.0/24 NAT 10.252.43.0/24 subnet addresses as follows:
Global (outside) 1 10.252.43.0 netmask 255.255.255.0
NAT (inside) 1 192.168.12.0 255.255.255.0
Now, I want to send traffic to the 192.168.12.0/24 subnet for the subnet 10.10.26.0/24 above the tunnel. Which addresses correspond to side ASA5520 of the tunnel?
I don't know if it should be:
to_pix525 to access extended list ip 192.168.12.0 allow 255.255.255.0 10.10.26.0 255.255.255.0
or
access extensive list ip 10.252.43.0 to_pix525 allow 255.255.255.0 10.10.26.0 255.255.255.0
Thank you
-mike
Please change the acl on nat0inside as follows:
nat0inside to access extended list ip 192.168.12.0 allow 255.255.255.0 10.10.26.0 255.255.255.0
Everything else is fine.

Hello world.
I have question about Site 2 Site VPN and NAT.
HQ is connected to the partner and the co-location through site to site VPN (with two different tunnels). Co-location is connected to the HQ with the site 2 site VPN.
HQ:
Co-location:
Partner:Basically, what I want to achieve is to do the following:
All traffic from the combination with destination partner should switch from AC and source what IP must be changed. So it seems that the traffic originated in the DMZ HQ on the side of the partner.
How can I achieve that?
HW: Cisco ASA
Hello Roger,.
The configuration you need will be on the ASA HQ.
First configure the ASA so that it would allow the traffic to leave through the same interface it came through:
permit same-security-traffic intra-interface
Then, you create a nat that an IP address of this beach (it will work if the partner does not need to go to the apartment, just camp to the partner):
policy-based-nat1 permit ip access list
NAT () to access list policy-based-nat1
(Global)
That is asuming that you already have a rule of traffic interesting (crypto ACL map) allowed your DMZ for flatsharing.
For a more specific example, see below:
Colocation network: 192.168.1.0/24
Network DMZ HQ: 10.10.10.0/24
Network partner: 172.16.10.0/24
permit same-security-traffic intra-interface
access list policy-based-nat1 permit ip 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 172.16.10.0 255.255.255.0
NAT (outdoor) 100 access list policy-based-nat1
global (outside) 100 10.10.10.253
vpn10 10.10.10.0 ip access list allow 255.255.255.0 172.16.10.0 255.255.255.0
10 correspondence address vpn vpn crypto card
If the partner needs to access the apartment so (two-way access) you may not use the DMZ network as there must be a translation from one to the other and you have the same amount of addresses to be translated you have on the apartment.
However, it would be possible if your DMZ network is greater than the apartment (like DMZ being a 16 and colo in 24) and you can isolate a subnet just for NAT.
Hope this helps to solve the problem.

some help me
(Q) ping remote ip unable on ASA is not Firewall not on pc (VPN site to site on SAA) configired no proxy, icmp not inspect, no chance
Note - I can ping PC but not the same subnet ip on ASA2 L3
PC---> > ASA1 - ASA2<>
Hi Matt,
Let me answer your question in two points:
- You cannot ping an ASA on another interface other than the one where you are connected to the ASA of.
For example, ASA1 and ASA2 are connected through their interfaces 'outside '. ASA1 (or any other device on the external interface) can not ping/access ASA2 on his (ASA2) within the interface. The only time wherever this can be substituted is a tunnel VPN with the command "access management" configured for other interface, for example management-access inside
- Traffic ASA1 ping to a remote client behind ASA2 won't over the VPN tunnel and as such is not encrypted. That's because ASA1 will forward traffic based on its routing table that probably this way through its 'outside' interface Except that traffic is allowed with the ASA2 (using the ACL), it will fail.
We can do on the routers of sourcing our ping to another interface, but it will not work on the SAA.

VPN site-to-site dynamic.
Hi all
One of the customers was a question.
They have an ASA 5510 and they will implement the vpn site-to-site dynamic, because some of their clients do not have a static IP address.
They want to know, if, rather than create a vpn for all new sites, they may have a single configuration vpn for all new sites they add.
Thank you!
Maybe you will find information in these discussions that will help you understand what it takes
https://supportforums.Cisco.com/discussion/11624431/site-site-VPN-if-rem...
This link has a good example of configuration of ASA to make VPNS pair that uses dynamic IP

On the Question of VPN S2S source NAT
Currently we have a number of implementation of VPN with various clients. We are NAT'ing range them at a 24 in our network to keep simple routing, but we seek to NAT Source our resources due to security problems. It is an example of a current virtual private network that we have configured:

My question revolves around the Source NAT configuration. If I understand correctly, I have to configure 3 statements of NAT per NAT Source since there are three different destinations that are NAT' ed. I think I would need to add this:

Is that correct, or is at - it an easier way to do this without having to add all statements of NAT? Moreover, any change would be to do on the access list?
Hello
To my knowledge you should not create several new instructions from NAT. You should be well just create a new Group 'object' for new addresses your source address NAT.
To better explain, take a look at your current ' object-group ' that defines your source addresses
the APP_CLIENT_Hosts object-group network
network-object, object SITE1_APP_JCAPS_Dev_VIP
network-object, object SITE1_APP_JCAPS_Prod_VIP
network-object, object SITE2_APP_JCAPS_Dev_Host
network-object, object SITE2_APP_JCAPS_Prod_VIP
network-object, object SITE1_APP_PACS_Primary
Now you can do this sets up a "object-group" that contains a NAT IP address for each of the IP addresses inside the ' object-group ' and 'object' used above. The IMPORTANT thing is that the ' object-group ' that contains the NAT IP addresses is in the SAME ORDER as the actual source addresses.
I mean, this is the first IP address is in most object - group ' will correspond to the first IP address in the newly created "object-group" for the IP NAT addresses.
As above, you can simply have the same "nat" configurations 3 as before but you change/add in the newly created "object-group"
For example, you might do the following
network of the SITE1_APP_JCAPS_Dev_VIP_NAT object
Home 88.88.88.81
network of the SITE1_APP_JCAPS_Prod_VIP_NAT object
Home 88.88.88.82
network of the SITE2_APP_JCAPS_Dev_Host_NAT object
Home 88.88.88.83
network of the SITE2_APP_JCAPS_Prod_VIP_NAT object
Home 88.88.88.84
network of the SITE1_APP_PACS_Primary_NAT object
Home 88.88.88.85
the APP_CLIENT_Hosts_NAT object-group network
network-object, object SITE1_APP_JCAPS_Dev_VIP_NAT
network-object, object SITE1_APP_JCAPS_Prod_VIP_NAT
network-object, object SITE2_APP_JCAPS_Dev_Host_NAT
network-object, object SITE2_APP_JCAPS_Prod_VIP_NAT
network-object, object SITE1_APP_PACS_Primary_NAT
Then you add the following configurations of "nat"
NAT (inside, outside) 1 static source APP_CLIENT_Hosts APP_CLIENT_Hosts_NAT CLIENT_Host_1_NAT CLIENT_Host_1 non-proxy-arp-search of route static destination
Static NAT APP_CLIENT_Hosts APP_CLIENT_Hosts_NAT static destination CLIENT_Host_2_NAT CLIENT_Host_2 non-proxy-arp-search of source route 2 (inside, outside)
NAT 3 (indoor, outdoor) static source APP_CLIENT_Hosts APP_CLIENT_Hosts_NAT CLIENT_Host_3_NAT CLIENT_Host_3 non-proxy-arp-search of route static destination
Note line numbers, we added the above commands. This allows them to enter the upper part of the ASAs NAT rules, and therefore, they will become active immediately. Without line numbers that they will only be used after when you remove the old lines.
Then you can remove the "old"
no nat source (indoor, outdoor) public static APP_CLIENT_Hosts APP_CLIENT_Hosts CLIENT_Host_1_NAT CLIENT_Host_1 non-proxy-arp-search of route static destination
no nat source (indoor, outdoor) public static APP_CLIENT_Hosts APP_CLIENT_Hosts CLIENT_Host_2_NAT CLIENT_Host_2 non-proxy-arp-search of route static destination
no nat source (indoor, outdoor) public static APP_CLIENT_Hosts APP_CLIENT_Hosts CLIENT_Host_3_NAT CLIENT_Host_3 non-proxy-arp-search of route static destination
This should leave you with 3 configurations "nat" who made the NAT source addresses and destination.
Naturally while you perform this change you will also have to change the ACL Crypto to match the new source NAT. This is because as all NAT is done before any VPN on the ASA. So the destination addresses are Nations United for before VPN and source addresses are translated before VPN.
If you do not want to make the changes without affecting the connections too so I suggest
- Add rules to the ACL Crypto for new addresses (NAT) source. Of course, this must be done on both sides of the VPN L2L. You would still be leaving the original configurations to the Crypto ACL does not not the functioning of the L2L VPN.
- Add new configurations of "nat" above without the line numbers I mentioned who mean you that they wont be used until you remove the "old".
- When you are ready to be migrated to use the new IP addresses, simply remove the original "nat" configurations and the ASA will start the corresponding traffic for new "nat" configurations. Provided of course that there is no other "nat" configuration before the nine that could mess things up. This should be verified by the person making the changes.
Of course if you can afford a small cut when then changing the order in which you do things should not matter that much. In my work, that connections are usually not that critical that you can't make these changes almost at any point as it is a matter of minutes what it takes to make changes.
Hope this made sense and helped

Cisco ASA VPN Site to Site WITH NAT inside
Hello!
I have 2 ASA 5505 related to IPSEC Tunnel VPN Site to Site.
A 192.168.1.0/24 'remotely' inside the network and a local "192.168.200.0/24' inside the network (you can see the diagram)
The local host have 192.168.200.254 as default gateway.
I can't add static route to all army and I can't add static route to 192.168.200.254.
NAT the VPN entering as 192.168.200.1 or a 192.168.200.x free to connect my host correcly?
If my host sends packet to exit to the default gateway.
Thank you for your support
Best regards
Marco
The configuration must be applied on the SAA with the 192.168.200.0 subnet it is inside, there must be something like this:
permit 192.168.1.0 ip access list VPN_NAT 255.255.255.0 192.168.200.0 255.255.255.0
NAT (outside) X VPN_NAT outside access list
Global (inside) X Y.Y.Y.Y (where the Y.Y.Y.Y) is the ip address
If you have other traffic on the vpn through the tunnel that requires no nat, then you must add external nat exemption rules since these lines above obliges all traffic through the asa to have a nat statement.
See if it works for you, else post your config nat here.

Cisco Asa vpn site-to-site with nat
Hi all
I need help
I want to make a site from the site with nat vpn
Site A = 10.0.0.0/24
Site B = 10.1.252.0/24I want when site A to site B, either by ip 172.26.0.0/24

but do not work.
Can you help me?
Concerning
Frédéric
You must ensure that there is no NAT 0 ACL statement because it will take precedence over the static NAT.
You don't need:
Global 172.26.0.1 - 172.26.0.254 10 (outside)
NAT (inside) 10 access-list nattoyr
Because it will be replaced by the static NAT.
In a Word is enough:
nattoyr to access ip 10.0.0.0 scope list allow 255.255.255.0 10.1.252.0 255.255.255.0
access extensive list ip 172.26.0.0 vpntoyr allow 255.255.255.0 10.1.252.0 255.255.255.0
public static 172.26.0.0 (inside, outside) - nattoyr access list
card crypto outside_map 2 match address vpntoyr
card crypto outside_map 2 pfs set group5
card crypto outside_map 2 defined peer "public ip".
card crypto outside_map 2 game of transformation-ESP-AES-256-SHA
outside_map interface card crypto outside
tunnel-group "public ip" type ipsec-l2l
tunnel-group "public ip" ipsec-attributes
pre-shared key *.
-Make sure that it not there no NAT ACL 0 including the above statements and check if NAT happening (sh xlate) and the
traffic is being encryption (sh cry ips its)

Cisco ASA 5505 VPN Site to Site
Hi all
First post on the forums. I have worked with Cisco ASA 5505 for a few months and I recently bought a 2nd ASA to implement tunnel VPN Site to Site. It seems so simple in the number of videos watched on the internet. But when I did he surprise it did work for me... I've removed the tunnels, a number of times and tried to recreate. I use the VPN Wizard in the SMA to create the tunnel. Both the asa 5505 of are and have the same firmware even etc..
I'd appreciate any help that can be directed to this problem please. Slowly losing my mind

: endHello
There are some clear problems I see on a quick glance. These are not related to the actual VPN configuration but rather the NAT configurations.
All your configuration of NAT CLI format above are configured as manual NAT / double NAT in Section 1. This means that the appliance NAT configurations have been added to the same section of the NAT configurations and scheduling of the NAT inside this Section rules is the cause of the problem for the L2L VPN connection for some.
Here are a few suggestions on what to change
ASA1
Minimal changes
the object of the LAN network
192.168.10.0 subnet 255.255.255.0
being REMOTE-LAN network
255.255.255.0 subnet 192.168.100.0
NAT (inside, outside) 1 static source LAN LAN to static destination REMOTE - LAN LAN
no nat source (indoor, outdoor) public static NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.10.0_24 NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.10.0_24 NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.100.0_24 NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.100.0_24 non-proxy-arp-search of route static destination
That means foregoing is first of all create 'object' that contain the local LAN and remote LANs. Then, it creates a NAT0 rule and adds to the top rules NAT. (number 1). It is essentially of at least one of the problems preventing the VPN operation or traffic that cross.
Finally, we remove the old rule that generated the ASDM. It would do the same thing if it has been moved to the top, but I generally find the creation of the 'object' with descriptive names easier on the eyes in the long term.
Other suggestions
These changes are not necessary with regard to the VPN L2L. Here are some suggestions how to clean a part of NAT configurations.
PAT-SOURCE network object-group
source networks internal PAT Description
object-network 192.168.10.0 255.255.255.0
object-network 192.168.20.0 255.255.255.0
object-network 192.168.40.0 255.255.255.0
NAT interface (it is, outside) the after-service automatic PAT-SOURCE dynamic source
No source (indoor, outdoor) nat Dynamics one interface
no nat (wireless, outdoors) source Dynamics one interface
no nat (servers, outside) no matter what source dynamic interface
The above configuration creates a "object-group" that lists all internal networks that you have dynamic PAT configured so far. It then uses the ' object-group ' in a command unique 'nat' to manage the dynamic PAT for all internal networks (with the exception of printers who had nothing at first). Then we remove the old PAT dynamic configurations.
Contains the command "nat" "car after" because it moving this "nat" configuration to the bottom of the NAT rules. For this reason its less likely to cause problems in the future.
network of the SERVERS object
subnet 192.168.20.0 255.255.255.0
network of the VPN-POOL object
192.168.50.0 subnet 255.255.255.0
NAT (servers, external) 2 static static source of destination of SERVERS SERVERS VPN-VPN-POOL
no nat (servers, external) static source NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.20.0_24 NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.20.0_24 NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.50.0_24 NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.50.0_24 non-proxy-arp-search of route static destination
The above configuration is supposed to create a NAT0 configuration for traffic between the network and the pool of Client VPN server. To my knowledge the old configuration that remove us is not used because the traffic would have matched PAT rule dynamic server yet rather than this rule which is later in the NAT configurations and would not be addressed.
no nat source (indoor, outdoor) public static NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.10.0_24 NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.10.0_24 NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.1.0_24 NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.1.0_24 non-proxy-arp-search of route static destination
It seems to me that network 192.168.1.0/24 is not configured from anywhere in your network. Therefore, the above 'nat' configuration seems useless, can be deleted. If I missed something and its use in then of course do not remove it.

no nat source (indoor, outdoor) public static NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.100.0_24 NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.100.0_24 NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.10.0_24 NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.10.0_24 non-proxy-arp-search of route static destination
Other suggestions
PAT-SOURCE network object-group
object-network 192.168.100.0 255.255.255.0
NAT interface (it is, outside) the after-service automatic PAT-SOURCE dynamic source
No source (indoor, outdoor) nat Dynamics one interface
The above configuration is supposed to do the same thing with the other ASA. Although given that this network contains only a single subnet it cleans the "nat" configurations exist that much. But the order of the "nat" configurations is changed to avoid further problems with the NAT order.
no nat source (indoor, outdoor) public static NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.100.0_24 NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.100.0_24 NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.1.0_24 NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.1.0_24 non-proxy-arp-search of route static destination
It seems to me that network 192.168.1.0/24 is not configured from anywhere in your network. Therefore, the above 'nat' configuration seems useless, can be deleted. If I missed something and its use in then of course do not remove it.
I suggest trying the changes related to VPN L2L first NAT0 configurations and test traffic. So who gets the work of connectivity, then you could consider changing other NAT configurations. There are other things that could be changed also in what concerns THAT static NAT servers but that probably better left for another time.
Hope this makes any sense and has helped

VPN site to Site with NAT (PIX 7.2)
Hi all
I hope for more help with config PIX. TBH I would classify myself as a newb on PIX, only dabbling in it every 6 months or so...
I have to configure a VPN site-to site between our UK and US Office, to replace our frame relay link. I have configured multiple VPN site to site on the before PIX, so am reasonably okay with the appearance of the config of who. What is a new concept for me is the needs of NAT'ing between the IPSEC tunnel.
The U.S. Agency requires us to NAT source addresses (i.e. 192.168.1.0) usable on their side address (i.e. 143.102.89.0). The tunnel must then be set to encrypt traffic between 143.102.89.0/24 and 172.24.0.0/14.
I added the following config and hoping to test it at the U.S. office happens online today.
If I Ping from 192.168.1.0 to 172.24.x.x source and run a SH NAT inside, the NAT translation seems good.
is the intellectual property inside 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 outside 172.24.0.0 255.252.0.0
static translation at 143.102.89.0
translate_hits = 4, untranslate_hits = 0Could someone please go through the following lines of config and comment if there is no error?
Thank you very much
Kevin

You can configure NAT/Global pair for the rest of the users.
For example:
You can use the initially configured ACL:
policy-nat-dallas-list of allowed extensive access ip 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 172.24.0.0 255.252.0.0
NAT (inside) 1 access list policy-nat-dallasGlobal 1 143.102.89.x (outside)
The static statement that you configured previously will take precedence over the above. So the printer gets statically using a NAT to 143.102.89.10, and the rest can do another ip address 143.102.89.x PATed.
Please note that for PAT, traffic can only be initiated from 192.168.1.0/24 LAN to 172.24.0.0/14, not the other way around.
Hope that helps.
