Asire R13 clickpad

Hello

I recently purhased a R13 Aspire and I'm really happy with it.

There is only one thing that bothers me: I can only press the cickpad in its lower part, the upper part appearing does not move. Is this normal?

Also, is it normal that my SPACEBAR is not illuminated when the others are?

Best regards

The mobile lower part of the touchpad is so you can left and do a right click. The upper part is not mobile.

  • HP Pavilion 17 Laptop: How I PERMANENTLY set the clickpad to disable when you use a mouse?

I know how to go into the settings and change so that the clickpad is disabled when the mouse is in use.  I leave the mouse plugged all the time because I don't like the clickpad.  However, I have to disable the clickpad whenever I restart the computer.  As if by magic, the parameter disappears whenever the computer is turned off.  I want him to stay permanently.  How to make that happen.

It is important here to ensure that you do not change ANYTHING else (don't hit the DELETE key on anything)

OK, right click on start, then run
    type: Regedit

    hit return on your keyboard

Yes, there are a LOT of things here, but it is organized.

you have the menu at the top, you want to hit edit and then find

    type: DeleteUserSettingsOnUpgrade

If you look at the bottom of the regedit window, you will see the location, and MUST say: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTP\Install

If Yes, then on the right side (in regedit window), you do a right click on the DeleteUserSettingsOnUpgrade, and click on edit.    Change a 1 to 0.

The logic here is the 1 means 'yes', a 0 would mean no..   We do NOT want the user settings to remove on the upgrade, so that we modify the value.

Once you make the change and press 0, you can go out, and that will solve the problem.    Note that you must always indicate the pilots to turn off the touchpad when an external pointing device is connected if you don't have already done.

The advantage of doing this, rather than turn off the touchpad, is that you can unplug your mouse to travel, and you don't have to make time before changes.

  • Disable the clickpad

I want to disable my touchpad permanently.
In trying to do so I accidentally deleted the synaptic driver clickpad.

Is it possible to disable the touchpad without the driver? It seems silly there is no mechanical button to turn off the thing.

Computer model: HP envy 15-J112TX Notebook

    Reinstall the Synaptics drivers

    Run Devmgmt.msc

Look under the mouse and other pointing devices

You should see Synaptics in there.

Do a right click on it and click DISABLE.

When you want to reuse again, just go back and press Activate.

  • Pavilion Notebook M1Y13UA #ABL: clickpad does not respond immediately when you tapoterez

    Hello

I have constant problems with the clickpad installed on my laptop. I can say that it is the touchpad/clickpad WORSE I've EVER had. It has been repaired twice by HP under my warranty coverage. First of all, they have changed a few son/cables inside and completely uninstalled Windows 10; Then, because the problems were still present, they installed a new clickpad, which changed the hardware. Some issues have been resolved, but others continue to be present.

At this point, I'm trying to any parameters used for the clickpad, via settings-> devices-> mouse and touchpad-> properties of the mouse-> settings-> properties for Synaptics ClickPad ClickPad, very often, but not always, the clickpad is not responding when I type the first time after that I was doing something else. When I type the second or third time, I'm finally starting to get answers. In other words, whenever I type somewhere - to close a window, to follow a hyperlink, to place the cursor in a text, to select a part of a text, etc. - my first tap does NOTHING. I must repeat my cock at least once more before there is a response. I can type very gently or hard, it doesn't matter. It applies both to pressure alone to double tap. It is the same for the two fingers tapping.

Pointing-> sensitivity feature is at its maximum. (If I reduce, the clickpad becomes even more that don't meet liked). Smart Sense functionality is almost extinct. (If I put it near Max, nothing changes.) Filter activation time option, which apparently blocks the clickpad for a certain period of time after you type, is zero. For the feature settings-> devices-> mouse and touchpad-> Touchpad (to help prevent the cursor to move accidentally while you type, change the time before work clicks)-> without delay. Turning or turn off of the button (on the clickpad) doesn't change anything. Clicks properly. All the drivers are up to date. All Windows 10 operating system up-to-date. When I attach my USB mouse, the mouse works fine, there is no delay in responses.

I assumed that contacting HP for the third time will be not successful. Anyone have the same problem? If so, how to solve it? Other users seem to have had a similar problem (http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Synaptics-Clickpad-Smartsense-M... but not found a solution.)

Thank you very much in advance!

I think that I recently found a solution (a partial solution at least) for this problem. The root of the problem seems to be the drivers supplied by Microsoft. The pilots, even new ones, for this clickpad are just horrible.

What is worse, updates to these useless drivers are installed in my system without any agreement from me either. Try to avoid updates, using a Microsoft program (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3073930 ), doesn't help - for the clickpad updates are installed in any case.

What I did to make my clickpad works much better is the following:

    1. Download a driver directly from the author of the clickpad, Synaptics (http://www.synaptics.com/resources). For my camera, I used "Windows 10 I2C v19.0.19.1 devices". Do not install the driver again, your system will you not allow to do so due to a 'new' version of the driver 'already installed '.
    2. Disable automatic updates of your operating system, using the Protocol according to (http://www.thewindowsclub.com/turn-off-windows-update-in-windows-10). This change is not permanent, you can always activate the automatic system updates, if you wish. Of course, if you enable automatic updates, Microsoft crap drivers will be installed automatically too, deletion of all other good drivers you have installed previously.
    3. Completely uninstall the driver automatically installed for the clickpad using Device Manager (you can advance this Manager by right-clicking the Start button). Restart the computer, as required in a message box.
    4. Install the driver previously downloaded from Synaptics. In my case, I don't have to install manually, my system installed this driver 'default', without doubt, as the only available driver for clickpad on my hard drive.

Here are the steps that I have lived to correct the problem. Now my clickpad is not as frustrating as it used to be. Make sure when you try these steps, they may not work in your particular case, because your computer might have a few important differences from my camera.

  • Synaptics clickpad fix - need driver windows 10 pilot with gestures

    Hello

I just upgraded to windows windows 10 8, then I have experinced the compatibility problems with the touchpad driver. I have uninstalled and installed a new driver link on another HP forum. The new driver fixed the problem and regained the touchpad abilty, but the new driver installed do not have all of the same commards as the use of two fingers to scroll up and down or maximizing and minimizing the use of two fingers on the touchpad. Does anyone have the link to download the new clickpad synaptics with the same functionality?

    Hello

    Try the following.

Download the Setup program of the Synaptics driver from the following link and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp71501-72000/sp71867.exe

A when you're finished, open windows control panel, open programs and features, right click on the entry "Synaptics Device Driver" and choose uninstall.

When this has completed, restart the laptop.

When windows has completely recharged, open your download folder, click with the right button on the setup of Synaptics and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  When this has completed, restart the computer again.

  • V15.3.17 Syaptics PS/2 Port ClickPad

    Hello

I have a laptop PC Envy 15, and scrolling (Syaptics PS/2 Port ClickPad) of the mouse is erratic at best. This is the case for two scrolling or one finger. Sometimes it works fine at other times I have to tap or wait or just keep doing both until I start to scroll. I tried the settings but nothing seems to work. It's very frustrating for such a high machine range having such a basic feature will not work smoothly without having to go through so many somesaults. Any suggestions? Is there a driver updeated easily accessible? My driver is v15.3.17.

    Thanks in advance,

    Ben

There is a new 15.3.29 driver. The problem seems to be resolved. It was more obvious on Web pages.

  • HP ENVY notebook - m7-k211dx: Synaptics ClickPad will not be disabled. Reactive after reboot.

Whenever I have disable Synaptics ClickPad using the option 'disable the internal pointing device when external USB pointing device is attached', it works fine until I restart. When I return in the options, it is still once unchecked. I tried to turn off the drivers, but they are grey, but wan't to avoid this meathod ultimately because it is not ideal for me.

    Action taken:

    • Update to the latest drivers.
    • Disable the cache and history cleaning software.
    • Try different USB ports.

(That's fine, but when I restart it unchecks itself)

    Thanks, Mike

    Mike,

Sorry it took me awhile. I have all the "Nitty Gritty" details if you want, but the "net-net" is the update of this option writes in "HKCU" and there is a "HKLM" in the register which is default location and never changes.

I managed to do that work by changing the corresponding section of HKLM in the registry. It not be "rejected" at each logon as the HKCU section seems to be. The ICON remained "hidden" which is what I wanted to happen with the change below.

Try this and see if it works for you!

    1. open Regedit.exe

    2. go to the location next to the register:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTPEnh

    3. Note the REG_DWORD value named - TrayIcon

    4. the numbers of data match this way:

    0 x 0000001 (1) DEFAULT = which is the active ICON

    0 x 0000011 (17) = animated ICON

    0 x 00000021 (33) = disabled ICON

    5. change it to what you have been wishing, in my case it was 21 Hex or Dec 33 for DISABLED ICON.

    6. exit Registry Editor

    7. restart to test or log-off/log-on to test.

NOTE: If REG_DWORD is not here, it is probably safe to add it, but in my case it was already there it was just the value 1 and never changed when I changed the settings. Only the section HKCU did who has always retired at the end of my session when I disconnected or restarted.

Let me know the results! I hope it suits it for you!

  • HP Pavilion P157 - its: Clickpad settings without saving

whenever I have disable pinch zoom setting clickpad Panel in turns after a reboot all solutions?

I think I found a solution!  After mucking around in the registry, try all kinds of things, moving key autour, with some PARTIAL success but not totally satisfying... something caught my attention...

    Open regedit.exe

    Navigate to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTP\Install

Note it's the LOCAL MACHINE, not the CURRENT USER.

Search for a key in the installation folder called DeleteUserSettingsOnUpgrade

Double click and change the value to 0

Now go back in the Panel of Synaptics, put all how you like and restart.  See if it holds.  It is now on my own, I still have to test it on another computer.

So, it's a sign that something strange happens behind the scenes, if the pilot thinks it is 'redeveloped' after each reboot... but anyway, if it works for now, good enough for me!

  • R13 (R7 - 371T), Raid 0

I read many reviews which mention that the R13 is configured in Raid 0. I want to buy R 13 (R7 - 371 T-78UV), which indicate the 256 GB drive specifications. This means that this model will be accompanied by a single 256GB drive installed and I have the possibility to add an extra drive in the future in the slot that would have been used to setup for Raid 0? To be more precise, can I add another disk without Raid 0 setting such that I can get the benefit of additional hard disk space for the already 256GB available? I read a review that said that the operating system should be installed again in order to substitute a Raid 0 setting. I did not know that a Raid 0 could be set unless 2 discs were present, but then I'm a novice.

There is a correction to the original answer you provided to have 2 drives to 128 GB with a RAID 0 Configuration. The method has been done on Haswell based aspires. The model that I asked is the Broadwell Aspire model and comes with a single disc of Kingston256GB m2 (Kingston RBU-SNS8100S3256GD) that is customized for Acer after discussion with Kingston. In my view, that the dimensions of the Samsung model correspond to the Kingston so I should be able to clone the drive and use the disc more capacious. I guess I could wipe the Kingston and place it in the secondary location and use it as additional storage since I am not intereted in having a RAID 0 Configuration. Do you agree?
