ask Firefox to remember the password if I get the wrong password

When I try to connect to my gmail and give the correct password, firefox asks me to save him.

But if I give a wrong password ask me and save it.

What is going on? any help please?

You can check the presence of multiple, case, versions of this name and password and for entries with an empty name.

  • Tools > Options > Security: passwords: "saved passwords" > "show passwords".

You can delete all data stored in Firefox with a specific area through "Forget this Site" in the context menu of a history entry ("" history > view history "or" view > sidebar > History "") or via the subject: permissions page.

Using "Forget this Site" will delete all data stored in Firefox in this area as bookmarks, cookies, words of past, cache, history, and exceptions, so be careful and if you have a password or other data from that domain you don't want to lose then check that back up these data or make a comment.

You can't recover from this "forget" unless you have a backup of the files involved.

It has no lasting effect, so if come back you on such a 'forgotten' site, then the data of this Web site will be saved once more.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

  • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
  • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

There are other things that need attention.

The list of details of the system indicates that you have an old version of Flash 11.4 r402.

Now... some websites add code to the fields on their forms to block the AutoComplete (which blocks also save connections), so that you can find some sites where Firefox will not save the password for this reason. It may be some workaround solutions, we discussed several times for Yahoo! mail, for example, but since they are long to describe, please post if the problem is specific to the site and provide if possible a link to the login form.

How can I permanently disable this?

You can disable password manager if you want to never store a name and a password.

    • Tools > Options > Security: passwords: [] "Remember passwords for sites".

Otherwise you can click on the key icon to the left of the address bar Firefox request to store a password and click on maybe ever to create an exception block.

In case you use 'Clear history of Firefox closing' or otherwise to clear the history.

    • do not delete Site preferences
    • Compensation of the "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, installation of software, passwords, and other specific data from Web site.

  • Is there a way to get Firefox to remember the password on a site that was chosen as "never" or "not now".

Remember passwords works OK for a new site. I have been using a different password manager and did not want Firefox to remember passwords, but now with sync option would get Firefox to remember passwords once connections, I marked "never" or "not now".

If you chose 'not now' it should ask you every time. The only time where it is not supposed to ask is if he did not remember a password, or you have already told him 'never '.

Despite everything, go to tools-> Options (or editing-> Preferences if you do not see 'Options' from the Tools menu) click the 'Security' tab, and then search for the [Exceptions] button and click it. You will see the list of sites you said FF never to remember a password. Select the one you want, or all of them, and then click the [Remove] button.

Revisit the site, and when you enter the password and press enter or click to connect, it should encourage them to remember this password.

  • How can I get firefox to remember my password on a site the popup "rember password" option does not appear?

I would like firefox to save my password on a site, because I always forget and need to make a new. but any firefox never propose to 'Remember password' on this site for a reason. can I do remember for this site?

No, sorry, a bookmarklet (if that's what you try) is a JavaScript code snippet that hacks the page open. Running it in a different tab won't help.

I have not tried these bookmarklets myself, but to run it, you copy the code to the Clipboard, right-click on the bookmarks toolbar and choose new bookmark, then passed to the location. You can give the bookmark any name you like. usually something short works better.

  • Firefox not remembering the names of user or password.

Do you hear the names and passwords in the password manager or do you mean that you are connected is no longer on to (remember to) Web sites after the closing and restarting Firefox?

There is a difference between remembering the name and the password in the password manager and a check box "remember me" on a web page.

The latter usually involves the creation of a special "remember me" cookie that is stored on your computer and which is sent to the server.

If that "remember me" cookie is deleted or is corrupted or is not send to the server, then the server remember that you and you must connect once again.

Websites to remember you and automatically log you in are stored in a cookie.

    • Create a cookie exception allow (Tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep such cookies, especially for sites Web secure and if the cookies expire when Firefox is closed.

Make sure that you run not Firefox in private browsing mode.

Compensation of the "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, windows pop up, installation of software and passwords.

Try select options: I can't find any information of when and when not to remember the history would be a good thing.

    Some uses for history:

    • Returning to a page you visited, but who did not favorite
    • Restoration of the tabs you had open in your previous session after Firefox starts

When you view the privacy preferences, I suggest to change the selector on Firefox will: use the custom settings for history to see which can store data categories Firefox.

Then you can decide if you want your research and me am recalled form entries, or if you want to erase some data on shutdown.

I suggest to these cookie settings:

    [X] accept cookies
    Accept third-party cookies: always
    Keep until: I close Firefox*.

    * For stay connected on selected sites, you can add them to the list of Exceptions

With the help of Firefox will: don't remember history starts Firefox in private browsing, automatic mode. Which is usually not necessary, because you can open a private window at any time in the menu for sites where you don't want Firefox to record history. See: private - browsing using Firefox without saving history.

  • Is it possible to set Firefox to remember the story for a while rather than all or nothing?

In previous versions, there was a choice to remember the navigation history for a number of days, but in the current version, the only choices seem to be remembering the story or don't remember the story, with no way to customize in the meantime. I don't want to have to clear my history and cache manually all the time, but I don't want not erased whenever I close the browser, either. Customization feature has been removed entirely, or have I missed something? And if she was completely removed, could it please be reduced? It is useful for those who want their browsing history more old should be deleted without deleting the history.

Then I activated Dashlane and the problem reappeared. People with disabilities and disappeared again.
