Aspire 6930 recovery

I had to change the hard drive on my Aspire 6930 running Vista. I installed a WD 320 GB drive in place of the original 250 GB drive.

Using 3 recovery disks that I made when the computer is new, everything seemed to install ok. However, when the computer tried to start, I got the following message: "Windows Setup could not configure Windows to run on a hardware on this computer." I have also an extra drive received a "settlement to Acer Recovery. Not sure if this should be used or how.

Hi Vince - Thanks for your reply.

My original disc that failed was a Western Digital 250 GB SATA drive.

I replaced it with a WD 320 GB drive, the hot spare seemed to charge up well, but Windows wouldn't start.

Finally, I tried a 250 GB Seagate drive - it worked like a charm.

Apparently the recovery disks you do not update your hardware.

He had to see the hard drive of the same size.

One of my clients gave me an Acer Aspire 6930. When I tried to bring up the laptop I have nothing on the screen to indicate to all life. But the disks rotate. I tried to boot from a Windows XP disk and still nothing on the screen. I tried FN + F3 and FN + F5, FN + F6 to no vail. I tried video routing using a HDMI cable and by repeating steps and received a 'no signal' on the external monitor and I tried the same process using a VGA cable for the external monitor and still "no signal". I tried to Flash the bios with a modded one since I don't know how to seprate the exe of the bios with insertng hex editor the usb flash drive and pressing the FN + ESC, and then press the power button and now the keys FN + ESC 5 additional seconds. • Aspire 6930 update hardware wireless card?

Please indicate on what wireless card I should buy an upgrade? Reason and detail as follows:

I'm happy with my 6930 but my ISP has indicated that my WiFi (Intel(r) wifi Link 5100 AGN) card is not suitable to receive the wireless download 100mbs (although the specification of 5100 seems to advise that it is capable of "n" standard).

I am a resident using the Virgin Media Internet service provider, which has just improved my download speed broadband 60mbs to 100mbs to the United Kingdom. My PC is an Acer Aspire 6930 Lap Top - running Windows 8.1 64 - bit adapter card Intel(r) wifi Link 5100 AGN.

On ethernet I get the full 100mbs, but the wireless receive only 60mbs (exactly the same as before the upgrade)!

Virgin support staff have reviewed my system and concluded that the wireless card is the problem remotely. Have you contacted support Intel who advise I have contact Acer support for details of what card I need?

So my question is "what card to buy?

    Hi Jack

    A result I think - all kinds!

Your link provided was an older driver than I was using already, but it prompted me to search the site of Intel once again and see if there was something else.

    I found the following:

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?AGR=Y&ProdId=3062&DwnldID=23492&ProductFamily=wire...

This seems to work much better and speedtest.net confirms that I read now about 75mbs - not quite the 100mbs on ethernet, but a significant improvement.

I'll stick with that for now.

Please accept my grateful thanks for your time, expertise and patience on this one - you're a star.

    Kind regards

  • Aspire 5742 recovery disc question

This is a long post.  I went through a lot of steps already.  I'm not an expert in technology, but I read directions well (most of the time), and my knowledge comes from working through the problems as they come.  I use a newer laptop to make different drives and disks.

I have an Acer Aspire 5742 Windows 7 hp 08. I had a few deep-rooted malware and decided to do a system restore. The system restore worked and the first thing I did was last updated from windows. There were 192 updates and it took a few hours for them to download and install. After the restart, while it was down to the 5 latest updates to install, a message appeared on the screen, indicating that updates failed, and all of the updates would return. Eight hours later nothing had changed. The screen looked exactly the same. I don't know if I did the wrong thing, but I assumed that the restoration was in an infinite loop and made a decision to perform recovery with my Acer OEM drives.

There is a system disk and the value of three with the Acer recovery disks. I don't know if all the recovery disks work exactly the same but in case they are not, I will include the information which has come to the screen. After the system disk is inserted and that windows support files, the options in this box Acer Recovery Management are-

Restore OS - OS restore to default factory default status. All the data on the C: drive will be deleted. (It was the option that I tried to use)
Restore the operating system and to keep the data of the user - only restore the operating system of your PC to the factory default. Your user account files will be transferred to C:\backup. This option does not remove the malware. (When I tried this: no user data were found on your computer)
Fully restore computer to factory settings - restore your computer back to the factory default state. All data in the hidden partition and the system partition will be restored. Before restoring, please delete all data on the hard drive (when I tried this: Please delete all files from your hard drive before you start.) This function will not work if there is no file on the hard disk.)

So by clicking on option 1, there's the box in the view of what is happening. The area becomes "restore the Destination."
The hard drive name: ST500LM000 - 1EJ162 ATA device
    Partition label: Acer
    Size 8.0 GB partition
    Copy of disk files.
Please insert the restore disc 1.
    Copy of disk files
    Insert disk 2.
    Copy of disk files
Insert disk 3 (it is 80% complete)
    Copy of disk files.

Shortly after that the disk turns on a message box appears saying "There are not enough disk space for the temporary files needed for this operation"

Press Ok. Wait a minute please. Acer boot screen then back "BOOTMGR is missing. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete.
Pressing C + A + earrings back to the boot screen Acer and return to "BOOTMGR, etc.".

The original crapped out drive and I replaced it with a hybrid 500 GB drive.  I have partitioned the hard drive for the upgrade of windows 8, which was offered when I bought the laptop.  I rarely used it, and it remained a 20 GB partition.  Think that the partition might be the problem I downloaded the portable computer Wizard mini partition my new tool and copied the files to a CD, a DVD and a flash drive.  All contained errors. Failure of the Conference on disarmament.  I tried another, he sounded like he was going to start and then returned to the screen BOOTMGR.  I pulled out a blank dvd, copied the file .iso from the score to it. The message on the screen: drive hard virtual cannot be mounted from image files or from removable media that is not formatted with the NTFS file.

I dug around and eventually find my flash drives. The flash player has a default FAT32 and I changed to NTFS (based on the above message) and formatted. I copied the file to the partition.  The message on the screen: a BONE was not found. Try disconnecting all drives that do not contain a BONE.  I made in all attempts above that I changed the boot order in the bios.

I tried another flash drive and kept the default FAT32.  It would sound like he was trying to start then:
PX - E61 Media test failure. Check the cable of
    Output of MOF broadcom PXE

What I am doing wrong?  What can I do to correct this player so that it be cleaned?

I forgot that I had an external enclosure for a hard drive, so I took out the hard drive for Acer and it subservient to my new laptop. I bought it when the original Acer hard drive became corrupt to try to look at the files. Here I am trying to understand the hard and a less complicated solution (for me) was at hand.  Of course, he had 4 partitions with only 8 GB for the Acer.  Don't know how it happened.  I am planning to wipe the disk completely and using the disks from Acer to start all over again.

Please accept my sincere thanks for taking the time to help me.  I learn something new every time I have to correct a problem and without the help of message boards I would be screwed.

  • The Acer Aspire BIOS recovery procedure

I ran BIOS update program accidentally in my Acer Aspire desktop on windows 10 PC, the program began suddenly and run in the DOS window, then it crashes before finishing, don't know what stage was when crashed on the BSOD, which needed PC to restart to the no reboot No Acer logo, black screen and PC beeps a long short beeps, tried to boot from USB but as long as the screen is black, I can't do anything, only to become recurring beeps.

You don't know how to recover the BIOS, if someone had this problem with the BIOS and manage to recover the BIOS, I very much appreciate their help on what to do.

    Thank you

Hi, thanks for the information and the link that I found very useful and informative, to find the good BIOS I couldn't find the option to select the operating system, the operating system is required to download the drivers only. I don't know how to deal with that and if the OS is or is not required when BIOS downloding.

I also found some information in the user manual on the version of the BIOS and how to recover the BIOS on page 25 failure, but it is unclear what BIOS to use the original during the expedition or the latest version or the other between two release dates?

What is meant by the wrong BIOS is specific, bad model, or an incorrect date?

    Thank you.

I look forward to hear from you.

  • Aspire 6920g recovery disk management

SOS! SOS! SOS! Inadvertently, I formatted my hard drive, including the hidden in the drives C: and D: without having to backup partition and my corrupted recovery disks. As such can't restore my system to factory settings which means including all the planned factory software. The drivers downloaded from the site Web presented me with an uncertainty of appropriate types especially the bios. I bought the laptop in May 2008. Someone out there which cud be kind enough to provide me with the recovery discs model wud be appreciated.

Reallly am desperate. Thank you and sorry to bother.

    PS,

Please do not plant bombs nuke or virus in your kind assistance.

You can order online recovery discs to http://store.acer.com and click on eRecovery. If the system says there is no disk recovery available for your model, this means that Acer is no longer able to provide the requested support. If this is the case, you must install a licensed version of Windows and download all the necessary drivers on the Acer site.

  • Acer Aspire 6930: hp laserjet M1132

Hello. I have a printer HP LaserJet Pro M1132 and 1 week ago, I filled his cartridge. After filling I installed in the printer, the printer worked fine, but I'm still getting low toner level alert. How can I remove this warning? Please, help me to solve this problem. If you have written come more, I'd be happy.
    Thank you and best regards,
    Sarkhan.

The screenshot that you have provided is only a reminder of the HP software that you have installed on your cartridge (as far as the printer can tell) levels.  If you don't want to be bothered with the notification, and then edit the "OK to be reminded after: ' drop to the bottom of the list of appropriate option.

There is no solution for low toner cartridges.  You must return as defective cartridge or buy a new one.  HP will not help anyone using reloaded cartridges or rehabilitated.  If you want to direct assistance from HP you use original HP cartridges.

  • Acer Aspire 7741G

    Hello world

So I have an Aspire 7741 G, witch, I got from my father after his death.

He always had problems with it, it has overheated, frozen and ran slow, he still had service, but they have failed to solve this.

I said that I live in Norway.

So after that I got the laptop, the first thing I did was reinstall it (ctrl + alt + F10), which has not helped with performance, however.

Next thing, I opened it up and found that the fan is not plugged, replugged the fan and he worked for the first time since it said the store. I was happy, but there no lst long my happiness. the video card was constantly freezing upwards, stop and I got errors on this subject. So I reinstalled everything with an installation Virgin windows 7 and then put all the drivers by hand. everything was good, but video card always freeze and stall the laptop. Since I already had all the latest drivers for the thing, I tried rolling back the drivers, still the same problem. I opened it again and look for the video card, before I got this pc from my father, I had one aspire 6930 with card nvidea inside, not the built-in type, witch is in my 7741G. In any case, inside of it, I found that the video card is soldered on the motherboard, so if I want to change, or it is bad I have the motherboard.

Now for my reason for this post, someone here has a good solution to my problem with the video card? or should I just ordered a new motherboard with the new video card on this subject?

Will it work to Flash new bios?

Maybe some specs for the laptop will help:

    Acer Aspire 7741G

Intel iCORE i3-380 2.53 Ghz (upgrade to i5-480 2.67 Ghz)

    4 GB of DDR3 memory

AMD Radeon HD 6370 M video card

    17.3 "HD + LED LCD

I have also problems with the wireless card, it can detect and connect to my network, but is wrong on the internet just says don't: no internet.

So, if someone helps cn, it would be well appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hello thomas,.

As the fan has been disconnected, it is best to change the motherboard (renovated). Many components have overheated.

  • 5420 recovery Acer extensa disk is no longer available... where I can find

I have an Acer Extensa 5420.  The hard drive has been corrupted, so I replaced it with a new 320.  I don't have the recovery disks.  I contacted Acer and they said that they are no longer available.  My daughter just bought a new Acer Aspire, I was wondering if I order the recovery disc for her new laptop will be that I could use to reinstall an operating system or do I have the original.  If I can't do it, where can I get the recovery disc for the Extensa?

    Hello

they are not the same models

you have an Extensa, you daughter has an Aspire

recovery discs are the model and the specific brand

see if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to factory back to top of page

with an Acer, you press Alt + F10 at startup to start the recovery process

and to make recovery disks it click on start - search under software Acer - then under eRecovery

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

  • Primary partition deleted in Windows Installer

    and now I'm stuck.

Long story short: I wanted to make a completely clean install of Vista on my Acer Aspire 6930, delete all my data in the process. So I used the factory Acer reset tool that seems to work, but then got stuck in a boot loop where he continued in the recovery to start tool and would not proceed.
I could find some installation disks of Vista to boot from and do a clean install. He went through much of the progress, but failed. I tried again but accidentally deleted the primary partition on the stage "where do you want to install Windows?
Now there are no partitions to select. The only available option is to load the drivers, but they are not all the drivers on the installation disc.

Now, I don't know how to proceed. I can enter the command prompt and run the part of the disk, but I don't really know what I'm doing there. list disk indicates:
Size of the disk # free status
    Disk 0 online 298 GB 0 B
    No disk 1 no media 0b 0b
    Disc 2 online 7634 B 0 B

I solved my problem. I had to do a cleaning of the disk and create a primary partition using DISKPART. Installation went well after that.

  • Batteries for portable computers are dead when you first start!

About 14 months ago I bought an ACER ASPIRE 6930 a Best Buy in the Canada. On the car driving home, I removed the laptop box, he turned and he began the installation of Windows Vista. The battery is dead (DOH!) until installation has been completed, and when I got home, I have plugged into the wall and tried to continue the installation/Setup program. The laptop does not start and Acer people said that I must refer to them (all the way to Texas) for redress. I asked my friend who is a technician to have a peek to see if he could solve the problem. He was able to successfully install Windows XP Pro on my laptop using a serial number provided by the college. After a year, the serial number being exhausted, and my office is now posted a message on the bottom right "you can be a victim of software counterfeiting." So my question is:

Is there a way I can install a version of Windows Vista (FREE) that was supposed to come with the laptop? I have my certificate of authenticity, serial numbers, etc. on a sticker on the bottom of my laptop. Can download the installation of Vista, then the installation files it will allow me to connect these information for a successful installation?

Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to provide. This laptop uses an Intel Core 2 Duo T5800 (2.0 GHz L2 cache memory, 800 MHz FSB, 2 MB). If I remember correctly, it was a version of Vista 64-bit.

How to get Vista recovery Media or the Vista recovery Partition on your computer back to factory settings.

There is no Vista free download legal available.

    https://secure.TX.Acer.com/rcdb/main.aspx?brand=Acer

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

They will tell you how to do this.

Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

Running an Acer Aspire 6930 with Vista.  Begins to start and then get a black screen and mouse won't get log in screen.  Worked very well.

    Hello

You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel - device
Manager - graphics card - Double click on - driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - then right click
on devices and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.

Another method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure)
CTRL + ALT + DELETE and on the tab process EXPLORER.exe and COMPLETE the PROCESS on this subject - then
on the Applications tab - lower right - new task - type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is reached
by tapping F8 as you start several times.

Black screen problems are extremely difficult to repair and all patch is usually on a base hit or miss.
That there is no information on a black screen as it is on a blue screen just adds to the
Difficulty. Often using a restore point or Startup Repair will have no effect. You can try a
Google to see the proposed repairs, whom some have worked however these cover a wide

The key used is of "recovery media" for Gateway/Acer/Packard Bell at least - from what I can find easily.  If the product key that you have in the above output (* - WJ2H8 - R6B6D-7QJB7) does not match the key found, ' drive genuine windows 7 in box with its own product key "-enter the box and try to activate.  If it does not-Yes, this is the product key that Gateway/Acer/Packard Bell (at least) used to install Windows 7 on all of its systems at the factory.

I followed exactly the instructions given by the site. I installed Windows Installer Clean Up, I then found three software MSXML and removed all three of them. Then, I downloaded the two files, msxml.msi and msxml4-KB936181 - enu.exe and installed in the order previously cited.
However, after that when I tried to install the windows update update recommended and I got error Code 643. I could not even install successfully the update more. I tried a manual version of the update, found and downloaded the file msxml4-KB954430 - enu.exe.
When a manually run the program, this is the error message that appears:
    "Could not open key:

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit on a laptop Acer Aspire 6930.
And running out of ideas on how to solve this problem.
    Help, please
    Gabriel

    Hello

Go to the free support, however check in Windows updates to see if it is already installed and also the
KB article to see if you still need (and there is a good change that you do not and that is why it will not
    install - it happens).

    It's this update
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/954430

    I hope this helps.
Rob - bicycle - Mark Twain said it is good.
