Aspire keyboard E5 - 571G letters stop working?

8.1 Windows x 64
BIOS has been updated recently, as well as the touchpad.

Sometimes my keyboard doesn't work, more specifically a set of keys: B N Y U H 7 and 8.
It is always those who stop working. I bought the laptop Dec 2014.

This happens when I start the computer or even in the middle of me playing a game or surfing the Internet. I noticed this only when I'm tryign to type something.

I pressed NUMlock to judge if he deal with it - don't. I've done close to the bottom of the laptop, remove the power cable + battery and keep the power button down for 10 seconds - no problem.

I want to update the keyboard driver - he could be the culprit and yet I can't find anything on the keyboard Acer drivers and manuals section. The touchpad has been updated.

The only way to make it work, is if I go to the control panel > troubleshooting > hardware.
Then a strange message appears at the end of scanning: some changes may not have been detected.   DETECTED (but a tick next to her).

Can anyone help please? It is a mobile phone fairly recent. It is still under warranty! However, I bought the Portugal and I live in another country where I don't trust how my phone is carried out by people here. Believe me, you wouldn't either.

Can someone help me find the driver for the keyboard, so I can update or maybe another solution?

How can you tell that I need to replace the entire keyboard only after 14 months? It's crazy. Do you mean that computers Acer laptops break it easily?

For everyone who has had this problem to do what I did. What I read on someone else who had the same problem - and a lot of people have it and has nothing to do with the material, but with the software.

Do not despair, here is the solution that has worked for me so far and didn't make me replace my keyboard like this man here says - what a waste of money.

(1) type in your search for windows: regedit.
2) go to computer > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > setting > Services

(3) scroll i8042prt (it's the name of my PS/2 keyboard in the system).

4) go to Enum > make sure your files NextInstance and Count are on hexadecimal number "1".

That's all.

Since I posted this, I've not had problems with the keyboard at all.

I hope that this will be your solution as well!

I recommend installing Acer Philips (drawn from the acer site) so you are able to see what available drivers, you can install and keep your laptop up-to-date. And no, Acer did not a driver update for the keyboard.

  • My keyboard for my Acer aspire switch 10 has completely stopped working

I use my Acer 10 for about six months and had improved to win 10 just now with no problems.  This morning the keyboard stopped working.  I checked the Tablet contacts, clean them with a brush and a cleaning and not restarted, no chance.  The keyboard when it starts allows me to enter the PIN code and I have a USB mouse attached to the keyboard that works, but none of the keys work when I am connected to Windows. If the screen times out and I try to enter the PIN code again, nothing.   I can navigate around using the mouse, but not have the ability to enter information on keyboard.  I'm stumped and would apprecaite any suggestions welcome.  Acer has been great so far?

I solved the problem!  It turns out it is 10 Windows that caused the problem.  Filter keys were turned on somehow and they disable the keyboard for users with disabilities. I discovered this on another machine when it happened too, but this time a unrecognized icon appeared in my system tray.  The icon has been for these filter keys and when I turned off their keyboard is back.  How this stupid thing got switched on I don't have a clue.  The original pc with the problem did not show a filter key icon in the system tray, so I was puzzled, did not know they existed.  Something for others to check if this is the case for them.  Thanks for your help.

  • Satellite A300-243 - keyboard and touchpad has stopped working

    Hello everyone

I have a serious problem in my Satellite A300-243. I installed a driver for external keyboard using a CD and once I rebooted both keyboard and touchbpad stopped working and to make any order, when I reached the vista welcome page.
What should I do because you know that even if I can't get into the windows to uninstall this driver.

Any way to do during windows startup?

    Hello

Why you installed a driver for external keyboard? I've never heard of such drivers

Anyway, you should try to start in safe mode and then you are able to remove driver external keyboard to the list of software. After I restarted in normal mode, the keyboard and the touchpad should work properly again.

    Hello

If you have a USB mouse wired and keyboard connected to your computer, and that they do not work properly, please check following things:

    1. Firstly, plug the USB into a different port on your computer. If they still do not work...

2 try them on another computer! and if the problem is still there, it would be easy for you to just replace. But is not likely to result in the mouse and the keyboard does not at the same time!

2 and if it's OK with another computer, which would be something wrong with your computer, and it could be from a hardware or software.

Just see how it is done up to now.

  • Keyboard and USB mouse stop working correctly with Windows 7 Professional x 64

I originally had Windows Vista x 64 on my computer (he's 8 months old, CPU intel quad core 2.0 ghz, 6 GB of ram etc.). I installed Windows 7 RC in July (new installation) and used until 2 weeks ago when I installed Windows 7 Professional edition (I reinstalled Vista and then installed the upgrade to Windows 7 by using the clean installation).

In recent days, I had problems with the mouse and keyboard (the two connected USB). Entries to start acting strangely. For example, using scroll in firefox causes the font sizes change in firefox, instead of scrolling and clicking on links opens the link in a new window, not in the same window. Right click stops running. The keyboard input will simultaneously strange - I can type is no longer (for example in firefox search boxes, or WMP), of if I type, it uses another command to open something, etc. I don't understand what is happening! However, after the reboot, the problem disappears and everything works fine, until the next time it happens (has happened 3 x now). I tried my mouse and keyboard in my old laptop and they both seem to work well. I have not received any pilot error / virus messages / dysfunction (Bitdefender 2010) messages of any kind, and as far as I know, all the drivers are up to date.
Anyone know what is happening? Is there something wrong with my motherboard? And if so, why are there no error message? And why things work again after the reboot? Help, please!

    Hello

Update the drivers for the keyboard and mouse should solve the problem.

  • My Bluetooth Mobile Keyboard 5000 stagnates and stops working intermittently

I have a Microsoft Bluetooth Mobile Keyboard 5000 running 64-bit Windows 7 Pro SP1. When it works, it's great, and I like the compact design and wireless. But in the last few months, I noticed a few problems which become quite annoying:

    1. When I'm editing, the keyboard seems often slow to react. For example, I often use combinations of keys such as Ctrl + C or Ctrl + X, and it's as if the keyboard does not have the CTRL key immediately, so I find myself by typing 'C' or 'X' on my choice. If I click Cancel and try again, it usually works after that. Or I'll click on an input field and start typing and it takes 1 to 3 seconds for the text to appear, but it usually everything happens, is not as if the keyboard is in decline in strikes, but just a delay. It's almost like the keyboard has a period of awakening to send data. It doesn't seem to be a way to control or override this behavior. And we don't mean to be away from the keyboard for hours or anything like that; Instead, it's time to switch between windows.
    2. At least once a day, just a keyboard unresponsive altogether. When this happens, I can go into my Bluetooth settings, remove the device, press the Connect button on the back of the keyboard to set pairing mode again (or usually it comes automatically drops back in pairing mode when I delete) and then plug it in again. He sails right through matching and starts working again... until the next time it stops. There seems not to be a lot of consistency to when this happens, but this is often when my boss stops by my office and asked me to show him something. Needless to say, not the best time for the elegant Bluetooth keyboard go toots upward.

The keyboard said it was MFG. 12/11, is less than 1 year old. Do I need better drivers? Can anyone recommend a troubleshooting step I've overlooked? The keyboard is damaged? I can send it to Microsoft for repair or diagnosis? Do I use? Thanks for any advice you can offer.

I checked that the drivers are up to date etc. I'm guessing that he pressed a series of buttons to lock the jury. If I try to open folders on the internet browser, it tries to open all the sites in this folder also. No idea how to fix this please.
