ASUS HDD crash reinstall question

My hard drive crashed on my ASUS A54C laptop. I bought a WD Black 500 GB hard drive and installed Win 7 Pro.  I then went to the ASUS website and downloaded the drivers needed to get the laptop to function. So now how can I check & install all the drivers and applications specific to ASUS that came with it again?

Thank you.

You should have used the recovery disks that you created when you received first the computer to reinstall the operating system.

It is the only way to get the ASUS installed programs.

Contact ASUS support, they may be able to provide the recovery disks.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro reinstall question (OSX 10.11.2)

    Hello

A few years ago, I bought a Suite CS5 (Mac), which includes Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro. It worked fine until I recently did a new install of OS X El Capitan. The problem looks exactly like this post: Acrobat Pro 9 reinstall question (OSX 10.10.3)

Unfortunately, Adobe has not given an answer on how to resolve this issue, that's why I'm reposting this again (as it is the only way to get in touch). I do not understand that the product is old enough, but in any case, I should be able to use it – I'm not updates, bugfixes etc. Other applications such as Photoshop CS5 work correctly. Why not Acrobat?

Any useful for this response is very much appreciated!

    Thank you.

    Hi sebastiank99663506,

Acrobat 9 is not compatible with Mac OS 10.5 above, please make sure that you use the application on a platform compatible Adobe Acrobat required configuration.

In an incompatible environment request may or may not work.

  • Startup on Asus N76V crash (4000 HD Intel / Nvidia GeForce GT 630 M)

    Hey,.

I have an asus N76V, which uses this strange mixture of 2 graphics cards 'work together': Intel and Nvidia. 4000 Intel, Nvidia GT 630M.

    Short list of information:

(-) Operating system is entirely new (win7 64), no additional request that could be harmful. First ever ran to this subject now, so its initial use

-) Version change of driver (I played along) NVIDIA got the first application to work, but only for about 30 seconds, even without userinteraction, then ntdll.dll related crash

(-) At the moment I have the latest Nvidia and intel inf, as well as the al OS, first updates update blocks now directly before the rendering of the user interface

(-) I read on nvidia optimus stuff that seems to be appropriate to the technology of my laptop, but I found no anyithing in the BIOS or similar to turn, do not know if I even

(-) for more information: we do not choose what graphics card is used, the screen is connected to the intel, Applications must take care of some special stuff from NVIDIA to make use of nvidia, even when you set default GPU 3d rendering in Nvidia Control Panel for nvidia (stuff of very advanced knowledge as it seems) card

(-) Operating system and application reinstall do not work

-) Compatibility mode windows 7 or other do not work

-) Lance administrator do not work

Establishment of start-) Ctrl-Shift are not working

After about 5 hours to play and ruin my brand new OS Setup with driver versions, I give up.

For driver version stuff, I need accurate information on both NVIDIA and Intel version of the driver that is needed to run it.

Do you see a chance to get this working without spending another day of work? -I prefer to buy another machine rather than spend days with debugging the issue.
You should know, I only need the substance running for reasons of development and support, so I don't like too much about the performance and ALL GPU related things.

It would be better to just disable the related things GPU...

Another thing is that I do not know how to activate the logs for the first, is it possible? Like that I'd at least possibly be able to understand the case its on intel or NVIDIA driver.

    Thank you
    Harry

    Problem seems to be resolved.

After you disable the card NVidia, first was (see above) crashing after 30 seconds, even without loading any project or any other intervention by the user.

Solution was walking across this list:

    http://helpx.Adobe.com/x-productkb/global/troubleshoot-system-errors-freezes-Windows.html

Basically, after all, I did it (above), there was only the question of the userprofile left. After you have created a userprofile vacuum and from first, it worked.
I guess that the problem of crash of 30 seconds has been linked to certain Nvidia driver settings that I've done more sooner in order to study the problem (set nvidia pay-per-view where the creation is performed on or similar), even if the NVidia card is disabled.

  • HD's crashed, reinstalled the OS, how Firefox keep my Bookmarks Toolbar?

This isn't really a problem, but I wonder how it happened, if someone can explain it.

I had a hard drive crash, so I replaced and installed openSUSE Linux. From restarting after the installation, I opened Firefox and my Bookmarks Toolbar has been the same, with additions, that I had done for personal sites (some Linux help sites and job search sites, I added) before the crash of HD.

I don't use synchronization, which is not part of the equation, unless there is an aspect of synchronization, which is enabled by default.

By curiosity and a sense of wonder about safety, my question is this: is it bookmarks bar of information stored somewhere in the depths of a server to Mozilla/Firefox (or elsewhere) and how did my new installation pick up my Bookmarks Toolbar personally updated the to be used in the new facility?

That would be the question for openSUSE support, if you use the version of Firefox that comes with openSUSE.

The version of Firefox that comes directly from Mozilla [that you have installed yourself] is not active by default Sync. The version of openSUSE may have their own function for this, but I doubt that real if it is enabled automatically without your knowledge, or if synchronization is automatically turned on or the other.

  • Flash Adobe crash drive (/ questions/962745)

Reading the threads on Adobe Flash crashing, I have disabled protected mode and it worked. I can now see the videos on YouTube that caused the Flash Crash! How will I know when re - turn on protected mode? I will not lose my time to switch to another browser or the construction of a macro to press the switch "protected mode" and the.

One of the links to disable the protected mode:

You talk to consider a macro, another option would be writing a batch file. I'm not aware that someone wrote an addon (or even if it is possible). Of course, it is easy enough just keep a copy of the two mms.cfg file and rename such as required, which is likely to be that the method will use more for that turn on and off.

Protected mode has caused problems for over a year now and I'm not really optimistic he'll get all the patches. Firefox Aurora has an experimental crash reporter that should help get to the bottom of some of the problems Flash but I don't know when or if that will remove for regular versions of Firefox.

NB. for more information, one of the sons on Flash blocks is/questions/962745 , but it's probably better looking

  • Tecra HDD crash - how to retrieve some important data?

It is a follow-up question to my last question answered successfully.
My Tecra 60 GB HDD has stopped working and I would like to get a few days of emails etc if possible.
The Tecra default Mode options without failure, once launched, returns via a BSOD no matter what the safe mode option is taken.

    I have:

the HARD drive via a box connected USB to my other PC and finally it say that there is an input/OUTPUT error.
Ran CHKDSK through my CD of XP and after 26%, he says there are one or more unrecoverable errors.

This means that you are not able to get access to the same HARD drive using an external USB enclosure?
It seems that the HARD drive is damaged and in most cases, the data could not be retrieved on the usual way.
Of course, there are various services of data recovery, but they charge between 500 and 1000 to try to save the disaster either logic or mechanical data.

There are also different tools that could be useful as RecoverMyFiles of GetData, Ontrack EasyRecovery DataRecovery or Data Rescue II of Prosoft, but you have to pay for all these professional applications

  • Need HDD crash factory disc to restore Windows XP pro laptop ZV6000 system

I've had this laptop since 2005 and needless to say that "never had a problem" until now without warning the HARD drive took a nose dive and surfaced with the message "No. OS AVAILABLE.  I did research online and found that HP had a CD called HP Quick Restore disk that was NOT included (unknown to me at the time) with the laptop when the appliance has been delivered.  I have all the documents on this device and it was purchased from the online store HP as a laptop custom because I had to pay extra for WIN XP PRO, 12 CELL LITHIUM BATTERY, DVD DRIVE, ETC...   IF I had an IMAGE of the drive I was going to just replace the HARD disk and empty the IMAGE of her and do with it, but now I am looking for information on how to get this HP Quick Restore disk CD because I need to copy RECORDED in WINXP PRO and the KEY and all additional software and drivers required for the ZV6000.     Hope someone can point me in the direction...

Thank you Paul for advice and link to the surgeons of the computer.  I ordered their share restore disks and reinstalled the system without any problems.  I think the HP website: NOT very friendly for users looking for information about the systems crashed unless you have a credit card.  This was a lesson well learned when paying for software that has been installed on ANY PC, that I'll make sure I get ALL disks Setup as a backup...

I uninstalled "add and remove programs" but folders in my c:\Program files\ relating to Imaging HP\digital and many other things

Can someone tell me if any of these files are associated with the my Compaq computer? (now owned by HP) and which are safe to delete in c:\program files and the registry (run - regedit)

Really appreciate any help you can give to help me identify what I can safely remove.

I had problems trying to install the software after my computer has been reformatted (windows xp)

    Hello

I think Revo is not to find anything because the software is uninstalled mainly and only let certain files and registry entries behind.

Yes, you can delete the file below.

c:\Program files: digital imaging, HP Software update. Non-conducting components IOC; Assistant product; Temp.

I would also download and install ccleaner on the link below.

    http://www.Piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard

First, run the cleaning utility file and then use the registry cleaner by selecting in the icon on the left.  Click scan for issue and when the analysis is complete, click on fix selected issues, save when you are prompted, and then delete them.  Repeat this process until no questions are.

Just as an additional note, I always found the free version of Revo Uninstaller to be very good.

  • computer crash; Reinstall vista without an installation disk.

so, I got windows vista already installed on my computer when I bought it. my computer recently crashed and I had to get everything removed from my computer. now, try to reinstall vista and I have no cd to install it again. I have the key that I need on a sticker on my computer, but need help to find how to reinstall vista without the disc! Help!

How to get Vista recovery Media and/or to use the Vista recovery Partition on your computer.

There is no Vista free download legal available.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

They will tell you how to do this.

Every computer manufacturer has their way of doing recovery disk/s.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • Computer crashed, reinstalled as the new system, Windows LR 4 upwards, but none of my collections are here.

How can I find the missing collections?  How will I know where LR stores its backup?

How to load LR to find photos and records which he addressed missing?  We are talking about thousands of images, typical for any user of LR.

Always on LR 4.  Reluctant to up to the cloud.

I have two drives on my system - C drive, semiconductor, contains only the software.  Drive E, regular, holds only data, including all my photos.  I don't have pictures in my pictures, but in their own special folder.  The two are backed up on an external drive every day

Concerned as I can I have lost backup LR on the old C drive which wiped.

I did it!  I did everything by myself, with a little help of Julianne Kost!  Thank you, Julianne.  You're really a wonder woman.  No thank you 57 people who read this post on the forum.  But if one person reads this and it saves some time, then this time will have been worthwhile.

My main computer crashed and Windows must be reinstalled as new factory condition which means that allll software should be reinstalled.  Good news, it of that I had saved important files off my old C drive and had a doc with all my product inside keys.  I have re-installed LR, but first, he could not see one of the photos.  Yesterday I got this task performed using an order catalog import, but I must have chosen the wrong catalog.  Today, I watched the tutorial of Julianne on Lightroom backups and found that indeed there is a path where LR tells you where is stored the magic catalogue and I got it in my old folder.  I looked under C/Windows.old/Users/Carol/MyPictures/Lightroom and there is - a file called Lightroom Catalog.lrcat.  Went to import another catalogue and chose this one and waited very long.  Finally, all my collections arose, all the flags, the rankings, the kinds, presets, etc are here.  It's magic.

  • Hard disk crash, reinstall Adobe CS6 and LR 6 Progs.  How should I treat the activations?

Hello.  I have two questions, and both are presented here because they are linked to the main problem.

    Question 1:

I had a hard drive failure.  I lost my operating system and applications.  I am aware of the issues with Adobe software activation.  I am a registered user of Adobe CS6 and Lightroom 6.  I need to reinstall, but I don't want the activation count against me, as I also want these programs on a laptop.  I can't 'turn off' these programs as the hard drive failed.  I have more access to this broken system.  I reinstall my whole system.  How to achieve this?

    Question 2:

I bought Lightroom 6 an update of Lightroom 5.  Since I had the hard drive failure, and I guess I'll get help with question 1 above, must I reinstall Lightroom 5 first?  I would prefer not to reinstall Lightroom 5 I want the new installation of the system to be as clean as possible.  Please notify.

    Hi all

I own a Toshiba Portege M800-107, I recently installed windows 7 (ultimate edition), which has improved the capabilities of my laptop. The only problems I see are:

    (1) the utility power management, when I install the necessary drivers on the official page of Toshiba, the problem is that the package of added value is installed without the power management. For now I have more to come the problem using power options offered by Windows 7.

    (2) the biggest problem is the HDD Protection Utility, that whenever I try to install the driver from the official site, it stops the installation with the reason that "material is not supported by this computer.

Out these problems the laptop works perfectly and quickly.

If someone could help me with my problems, I would be very much appreciated.

There is no special tool of Power Saver for Win 7. Value added package provides a few additional options that you can find in Win 7/Vista power management.

The HDD Protection Utility using the acceleration sensor built into the computer.
The point is that there are different M800 market and possibly your M800 does not support acceleration sensor. This could be the reason why you can not install this tool.

  • ASUS G71 crashes

My son bought a laptop from ASUS Sunday for the school play. He needed a top PC high-end graphics and design of the College games.
Out of the box with Vista loaded this operating system was total %c ^ p from the go. I've never had problems with XP has this POS. I am constantly the BSoD in the delivery of programs. After tweeking the thing for 4 hours I finally had to connect to my network without wire from House. Last night was the last straw. He has about 13 updates and I fell asleep he let it go. My son went to use and had a black screen stating cannot load operating system, please insert the recovery disk disaster. Now, we're back to one day having to reconfigure the laptop. This thing is barely 2 days old, and so far we had any other problems with Vista. If I had my way, I would throw it and load XP SP3. MS does not test their updates before release and cause all sorts of death and destruction?
I'm almost ready to pick up that laptop and buy a Mac.
I saw there is a SP2 update for this software, I dare try and install it, and if so, what are the chances that it will solve my problems?

    Hi ms14796,

I recommend you to install SP2 on the computer because it is a package in which all updates are present. However, I would ask to install SP1 if it is not installed, as SP1 is a prerequisite before installing SP2. The new features and improvements in Windows Vista SP2 of Windows Search 4.0, Bluetooth (BT) support wireless, BT 2.1 fixes, new VIA 64-bit CPU and server performance improvements for printers and of course print spooler, a lot of application compatibility updates.

Service Pack 2 (SP2) for Windows Vista supports new types of hardware and new hardware standards. This service pack includes all updates that have been delivered since SP1, and it simplifies deployment for consumers, for developers and it professionals.

Workers who know you maybe also because of hardware problems. However, I suggest you to install SP2 because there a lot of updates. I provided you with a few links that will help you to decide if you need to install SP2 or not.

  • Win 7... reinstall question?

But I want only to reinstall my C: partition where windows is installed.

I have the recovery disks and recovery partition, but I don't want to restore my laptop to 'factory settings '. Now, there's performing a recovery system (Windows 7) HP support page, where its listed in the type of recovery: "System Recovery: this option reformats the system disk (usually C, reinstall the original operating system and reinstalls all the original hardware and software drivers.). System recovery does not affect the user created partitions. If there are two hard disks, System Recovery only changes the drive with the operating system. »

I want to do, but there is no step-by-step instructions how do this, and I don't want to waste my time to experiment and research more far.

Here are the specs from the factory for your HP Pavilion dv6-3157ez Entertainment Notebook computer. Please see for general instructions on the use of these recovery options using the system recovery, Factory Reset, and reduced to a minimum of Image Recovery Options .

Please note: Depending on when the computer came out, the Recovery Manager installed on it was developed by two SoftThink, CyberLink, or by HP. Not all computers will all have three options, and your computer may not support the 'System Recovery' option.

    If your computer supports the "System recovery" option, you should see a screen like below with "System Recovery as one of the choices. If 'System Recovery' is not in the list, your computer doesn't support;

  • Advice needed w / BlueScreen crashes & other questions

My problems with my PC started to happen a week ago, so things are a bit cloudy, but I'll try to describe what happened as best as I can:

I have a Core 2 Quad Core 2.4 ghz Dell PC games with a Nvidia 8800 GT 512 MB series video card. I believe that I have Windows Vista Home Premium 32 - bit OS. He brought me 3 years of great gaming experiences. He ran all the games that I threw at it. Last Friday, I decided to try one of those to play online MMORPG. If after downloading and installing the game, I noticed that my monitor turns off during the game. I thought nothing of it at the time I thought it was characteristic's fiery energy saving. Since it was my first time, the game, I thought maybe it was a common problem in this game here. Saturday afternoon, things started to get worse. By practicing a game I have played several times before this incident, my monitor has started to fade in the middle game. When he came back it is on the "Blue screen" screen of the failure. This has happened several times, each to say something in the sense of "display driver has encountered an error and could not recover. When I clicked on more information, it was this: (re-written by hand)
    Signature of the problem:
    Name problem: BlueScreen
    The system version: 6.0.6002.2.2.0.768.3
    Locale ID: 4105
    More information about the problem:
    BCCode: 116
    BCP1: 869 5510 C
    BCP2: 90A10F20
    BCP3: 00000000
    BCP4: 0000000D
    OS version: 6_0_6002
    Service Pack: 2_0
    Product: 768_1
On the solutions tab, he registered 4 options, all involving updating drivers display but in different ways. I went to the Nvidia site and downloaded and installed the latest drivers for my graphics card. It does not help at all. Then, I downloaded the latest virus definitions and tried to launch a complete system using Norton virus scan twice. Other a few tracking cookies, it says that my machine was clean. I ran a full scan of the system with Malware Bytes. This program, said that my machine was clean as well. I then disabled Norton, allowing me to perform a system restore and I went back to a date before I met problems. The game I tried to play always kept crashing in the middle game, back to the blue screen. At that point, I gave up for the day.
When Sunday rolled around, I tried to turn on my PC and couldn't even get into windows. It just kept crashing repeatedly on the blue screen once I put my user password. After the safe boot mode, the problem seemed to go away. I might actually get into windows in normal mode. I tried to play the same game as I was the day before. This time, instead of crashing on the blue screen, my screen would glitch out with distorted on the screen and flickering before the freeze tasks and forcing me to power down by holding the power button. After reloading windows, my screen would always twinkle randomly, this time outside of any game. I tried to load other games, and they have froze as well. I could always watch movies without any problem.
Monday is when my PC bit the dust. I was getting flickers of light on the screen. Sometimes the screen would just go black, then the screen would be cut off, back on, again and again. Sometimes he just would go black and never arrived, forcing me to turn off the power button. Then when loading windows, it would be just a black screen, showing only the cursor and the loading sign. When I booted in Safe Mode, the colors of the screen became distorted and my screen went in the lowest resolution possible. Now I see only the basic colors, and the resolution can not display even all my icons on the desktop, because it is so extended. I think that by default, the display is stuck in 1 lower than 800 x 600 resolution. I can't change the resolution. If I try, nothing happens. There are distortions for reasons that appear when you start the computer to the top.
Is it possible to fix my computer
? Now my computer is pretty useless. Is it a super virus that destroyed my computer without even being detected by anti-virus programs? Or has my graphics card decide to have a magma down? I hope to exhaust all other options before to go out and spend $ 200 on a new card and I would come if I discovered that the card wasn't even the problem.

I think that your video card has probably seen its best days. If you Google BCCode: 116 and follow some of the many threads, 116 leading usually to the graphics card. Because you tried latest drivers without improvement, and now the Display Mode without failure is affected, the replacement may be your only option.

You can see the rear panel of your Dell to see if he has a VGA connector for onboard video; the nVidia 8800 GT may have been part of PC games package.

BTW - you should be able to find a good nVidia adapter based for under $ 100

The manufacturer of the Chipset Newegg.com search result: NVIDIA
