What is a .net 4.0 security update?
If so, try this:
Credits go to jacvc and Control_tps (http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistawu/thread/ee945c20-a8c1-4b82-9b4c-d6dfae4c5337)
Try the following steps, please:
1. go in programs and features, click on it. 2. scroll to the bottom for Microsoft.Net Framework 4 Client Profile, do a right click. 3. we will give you a choice of uninstall/change, click it. 4. then it will give a choice to repair, choose repair. It will take about 4 to 10 minutes to repair (with my PC), your experience may vary. 5. Once finished, go to your update and new Update Center.
If this doesn't fix it, try to remove .net Framework 4.0 with the .NET Framework Cleanup Tool (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/08/28/8904493.aspx), reinstall .net Framework 4.0 and try to reinstall the update.

Windows 7 Professional loses the default printer at least once per day
Since I use Windows 7, I have to go into the control panel and set the default printer, at least once a day. The next time I need to print something, none of the printers are set by default. All printers are visible in the control panel that none of them are by default. Note: The same thing happens on several computers running Windows 7.
I did not assume that Remote Desktop is involved in your configuration, because it resembles an old question of Terminal Server services. Alan Morris Windows printing team seek here Microsoft Knowledge Base: http://support.microsoft.com/search/Default.aspx?adv=1

App tabs keep disappear when firefox is charged - at least once a day!
App tabs keep disappearing in 64-bit Windows 7 at least once a day?
(PIN) App tabs and groups of tabs (Panorama) are stored in session data [1] in the sessionstore.js file [2] in the Firefox profile folder [3].
Make sure that you do not use "Clear recent history" to clear the 'browsing history' when Firefox is closed because who wins and prevent Firefox tabs from the previous session.
- [1] http://kb.mozillazine.org/Session_Restore
- [2] http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js
- [3] http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox
It is also possible to use the "Show my windows and tabs from last time" parameter, which is generally a more reliable way to restore the session data.
- Firefox/tools > Options > General > startup: "When Firefox starts": "show my windows and tabs from last time '.
If you like CCleaner cleaning software, then make sure that the Session is disabled in the parameters of the Firefox application.

After having downloaded and installed the new Firefox 4.0, I learned 2 extensions could not be installed. A notice would monitor the compatibility and availability and would notify me when those extensions are available. So who's going to happen, I prefer to use Norton Security when searching on the web and don't know what did Microsoft NET Framework, so don't know how important it is.
Symantec needs update their Firefox Add-ons to make them compatible with Firefox 4. They indicated that, for Norton 360, they plan to release a update of Norton 360 to support Firefox 4 in early may - http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web & docurl = 20100720113635EN & ln = en_US
I don't know about the time scale for the updates for other Norton products. Waiting for the update by Symantec, if you want to use Norton modules, you will need to downgrade to Firefox 3.6.
Downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first of all uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option 'remove my Firefox personal data '. If you select this option, it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
Then you can install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available to http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your favorite courses, passwords etc.
I recommend, to avoid possible problems with decommissioning, accessing your profile folder and delete the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Delete these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, check their compatibility and cancel the toolbar customizations.
For more information on how to find your profile folder, see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles
Module additional Microsoft NET framework also supports ClickOnce, I never found any need.

I need to install Microsoft NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1, as it is necessary to perform a Dell diagnostic Test, but I've been advised that: Setup has detected that this computer does not meet the requirements to install this software. Requirement: Windows install 3.1.
However, when I look at the download page of Windows Installer 3.1 is not actually as for XP with SP3. I tried anyway and: Setup has determined that the version of Service Pack for this system is newer than the update you are applying. There is no need to install this update. Well actually it is there...
Is there a way to get around this?

BEFVP41 internet connection stops at least once a day (do not use DSL)
Recently started using this router and I noticed that at least once a day the internet connection is dropped and will not bounce back on until I update any random setting on the router. It's getting very annoying frickin since I work from home. I have a static IP via fiber cable directly to the House so no modem is in the way.
I have the Firmware update but apparently according to someone on this page:
http://www.Newegg.com/product/ProductReview.aspx?item=N82E16833124003
"It stopped working completely after a month. After a conversationwith a gentleman very polite to Linksys, we determined that this router comes with (v1.02.00) version thefirmware means forwireless routers! Latest firmware for the router is actually v1.01.04. »
"Much work most of the time. After using it about 2 weeks, he starteddropping the Internet and required a reboot in order toreconnect to the network. After using it about 3 months, it would be notrespond to a ping or a connection attempt, but continued to functionnormally otherwise. Currently, it can not be configured withoutrebooting and he gives a ping answer about 10% of the time. »
Same thing is happening to me so I wonder if I have a defective router or if it is that Linksys has forgotten something with the firmware. I have the last 1.02.00 on router v2.1.
Anyone know anything on this subject?
Try to reflash the firmware once more.

Microsoft NET Framework programs are indicated with a number in the box sizes when I go to the dialog box to uninstall but I don't know what they are and as they have Microsoft and NET in the titles, I think twice about uninstalling to win space in case they are something important. I have no idea what it is, never use it and if I don't need it would uninstall but I'm not sure I should because it might be important and actually run in the background while I use the pc for other tasks. Someone knows and can explain what are these programs? I appreciate it and appreciate help for an admitted car computer illiterate full below all new novice owner, trying to get the hang of it, but I'm trying! Thank you!
.NET framework components are required by many programs to work. They provide common functions for them.
http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/.NET_Framework
Why do you need to "save space"? Programs do not take a lot of space given the size of modern readers. The values shown in programs and features, are unfortunately often inaccurate.
If you are new to computers, avoid changing the way Windows is set up. It's the surest way to cause you problems. Relax and enjoy using the programs you like instead of worrying about what's going on under the hood.
