  Hey, don't feel bad, I'm guilty of this too - has recently attempted to resurrect an era Tablet XP PC so that it can run Win10!  He went from XP to Vista, Win7, for Win8 - and along the way, gains of new memory and drives hard - but the Win10 bet was too.  So, I got to a "give up to use it.

  However, I also kept a cell phone 5 year alive by replacing the HDD with a SSD and adding more memory.  So now it is faster than ever, it has been and works like new.

  Problem solved!

  I have back-level video driver who gave me the resolation apparently need to 1360 X 768 (as opposed to 1366 X 768). It corresponded to the TV and voila, it connected without flaw. It has nothing to do with Windows 10.

  Note: the sequence seems to matter. Connect the HDMI cable (with the TV being on) laptop start first and only then the laptop (or it reboot if there is no connection).
