Preparation configure stuck and pc is not responding

Like many others I just met the preparation to set up Windows do not turn off your computer stuck bug. I use windows 8 and after that my computer became unresponsive, today I got stopped forcefully. I disappeared for a few hours and then tried to turn iton. The screen has been blocked on the message and I left it as follows for 1 hour. After that, without progress, I tried all the options I've seen on the forums. But I couldn't use. CTRL that alt del did not work since my computer has failed. I could also not boot in safe mode or access to the BIOS since my screen is all black until it transitions into the waiting please following the same massage, I met for a few hours. Any ideas how can I deal with the situation?

Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

You did it any significant hardware or change software on the computer before this problem?

I understand that you can not install some updates with the error message "failure of configuration of the Windows updates...". ». I can imagine the disadvantages suffered by you and will certainly help you in the right direction to solve the problem.

First place, according to the error message, I suggest you to try the steps in the following article and check if it helps.

"Configuration of the Windows updates failed. Restoration of the changes. Do not turn off your computer"error when you try to install Windows updates

Note: When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, the programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

The question may arise if the Windows downloaded update packages are corrupt. So in addition to the above, article I also suggest you to try the following steps and check if the problem persists.

Method 1:

Try to run that Windows update utility provided in the following link.

Problems with installing updates

Try to install the updates after running the troubleshooter.

If the problem persists, try the following method.

Method 2:

I suggest you to use Deployment Image Servicing and Management to fix Windows Update errors.

(a) open an elevated command prompt. To do this, press the Windows key + Q and type in CMD right click on command prompt in the list and select run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.

(b) type the following commands. Press enter after each command

  • DISM.exe / Online/Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
  • DISM.exe / Online/Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

(c) close the command prompt, and then run Windows Update again.

Check if the problem persists.

Hope this information is useful. Let us know if you need more help, we will be happy to help you.

Think about it an absolute must - manually update your drivers.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded: run DriverView - set
SEE drivers to hide Microsoft - update those with Dump in their names. (Also
updated the BIOS and drivers from the chipset on the site of the constructor/the system motherboard).

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded
on your system. For each driver in the list, additional useful information is
Poster: load address of the driver, description, version, product name,.
company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit Maker as replacements and system manufacturer of device which are
the most recent. Control Panel - write - graphics card - device manager
the brand and complete model of your video card - double click - tab of the driver-
Note the version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this can do nothing
MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
This will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard
If there are 3rd party with their own software and drivers and the other main device drivers
    you have.

Now, go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restore)
and site (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get the manufacturer and device
their latest versions. (Look for the system to update the BIOS, Chipset and software updates
    Site of the manufacturer here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN -.
    REBOOT after each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you are
installation actually appears. This is because that some rollback of drivers before the
later is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a driver - reboot.
Make sure that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW to the device makers DO NOT RUN THEIR
SCANNER - check manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htm

Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using
the above methods is preferable to ensure the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system
    and device manufacturers are located)
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable driver facilities
in the updates of Windows, which leaves on Windows updates, but it will not be installed
pilots who are generally older and cause problems. If updates provides a new
driver then hide it (right click on it) and then go get new ones manually if
    you want.

    Hope the helps of information.

  • Why my windows freeze and go does not respond when I try to install the msn photo on hotmail download tool?

Why my windows freeze and go does not respond when I try to install the msn photo on hotmail download tool?

The active x bar descends into the small window and freezes all windows open right there and will not respond. This happens when I open a new message and try to attach photos.

Things I tried but has not made a difference:

reinstalled IE 8, deleted the history of the browser, disk Cleanup, removed msn photo upload control, optimized IE8

    With xp media center

PS. This occurs also at any time the information down to install an active x on any site control

The only way to surf now with frustration is to use IE 8 NOT add optional

So I fixed that on my own and that's how I did it.

You must uninstall IE 8 completely which will bring you to IE 7 (in my case) and then install IE 8 via the site updates or microsoft.

Uninstallin IE 8 by going to:

    Start--->

    Control Panel--->

    Add Remove programs--->

    Scroll down to IE 8--->

    Click on delete.

IE8 updates must be removed also, if not then click the box 'To see the updates' on the top of the window to scroll down, look for the IE 8 security updates and delete.

Resart your computer and install IE 8.

This worked for me and may or may not work for you.

Follow step 1 in the link below,

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

If everything works well after a clean boot, you can deduce that some third-party services are at the origin of the problem.

Continue with the remaining steps to pin-point on the third party service.

After find you the program that is causing the problem, you will have to perhaps to update or install a newer version of the program, if you rarely use that you should consider uninstalling the software.

  • Install Firefox 31 point 8.1 of Windows just gives a blank screen and the error "not responding".

31 Firefox has been installed and works perfectly on my Asus laptop under win 8.1, until this morning. I opened the browser and just got a white screen. The Task Manager showed Firefox as "not responding". I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox twice, as an administrator, try 'reset Firefox' the second time. No change. I downloaded Firefox 29 and could install. It opens but freezes and unresponsive, as soon as I get a web address. I'm stumped, as Firefox worked perfectly until this morning. Someone had the same problem and, better yet, found a solution?

It could be the work of one of your modules, or even add / bad-ware.
Look through your list of modules and make sure you know what each of them is
and what it does. In addition, to check the programs that are on your computer

Windows: Start > Control Panel > uninstall programs.
    Mac: Open the folder "Applications".
    Linux:

    • Ubuntu unity {web link}
    • Xfce: Category for the Applications Menu items
    • options depends on the package and the desktop environment Manager

Go through the list. If you find something that you do not
know what it is, use a search on the web.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally
older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then
get new manually if you wish.

  • Backup and restore do not respond

    Hello

I have Windows 7 Professional installed on a Dell laptop computer Vostro (work computer).  We use windows backup backup each laptop, and she recorded this info on our Windows Server 2008.  I had him daily backup, and it had worked well for a long time.  Two months ago it suddenly stopped working.  I went to start the backup manually - through the restore backup dialog &.  I would like to click on the button to say "save now" and the circular icon timer would indicate it was working/thinking for a second, then nothing would happen.  More information - I do not have and have never had Acronis True Image, which is the common cause of this problem based on my research.  I can set up the parameters of the backup-there just never starts the program.  In addition, all the world backups in my office work very well.

So I troubleshoot-made it for a while, and that's what I've done so far:

I checked services - they are on

I looked at the logs for Windows backup - the last entry says he had run February 19, no error and nothing since then.

I have reset the backup & restore via a registry change - problem persists

I tried to do a system restore, but I did not restore from February points (the question started February 19th)

I uninstalled all the programs installed around this date (just google reader & Skype, but I thought at least I could exclude)

    I've done countless restarts

I tried to do a repair of the boot in the boot menu (F8) - once again, nothing.

I don't know what else to try at this point.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Erica

After putting together the newspaper of errors, I looked at Windows backup box in the Task Scheduler, and somehow, he had set up for Windows Vista & Windows Server 2008 instead of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008.  I changed it to be configured for Windows 7, etc, right click on the name to run now, and it worked!  So I think I am well now.  Thanks :)

  • Macbook Air trackpad and keyboard do not respond

So, the trackpad and keyboard on my MacBook Air (13-inch mid-2013) died mid sentence the other day without discernible reason. No hits, no spill - just throw in the towel. I've had Macs fail before, but it is always due to a catastrophic incident of coffee or a drop of water. All other issues I've ever had, I was able to solve. I'm stumped on this one. Have not been able to find a solution here, so I thought I would post. (The first time poster, so apologies if I did badly.)

I got a keyboard and a USB mouse and the machine still works perfectly. The only key that works on the built-in keyboard is the key to power. So I did the obvious things:

    -SMC reset

    -Reset the PRAM

    -Start

    Nothing.

But then I tried a diagnostic test (restart while pressing D) and the trackpad and keyboard we are open! Diagnostic tests reported no problem, but then as soon as I connected from this screen... nothing new. But, as I said, with a USB keyboard/mouse, it works perfectly. I'm typing on it now. Also updated for OSX El Capitan 10.11.5, but there was no joy to be there either.

So I took it to the Genius Bar and they told me, it would probably need a logic board replacement, but that seems not good not me since everything else works perfectly well. I'm running out of ideas, but I don't really want to leave still on it! Note that it is of course out of warranty too. If there is no simple solution, I am open to get inside.

I would be recognizing any new thinking that the community might have. Thank you very much!

    Hello

I'm sorry to say, all signs from your description point to a number of logic board. Without a guaranteed protection or apple, it will cost a little more. Unless you are ready to use a USB keyboard or wireless and a mouse, there is a hardware malfunction that prevents keyboard and mouse operation. Apple uses a program called a "MRI" (Mac resource Inspector) who determines whether a aspect any may be defective, and the Genius Bar has enough experience to say what the signs are pointing. I would like to trust them on this one, it is not just something on the side of software or firmware that you can do.
