Audio driver with Satellite A200 problems

I installed XP + SP2 on a Satellite A200 successfully. I have downloaded all the drivers from the official site, but even though I installed the drivers for the sound card, the system does not recognize a sound card, no indication of speakers to the taskbar. Also, I installed the driver for the modem, but under the control panel modems, there isn't any modem.

Hello

I also had this problem on my Satellite A210.
The problem was that I didn t install two important patches from Microsoft. * KB888111 and KB835221 *.

This patch must be installed before installing the audio driver.
If you have already installed the audio driver please remove TI (remove the soundcard from Device Manager).

Then, install the patches mentioned and after reboot short you could follow with Realtek sound driver installation.

This helped me and I'm sure he will also help you 100%.

Goodbye & good luck

    Hello

To my knowledge the laptop supports dual-band built-in antenna and it was a 802.11(b/g) 13ch-minPCI WLan RTL8187B Realtek card.

The replacement of WLan should be possible, but it s very delicate because whole books must be disassembled to gain access to the WLan module

This can be done by a technician of the ASP.

But why you want to replace the WLan?

  • Coverage problems wireless "n" with Satellite A200 - 18M

    Hi guys and Wales,.
Anyone would be able to tell me why when I a N of Belkin Wireless Modem, an 802.11n integrated on my Satellite A200 - 18 M I'm not able to always get the "n" extended coverage!
My Belkin router is configured to allow the 802. 11 b, g & n the value of bandwidth at 20/40 mhz, WEP 128 security value, and yet I have never better than "g"!
All my drivers are up to date for under Vista Home premium! Belkin say its something wrong with the laptop - a problem with the Intel Wireless Wifi Link 4965AGN, but Toshiba say it's the router Belkin then changed his opinion and say my ISP that do not support Vista (who used the same ISP for 6 months on a previous Satellite A200 on Vista I know they do and the ISP it is absurd to say!)

I am well and really confused as to what else to try, I have Norton which I know can cause problems, but disabled it without success! Toshiba were supposed to have a 2nd level technician call me early in the week, but that the call has not come so before I return to them once again, because I imagine they must be very busy to hear, I was wondering if smart glances you can see the problem!

Its give me wireless no problem for most of the time, but it is just the extension of the coverage I need that I don't get! To my my simple mortal brain reminds me, there must be a software problem? : 0
I bought this machine 4 weeks who want a laptop that would allow me to get the "n" cover and bought a modem so that it can happen, I can't find what the problem is let me!

Another issue that may be related, so I'll mention it, my father has a laptop XP Pro old to 3 years with an integrated adapter 802.11 g, a speed event (he uses my router) displays these results
The results of Vista are: download speed 3267 Kbps (408 kB/s) Upload speed 255 Kbps (31.9 kB/s)
    Results Xp: download speed 2650 Kbps (331 kB/s) Upload speed 383 kbps (47.9 KB/s)
Why XP gets faster download speeds that the machine Vista which gets faster downloads!
Any advice will be much appreciated

    Cheers: x

    Hello

regarding your "n" - problem: in your case, I'll try the drivers intel real-> www.intel.com

Just visit the site, go to the download section and download the latest driver proposed to intel. Maybe that solved your problem. I would also check the following documents in the knowledge base:

    http://209.167.114.38/support/TechSupport/TSBs/all/-TSB001434.htm
    http://209.167.114.38/support/TechSupport/TSBs/all/-TSB001435.htm

    It could be that useful...

And send your thing... I think it has something with the drivers to do, could also be a "non-optimal" framework of Windows Vista (no one said that Vista should be fast... :/)
Perhaps an improvement could help: remove the "Qos service" of the wireless network connection, this could accelerate the flow towards the down/to the top a little.

    Cheers and good luck

  • Problem with Satellite A200 BIOS update

I recently installed the alert software from Toshiba - through it, I received an alert to install software to improve my Satellite A200 1GH.
After installing this software I've probably updated the BIOS and now I could not the computer because he wants a password already from the bios.
I do not managed any password before.
Please help me solve the problem! Is there a possibility of losing information with this situation?

    Hello

No you can not lose any information, but in your case I would check for a more RECENT for your system BIOS version because there are some discussions were that other users had the same problem.

A user reported that a NEWER version has been released and the problem has been resolved, but you should check for it here:

    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp

Otherwise, it would be necessary to set the machine to an authorized service partner. If you need a link to find the one closest to your country:

  • Collection with Satellite A200 series problem

    Hello

I had problems at the start of Windows Vista. It does not run in any mode. When I try to recover (by pressing '0' to the screen, that nothing is happening).
I used my recovery disks to restore the operating system. They run for awhile, and then a white screen comes up and it stops. Then I get PXE: memory, disk failure check cable.

Finally, with some trial and error I could finally launch the recovery disks, when I try to recover with the factory settings it will stop with disc 2 does not end copy the files. Then I had to recover without recovery partition. After finishing, I found that it loaded Windows XP not Windows Vista. Where did Windows Vista go and how can get it back.

Please someone help me with this problem.

    Thank you

Hmmm... What Satellite A200 do you have exactly?

  • Satellite A200 - problems with the AC adapter / CC

    Hello

    The problem concerns a Satellite A200 (PSAF6A-02H01N).

Recently, there was problems with the laptop, taking several attempts to boot to Vista, it would lock up while loading or just hang and freeze just after loading Vista.
But once it was up and the laptop running would be happy working for hours with the AC adapter is plugged in.

The problem got worse now and the laptop will not load Vista end without crashing.
We have now reduced the computer down to have only a problem when the power adapter is connected.
The laptop battery will charge normally with the AC adapter is plugged in and the laptop on standby or off.

The problem persists with the AC adapter is plugged in and the battery removed.
The laptop will start and run perfectly with battery and no power adapter plugged. Once the AC adapter is plugged in the laptop indicates that the battery is charging and then after a few seconds it crash or freeze and the only escape is a full stop.
The laptop will not work under the battery power for 30 minutes max.
I checked the output voltage of the AC adapter and this seems to be a consistent 19.4 Volts.

Is this only a problem of AC adapter or the problem with the laptop?

    Thanks in advance...

    The Canada Gazette

I lifted the previous discussions on this problem and found one that was very similar, but unfortunately the user decided not to find the problem of the road, save money and buy a new laptop instead! Hmm. !! .. seems to me like this might be a prob. material. Maybe a new motherboard?... anyone have an idea of what are the costs for that perhaps? .. an ASP or decent technician backstreet?...

  • Closing in on the Satellite A200 problem

    Hello...

I have a Satellite A200 with Windows XP Pro SP2 and sometimes there is when I have the OS it hangs for about 45 seconds, then start/stop start/stop. Meanwhile, the HARD disk it used a lot.

In the user accounts from the Control Panel, I changed the way uses connect/disconnect (uncontrolled use welcome screen) when restarting the OS, I get the "Windows is shutting down" and "saving your settings" window and this window disappears. When the window disappears, I get this kick 45 seconds - 1 minute.

I downloaded the profile "user hive CleanUp" of Microsoft and I still have the problem. I also disabled the system restore.

    Can someone help me?
    Thank you!

You have a lot of files stored on your HARD drive? Or maybe a lot of programs installed? So in this case I recommend you:

-clean your system with tools like "TuneUp" 2008
-Defragment your HARD drive, you will see the evacuation is much faster with a defragmented disk (best result of defragmentation can be gained with "O & O defrag")
    -remove applications
-get a registry cleaner and let them clean the reg for a huge log can slow down even a really powerful machine

For example, some of my suggestion that should work...

    :)

    Welcome them

  • Keyboard on Satellite A200 problem

Hi, while hoping a bit of insight into what the problem may be with my Satellite A200.

It started with one single key works does not, then one other has stopped working. Then I would press a key, but it would come with a different letter on the screen. Then it got really bad, I couldn't use the keyboard at all because of the random letters would seem I typed, eventually escalating to the point where letters would appear constantly on the screen when the keyboard has not been affected.

Tried to uninstall and reinstall driver, did not help. Tried a usb keyboard which was great until tonight. Usb keyboard or the laptop keyboard are working when tapped, yet sometimes random letters appear on the screen.

I was ready to replace the keyboard if it was just a problem of keyboard, but now I'm wondering if it might be the motherboard. Everyone knows the same or similar problem?

Nothing has been spilled on the keyboard.

    Thanks for your help.

It's very confusing when the keyboard USB doesn t work too. At first, I thought faulty keyboard, it must be, but I'm afraid there is a serious hardware problem and I don't think you can fix it alone.

I recommend you contact nearest Toshiba authorized maintainer and ask for help.

  • Re: My experience with Satellite A200

Bought a Satellite A200 March or February, since the purchase, he really began to think that I made a BIG mistake. Cost me $2000 purchase and only after it home and unpacking, I found that my new laptop in TWO THOUSAND dollar do not even have an audio output jack, it seems that most - Toshiba laptops on the $500au and brand make. "Oh, but it has an HDMI output! Well, Yes, yes it does! But it's the majority of the other laptops at prices similar, as standard alignment for those of us not rich enough to afford a new stereo system, whenever something new comes out, or those of us who are quite satisfied with the performance of our current systems of the stereo and do not want to buy a brand new just for a single input format that do not have our existing elements...

    Then...

About 2 months after the purchase, he did his first total shutdown due to overheating. Interesting, I thought... Hope that does not happen. Which he did. With more frequency, until finally he did at least once every 10 minutes, was similar to the other guy with of the A300. Well, I thought, call Toshiba service. They were very helpful, accommodating the pickup and warranty repairs. Repairs resulted in a bit of dust on, (Strange, considering that he is kept in a totally clinical environment) and, which I think was the real problem of cleaning of the relocation of the CPU.

EU return 2 days later, works very well. Now, less than a month after the repairs, it did 2 days ago. So far, that he did not have a recurrence, but good, give him time no doubt.

My biggest concern is, if this kind of thing is going to happen once every 6 months or if, after the warranty runs out so what? I have a COP then a dollar-big success for maintenance every 6 months? The literally of hundreds of different laptops that I and my friends and family have / have had, it of the only one I've never seen act like that and for the price, features less of most of them, I mean, no audio line output? What the hell is with that? Taken most of laptops headset can be switched on the fashion line, a fairly simple task, but not this one...

I must say Toshiba, as a loyal for many years, since I bought my first portable stereo Toshiba in the beginning of the 1980s, or about, I am completely underwhelmed, to the point of giving the phone to my wife as a birthday gift and into my office of Athlon powered 32-bit of aging (I bought the Toshiba to replace rofl).

I really should better until I bought it even though it has a radeon. To say all this. Same Halflife 2 which was made for the Radeons, has graphic problems running on the subject which are serious enough to put me off ever replay on the A200. Neverwinter Nights is substantially the same, although admittedly, it is more likely a problem of Vista than the Radeon.

Anyone else had a similar chance with one of these laptops? They should really be much better for their specifications

I have an A200 and had no problems with it. I don't play games on it, but this isn't really a game machine. I would have bought a Qosmio if I wanted to play games: P

Both my laptops gather dust in the radiator and warm me, I need to remove the dust once a month to avoid unexpected interruptions. But that is how it is with the PC, they will still collect dust and possibly overheating.

I had a few laptops different, none of them have a feature audio line. I guess you have to buy a model that focuses on the media side of things (again, the Qosmio series).

Off course for everyone the experience is different, all I can say is that I am generally satisfied with the A200. He does the work :)

  • Sound does not work after updating the Audio driver on Satellite P100-248

After an optional update to the audio driver in my Toshiba Satellite P100-248 conexant high definition, there's not more solid. I know it's the driver who caused the problem because it back to the windows generec driver and a reboot resolved the probem the first time around. Recently I had problems with my microphone so I was looking for a newer driver and installed upgrading the driver again by mistake.

Now the noise disappeared again and I don't want to go back to the generic driver, but I can't find the conexant driver appropriate through Toshiba because the socket driver does not list my model. I tried a few of the drivers for the other models of the P series, but without success. Any ideas where I can find my driver? I'm on Vista 32 bit SP1.

    > but I can't find the conexant driver appropriate through Toshiba because the socket driver does not list my model.
Hmm... Satellite P100-248 belongs to the PSPAGE series and this series of mobile is listed on the European Toshiba driver page sp I t really know what you're talking about.

You will find also all the Vista drivers available on this page.
I would say, download the audio driver and install it.
