  Thank you very much. I read the references you provided and followed your advice. I decided to remove the entire program of Firefox and other issues. As a result when I did a reinstall asked me for the first time that I wanted to import all saved preferences. • How can I get WMC to play sounds on the default device?

  I'm under WMC via HDMI to a SAMSUNG TV. Works very well, but to get a sound to play through the TV (which is in another room), change the playback by default windows to SAMSUNG device. I would like to have sound PC via the PC and only the WMC sounds via the TV.  My PC can split the sound, as with DEFAULT SAMSUNG I can go to Windows Media Player (WMP not WMC!) and the value of reading through the speakers. So has solved part of the problem, because music is now back on the PC and the TV via WMC are on TV. However, the SYSTEM SOUNDS stay with the DEFAULT device and are as such on the TV.

  The ultimate would be to have speakers as the default, and then be able to go in WMC and play through the HDMI connection on the SAMSUNG TV.  Otherwise, I need to be able to change the SOUND SYSTEM to the uncommon speakers.

  Whenever I set up through WMC speakers, he grabs SAMSUNG as the default device. If this isn't just a question of sequencing.

  Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. It's a great site for information and questions. I looked in your question about your computer laptop HP ENVY 15 x 360 and questions with no sound. Here's a documenton troubleshooting sounds if you need it.

  Please ensure that your edits were made on the laptop. In under his right click Device Manager and update driver. This is another step to try.

  1. right click the speaker icon in the lower right corner of your time.
  2. click on playback devices.
  3. click on speakers/headphones.
  4. click on properties.
  5. click on the Advanced tab in the Properties window.
  6. change the default menu Format in the highest quality.
  7. apply properties.
  8. click OK to close the Properties window.

  SP60, welcome to the forum.

  Beats Audio should automatically be turned off when the sound card is installed.  However, you can go to the control panel Audio Beats and uncheck the "Set as default device".  You can do this with the recording device, too.

  I have sound problems on my laptop Compaq 610.  When I plug my headphones, sound continues to out speakers and not the headphones.    I tried to go into the control panel and ensuring that the headphones were put under the default playback option.  "Headphones (RTC)" are defined as the "default communication device" and "speakers/HP" is set as "default device".  It seems like a simple solution, I just need to change setting headphones and make reading the value default, right?  But when I try to do, it won't let me.  The option is there to make the headphones the default device, but when I click it, it does nothing. I also tried to disable the speakers, in this case, nothing worked.

  I must also mention that when I test the helmet in the Advanced Properties menu, they work perfectly.  I also did a repair on playback devices in the control panel.  It comes up saying that the problem is that the headphones are not defined as default.  I click on 'Apply this correction' and it comes up saying 'Not fixed.'?
  I have Windows 7 and IDT High Definition Audio CODEC (already tried to remove and reinstall the driver.)
  I saw this same issue of another person, but each thread has the same suggestions and in the end, remain unresolved.  If anyone knows anything else that I can do, let me know.

  1. right click on the speaker icon in the taskbar, then select volume control options.

  2. put a check mark on "all devices evolving sound.

  3 make sure you have "Default uncontrolled communication device".

  4. place a check mark on the speakers and headphones.

  I would like to inform you that if you try to play through the headset while HDMI is connected and as default so it is not possible that Windows cannot have two default audio devices. To automatically play in the headset, the HDMI monitor should be disconnected, if the HDMI monitor and headphones are disconnected both laptop speaker is automatically selected as the default playback device.

  If the sound does not automatically monitor HDMI to helmet even after the HDMI monitor is disconnected, then you must update the drivers of the audio card to the Web site of the manufacturer, which is DELL.
