Hi Mkress,
Welcome!
You can get this error if Windows Error Reporting Service does not start, try to restart the service on the computer and check if the problem persists or not, follow the steps below to start the service:
1. click on start.
2 type Services in the start search.
3. look for Windows Error Reporting Service in the list.
4. right click on the Service.
5. click on properties.
6. set the Startup Type to automatic.
7 set the starting state.
8. click on apply.
9. click on OK.
Now restart the computer for the changes to the effect.
I would say that you do the check disk on the computer to find the bad sectors and disk related errors on the computer, follow these steps:
1. the procedure for chkdsk to run:
i. Click Start
II. type cmd in the start search box.
III. right-click on cmd.exe list programs and then select the run as Administrator option.
IV. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.
v. in the command prompt window, type the following command and press enter Chkdsk/r
Note: When you restart, Windows checks the drive for errors, and then Windows starts. Now, run the disk check in the command prompt.

* STOP: c0000218 (registry file failure *)

Hello
In your case I'd take a Win XP disk and would try to reinstall the system.
Still is it that you are not able to boot into normal mode and safe mode so I put t see another solution for you.
Of course, the blue screen of death could be related to a hardware problem (HARD drive problem) and in this case the installation of the system not fix your problem. Then this would require the new survey -
Why windows security tells me that Microsoft Essentials is off when tells ME it is followed
Whenever I start the computer that Windows Security Alert tells me that Microsoft Essentials is off, but is green to me and telling me he's being followed. Alert remains on until my daily analysis runs and it turns off. I turned off the PC overnight and reopen the next day and same thing. What could be the problem?
read the above thread and follow the Kosh Vorlon

Windows Security Center gives me a "alert" that my anti-virus is disabled. I have Win XP Professtional and'm running Windows defender and Microsoft Security Essentials times which I recently uninstalled, restarted the computer and reinstalled more updated. I read related security problems, but I have not found a match. I have a screenshot of the Win Security Center Alert, but unable to attach. It is said: ' Windows found multiple antivirus programs on this computer, but they all report that they could be updated or disabled. " Click on the recommendations for suggested actions... [what I did without success, i.e. update. «[I uninstalled, stop, rebooted and reinstalled and updated]»
When I shoot to the top of MSE it says, "protection is enabled, and updated definitions.
Windows Defender said: "Nothing detected" and "computer running normally."
Before the uninstall and update, I ran System Mechanic from Iolo, who has done wonders for speed.
Norman
When it comes to antivirus software, you want one and only one installed and running on your computer. Two or more may come into conflict with eachother and degrade performance. I advise you to uninstall Windows defender and use soley mse.
also I strongly suggest that you avoid using "PC optimization" tools. They can help a little, but they often do more harm than good.

Failure to install Windows security update, error code 800706BA and 800706BE
Several updates failed to install last week Windows security. 800706BE and error code 800706BA were cited as the problem.
How can I fix it?
Hi Libra1949,
· Did you do changes on the computer before the show?
· (Numbers KB) updates you install?
· You are able to install other updates successfully?
Follow these methods.
Method 1: Temporarily disable the security software .
Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
Method 2: Put the computer in a clean boot State to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow the link step 7 to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.
Method 3: You can also manually install updates (KB number) by downloading from the Microsoft Download Center.
http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx
Method 4: Follow the steps in the article.

Every few minutes, we receive a small Microsoft Windows pop-up window that says: "Carbonite Secure Backup Engine has stopped working and was closed. A problem with the application to stop functioning properly. Windows will notify you if a solution is available. »
Our computer remotely accessible Carbonite technician. He said Carbonite works correctly and could not understand why we continue Gets the pop-up. Carbonite has been uninstalled and reinstalled twice, but the pop up comes back. Any suggestions?
Hello
Generally, this sort of thing occurs when a program conflict makes one or the other case work, maybe even for a few seconds. During these few seconds Windows will pick it up and give you this popup. Here's a possible solution:
- Click the start or Windows Orb.
- In the search bar, type 'system' (without the quotes)
- At the top of search results, there will be an option for "System Configuration"
- A window willl pop up, with several tabs and options. Click on the tab "General".
- On this tab, there will be a selection for the "selective startup". Click on this button.
- Then two options becomes clickable, deselect the option "Load Startup items".
- Restart your computer. ! WARNING: Do not access the internet during this time because you will be vulnerable to viruses, spyware and software malware!
- Once he starts back, Carbonite Backup launch, because no program will run.
The problem should be solved. If this is the case, immediately turn on your antivirus program and enjoy your work computer. If not,
- Follow steps 1 through 5 above to return to the System Configuration.
- Under Selective startup, uncheck also load Services.
- Restart the computer.
- Once it starts, run Carbonite.
It should now be resolved. If this is not the case, there is certainly a problem with either Carbonite or how Carbonite and Windows work together, and you should communicate with each other.
For further assistance, if this does not resolve the problem, then slowly run your normal programs one by one until the multibordure question once again. You have now isolated the program conflict! Congratulations!
