Automatic update of Windows XP

After an update, computer will not re-start. After pressing F8 and safe mode, would not proceed all. I tried all the choices on the menu F8 and nothing. Can not access to the restore point.

Hello

·         What happens when you try to start on the desktop or options in F8? You get an error message or a blue screen? If so, what is the exact message?

·         Do you remember the number of the update has been installed on the system?

Please provide details so that we can help you in a better way.

Method 1:

I suggest you uninstall the update of the recovery console and check if you are able to boot to the desktop without any problem. I suggest you follow the steps mentioned by Kevin Hau in the link mentioned below.

http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_xp-windows_update/blue-screen-unable-to-boot-after-Windows-XP-update/73cea559-ebbd-4274-96bc-e292b69f2fd1

Note: You will need to know the update's KB number to do this.

Method 2:

If this does not help then, I suggest you follow the steps mentioned in the article given below to do a restore of the system from the recovery console to the point when the system worked very well and check.

To plant your Firefox, simply there open, press CTRL + SHIFT + ESC and then, on the process tab in the window that appears, complete the process firefox.exe. • Automatic updates of Windows does not

I can't get my automatic updates of windows to turn back, then he continues to show the small shield with the X in it everytime I turn on my PC. I went to my control panel and it is checked by automatic updates, where he always was, tried to change, then click on apply, then go back and change this automatic return to the update, then apply about 10 times tonight and it won't work at all. I went to check the updates manually and I can't get that to work either. Earlier this evening, I spent 6 hours taking off from a Trojan horse, and so far, it's the only thing I found which is not back to normal. Pls. any ideas on how to solve this or what else should I check?

  • Automatic update in Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3

I have Windows XP Professional with Service Pck3 and I met a virus/malware I finally solved.  Now, my only problem is that my automatic updates of windows does not work.  I have the red shield with the X in the toolbar.  I tried to activate the automatic updates without success and have even tried to download updates manually.  When I try the manual download, I get a Web site problem message with error 0 X 80070424.  I need help to try to tackle this problem.  Thank you

    Results

    (1) Malware Bytes - nothing found
    Super 2) Anti-Sypyware-23-threats-4 registry, file 19
    (3) eSet Online Scanner - nothing found
    (4) MSRT-nothing detected
    (5) WindowsXP-KB942288-v3 - x 86 .exe - downloaded, saved and run
    (6) Windows Update Agent-recorded on disk Local (c :))
When %SystemDrive%\windowsupdateagent30-x86.exe/WUFORCE has been typed in the box RUN he came "Could not find".
When %SystemDrive%\windowsupdateagent30-x86.exe has been typed in it finished the installation.
    (7) Windows Update components FixIT - it did NOT offer me a version of aggressive to work then he ran the version offered.  Results - a problem to need attention and one or several components of Windows Update are configured incorrectly.

These are the results.  I followed your links and even ran everything twice more than double control to make sure that I don't have an error somewhere in the process.  What's next?

    (6) you must put spaces in... There are spaces.

    %SystemDrive%\windowsupdateagent30-x86.exe /WUFORCE
    .. .is (phonetically?)...
    %SystemDrive%\windowsupdateagent30-x86.exe/WUFORCE

I still say, "If you"solved"the problem of virus/malware in anything other than a wipe/regeneration - it may not be completely fixed or have still a few remaining damage that the probability of fixation is thin votes to zero.»  (In other words - I recommend a format/install). »

Not only did I always say this, I think you have discovered that it will probably be necessary.

You might be able to do something with SFC/scannow , or be Windows XP, possibly a repair install might fix things (if you have a Windows XP with the Service Pack 3 installation CD or can integrate a new installation CD for Windows XP SP3).

SPACE does the work.  I then restarted the update Windows components and then successfully downloaded and installed 9 security updates.

I understand the fact that you still recommend a format/install. Not having done it would be prudent to see how the operating system is running and if I have any further questions or you feel it is too risky on a computer used to pay bills and perform other necessary transactions. The computer is older and the cost may not be a return value.  I wait your answer before I post any other questions.  I thank you for your time and expertise.

  • How to disable the automatic updates of windows and to update on demand

At the same time, I had disabled the automatic updates of windows and updated on demand by opening windows update.  Where is the place to activate and deactivate the automatic updates of windows.

    It worked.  Thank you!

I wasn't able to get automatic updates to download a microsoft windows update.  The fix for microsoft in default mode indicated that he needed to be repaired and that fixed it.  When windows update was used again the update has failed once again.  The fix even that it was then run in aggressive mode and with a recheck has failed to correct the problem.  At each restart, automatic updates took the time to start producing a yellow shield and then pop-up reminders.  So thank you to help us with these questions to disable the automatic updates of windows.

Thanks for posting the results of your efforts, I don't know they will be read and appreciated.
