FLACs are very hard on the battery. If you need more time, to use mp3 files.

I know that the files are OK. They do not play through my media streamer when I connect the Clip + via USB to my NAS.

Is that what I can do to play on the Clip + as installing Rockbox, using .wav files, or is a material limitation

On this aspect, why is there no specification anywhere (bitrate, resolution, etc.

Seriously, there should be some tech specs in the manual...

I guess I'll have to recode these for lower quality - but WHICH one is better than the Clip + is supported in terms of flow rate and sampling frequency?

The DAC on the Clip + is only 16 bits, so there is no advantage to the use of 24-bit. Rockbox will decode any file FLAC, but they will be converted to 44.1 k/16 for playback. The sandisk firmware does decode flac 24 bit at all. BTW, you probably already know, LPs are less 16 bit, so there is no loss of quality to convert to 16-bit.

I have Sansa Clip Firmware version 02.01.32A and I am not able to read files flac. I have read most of the posts about this but still cannot load on my 2G clip. They are normal flac files with the extension .flac and play fine on my hard drive.

I found the solution by searching in the posts more carefully.

An airport express itself to the bottom of the sample of iTunes / music Pure even with out Ethernet and Toslink connection?

Yes, because the AirPlay Protocol is used on the media either wired or wireless and this Protocol is necessary for an AirPlay-ready device like the Express dealing with either analog or digital output stream.

As you know the music Pure has been designed to read audio data directly to an audio interface (such as a DAC) which is connected directly to the computer. When connected to an AirPlay-ready device, she will have to work with what can support AirPlay. As you also know, music Pure offers a high resolution "streaming" ability, via NetSend service, but it is on a different computer by Ethernet, not an AirPlay-ready device.

  • What is the best suond of quality I can rip a cd with windows media player, which can be read by itunes

I'm putting my windows media files in iTunes to play on a stereo system.

I am after the best quality possible and do not want to be caught in the trap in appleworld but there is very little ipnut devices that support what anyone else than apple.

I also have a Samsing Galaxy SII I want to play music.

I, therefore, plucked a few CD in windows media player using WAV (lossless) format.

When I try to add a folder to library in itunes songs appear under unknown artist and I can't recognize the format.

Anyone know what is the best quality download I can do which can be dealt with by media player AND iTunes?

    Thank you very much.

    John

Why use iTunes AND WMP AND a Galaxy? Use one of them.

The reason for which you you hide it all under "Unknown", this is that wav files are not encrypted when you ripped them. You must add the titles to the hand. However, your Galaxy will not be able to read them.

You could rip as mp3 at a rate of 320 files - negligible loss of sound quality at a high rate, or as a file flac.

You can use a codec for WMP for files flac and I don't know if iTunes can read - I never use it for reading. Check the plug on the Apple site. Yet once, however, the Galaxy cannot.

However, they can read mp3 files, as can your Galaxy (I have a). To transfer files to the Galaxy its recommended to use Kies software (available on Samsung website)...

If you were to use a program like AudioGrabber (Google for it, its freeware) coupled with the Lame codec (follow the links on the site of AudioGrabber) then you can rip from CD directly to mp3 at a rate of 320 that WMP + iTunes + your Galaxy can read.

Hope that waffle above is clear,

    See you soon,.

  • Files FLAC

HELP I bought and downloaded a concert from the "repository"Wolfgangs". The downloaded files are FLAC. I tried to play and am unable to. The files are located in C:\Documents and Settings\Dean\My Documents\My Music\Concert Vault. I've never done this before and try to read them with Media Player. What should I do to get these files to read?

To enable read WMP files FLAC, you can install the codecs to http://xiph.org/dshow .

If you also want to library FLAC and mark the support of WMP, you need the plug-in in WMP Tag Plus as well.

    You must follow these steps:

    1. Backup current content.
    2. Format the card in FAT32.
    3. Put the card in the reader and then turn on the player.
    4. After the player has finished refreshing media, turn off the player and remove the card.
    5. Replace the content on the map in the MUSIC folder created by the player.

    It's working perfectly!

  • Problems playing FLAC major Fuze v1, firmware v1.02.28A

Ugh. Problem solved, but not a pretty solution.

"Black Rectangle: try extraction of a track or two with Media Coder instead."  If it works... Well... you know what awaits us. »

Well, that was the question. I have now re-RIP all my files using Media Coder. The files were initially torn off using FreeRIP 3. All the files pulled from this program has been absolutely perfect on my computer.

Fuze is apparently very, very selective on what program encodes him FLAC. Very annoying.

For the record, I have re-torn my compression level 8 pieces, and they all play fine. Compression level so isn't the issue.

    Hi all -

I have major issues FLAC playing on my new Fuze (v1). Please see below.

I read one of the FAQ, and here are the answers to questions that someone says people may need:
1-3. Which operating system/version/SP do you use? Windows XP SP 3

    4. what version of firmware is has your rocket? 01.02.28A

    5. what version of Windows Media Player you have? 11.0

    6. What are the steps that you do?

In order: Sync had my music to the "rocket" using SyncEXP. Tried to play a FLAC with firmware v1.02.26. Resounding failure. The installer downloaded automatic firmware and updated to the latest firmware. New automatic detection of MSC USB settings. The installer of recycled auto firmware. Had to reset the USB Service Meteorological parameter of the Canada. Downloaded the firmware and copied in the root directory manually. Formatting system. Manually placed music in MUSIC folder. Manually updated firmware to level again. Power to bike system after each update of the firmware.

    7. What do you get?

Read files FLAC ripped CD 16-bit, 2 channels, 44.1 kHz, ~ 500-1000 Kbps (most ~ 800 - 900 Kbps). All files have been verified to be fully functional on my computer. All play perfectly on my computer (using foobar). All files were torn at the level of quality FLAC 8 (maximum).

    8. What is really?

Fuze recognizes files, album and Vorbis tags. However, when I play the files, it reads how long the first file is, but immediately she jumps. He jumps then (name of file/song readings without playing) through all the files in this folder. He's constantly giving me a chance to take a break. I would be the behavior of the "rocket" to a seizure or the feedback without end loop sometimes it will just get stuck on the screen, it's "lock up."

The weird part about this, is that I have downloaded a couple of FLAC of the web, and play them fine.

Help! PLEASE DON'T TELL ME I HAVE TO RE - RIP ALL OF MY FLAC!

Hmmm. If this isn't the tags, or mp3tag cannot correct them, it might be the encoder, which could in fact mean the re-Ripper PITA.

I like free software for his idealism, but there sometimes whims. The "rocket" only recently added FLAC to its firmware, and he called to be picky about other things (like tags), then maybe the encoder Foobar is not completely compatible - especially since you said that you can play FLACs from other sources.

Try searching for extraction of a track or two with Media Coder instead.  If it works... Well... you know what awaits us.

  • Music file format: FLAC

When I tried to copy a folder containing several songs in the format FLAC in the Samsa drive, I received a warning that this format is not recognized by the device and "want you copy the files anyway? I said 'no '.

Later, I did a search and found a response saying that the format FLAC is recognized. I'm confused. Two questions:

    (1) the Samsa Clip can read files in the format FLAC?

    (2) if it is negative, can you suggest a free program to convert files to MP3 format?

    Thank you

It is compatible with the latest firmware.  Check your version of firmware under system information. and see if matches the version specified in the sticky threads at the top of this forum.  They educate update you if need be.

  • Fuze recognizes tags to FLAC? Can you navigate by folder?

    Hello

I'm considering the purchase of a rocket, but there are a few concerns that I have.  I read a review that Sansa Fuze cannot browse records songs.  The review was a little old, so I don't know if it is still the case with a newer firmware.  Most of my music collection is torn in format FLAC with its own marking (I dunno if it of ID3 or not).  My question is whether or not the "rocket" recognizes the tags in files FLAC.  If it does not recognize those, and if it does not support the navigation folder, my music collection would become a mess in there for sure.

So here, my 2 questions.  Can anyone help?  Thank you!

Yes, the "rocket" supports the folder navigation (with the latest firmware).

Yes, it recognizes tags to Flac.

I use it to listen to my music (mp3, wav, flac, ogg), audiobooks and radio FM, took a few records, keep a few pictures with me. Note that I have no use of videos on such a small screen. I like its ease of use (once I got used to it) and supported (I'm a big fan of Linux). Just to summarize: I have a friend...

  • ReplayGain and better FLAC tag based on Fuze (please)

Hello everyone. As I read, Fuze can't stand the ReplayGain, it would be a really nice feature.

I know that I could handle my files to get audio already normalized, but which could change the file forever, with no "undo" as possible (at least that I keep two copies of the files, of course). Many people prefer not to convert audio files, not only because the normalization of the audio collection is a task that is more to do, but also because of the additional audio processing involved. I try to keep my audio, as I had originally.

On the Fuze FLAC tag support: Fuze does not recognize 90% of the audio tags of my files FLAC. As I read more people are finding this problem. I've heard say that files tag work "AudioMonkey". In any case, I use "easytag' (Linux) and all my devices read them fine, but Fuze don't. I checked this with some software players and with my XBox, and all them work very well with my tags. "metaflac - list filename.flac" presents all the tags correctly. Don't know what is happening, but maybe my rocket should not be so 'tricky' understanding FLAC metadata.

I could send more details if necessary (or a sample file FLAC). Just contact me.

I was very happy when the latest firmware has been launched because support FLAC. This two things probably would be really appreciated.

    Thanks for reading.

We have identified the problem with the tags FLAC posted by the user.  The next version should display.  The problem is that tagging added ID3 tags for records that are not in the specification FLAC.

ReplayGain is evaluated for feasibility, but habit probably be in the output this month.
