• Can we have better geo-tagging?

  I have PSE9 on Windows 7. It's a shame the program uses Yahoo maps instead of Google. Sometimes, that means I have to find a specific location in Google maps and then try to find the location on the map of Yahoo. I tried the geo-tagging in Picasa (which itself connects to Google Earth). It works for upload files to Flickr Flickr recognizes the geo-tagger that Google Earth has written to the file (as it does with the written too PSE9 tag). But organizing PSE9 does not recognize a geo - tag already in a file created, say, by Google Earth. For that matter, neither does Google Earth read the existing geo-tagger I can say.

  I thought it would be wonderful to have a geo-tagging function in my camera itself save me all these redundant activities, but then PSE9 wouldn't recognize the geo-tagger produced by my camera and I have to redo the tag.

  Is this something in the pipeline? Summary: the ability to PSE9 automatically read a geo - tag in a jpeg file and place a marker to the appropriate place on the map.

  And better maps would be nice. Never tried to locate a street in rural Romania in Yahoo maps?

  When you geotag a photo outside of the PES, and PES is unclear on this issue. You must inform the PES there is a Geotagging from another source in any important photo in EPS, or if it has been already imported, I think that update the thumbnail will cause PSE to recognize the geotag.

  Regarding the rest of your comments:

  As another user of the PSE, I don't think that this will be high on the priority list of Adobe.

  They had a map of working and usable in PSE5 function, then they have rewritten the entire application (not just the part of the map) to PSE6 and the map function has been largely useless since then, causing the entire application to slow down if you have a lot of geotags.

  Hi there, I recently lost my "recent bookmarks" and "recent tags" my bookmarks file. I sought help on the forums and followed the advice to restore the smart bookmarks folder (ranging up to about: config, double-click on the link smartbookmarks, assigning a value of 0 and restart) and it brought back the tag 'most visited' on the toolbar (which I was happy not to do) and the recent "tags" on my menu of bookmarks (which again I don't want to not really) , he brought no "recent bookmarks", which is one I really want to!

When I tried to restore it previously (via subject: config suggest you), I had read somewhere that I have to right click on browser.places.smartBookmarksVersion and change the value from 7 to 0, which is what I did. Bringing the tag 'most visited' and recent tag, but not the recently marked with a bookmark.

  But I just followed your advice, via the link you gave, and rather than change the value to 0, I clicked and chose just "reset" and it has sorted them. I have my return recently marked with a bookmark label.

  I had similar questions about the tags quite awhile (5.1 is released at the time).  I don't think I ever got a response.  In the meantime, you could create a wrapper for PowerCLI orders or make calls directly to the api.  A little messy but it would work.

  Some extensions or toolbars can add such a report.
