AWR and dba_feature_usage_statistics

Hi gurus.

Important information about the license found below.
http://download-East.Oracle.com/docs/CD/B19306_01/license.102/b14199/options.htm#CIHJJBGA

It is said that the use of AWR has (to access v$ active_session_history, dba_hist_xxxxxxx, oracle_home/rdbms/admin/awr*.sql, etc.), we need extra license, correct?

After that I installed enterprise edition and set up EM (not in the grid) for test, I have questions
1. I checked "remove access" on the screen to access the configuration menu of the EM management pack.
but I can always find all views (dba_hist_xxx, v$ active_session_history, etc...) on CWA.
is this correct?

2. I ran a $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/awrrpt.sql script, but I can always find that the value of the column "Currently_Used" of the name 'Automatic workload repository' the view 'dba_feature_usage_statistics' always is 'FALSE. '
is this correct?

Thank you.

Yes--or need to license (available only for Enterprise Edition) diagnostics pack

Yes. It does display in EM. Given that some of these views are also used for other things internally, it does not remove them. You get NO points of view.

My being different for the different versions. Not sure - you can check on MOS

    (1) AWR is just a collection of performance statistics, so read requires an understanding Oracle performance and how it is measured rather something specific to CWA

    (2) practical experience is most important theoretical knowledge of tham

  • How to find the sql queries executed in one day with the sql and runtime text

    Hi Experts,

Please tell me the sql query to find out the queries executed on a particular day and the runtime and the sql text of the query.

    Please reply urgent.

    Thanks in advance

Database instance 'A' may have run 100 SQL queries today.  As for the instance of database 'B' could have exploited queries SQL 1 million today.  Instance of database 'B' to 'keep' the 1 million SQL statements - in memory or on disk do you expect?  Of course not.  There the age or flush or invalidate memory SQL statements.  He can't keep them on the disk (imagine running a completely different set of 1.2million SQL statements tomorrow and 1.3 the next day).

AWR and StatsPack can make counts the number of "n" top of the page ("n" default to 30) SQL statements which are still present in the cache of the library (not years, rinsed, invalidated) when a snapshot was taken.  They can't declare "all" SQL statements.

To return to your needs.  WHY do you need all the SQL statements?  Or are there only certain operations specific SQL would you be interested?  Could they have been treated by allowing audit (for example, UPDATE and DELETE with EXTENDED verification instructions)?

  • Bug? : cannot execute predefined "last awr" report with the latest version of the SQL Developer

Using SQL developer 4.0.0.13... report fails with ORA-01422

using the actual query to generate awr against the same range of component snap works perfectly

I opened a SR on the question

    Thank you

It's always a good idea to open a SR when you are able.  I assume that you have already received a response from support.  For others I wondered about this, the question is likely related to running the report against a CCR environment, as indicated in the following bug:

Bug 18132564 - LAST AWR REPORT FAILS WITH ORA-01422 IN CCR ENVIRONMENTS

The call of the AWR report requires parameters for a DB and an ID of Instance, so that the report should run, as in earlier versions, for only the current instance, or be modified to run all instances in the cluster.

I've added a number instance selection control to the various reports: ASH,.

  • AWR in memory

    Hello

That I improve my certification of Oracle9i, Oracle10g. I'm currently studying AWR and its structure.  A book that I'm reading is saying, "the total size of the memory AWR area should not exceed more than 5 percent of the size of sharing pool"

I know that there is a parameter that allows you to set the size of the sharing pool but I know not how set the area of memory AWR in the share pool or SGA. Y at - it a parameter to define the area of memory AWR?

It would be great if someone answer me, please.

    Thank you.

    Asif

As far as I know there is no direct parameter which determines the awr memory usage, can you shows us the link or book where it is written, because there are some hidden parameters allows to say in the historical case of the current session as _ash_Sample_all = true in order to see the amount of ash data is sampled and more stats interval rinse , buy the way you don't need all this worry that as that is managed internally, in 10G you just need to worry about automatic shared memory management...

    Hi Arun,

I don't think that this figure is very useful - is not to tell you what SQL (user or recursive, what happens the 22 percent of the time, etc.).

So far, you seem to forward the wrong way. You are looking for in your CWA to find a problem. It's like a medical doctor looking at test results to see if a patient has a headache. You ask the patient on the headache and then you look in its test of possible clues as to what is the cause.

Same thing with AWR. Ask your users what's troubling them. So look AWR and try to see explanations for it.

  • explain plan before and after?

is there a way to know what sql plan was before and what plan using is right now?

I know we can look to dba_hist_sql_plan but don't know how to put all the togeather...

    I'm on 10.2.0.3

I have a sql this running slow at that time, I have the sql_id for it now... looks like God's throne
slow and last week it was fine... you need to know what the plan of the explanation was last week?

If you lincenced use the AWR and history tables, you can do

SELECT * FROM TABLE (DBMS_XPLAN. DISPLAY_AWR ('& SQL_ID')); -to get the SQL execution plan, as he was executed in history

For the current, you know how to get it

    SELECT * FROM TABLE (DBMS_XPLAN. DISPLAY_CURSOR ('& SQL_ID'));
    SELECT * FROM TABLE (DBMS_XPLAN. DISPLAY ('& SQL_ID'));

You can also query dba_hist_sql_plan, and format the results.

  • STATSPACK/AWR

    Hi all

Anyone can answer my query below

What is the recommended interval during which instant execution statspack or AWR and why?

    Thank you
    Concerning

For statspack, simply use the Oracle condition spauto.sql and you'll get a glimpse of the once per hour.
Make it longer, and you will not be able to discover the peaks of high activity.
If you have performance problems, a useful interval is 15 minutes. Shorten and statspack activities will probably begin to strain database.
