Backlight always on

Is there a way to programatically let the backlight always on?

I tried this:

Backlight.enable(true);
Backlight.enable(true, 86400); // a whole day

but did not work. I tried to trigger the first autodim in options and then run the application, but it still does not work.

A thread of control of light and flashing periodically is not an acceptable solution for me.

I test on Simulator (JDE 4.2.1) and real device (8310).

    Hello

As far as I know the Satellite 5200 is about 2 years old. At this time, all the tools and utilities are designed to operate correctly with delivered Windows Xp OS. As you know Windows vista for now is just a trial version and not the official market. It makes sense, than the old tools and uses can t work properly and is not a type of problem.

I put t think that Toshiba will create any type of updates for older models.

  • Screen 15-N090SA problem

OK, so has my laptop for a little less than a year now. Everything works fine until yesterday when I started, the screen turns a solid red, blue, green for a few seconds, then became black (backlight always on) and there it has remained, have restarted several times and for each appointment, it goes directly to the black screen, I have it plugged into my TV via the HDMI working well can see and use as usual. Anyone know if the LCD is knackard or is there a solution?

    Thanks in advance,

    Sam

    Hi Sam,

According to your description, this could as the screen does not - you can check it as follows.

Shut down the laptop and unplug your TV.

Now TAP the ESC key as soon as you start Notepad to open the Start Menu - If you still don't see anything on the screen of the laptop then it is fairly certain that it's a hardware problem.

You mention that your laptop is a little less a year old, in which case it should still be under warranty, contact HP and arrange for repair - you can check the status of your warranty so just here.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

    Kind regards

  • CQ62-410US stuck with "Several monitor - Clone View" and VGA port does not

    Hello!

I have a Compaq CQ62-410US computer laptop with an Intel GMA 4500 M (onboard) video card and a port output VGA, Windows 7 x 64 operating system. A few weeks back the screen was broken (kick straight punch of a child) and nothing could be transmitted via the VGA output either, but the laptop booted and I could hear the sound of Windows 7 logon. I never checked before the VGA output port.
Yesterday, I replaced the screen broke up with and identical. The fine (full-screen) display in case of back work (boot from USB Flash and the sea + test images), but in Windows 7, two vertical black stripes appeared on the sides because lower than the native resolution. The resolution can be changed at native 1366 x 768 "Screen resolution" because the display is set by default to "Multiple monitors" (I have no other monitor connected, only the built-in screen) and "display of Clone. The built-in display is set as secondary and 'Generic non - PnP' is defined as primary. Any attempt to set the integrated display as primary function or to change the mode "display single" / "Extend view" leads to a black screen with the backlight always on, no matter where I change the settings - in the 'screen Resolution' or 'Graphic properties' (from driver Intel). In the 'Screen Resolution' window the pictogram of the screens show a single screen split in two, and when I press the button "Identify" it shows on the screen ' 1 | 2 ", as you left half of the screen is the main display and half right is the secondary display.
I put a Philips monitor to the VGA port, Windows detects and installs the appropriate driver, but there is no picture any of mode I put - Clone, Extend, unique display - monitor.
I tested 3 view of the site of Compaq drivers for my device and the GMA 4500 M drivers from Intel, but the problem is the same (with the drivers from the site intel, on I get only black screen with backlighting.) Pilots are unstable, sometimes at the opening session, page is only a black screen (but before the windows loading screen appear very well) that cannot be changed by "Fn + F4" / "F4" (change view) but a black with the backlight is turned off.
Due to the replacement of the hard disk, I can't use restore of the operating system that is installed at the factory.
Please advise me how to solve the display problem and enable the port VGA (get the image on the external monitor).
    Thank you in advance.
SSM there is not output through the VGA input even at the BIOS screen (no material or to issue independent of the operating system support?).

    I have attached a screenshot.

Update: I started a live Knoppix CD, and I don't find any problem - unique in 1366 x 768 display configuration; I could even play a game in 3D (OpenGL). While hanging from one monitor to the VGA port, it was found, but when trying to print image to it the OS hung. I guess it's a hardware problem, something to do with the video controller.

I thought about it, it's the GPU, I think that some of the contacts are damaged. Today even in the BIOS screen I see in the middle of the screen a vertical thin purple line which was bounded two screens on a single screen, and all now have a purple tint.

I had a quick glance at the GPU and surprise - it is glued to the motherboard, no sleeve, no welding. The motherboard chipset is also stuck.

    See the attached images.

Thank you for the excellent support. I will never buy anything with Compaq logo on it.

  • LaserJet 9050

After the printer warms up (30 minutes) the screen goes white, backlight always on, turns off the network. Power cycle still not good. Turn the printer off for a few hours printer works fine until it heats up again.  Replaced trainer, DC controller, same problem.  Any suggestions?

If the test engine is ok, which eliminates the controller power supply and dc.  What memory and firmware.  Have you moved since the trainer from the old to the new, or you use the same memory.  This could be the problem.  After it is run a log of the events in the menu diagnosis and see if the last error is the current number of pages.  If that's what is the error message or an event?

  • 9000 "BOLD" of blackBerry Smartphones starting frozen after OS update

Today, I tried to upgrade to the new OS through Desktop Manager 5.0. The backup is complete, and the software installed. The process of the impasse on the portion of reboot. My phone turned on, and I saw the screen blackberry with the following loading bar. Fill the loading bar and then my phone screen AT & T orange usual world came (which usually lasts about 5 seconds until the Welcome screen appears). However, the orange screen lasted more than an hour. Because the software was already installed, I did a battery pull. The phone starts on the same AT & T screen and stops. The backlight always fades as usual and comes back up on top of a push button but its stuck there with no screen, now for another 3 hours. It will not allow me to try to clean or reinstall the OS because the phone must be running to do, and he said he cannot connect to the phone (but it does not recognize my camera when its plugged into the computer). I have searched the forums for similar problems, but others have not found my problem. Any help would be great. Thank you.

    Try this:

    (1) make sure that you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    (2) on your PC, go to start > run and copy and paste the following line exactly (i.e. with quotation marks):

    'c:\program files\common research in motion\apploader\loader.exe' /nojvm

    (3) the Application Loader Wizard will appear - click on "next".
    (4) in the ' connection: ' drop-down menu, you should see "USB - PIN: UNKNOWN". Click on the button "next".
    (5) you should see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Press Next and finish, and that you are well on your way to get your Blackberry to life.

Just unplug and let the process finish completely.

NOTE: If you do not display the list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead to see the message "the Blackberry Desktop Software has no Blackberry Device Software for the device you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator', then you must download the Blackberry operating system for your support and your device.
    http://www.BlackBerryFAQ.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads
Just select the appropriate type of carrier and network, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the steps above again and you should be on the right track.

  • Classic BlackBerry how to disable always classic keyboard LED backlight?

I would like to minimize exposed to the LED lights up and I would like to know how to always turn off the LED backlight classic keyboard. I know that this is not necessarily easy, as long as I use the electronic device these days, but I would appreciate your advice. Thank you.

There is no way to disable the backlight key. It is completely controlled automatically.

  • Satellite M40 (PSM40): backlight is always on

I've had my laptop for about 3 years now without a single problem. I can't connect to the internet because it is only for audio use.

About 2-3 weeks ago, I tried to update the video drivers for a video application, I tried to run. I installed and everything was going well for a few days. Then one day I turned on my laptop and the backlight will not light. After awhile I * think * I have sucessfully cancelled the display driver and reinstalled original drivers. A few days later (after a lot of frustration) the backlight still worked until today.

Same situation, I turn on the laptop and the backlight will not light. I tried the same trick as before, but it didn't work. Strangely enough, I simply turn off completely and then restarted and the backlight is again.

I looked in the power settings and I am sure that this has nothing to do with it. is there anything else I can do to eliminate where it is associated with software? Are there other settings that I can check?

    Hi mate,

It s certainly hard to tell where the problem lies. I would tend to say: "it s a hardware problem (-> the display inverter)" but the fact that you´ve installed a driver takes me by surprise and I wonder if a driver can really cause such an error.
In your case, I would first try to exclude a hardware problem to update the BIOS and the recovery of your machine. Look pretty and clean reinstall in order to exclude any possibilities of software-releated.

So if you are ready to try my suggestion I would appreciate if you give a status report on your situation shaped in a small post. :)

    Welcome them

  • After you call Backlight.enable (true), the display remains always black.

I call Backlight.enable (true) in a thread of non-event to try to turn the light back on. However, the screen remains black even Backlight.isEnable () returns Boolean true. Could someone help me understand what could possibly go wrong? Thanks in advance!

Here is the excerpt of the program:

    Backlight.Enable (true);

    try {}

Thread.Sleep (1000L);  allow the thread to repain event the screen when you turn on the backlight

    } catch (InterruptedException e) {}

Boolean isLightOn = Backlight.isEnable (); Notice: Returns 'true' here, but the screen remains black.

Please ignore this message. This is because the demand is not a UiApplication.

  • Portege Z830 - backlight of the screen remains off after sleep

    Hello guys!

As described in the topic, the display backlight remains always off when my PT225E z830 returns from sleep mode. It's the only backlight, because I can see the image weakly if I have the screen against a light. Also using FN + F7 does not alter this State. The only thing that works is to restart.

Y at - it an update of the display driver? Or is there any workaround to get back the backlight of the screen?
Moreover, the bios is up-to-date with the version v1.60.

    Thanks for the reply!

    Hello

Have you noticed this problem on the first day of use, or later?
Have you changed anything, installed additional software or maybe your own version of the OS?

  • Satellite C50D-A-138 backlight does not

Hi, I have a major problem with my laptop. The backlight of the display will not work. I can see only vaguely the image. I tried to adjust BRIGHTNESS, no joy. It displays very well to a monitor. I tried to replace the screen and Ribbon connection, but the question always arises. Does anyone have any ideas? I am at a loss.

    Paul

    Hello

Connect the external monitor if the same display problem appears on the external display and check.
Where everything seems properly on the external monitor, the problem must be the internal display panel.

The laptop display panel seems to use a backlight LED as the light source.
So probably the backlight of the screen does not work correctly. In this case, the display board must be replaced.

You must ensure that you use the Panel compatible because many laptop displays different support technology (TFT panels without backlight and display supporting the backlight as the construction of a C50D-a)

  • Portege Z30t - how to disable display backlight?

    Hello

I'm just trying to find how to disable the backlight of the display on my new Z30t.
While the process is always running, just to save energy.

Here, I have the FN keys to put the light upwards or downwards, but they won't back down to zero, and there is no key to stop.
I've had 6 laptops so far, and all had a FN key to turn off the display to save power.
So I'm kind of scratching my head, how to do here.

In addition, I would like to reprogram some FN keys as I don't need FN standby and hibernation.
Could not find information on this topic, also.

    Any idea? Help, please!

    Thanks, Tommy

You can use the FN in order to increase and decrease the backlight of the display, but you can not close the screen completely using these function keys.

If you want to turn off the display after a certain time, I recommend you to change the settings in the Windows power options.

Go to the Control Panel-> Power Options
Select a map page of power, on the left click here, choose when turn off the display.
The parameters of change for the plan page, choose the display settings you want to use for this power plan when your laptop is running on battery and when it is plugged.

  • Tecra A4: Display backlight does not work

    Hi all

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I came across a dilemma. My sister laptop screen broke (baby) and it was far from always being in warranty and we had not assured him. So I bought a new screen for it and it mounted fine. When I turn on the laptop, I can hardly do anything on the screen as if the backlight does not work.

I see that it is there, it's just very very dark. I thought this would be a problem with the inverter. So I bought a new one of those too, but alas, it still does not. I can do all things beautiful to display on an external monitor via the VGA port.

    Someone at - it ideas?

    Thank you once again

    Danh

    Hello

I understand you want to save money, but especially help the technician is most recommended as repair by yourself.
In any case, as mentioned, you should be sure that the cable has been connected in the right way.
You must connect the LCD/FL cable to connector LCD/FLand connect the cable to connector HV HT. Place the module LCD, the FL inverter board in the correct position.

    Good luck!
