    Hi, I have an SL500 and the hard drive was 250 GB, but there are 211 gb available. in any case, I noticed that I was somehow only left out of 211 gb 80 GB. I asked that he was a technician at IBM and at - he said it was my backup of files. now, the drive from my computer q crashed in March of me to try to do something with the back ups and I need a whole new HDD, but my music has been registered via a flash drive.  the tech guy said that I should remove my old back ups. very well, very well. IM do that tonight and it is literally taken hours and right when I click on 'remove' it is not an answer.  I had my computer folder (? I think it's what you call) open so I could see how much space I had, and it DECREASES in fact then I was "suppression" of backups, and yet it was inadmissible. She went from 80 GB to 60 GB. Please help me solve this problem, im shaking for fear of losing my files because I don't want to do it like the last time. I don't know what could be taken from so much space.

    I plan to buy an external hard drive in the next week but please help me, I'm 17 and I'm relics fear of losing my files again and my 19 GB of music.

    Help, please

    Rescue and recovery in your folder of ThinkVantage software creates backups (a full backup and the others are incremental) and stores them on another part of the HARD drive that you will not be able to see just by going to the properties of the C: drive.

    Check the record of ThinkVantage Rescue and Recovery

    Start-> all programs-> ThinkVantage (or Lenovo Care)-> Rescue and Recovery

    Once you are there, you will see a bar upstairs with 4 or 5 options. Here, you have the ability to view the size of your backups. You also have the option to delete them. Search for the word "Advanced" in the menu bar, then select 'delete backups"to remove them and free up space on your hard drive. Don't forget that you can also "schedule" of your backups and you can choose to change the location you want to that backups going. For example, you can have the backups Save on a CD or on a drive of 'network '.

    If you have Vista as an operating system, you can go to this document on our site of Lenovo to get a general understanding of our HARD drive partitions:

    Here's what I use and recommend: (these are all free and very effective versions.)

    Avast and Prevx proved extremely reliable and compatible with all I have
    launched on them. Microsoft Security Essentials and Prevx have also proven to be very
    reliable and compatible. Use MSE or Avast and Prevx, Prevx 3 but not all.

    Avast Home free - stop any shields is not necessary except leave the file system, Web,.
    Operational network (Script and behavior are also recommended in Ver 6 +).

    Prevx - Home - free

    Windows Firewall

    Windows Defender (is not necessary if you use MSE)

    Protected IE - mode

    IE 8 - SmartScreen filter WE (IE 7 phishing filter)

    I also IE always start with asset if filter InPrivate IE 8.

    Two versions of Avast are available 6.x and 4.8 x

    Prevx works well alongside MSE or Avast

    Also get Malwarebytes - free - use as scanner only. If you ever think malware and that

  • Cannot delete backup iCloud

    Hello

    iCloud storage said I'm using 3.71 GB as "Backup" (yellow bar), but I did not all backups (see the screenshot).  I have disabled all backups, delete photos, basically everything but it is always showing 3.71 GB is used and I have no way of knowing what is 'saved' or how to remove anything.

    How can I remove this "backup data" and recover the storage space?

    Thank you, Mark

    Have you tried allowing the back upward so that the delete option appears.

  • This backup cannot be deleted at this time

    MY icloud is not back up my data. There is a previous backup of 0 KB, but when I try to remove it it says the backup cannot be deleted at this time. Someone please do me the favor to resolve the problem

    Same problem, cannot delete the backup if I do it on my iPhone or my Mac.

    Settings > iCloud > storage > managing storage > select my iPhone backup > delete backup > enable disable and remove > "" could not delete Backup - this backup cannot be deleted at this time. ' "

    System Preferences > iCloud > Manage > backup > select my iPhone backup > remove > remove > "presents selected items could not be removed.» -Try again later.

    Apple support personnel I talked on the phone has confirmed that she could see several backups on my iCloud, even if I am only able to see a. It is also noted that she find it strange that my backups are not crash each time it backups and a few other backups are dated on the same period of time.

    She said that this is apparently a known issue, and Apple is aware of it.

    Wonder how true it is.

  • RUN 'delete noprompt obsolete' before 'backup database '.

    Hello

    11g on windows 2003, window 3 day recovery

    For almost a year now, I have after having run the script every day to save my database below. Now I begin to run out of disk space and cannot run backup commands unless I run 'delete noprompt obsolete' first.

    backup database tag = database_full_backup;
    backup ARCHIVELOG all delete them tag input = achivelog_backup;
    cross-checking of backup;
    delete the backup expired;
    delete noprompt obsolete;

    Is it a bad idea to rearange the order of commands like below?

    cross-checking of backup;
    delete the backup expired;
    delete noprompt obsolete;
    backup database tag = database_full_backup;
    backup ARCHIVELOG all delete them tag input = achivelog_backup;

    Thanks for any help

    Hello
    No problem. You have configured a window of 3 days recovery, it means you want to be able to restore/recovery sysdate - X (up to 3 X) at any time. RMAN which will always respect, you can "remove obsolete" when you want.

  • 6 s/iOS iPhone 9.3.5 Confusion of backup/restore/synchronize

    I recently needed to backup, delete and restore my 6s more to unlock it by the carrier.

    I downloaded iTunes on my laptop and made a captive backup via iTunes and also a backup over Wi - Fi to ensure against corruption.  According to receipt messages, eventually led both successfully.

    I erased and reset the iPhone and tried to restore from backup in iTunes on my PC.  In the end, I received a message stating that certain elements could not be restored from the backup and would require synchronization.

    Hoping to achieve a 'clean' restoration, I erased and reset the phone again and tried to restore it Wi - Fi, a process not fully understand because it does not seem to be a separate procedure.  It seems to restore part of the phone and the settings and the rest continue to download in the following hours.

    In the hope of "sync" my way out of the long time requirement by it attach to the PC and the synchronization of the purchased and other content including iTunes transferred to my PC during the backup process.  Despite my PC containing all of the content of the phone in iTunes library files, synchronization of the results in a message that the phone has been synched to another iTunes to another PC library which no longer exists.

    I can't be the first person to question why the iPhone and iTunes don't update automatically to recognize each other as current, as the whole purpose for phone synchronization was to restore the phone and the content on the same State after unlocking it by the carrier.  I don't want to remove any content that is saved in my computer, corrupt iTunes library or lose any multimedia content that has been saved and restored but now doesn't exist anywhere else.

    I'm particularly stupid?  Surely others have encountered similar frustrations and most intelligent people I have discovered how to work in the arcane procedures of Apple.  I would be grateful for any helpful guidance that will help me to get my phone back to where it was a few hours before before releasing the carrier.  They of course don't warn you of this potential drawback - or I would have never bothered.

    Thank you in advance to all those who provide useful assistance.

    No, you're not stupid at all. I don't know what happened in your case, but the normal procedure would be to backup on iTunes (forget iCloud, not as good IMO), get your phone unlocked by the carrier and check it, then restore the backup. There are some things that would be included not in the restoration, as photo albums previously synchronized from a computer. You'd have to re-sync those still separately but not much there.

    Try the above, once more and if this does not help, after return with specific details.

  • How to backup my iphone

    I have an iPhone 6 and I wanted to update my IOS 9.3.2 software. iTunes told me that I have to support my phone to continue. I clicked 'save', after a few minutes, the sign has come: "iTunes could not saved the iPhone... because iPhone disconnected", even though my iPhone have not stopped and I was always being able to copy my photos on the phone! What can I do to fix this and to save my phone?

    There are two things to try.  First - back to iCloud, rather than iTunes on your computer.  The second thing is to remove the backup that is already stored on your computer.  Go to iTunes and in your Menu bar go to iTunes > Preferences > devices.  Identify the old backup, delete and then back up your iPhone back to iTunes and you should no longer have the disconnect message you may receive.

  • Backups taking over 130 GB of 160 GB, getting 'Startup Disk Full' and the computer does not. Help!

    I fight for free space on one of my older iMacs work and I am to the point that we cannot use it because the startup disk is full.  I've recently upgraded to Snow Leopard OSX Lion (10.7.5) so I could update our video editing software, Adobe Premier.

    We run all our video projects on external hard drives, which does not have the boot disk space and are always good on the erasure of files from the Recycle Bin, audio, photo and video so that they are not get bogged down.  About this Mac shows my 160 GB boot drive contains 8.87 GB Audio, 7.69 GB, 6,49 Photos GB movies, 6.58 GB Apps and a huge 129.34 GB of backups.  I have time Machine backed up on an external hard drive and can't seem to find out where these files are to be removed from the startup disk.

    Turn off time Machine and restart does not clear space.  I have even made the Terminal kill command no matter what auto backups, deleted device and old library version in iTunes, etc.  and I have no backup label appears when I bring up the screen of star wars of the time Machine. I went through so many stages and suggestions to get this machine working again.  I understand these backups are supposed to remove themselves automatically, but why are there still first place if I save on the outside?

    PS I'm not very computer savvy, but I know my way around.  Additional suggestions are appreciated - please let me know if I need to provide more information.

  • backup rman design database with phsical ensures

    Hello

    12 c database, after physical expectation is created, I need backup rman configuration,

    The goal is: a) backup of database b) remove archivelogs that have been backed up, free up space FRA.

    Design as below:

    1:

    in RMAN (primary and standby):
    RMAN >
    Configure controlfile autobackup on;
    set the type of backup device type disk compressed backupset;
    CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG DELETION POLICY TO APPLIED ON ALL STANDBY;

    2: primary school:
    RMAN > CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY to the 5 DAY RECOVERY WINDOW;

    3: in priamry, turn on track changes to block

    4: primary, implemented since rman level 0 (full backup) on Sunday.

    5: in the primary, the installation program rman level 1 backup from Monday to Saturday.

    6: primary, set up since rman "save archive backup delete them all obsolete" every hour;

    questions here:

    1. as in step 5, for the protection of the o and delete archivelog, the script using:

    Run {}
    allocate channel d1 type disk;
    SQL 'alter system archive log current';
    overlap archivelog all;
    backup AS COMPRESSED BACKUPSET archivelog all delete them all input;
    output channel d1;
    }

    I wonder if ' archivelog all delete all entries "will delete archivelog which was not taken on the eve of the database and broken standby database

    (hanging and out-of-sync with primary)... it is a concern, is that possible?

    2. If the primary database crashed, failover to standby mode, then restore/recovery primary, switch back to the primary, this design is just? If you have any good suggestions, please let me know.

    (to put it simply, I don't want to full/incremental backup to install standby, primary server CPU is good enough)

    Thank you very much!

  • Problem with the archive log when you use RMAN for backup and restore (11g 2)

    Hello world
    Please help me solve this problem.
    I'm just beginner in Oracle Database (11 g 2). Today, I had a problem, I tried to back up and restore my db by RMAN. I delete all the files in /u01/app/oracle/oradata/orcl / * , then I restore them easily, but the point is I have a table, I can restore Hungarian, but cannot restore anything ranks in it (something wrong with step restore database). I'll tell the detail below.
    -First, I create a 'Day' with command table create table hr.day (varchar (20)) day. Then I backup complete by this:
    run{
    allocate channel bkp device type DISK FORMAT '/u01/backup/DB_FULL_%d_%T_s%s_p%p' ;
    backup as compressed backupset incremental level 0 tag 'DB_FULL' database include current controlfile;
    backup as compressed backupset tag 'ARCL_BKP_FULL' archivelog all delete input;
    crosscheck archivelog all;
    crosscheck backup;
    delete noprompt obsolete;
    release channel bkp;
    }

    D ' other hand, I have insert 'Monday' to table. then do an incremental backup by this:

    run{
    allocate channel bkp device type DISK FORMAT '/u01/backup/DB_INC_%d_%T_s%s_p%p' ;
    backup as compressed backupset incremental level 1 tag 'DB_INC' database include current controlfile;
    backup as compressed backupset tag 'ARCL_BKP_INC' archivelog all delete input;
    crosscheck archivelog all;
    crosscheck backup;
    delete noprompt obsolete;
    release channel bkp;
    }

    Repeat 7 times (Monday-> Saturday). And I got these files:

    [oracle@rac ~]$ ls -l /u01/backup/
    total 400280

    If i ignore it and open the database, just my table in full backup come back but rows was not restored. I'm sure the problem is my archive log backup but i don't know how to solve it. Plz help me.

    Sorry for a long post.

    > 1 and from the 1205841 SNA sequence

    The SCN that indicates Oracle is above the range of SNA that you have in the ArchiveLog backups for sequence 1 to 15 (15 sequence ends at 1205840).

    The message

    channel ORA_DISK_1: restoring archives Journal

    Archives journal thread = 1 sequence = 15

    channel ORA_DISK_1: backup/u01/backup/DB_INC_ORCL_20160120_s117_p1 piece reading

    channel ORA_DISK_1: piece handle = / u01/backup/DB_INC_ORCL_20160120_s117_p1 tag = ARCL_BKP_INC

    indicates that he has restored the sequence up to 15

    You can check the log file alert database instance for messages on the fact of recovery.

    He is now asking sequence #1 it seems you did a RESETLOGS after sequence #15.

    Note: If you have NOT issued a COMMIT after the line is INSERTED in the table 'Day', the recovery of the database will have no * transactions * to retrieve.  An uncomitted transaction is cancelled.

  • RMAN backup and restore into Production KEEPS RAC and DATA

    Hi gurus of the Oracle

    We need the expert advice for tune and cross check the RMAN Script for Production environment below below

    Please suggest any corrections or comments on below mention scripts which will be executed on RAC and Production DATA GUARD environment

    LINUX RHEL 5.5 64-bit
    ORACLE GRID Infrastructure R2 Version 11.2.0.3.0 (we use ASM Cluster File system)
    ORACLE11g R2 Version 11.2.0.3.0

    We planned for basically rman backup drive using control file target instead of recovery catalog database

    We will have Data Guard Setup between 2 remote sites of database and two remote sites have running the local 2-node RAC database

    Thank you mseberg

    This command is the full backup or a backup of level 0?

    full backup as compressed backupset
    data include current controlfile more archivelog deletion entry;

    We use command below for the full backup of database.
    database backup incremental level 0 FORMAT ' / backup/RMAN_Backup/rman_bkp_%U_%d_%T_DATAFILE_LVL0_%D_%M_%Y'
    include current controlfile
    tag 'datafile_full ';

    We use the command below to the increment backup
    database backup incremental level 1 FORMAT ' / backup/RMAN_Backup/rman_bkp_%U_%d_%T_DATAFILE_LVL1_%D_%M_%Y'
    include current controlfile
    tag 'datafile_Incr ';

    What is the different when we use
    CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG DELETION POLICY TO APPLIED ON STANDBY;

    or

    full backup as backupset compressed database include controlfile current more archivelog delete all input;

  • RMAN - obsolete command to delete without confirmation

    Hello world

    I created a small script witch remove obsolete or expired RMAN backups.

    The problem is: the delete "obsolete" and the command "delete expired backup" needs a confirmation by YES. Could I give the script the command this way, that I don't need to confirm the order and it deletes the backups directly?

    Here is my small script:
    #!/bin/ksh

    export ORACLE_SID=dbtest2
    export ORACLE_HOME=/home/oracle/srv/ora/product/11.2.0/dbtest_2
    export ORACLE_BIN=/home/oracle/srv/ora/product/11.2.0/dbtest_2/bin
    alias RMAN=$ORACLE_BIN/rman

    RMAN target / > report_del_obsolete 2>&1 <<EOI

        delete expired backup;
        delete obsolete;
        quit

    EOI
    Thanks for the answers and ideas!

    Kind regards
