Backup function behaves as save as

In recent months, some customers on Reader X have reported that when they go to save a form (Acroform and XFA) they filled, using a file > save or Ctrl-S or the icon Save, they are invited to a file name and a location - this is the behavior of the file > save as.  Whatever they do, there is no simple save - I can reproduce this. The behavior continues even when the user goes through the process of SaveAs, overwriting the existing form. Immediately open the form once again, by clicking on save the Save action forces under...    Help, please.

The same forms open in Reader 9 behaves correctly. The above behavior has been replicated with Reader X on Windows XP and Win7

Seems that the reason of the customer above has to do with protected X drive and philosophy of security sandbox mode the Adobe General.

Protected mode can be configured through the registry as follows:

1. go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\10.0\Privileged.
Note: the application uses an internal key. The real key does not exist by default and therefore does not appear until the key is created manually.

2. right click and choose new > DWORD value.

3. create a bProtectedMode.

4. right click on bProtectedMode and click on modify.

5. set the value to 0 to disable the Protected Mode and 1 to enable it.

    · You are the administrator of the computer?

    Step 1: Make sure that you are connected to the computer as an administrator. If you are not then you will need administrator to help you in the backup.

    Step 2: Temporarily disable the antivirus and check if the problem persists. If no problem occurs, then you need to firewall settings in the security software.

    Note: Check that you activate your anti-virus protection on the computer back after you complete these steps. It is not recommended to disable these settings on the computer. It's just to solve the problem.

    About the automatic backup, in general, I don't trust it in any NLE. I learned to not rely on this topic. I don't know why, but the function can be finicky, any program you use.

    The right thing to do is, of course, let Auto Save its backups. It is supposed to work. However, you must create your own backup vault for the flies of your project by duplicating the project file or by using the Save as function. If you do this several times a day, you will always have a working upwards if your automatic backup is working correctly or not.

    That said, I hope that we can improve our automatic backup. It should work perfectly. Sorry to hear that he has let you down.

    Thank you

  • Backup and restore can save to the network location?

    Help:

    "If you save your backups on a hard drive or network, Windows backup will create a new, full backup for you automatically if necessary."

    This indicates, it is possible to save backups on a network location, but I don't see a way to specify a backup and restore settings.  It only shows hard drives, DVD, etc..

    You can save your backups on a network location on Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 ultimate and Windows 7 Enterprise.

  • Windows 7 backup function does not recognize the external drive connected to the wireless router

    I installed a Belkin router for my laptop and pc, it came with a usb port so that I can connect my external hard drive directly and share it as a backup drive.  But when I tried to set up in Windows 7, the backup options list.  The network recognizes it, but Windows will not let me select it as backup destination.  A buddy of mine said that the backup of Windows 7 does not work with network drives, but no matter who else thought of it?  Thnx.

    It depends on the flavor of Windows 7. The Home Premium version will not network disks, backup but the Ultimate version. You can connect your drive as a USB drive when you make your backup.

  • 'Save' behaves like "save under".

    Hello

    We have an application which exports user files open on a network drive.

    For example

    1. The user opens the file for editing.
    2. File is exported to \\SERVER\ < username > \document.pdf - a folder on which the user has read full and write access to.
    3. File is opened with Acrobat Reader.
    4. The user does with the annotations and comments.
    5. When the user hits 'save' the ' Save as ' box Monte. The expected behavior would be for Acrobat reader save the file in the folder he opened the file without asking.

    Essentially, this breaks the application because it is not expected that the user knows how to access the < username > \\SERVER\.

    The same behavior occurs when you open a PDF file on a local drive outside the application.

    Users of Adobe Acrobat Pro MS does not have this bug.

    Tried but failed solutions:

    Disabling "show storage online when you save files.

    'Repair installation' under the menu help.

    Version information:

    Adobe Acrobat Reader Version DC 2015.010.20060

    Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit

    This happens when protected mode is enabled.

  • Backup rights improved player save date

    I have a script to insert the current date in a form. When I save the form with the improved player rights, he of course saves the day. Is it possible to add readers improved rights and have even the work of script to fill the current date for the end user?

    Thank you

    MDawn

    Hello

    You can solve this problem.

    1. wrap your script date in an if/else-expression - it is an example of FormCalc:

    If ($.rawValue == null) then

    $.rawValue = Num2Date (date (DD). ("' MR. YYYY")

    on the other

    $.rawValue

    endif

    2. prior to you reader select the form, clear the field. It will stay empty because of the if/else expression.

    If your this readOnly or protected field, you must use the JS console to clear the field. -There is a sample to access the "dateField1" under Form1.Page1.Subform1.

    this.xfa.form.Form1.Page1.Subform1.dateField1.rawValue = null;

  • [locked] Obscure function will not save?

    PS CS4 has a feature that shows which resemble certain types of color blindness.  It must be some kind of filter, but is not listed in the filters.

    I want to show people what the dog vision is that compared to human vision, but can't seem to find a way to save the image once the feature is applied

    If you go to the menu bar

    View > Proof Setup > color blindness - Type protanopia

    the image is converted to what you would see if you had this type of color blindness.

    I can't find a way to save him.  When I "Save" me she just goes back and saves the image as a .tif and it's the image intact.

    Any suggestions?

  • Problem with SaveAs function using random paths.

    The installation program:

    Part 1) I have a script to the folder level that allows me to exercise a SaveAs function within forms. I'm doing this as a way to save the document quietly in the background. The effect is that the file is replaced with a copy of itself. The script is:

    var mySaveAs = app.trustedFunction (function (oDoc, cPath, cFlName)

    {

    app.beginPriv ();

    cPath = cPath.replace(/([^\/])$ /, ' $1 / ');

    try {}

    oDoc.saveAs (cPath + cFlName);

    } catch (e) {}

    App.Alert ("error during save it");

    }

    app.endPriv ();

    });

    Part 2) of my documents, I have to check by calling the function below:

    function runSave()

    {if (typeof (mySaveAs) == 'function') {}

    var pathArray = this.path.split("/"); "

    var myFileName = pathArray [pathArray.length - 1];

    cPath var = this.path.slice(0,myFileName);

    mySaveAs (this, cPath, myFileName);

    } else {}

    App.Alert ("Missing Save Function\n" + "Please contact forms administrator");

    }

    }

    Part 3) I have several large forms that use automatic recording to call save work according to a time interval of 5 minutes, using:

    app.setInterval (runSave (), 300000);

    The problem:

    Part 1) automatic backup function works very well and it works silently in the background. However, I started having problems when I open two forms at the same time. If, for example, I have a form of an open folder and open a form from a second folder, the save feature will sometimes save the active document in its original folder (as expected, crashing and creating an automatic registration) or sometimes save to original folder of the second document. This leaves me a copy update (automatic check) of the document in the right folder, and a copy not updated in the original folder. This seems to vary on what document I opened finally or document that is currently active. Although I can't find the right combination.

    It's like thinking what is to confuse the "this.path.

    Part 2) worse, if two documents have the same name, as is often the case with these forms, any incorrect saving deposit causes a crash of the second document and data loss.

    Part 3) makes it maddening, as sometimes happens when no record or the second second document is open. Instead, damaging it saves the active document in a recently viewed folder. For example, I'm going to open a local folder and open a Word doc, close the file and the doc, go to another folder in a different root (a folder in network), open the form and automatically saves it on the local computer in the folder with the Word doc. So now not only do I have a copy not updated in my folder, I have no idea where the updated copy was actually saved to until I met some time later.

    Part 4) once again, worse still, the previously viewed folder could happen which contains a document with the same name, and that the document is crushed by the automatic backup. I have no idea that the form was crushed until I sometimes open a little later and see that it contains a completely different form data.

    What is happening and how it stop?

    Adobe Acrobat X Pro on a PC.

    The code for this tutorial is unfortunately wasn't working, I discovered recently.

    This is my own personal code for a trust saveAs method. Note that it takes 2 parameters, not 3.

    safeSaveAs = {app.trustPropagatorFunction (function (doc, vPath)}

    app.beginPriv ();

    doc.saveAs({cPath:vPath});)

    app.endPriv ();

    });

    myTrustedSaveAs = {app.trustedFunction (function (doc, vPath)}

    app.beginPriv ();

    safeSaveAs (doc, vPath);

    app.endPriv ();

    });

    You call it like this:

    myTrustedSaveAs (this, "/ c/temp/test.pdf");

    You should not keep emails you need in the trash folder / deleted. This file can be used as a temporary operation to get back accidentally deleted messages, it is not really a place to organize emails you don't want to lose. Trash is the unwanted emails. This folder must be emptied and compacted on a regular basis.

    You don't say how you save, or what you save.

    You don't need to save the program Thunderbird - this may be the reason for the error message. you need to back up the Thunderbird profile folder; the two are not in the same place.

    You closed Thunderbird? If not, close it before creating the backup. (This could be the reason for the error message.)
    If you have a POP email account, did install and use the program MozBackup?

    Install Mozbackup
    Create a backup using Mozbackup. then save a copy of this file on an external hard drive or any other suitable device *.pcv.
