'Save' behaves like "save under".
Hello
We have an application which exports user files open on a network drive.
For example
- The user opens the file for editing.
- File is exported to \\SERVER\ < username > \document.pdf - a folder on which the user has read full and write access to.
- File is opened with Acrobat Reader.
- The user does with the annotations and comments.
- When the user hits 'save' the ' Save as ' box Monte. The expected behavior would be for Acrobat reader save the file in the folder he opened the file without asking.
Essentially, this breaks the application because it is not expected that the user knows how to access the < username > \\SERVER\.
The same behavior occurs when you open a PDF file on a local drive outside the application.
Users of Adobe Acrobat Pro MS does not have this bug.
Tried but failed solutions:
Disabling "show storage online when you save files.
'Repair installation' under the menu help.
Version information:
Adobe Acrobat Reader Version DC 2015.010.20060
Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit
This happens when protected mode is enabled.

Page "save under" appears when I try to print from Firefox
When I use my Verizon DSL and Firefox (this doesn't happen if I use Explorer int.) and I wish to print information from the internet, I do a Ctl P for print. Instead of print, I get a page "save under" I can not help to appear. The page includes: "save under" in the upper part with a box of savings to (E.g.: documents), then has a list in any of the 'name', 'Update', 'Type', 'Size' and 'Tags' in the upper part. Then, a list of items such as games, my stationery, new folder, Sansa Updater. Then at the bottom there is a list for 'File name' with an area for the name. Then under that a 'save As Type' (PDF). Then a backup or the Cancel button.
This has happened
Each time Firefox opened
Is a month ago
I can't print anything either on Firefox but on IE everything prints fine. I get as much better Firefox so would like a solution to my problem.

I can't make a "save under" with any office of PGE and only lift lock W Explorer with most activity file except moving deeper in dir. I tried many things to fix, but do not provide me with XP disc and cannot reinstal Windows from Dell.
Hi Tdonone,
Looks like there could be a problem with the hard drive. its certainly worth running some tests on if possible. It is a dell machine you may be able to run a hard drive test when the computer starts by using the f8 key, but if not you must download a free software called theultimatebootcd and burn it to a cd and then start the computer on the cd and use the software on the disk to perform checks on the hard drive. To help do this see here -http://www.mypchealth.co.uk/GuideTests.php

Print my pdf files is no longer. After pressing PRINT the 'Print to File' window pops up and I have to press SAVE under to go to the next step. Once the pdf file is saved it is therefore more a pdf but a PRN file. An error message appears when I try to print the PRN file. I need to be able to print my original pdf files. Please notify.
Looks like you somehow accidentally active the option print to file in the Advanced Options print dialogue. Uncheck that and this problem should go away.

Break during the "save under" for the combined PDF binders - Acrobat Pro XI
Suddenly, Acrobat Pro XI crashes ONLY when "save under" for the bindings of combined file is executed.
Conditions
- Two or more files are combined together, sometimes Word or. Documents RTF, combined with PDFs
- When the workbook is created, I want ", but reduced."
- Crashing, happens once the images are being processed
- It started a few days previously worked without crashing, but there
- I can do a 'Save as reduced' for non-binder files
- I can do a 'Save as reduced' AFTER 'impression' linking it to a new PDF
- It is for all documents binding on the network or on my local machine
- It's for all the computers on the network, then this problem is the workbook files themselves
I took action:
- All the updates of Windows and Acrobat have been executed
- A reboot has finished several times
- All temporary files have been deleted
- Tried to uncheck "Save as optimizes for fast Web pages display", no change
- Tried to reduce 'documents in the recently used list' from 100 to 10, no change
This seems to be due to one or several pages in the documents linking themselves, I think of those with pictures on them. Once again, if I print the workbook as a new PDF and then do a 'Save as reduced' it works very well, to me I think that after the images we been reduced or pixelated when printed, it allows the "reduction of the size" to work because the images are more than "images"?
Any information is appreciated!
Reset preferred had no change.
Repair facility had no change.
I had specified it is happening with the "binder" documents are created by combining RTF files in a PDF file, then try to reduce.
I had already said that this is happening with all the computers on the network, which means that several users have tried, no difference between them.
Looks like that to happen is no longer with new documents, RTF files only 4-5 do this now instead of each of them. Just documents cannot be reduced after linking to PDF, Acrobat still crashes. However, we believe that it is just these 4-5 RTF files that might have some sort of image or text which cannot be rasterized. There are other RTF size files we can work that do a bind and can then be reduced in size.
We assume that these specific documents either have a certain level of corruption or something around those who don't like Acrobat.

InDesign CC - no shortcuts "don't save under ' avaiable
Hey there, I'm panicking...
This problem I had last week, then I reinstalled my whole system and first al was good.
now, since the last 48 hours the problem is still there, perhaps from installing from a software (?)
problem of who? I can't use "save under" via the shortcut SHIFT + CMD + S.
In the Menu onle the INDESIGN register flashes when I press on, but nothing happened.
I wrote already last week with support, but all the marks were unnecessary.
Fresh news 1: I tried other workspaces in indesign. There, the shortcut works - ONLY ONCE.
Fresh info 2: now, I tried to change the command of shortcut like him. then it works - ONLY ONCE.
PS in InDesign CS6 all the shortcuts work properly. I think that there is a big bug in CC.
anyone with the same problem? adobe support can help me...
sincerely from marco
Hell Yes, that's all. YOU'RE THE MAN. Thank you thank you thank you. so simple, so bad.
THE SOLUTION (for all and Adobe): the shortcut works, since I installed ClamX-AV.
This was seen in the Systempreferences / keyboard / shortcuts / "Dienste".
He ClamX-AV also use SHIFT + CMD + S to make it. CLEAR the check box.

Since last week my CS3 version is no longer will allow me to choose "save under" and change the name of the file work on, the button is shaded on. As soon as I choose a name of file already existing in the listed folder does the active button. I can't just change the name of the file appears already in the field. I think it is a virus, but the research is empty. Given that I have not upgraded or changed lately, I'm looking for someone who has this problem.

Removal of the Formats in the dialog box "save under".
I'll start by saying this is not much more than a minor annoyance, but is it possible to remove or hide formats in the dialog box "save under"?
In my case I really only use .png, .jpg and .psd. When you browse through the recording process several elements it slows me down to have to scroll through a list of things like the .pxr and .sct which I assume that the vast majority of users never use.
In the same sense, if I saved the last 20 things like .png, it would be nice if Photoshop fails in .png. Some word processing program takes assumptions like this a bit too far, but I'm all about smart features that save me time on the menial things.
You're not the first to ask this here, believe it or not. The answer is 'no, don't mess with it. "
Keep in mind that you can type the first letter of the type of file once you have activated the selector, which can help you gain access to a particular format. But yes, I agree it's a bit of a pain to work through the large list that is there.

Inserting a button "save under".
Hello
I would like to include a button "save under" at the end of my form. Don't know what javascript is for this. I created the button, I'm in the Script Editor and that you have selected "postSave", not sure what's next...
Thanks in advance for your answer.
Jenn
Yes... but the command is:
app.execMenuItem ("SaveAs")
and make sure you have set the JavaScript language (top right of the script editor).

How do I cancel a picture window after "save under" plugin format
After finishing writing the plugin format sequence, I need to force it to reread the file or read the file and determining the image in the window.
recorded image may be different from the source. How can I do?
I really appreciate any advice.
See you soon.
Ditto for GIFS and others (you get preview however option). I think that is the general modus operandi of Photoshop - like they key features of the file, such as layers, channels, etc. color mode can be kept by the destination format, you can "save under" the file but your document in memory will not be a real nice of your file on the disk until explicitly closed and re - open. I'm not sure that break this paradigm just for your specific format would be worth the effort.

Looking for script to change "save under" actions...
I worked on a way to avoid having to re-record 400 + save as actions. The nut shell, it's that I'm saving art game a master file. The master file has some commonality to other parts. So the actions turn on the appropriate layers, save then turn off these layers and repeat for all 400 + parts. This way when the changes make all parts, it's a simple operation to re-record. Create separate files 400 seemed like a way more heavy to go and have all the art in a single file makes more sense.
The problem that I am running is that I had to change hard drives often and this means that the locations "save under" actions are no longer available.
I tried every way I could think to create a workaround solution, but there is no answer that I've found so far. The batch will not work because all the 400 pieces come from a single file. I hope that script will allow me to treat at least "new folder" actions automatically. I want to put in the new location of the shares ' record under "should point and click on 'OK', they are new" save under "recorded actions.
Any thoughts? Maybe available scripts that do this thing? I'm wasting my time trying to get script to do this and who should just bite the bullet and spend 3 or 4 hours re-registration to save as actions whenever I want to save art to a new location?
But to answer your main question. Yes, the script needs both highlight functions and load the symbols at the bottom in order to run.

"Save under" freezes PS3 - what to do?
When wanting a Board contact or photomerge to bridge > tools > Photoshop > then contact sheet II or Photomerge, he opens the PS3 and automatically brings up the appropriate context menu and execute the commands - BUT after the end of the action and show me the result, I am unable to save the new file are in the menu or the buttons ' save under. : Ctrl + Shift + S. I see a Flash of pane that disappears, and then the PS3 freezes.
It worked normally... so I started a new Contact sheet, it started doing this and now continues with photomerge too.
I'm afraid I have to unload and reload the software, but I hope some of you can tell me an easier solution.
Ideas?
Looks like a dialog box is off screen.
Try typing space or Esc to cancel.
Then try to reset your preferences as described in the FAQ.
http://forums.Adobe.com/thread/375776?TSTART=0
You must physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if you use the Alt, Ctrl, and shift, don't forget you get a confirmation dialog box.
This resets all settings in Photoshop default.
