I think that you use to make your Time Machine backups. If Yes please look over the end Pondini troubleshooting Time Machine FAQS and began in the failures of backup section. The link to the site is: http://pondini.org/TM/Troubleshooting.html

    Dear users of Apple,

I updated my iphone 6 more yesterday with iOS 10. Phone works quite well. But I have my phone backup problems. I usually back up my phone with my iTunes Macbook (Via cable and sometimes on wifi). But after the update to iOS 10 it seems that I can't back up my phone more. I don't know the real cause of this problem.

    1. I am not able to save my iPhone via wifi data in iTunes. (Previously it was not the case).

    2. I tried to back up my phone using the cable also. Also, I pressed "Trust" this computer, but I get this error message. Please see below.

Also, I allowed my computer by disconnecting iTunes and logging back there. And yet I have the same issues.

"iTunes could not connect to the iPhone because an invalid response was received from the device."

Does anyone know what this answer is invalid can be?

  • Backup issues: error 0 x 80042308

I use the backup and Restore Center of Vista to automatically back up my files to an external hard drive.  He worked all night until last night.  That is to say "the specified object is not found (0 x 80042308).  How can I save?

Are there only registered at the same time in eventvwr VSS errors. The 80042308 error means VSS_E_OBJECT_NOT_FOUND. Try the following

    Check the following registry

    \Inp HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\ {FAF53CC4-BD73-4E36-83F1-2B23F46E513E}
    rocServer32

What is the display of the key eventcls.dll or es.dll?

Unregister and re-register components by running the following from the command prompt

    regsvr32 /u eventcls.dll
    regsvr32 /i eventcls.dll
    regsvr32 /u es.dll
    regsvr32 es.dll

Now try your backup again. I hope this helps.

  • reload backup issues

I bought a copy of Windows 7 with a bad product so key to make a long story short. I made a backup before loading Windows 7. I reloaded Vista Home premium 64-bit at the beginning to start again, but I'm having a problem charging backup set. I put the backup to a hard drive, if that helps. I'm getting some errors 1) is not read a backup on the computer 2) when I do a restore advanced from hard disk (all files restore) he repeats to me 'backup file is not found. Please help, I'm in Afghanistan with the very slow speed of the internet to download more programs in addition to all of the info that I will lose (MS Office 07, Itunes, Axara) thank you Jason

First of all, if you have Vista Home Premium you have not the possibility to use Vista to make a backup of the complete image of your system (unless you use some 3rd party sofware - If Yes, what is the name and version of the software), so that your programs have not been backed up and will need to be reinstalled.  It goes the same for your settings and configurations.  Your data must be secure, if you did a full backup - but that's all that was saved with the backup version that you have.

You may need to select restore from another computer (instead of from the hard disk) to get the backup files - it depends on how the hard drive is attached (it is internal or external) and how you made the backup.  You are at least able to locate the backup files?  Go to the drive where you put the backup and make sure that the backup is there and that it contains data.

This is the best article I know about backup and restore Vista: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/2007.09.backup.aspx.  Make sure you use the procedures in this article.

Here's another good article: http://netsecurity.about.com/od/secureyourwindowspc/ss/vistabackup.htm.  Note that you must click below to get more pages there is a certain.

Make sure that you are logged on as administrator and have sufficient rights (or even owner) do the process (both on the PC itself AND the backup folder).  Here are some tips on how to fix permissions if this is the problem:

    ==========================================================================================================

To view your permissions, right-click on the file/folder, click Properties, and check the Security tab.  Check the permissions you have by clicking on your user name (or group of users).  Here are the types of permissions, you may have: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/What-are-permissions.  You must be an administrator or owner to change the permissions (and sometimes, being an administrator or even an owner is not sufficient - there are ways to block access (even if a smart administrator knows these ways and can move them - but usually should not because they did not have access, usually for a very good reason).)  Here's how to change the permissions of folder under Vista: http://www.online-tech-tips.com/windows-vista/set-file-folder-permissions-vista/.  To add take and the issuance of right of permissions and ownership in the right click menu (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/05/21/take-and-grant-full-control-permissions-and-ownership-in-windows-7-or-vista-right-click-menu/.

To resolve this problem with folders, appropriating the files or the drive (as an administrator) and give you all the rights.  Right-click on the folder/drive, click Properties, click the Security tab and click on advanced and then click the owner tab.  Click on edit, and then click the name of the person you want to give to the property (you may need to add if it is not there--or maybe yourself). If you want that it applies to subfolders and files in this folder/drive, then check the box to replace the owner of subcontainers and objects, and click OK.  Back and now there is a new owner for files and folders/player who can change the required permissions.  You can change now switched to read-only (even if the main folder indicates that they are always read-only - you can access yourself as the owner).  You can keep them in read-only to other users, customers and administrators even (although they can support themselves and access, if they wish, and it is really not that you can do to stop it except protect the file with a password by using a 3rd party product.)  Here is more information on the ownership of a file or a folder: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67717-take-ownership-file.html.  To add take ownership in the menu of the right click (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/

  • Newbie Backup issues

Hi all! Recently, I used VMware Converter to clone 2 PDC Windows 2000 with the aging and equipment programs of proprietary database of 2 new 2003 servers running VMware Server 2. The conversion has been impeccable, vmware tools imitated everything needed to permanently keep the virtual machine, the areas are beautiful, and users have not yet noticed 1 hiccups! It has saved me MANY HOURS of trying to get all the software of Windows 2000 running on Windows 2003 server, so I am very happy!

Now, I was faced with the backup of my new virtual machines. I have a 1 to NAS I want to copy my virtual machines on every night. I found an article that showed me how prepare the Server 2003 and VMware to backup using VSS, but then he never told me how or what to back up my vm folders!

I read in this forum that all you have to do is to copy the entire folder that runs the virtual computer from a backup location.

    Firstly, is it that simple?

Secondly, should I be save indvidual files instead? If so, which? I have a created snapshot, I just save that?

Third, I read in the same discussion that the virtual machine must be off to save properly, how can I stop/restart the virtual machine without supervision (night).

Finally, is it TRUE freeware that can handle this? I see "solutions", but either they are part of a package of VMware are 3rd party software that is not free or is no longer available.

I apologize if I'm not phrasing or explain sufficiently in detail. I will be happy to clarify anything.

Thank you in advance for your help! I went through the discussions and I know I'll get a straight answer from the quality.

1 'cold' is used to indicate that the virtual machine is turned off.

2 I suggest you copy all the files. You can re-create the VM since the larget vmdk (+ the snapshot files), but if you save the 99.99% of the entire space, why not the other 0.01

    3. If you are using VMware Server: http://www.petri.co.il/virtual_script_startup_shutdown_vmware_servers.htm

.. .or at least that's where I am right now.  I finally managed to convince management to go virtual, so we picked up the Essentials Pack for the 50% price sweet.  Now, I need to study backups of our virtual machines running hot.  My head is spinning a bit because of all the info re: DR, VCB, backup, scripts, perl, etc.

  • ORACLE_HOME on best practice database backup issue

    Hello
The next question is about best practices.
I would like to know if the ORACLE_HOME on the physical database should have the same name
as the basis of primary data.
For example, if the primary database name is: / u01/app/oracle/prodcut/1120/PROD
According to best practices should also be: / u01/app/oracle/product/1120/PROD or it should be:
    / u01/app/oracle/product/1120/STDY?
    Thank you

    Yes.

Given what you just said I agree that is the way to do it. So when patch arrives, you should be less likely to make a mistake.

I probably create a 'home' of the decoder sheet and hung it near my desk.

I have windows vista. I did a system restore. I can restore PIX saved on the backups before recovery was made?

    Hi rich,

What kind of backup do you have?  If it were a full image backup, restoring them will be difficult unless you restore the entire image.  If it was a normal backup of files and folders, it should be fairly simple.

Here is an article on the restore procedure: http://www.vista4beginners.com/How-to-restore-files to make sure you do this right.  It's a selective restore of a full or selective backup (not a full restore from a full backup) - but since you did a full backup, it matches your process more closely than would a full restore.

This is a GREAT article on backup and restore Vista process

http://technet.Microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/2007.09.Backup.aspx , but he won't go into detail about the restoration process - considering almost as easy, of course.  But it teaches you a lot about what is possible and how to do it.   It also focuses primarily on the full backup process, but he did mention the full backup and restore process as well.

Here is an article on the advanced use of restoration (during normal restore does not work):
