My PC got corrupted last week and told me to do a reformat as a last resort. Before that, I saved all my data (especially my Word & Excel) for my external hard drive to the file 'My Document '. After that the reformatting was made, I downloaded all required applications and try to remove my Excel file, which has the external hard drive, but the data were NOT the updated file, but the file that has been saved 3 months ago!

  So, how can I recover my file up to date which was recorded August 12, 2014, supposedly on my external hard drive, or could it be hidden somewhere in the "C drive"?

  I have a digital TV with many ports Inc. USB, VGA, HDMI etc.

  I am downloading movies and burn them on dvd, but it's very tedious, so I wonder if I connect the laptop to the tv to use the TV as a monitor screen? so, I can either watch the dvd on the tv, and gold to direct flows to the laptop and then on television.

  My laptop is a Satellite L300 PSLB8A 047004. I bought a kit of 2 x 2 GB modules and inserted carefully following the instructions (they clicked in place). When the computer reboots, the power light comes on, the fan was on but no other activity and the screen stayed black, no drive activity. Initially, there was 1-off 1 GB PC2 - 6400S installed module, and I checked the news is PC2 - 6400S. I took and put back in but same result. When I put the original module in it worked fine.

  Then I tried one of the new modules instead of lucky one but not original so the original module is now back in and everything seems OK.
  Any suggestions please? If there is damage of module to be managed, then the original 1 GB module should also be damaged, because this is one that s been managed at best.
