Backup of the WSA * and restore *.

Hello

I'm trying to understand how we should maintain regular backups of a request for ASO and restore in case of data loss/server failure, etc..

I read the Database Administrator Guide that says "to save and restore global storage applications, you must use manual procedures."

In looking at Backup and Recovery Guide we explained that a backup of ASO method to stop the application and copy the relevant application files. It lists under "to back up a database of global storage:" but there is no corresponding section "restore."

So - not - where can I find explanation of how restore a backup of ASO taken this way. For example, if I 'accidentally' delete the application and then try to copy the saved folder app back to where it was, EAS does not list the application even after refreshing the list of applications.

What very obvious step I'm missing?

I know I could do various export of data and recreate the DBs by MaxL and applications, but this seems a very random way of doing things. There are on Oracle RMAN, TimesTen it y ttBackup/ttRestore - what is the 'good' way to backup and restore on ASO?

Thank you, Robin.

There are two ways to do

1. to restore the backup, the application and the database of EAS, stop the application or restore it

2. restore the files to the correct location, and then of EAS make a creation of the application and it must acknowledge your application

Note that if you remove the application, then restore, you will lose the security associated with the application and will have to rebuild.
