Backup tab groups

IMHO, it must apply a method for backup tab groups .

You can make a backup copy of the sessionstore.js in the profile folder.

This file stores the session data that includes the App tabs and tab groups.

I take a class to work... one weekend per month for 8 months.  I have 6 documents each of about 1100 pages, ranging from 10 MB to 80 MB.  Rather than having to rummage through my hard drive to search for every file every time that I reboot I would open adobe and have each of the 6 documents open up there where I did the last time I was a student.  There is a setting to return to the last page visited in each file... but what about re - open the last tab group? If I'm not explaining well, all major internet browsers have the characteristic to reopen the tabs that were open to the file close... For example, when I open IE, Firefox or Chrome, a tab open for my Google, Linkedin, Gmail, Facebook. That is to say even has a backup feature group tab as a bookmark (I've not looked for this feature in Firefox or Chrome). Is this something that will happen to the Adobe Reader?  Alternatively, you can save the grouping tab in a file...  I would rather not overwrite all the documents in a file mondo.

I looked in the forum, but could not cut my search terms to find a productive application.

    Hi Scott,.

Thank you to explain your concern but for now the feature you're looking for is not available. You can fill out our feature request/Bug report form

    Thank you

  • all of the tabs displayed in each tab group

For no reason, my tabs together (not sure which add-on I actually use to group my tabs) continued to show only the tabs I placed in groups when I clicked on a group. Instead, all my tabs appear in each group. It makes no sense, it defeats the purpose to group tabs in the first place. I don't know why it does this, and it's confusing and frustrating to use.

For clarity, here's an example: I go to the overall tab that I've marked "personal". It contains two personal tabs that I placed there as well as all the tabs in the last tab group that I was right.

I've spent the last hour as follows:
-Read about groups of tabs by Googling the subject, taken repeatedly for the same basic description of the groups tab add-on.
Googling - my question to repeatedly find the same general forum q & a which does not answer the question, I'll have.

PLEASE DON'T ANSWER THAT AFTER READING MY WHOLE QUESTION AND IF YOU ARE ABLE TO ADDRESS THE SPECIFIC ISSUE I FEEL.

    Thank you!

Try to delete the sessionstore.js file in the profile of Firefox, as well as the backups folder in the sessionstore-backups folder.

Delete sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and groups of tabs open and closed tabs (back) to get lost and you will have to re-create them (take note or bookmarks if possible).

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:

    • Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: see file (Linux: open the directory;) Mac: View in the Finder)
  • TAB GROUPS die after closing the window, restoration of session does not apply and neither is history! I do not think that I have been warned!

On leaving firefox, update, then restart, I lost the ability to restore sessions. I restored the Group of tabs in the past; It's different. My tab groups are lost forever and I don't remember even be warned about losing when the window is closed (as often happens and then I avoid close it.)

I sync my tab groups, but she must have sync'd their disappearance because I lost. Tab groups really should have always been separate from the window (as a form of records) - I don't know why I found myself never adopt this powerful feature knowing how bad it has been supported. I had actually named groupings with 2dont reading lists etc... the year value of groups... and I shared it between devices...

In fact, I watched the sessionstore.js file, it seemed ok - I do javascript professionally. I think I can close this because there seems to be a lack of functionality/design of browser that we can solve a problem. my other computer did the same thing with clamping my tab groups and the closure of the window... it's a "feature" not a bug. I thought that maybe someone knew something that I do not have as to why this is so wrong.

I'll just have to live with attention restore or restore backups the sessionstore.js if for some reason, he gets lost. Including me accidentally close the window and press on enter without thinking (Yes, I get that I can restore; but the problem is that I wouldn't restore groups of tabs because they are so easily killed in multiple ways.)

  • where right-click send to the tab group went

It was possible to do a right-click on a tab and chose to pass on to one of my tab groups. Where is this feature? He'll be back?

Here's the default shortcuts, it doesn't look like she changed this version

  • Need to display the name of the tab group, while the group is open

I have a lot of groups. When a group is opened, I would like to see the name of this group without clicking on the icons in groups

Hello, you could try an addon like this:

  • How can I make my permanent tab groups?

I recently started using groups of tabs, and they are always there when I need, even if I restart Firefox or my computer, but I ran CCleaner yesterday and now the groups have all disappeared. Is there a way to prevent this?

Pins (App) tabs and tab groups are stored in the file sessionstore.js in the date of the session, so you should have at least exclude the Sessions.
It is always best to use integrated ways to clean your data and external programs not to avoid corruption of files in the Firefox profile folder.
Future versions of Firefox can use different files to store data or a different pattern that can easily get damaged.

  • Have different tabs pinned on different tab groups

Is there a way to keep different pin tabs of different tab groups?

    Thank you.

If they appear in different groups, but the tabs pinned, despite what group they are pinned in are visible in all groups.

  • FF29.0 crashes when loading loading with tab groups, very well without tab groups. WHY?

I have approximately 16-18 groups of tabs (at least, I did it in FF28.0). When the update FF29.0, FF crashed EVERY time when trying to load. Finally, I did a fresh reinstall of FF29.0. After you have reinstalled my 18 modules, I ran the Session Manager and loaded a session from before I had updated to 29,0. He had all my groups of tabs! WOW, it load. Well, it loaded only ONCE. He never asked again. Crashes every time. I saved sessionstore.bak and sessonstore.js at different times. I copied an of before the crashes and FF29.0 works very well. It does everything just not with all of my tab groups. Crashes every time during loading. If it does not work with my registered tab groups, I'll be forced to return to FF28.0. Would not progress.

    I SOLVED THE PROBLEM!
Turns out to be the the traffic light (BTL) Bitdefender module. Well, any.
BTL verifies each NEW site against a master list of 'bad' sites. Does ONCE for each NEW site, you're going to. apparently, it holds a register that there is no need to double-check sites, he already deleted. I have about 160 Web sites registered in 16 groups of tabs. In Firefox 28.0, these sites have been deforested when I visited them. When I try to move to 29,0 FF, BTL tent now re - CHECK all 160 sites! What happens while FF 29,0 installs and has just overwhelm the program installation or my computer to make the installation crashes! During installation, I noticed my CPU monitor 4 cores would be twittering about 30-40% along the CPU usage when all of a sudden all 4 cores would hit 100%. This will continue until the installation would break (after about 10-15 seconds).
So, I finally tried a relocation that would lose all my Add-ons, but keep my tabs, bookmarks and tab groups. With NO Add-ons installed, 29.0 FF was fine and all my tabs and groups of tabs were still there. The first add-on I installed was BTL. She appeared to open a new tab telling me that the site Web of EACH tab (all 160) was OK. So, he opened more than 160 tabs to say that every site tabs was clean! It took a while. (But not as long as it took to close!) So, after the closure of all 160 tabs, I restart 29,0 FF and NOT of PROBLEMS! Opens right and I still have access to all of my tab groups. After 3 hours, I managed to install all the ons Add-21 I had before. YES!
The short answer, I suppose, is simply uninstall BTL FF 28.0 to 29,0 pre-upgrade. Then install BTL and wait until it finishes its controls to close all tabs. Hope this helps someone.

  • How can I get the tabs group names appear above the tabs?

At some point the names of all of my tab groups appeared above the tabs. In other words, there is a horizontal list of open tabs on each page. Above that there was a similar list of horizontal search all groups tabs. This horizontal list of tab groups is now missing.
This has been useful to reorganize and re-classification of the tabs into different groups because I could see the entire page for any given tab and could move the tab to another tab group simply by clicking on the tab and dragging to any group in the section tab above the tabs section groups. It's usually easier than reorganization of the tabs on the tab page groups (accessed by clicking on "Your group tabs" icon top right of the screen).
I don't know how this feature got there or why he went, but I liked it.
How can I get that back?

I agree. It is a very impressive device available through an add-on that is no longer supported. It would be really useful for me tab groups.

  • How to save the pages that I open in a single window as a tab group?

In Internet Explorer, I am able to "Add current tabs to Favorites" for all my pages are saved as a tab group. How do I do this in Firefox?

    Hello

You can try to right click on a tab and a bookmark all tabs.

  • All of a sudden my tab groups do not work with 16.0.1. That's happened?

Before installing the 16.0.1 updated, I had a specific tab group open, among several that I maintain for different projects. (I could pass freely between tab groups in 15 FF.) After installation, the tab group button does not open the Panorama view when you click the menu drop down beside him command moves the view to Panorama or the keyboard shortcut works. I restarted FF twice, that does nothing to solve the problem.

    Thanks for your replies!

    @bobsmithofd, I use FF16.0.1 on Mac OS 10.8.2.
@Cairngorm, not sure, but I think that my view may have worked at first, when I opened at the beginning of the new version, but when I needed it, I couldn't not to him. Later, the Group of visible tabs changed without my having knowingly do anything to get him to change.

I ended up creating a new browser window, and then experimentally all my tabs slide manually into the new window of the tab bar tab bar is visible to the old window. I then clicked the view tab button in the new window, and he showed panorama. In the old window was another group of tabs in the tab bar, then I dragged those above, for example, to create a new group in the new window, that I named identically. I repeated for a few hours until the disappearance of the old window. The new works very well.

  • Cannot close tab groups. Close button fails even with an empty window.

When I create groups of tabs, I can't close. The red X close tab group button does not work. I can resize, add or remove sites, or even remove all sites. But I can't get the button close the tab of the function group.

Thanks for the tips. I traced the problem to theme Noia 4 v 1.6.7. I don't know how to advise developer or where else to post this information. But in any case, I will delete it.

  • In FF 7.0.1 the new tab on the band on tabs disappeared after clicking on the icon of the tab group button and try to return, I'm looking for advice on how to get the new tab to reappear on the Strip to tabs.

In Windows Vista, FF 7.0.1 I've selected the button tab group to try out it. However, when I chose the button group of tabs to close this point of view, the button tab in the strip of the tab no longer appears. I'm a request for assistance to restore the button new tab (the sign '+' on the subject) on the tabs to the right of the tabs open tape.

You can find the button new tab showing as a '+' on the tab bar.

You can open the window customize and drag the button new tab that indicates that a sign plus bar tabs on another toolbar and it will become a regular tools like the new button bar button tab you have in versions of Firefox 3.

Open the Customize via "view > toolbars > customize" or "Firefox > Options > toolbars."

If you can not find the new button tab then click the button 'Restore Default Set' in the window customize.

If you would like the button tab at the right end of the tab bar, then place a flexible space to the left of it.

  • When I created groups of tabs, should I ALWAYS close by going to Firefox and press quit? Otherwise, I lose my tab groups.

I did experiments with groups of tabs and usually when I leave Firefox I'm going on the red circle on the upper left side of my screen and it closes. However, when I do that I lose my tab groups. I need to know how to leave Firefox and NOT lose my tab groups?

If you click this button, and then you close only the current window, but the Firefox application is still running.

If you have done this then reopen this window closed with App tabs and tab groups via ' history > recently closed Windows "and use Firefox > Quit to close the Firefox application with all the windows open.

It is the only way to preserve the App Tabs and groups of tabs on Mac.
