  I created my own guest only (vmnet0) network without DHCP (192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0). I run several linux guests in this network. One of them, that I call the "headnode", assigns a static IP 192.168.1.1 and runs a DHCP server. The other guests, now referred to as "nodes", use DHCP to obtain their IP addresses of the headnode. During the process of starting the backend nodes, they communicate correctly with the DHCP server on the headnode and receive an IP address. After their NIC is however in place, the main nodes cannot exceed the headnode. A ping from a backend node is unable to reach the headnode. If I ping a backend of the headnode else node hand, it takes about 6 ping probes before the ping starts to work and after that, I can also ping the headnode leave this backend node. It seems that my network setup, i.e. firewall, routing, etc., in the guest linux is correct, but that the vmnet0 switch is not working properly. Is this a known issue with a guest only network?

  I'm not sure on a Linux host, but on Windows the XXX1 IP address is assigned to the virtual host adapter, if this option is checked! You may have a problem with an IP address in this case duplicate. Also, make sure that the IP address range does not correspond to the physical network.

  Anyway, as mentioned by continuum, you can't redefine vmnet0 (filled by default), but use instead an additional vmnet for a virtual network additional.

  I suggest you contact the store local tech or the manufacturer of the system to help with recovery of data from the hard drive.

  After that host on vSHere 4.0 strightly connected to iSCSI (initiator) host cannot ping the server iSCSI (target), but target can.  And iSCSI works well. I mean I can create and use the iSCSI disk, why? It makes me confused.

  iSCSI traffic uses a VMkernel port, instead of using the command 'ping', use 'vmkping '.

  My simple vpn client can accumulate the tunnel vpn with my Office ASA5510 success and my vpn client can ping the internal server. But my internal server cannot ping the remote vpn client. Even the firewall vpn client windows is disable.

  2 internal server cannot ping vpn client.

  3 Vpn client can ping the internal server.

  Why interal Server ping vpn client? ASA only does support vpn in direction to go?

  I'm not sure that this is a vmware workstation or server 2012 r2 problem, but I would still ask thought.

  I have a 2012 r2 vm server and win 7 vm in a ' host-only: a private network, shared with the host country "network connection.

  I can ping the server vm win7, but cannot ping the ""Server the VM win7 ". "

  But when I point the win7 dns on the server 2012R2 (that has AD and DNS configured) I can join the virtual machine Windows 7 announcement.

  Its totally weird

  Whenever I try to win7 from the ping server, it says "Request Timed Out".

  Does anyone know how can I fix?

• Cannot ping my esx Server

  Hi all

  I hope you can help, this problem has been driving me crazy for some Richard now!

  Firstly a bit of history... We have a Compaq ML760 running esx 3.0.1 attached to 2 SCSI disk bays. On weekends, this system was powered down by our partners to outsource in replacement of the ups in the rack. When turning the power on it we lost communication with the inverter boards... a new case, few new readers and reconstruction of the RAID the latter we have an ESX that starts in the log on screen with no obvious errors.

  So, the problem is that since we cannot ping or connect to any other way of our ESX Server. Now, before that I have to go any further in my opinion, it is worth noting that I'm not an expert of linux/esx I know enough to login as root and run a few commands.

  I have read several discussions around this issue and none seem to apply to my situation. Not only did I not ping my ESX, when I log into the ESX I can't ping any device, even the entry door. I had a quick glance at the configuration (should not have changed during the upgrade of the UPS!) and everything looks ok to me, feel free to correct me, the info is here:! esxcfg-NICS.   Adam - I had a very similar problem in my test once environment. Everything was going well, all settings have been properly etc... but no connectivity ntwk. I had to remove my network config and rebuild. You can try just a little at a time to see if it works. Try to create a new vSwitch, move your top Service Console and assign a network adapter with the appropriate vlan information. See if it works then. That should give you an idea if there is a kind of corruption with the current configuration of ntwk.

  My school requires a log-in for which you have to go to in order to access the wifi. So first you log through settings, then you go to safari and search for a random page, and then the window should appear. However whenever I try to do, I still get the same message:

  In your Safari menu bar, click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab, then click: delete all data Web site

  I just downloaded bios update of the toshiba site for portage r600 for my model number (bios update 1.80 - winner), I unzip the zip, run the exe, but error popup came:

  So my question is what am I doing wrong? I'm trying to update my bios from windows.

  You cannot update the BIOS by using the windows server 2008 Enterprise Edition x 64

  You will need to put the system which has been pre-installed by Toshiba
