Backup USB on OS 6.2.4 Ultra6 failure

  • To a specific USB port USB backup fails with "Backup: backup error '': destination are not available."

  • USB ports listed in the drop-down list in the backup configuration include "USB back Top" and "Low rear USB" while the Ultra6 has left rear USB ports and rear right of USB in the back

  • The USB device has iterrated of USB_HDD_1 through USB_HDD_3 (denial of the backup on the part of the USB solution)

Logs show that the device is connected to:

A someone has encountered this problem and solved? I have plugged in the left return postage and a connected ups on the rear port straight to 4. Nothing is plugged into the port on the front. I have not traded or tested other ports yet but do this weekend.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For the Ultra 6 port mapping has been added to a future firmware version, but I can not provide ETA right now.

Product name: HP Envy CL 4-1043 Ultrabook.

    Product number: B5T09UA #ABA

Installed OS: Windows 7 Home Pemium 64-bit installed.

    History of the issues:

1 32 GB SSD failed after 3 months. Sent to the HP service center to get it replaced.

2 HP replaced my 500 GB HDD too. I have a set of previously created on my USB recovery image.

3 restored my Ultrabook OS & Software mode factory default using my USB recovery image.

    4. the Ultrabook was recovered in factory default mode, that is to say all OS and software factory is now in the "C:" partition

5 everything seems to work fine, except that my 32 GB SSD now appears as "D:" without files inside the drive.

    Now the complaint:

    1. the 32 GB SSD was initially supposed to act as a cache device, allowing to the "moment - we ', caching bed and written to speed up my HARD drive performance. It was not visible to the user before.

    2. now, the 32 GB appears as a normal drive "D:". There seems to be no activity of caching at all.

    3. performance of the disk operations is now much slower than before.

    4. power of loan is now 1 minute 15 seconds. (It has been dry 9 only)

I suspect that the caching software does not work after the recovery of the image. How can I reactivate the feature caching using the SSD of 32 GB?

It turns out that when I retrieve the ultrabook by using the backup image stored on the USB drive, the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver is disabled by default. When the HP service centre replaced the SSD, they reformatted to an NTFS partition. So with disabled fast pilot Intel Storage Technology, the DSS appeared to be another drive.

I solved the problem by reactivating the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver manually. The SSD data has been deleted and hidden from view. Everything is working as it was originally intended to be now.

  • Factory default backup (USB Noo - Noo of?)

Quick question, I created a backup of USB factory default and it has become corrupted somehow and I have a small question.

When you create a key recovery USB with a 32 GB USB Flash drive, will be corrupted recovery if I put additional files on the USB with USB recovery information?

In other words, if the USB drive is 32 GB and the recovery is 16 GB, I never will be able to use the extra 16 GB which is free for storage?

It is recommended not to use the additional free space on the USB recovery media. You can format it USB and create support of USB recovery again. You also have the possibility to buy recovery USB support for your computer from the Acer store.

  • 700 - 147C envy: cannot change bios to boot from backup USB Acronis. Startup command problem

I tried to boot from my USB Acronis boot device to clone my C: drive to another HARD drive, but I was unable to set the boot order (first USB) because it keeps resetting & put the USB back where it was before.  I've done this before without problem; I wanted to boot from an external USB Acronis rescue disk & run the procedure to clone of it. The USB is listed in the startup as list "Sandisk Cruzer 1.27 & it's the ISO boot Acronis on this file but I failed to get the pc to boot from it.» (not this time in any case). After a needless frustration 3 hours I ran successfully clone of C: drive procedure.  I checked the clone by disconnecting the source & boot from it, but it works "BOOT PXE ON IPV4 followed by PXE BOOT ON IPV6 before it starts the clone. The startup disk is listed before the lines of IPV in the bios then why what is happening?  I disabled the 2 procedures of IPV with F5 & now it starts normally, but I do not consider this problem solved, because I have not yet able to boot from USB & I don't know why I had to disable these 2 lines.

Addendum: I revisited the right bios & reactivated 2 disabled lines & it is now booting properly, no nonsense IPV. Go figure.

    Help!

I've seen similar problems before.  I solved me my clearing the CMOS and then start with only a UEFI (the main HD) compatible device. After that the problem had gone away, I reconnected it and then my other active UEFI device.

  • My recently installed backup USB WD drive is a show in my computer. What can I do to make it appear?

I have a Dell D830 running Vista Ultimate.

Try to connect to another computer. If it does not, the cable or the hard disk enclosure can be bad. Try using another cable first.

If it shows very well: go to Device Manager, expand Universal Serial Bus controllers, search for your device, do a right click and uninstall, then restart, it needs to be reinstalled.

If that doesn't work, uninstall everything under USB controllers, then restart your computer.

  • Rescue and recovery lists no backup on USB Iomega eGO drive

    Hello

I have been using an Iomega eGO external backups USB drive.

I was able to identify and remove (if necessary) backups in Windows 7 and rescue & recovery running, but I can't get the list of backups at the start of a recovery in rescue & recovery DVD.

Basically I replaces unencrypted with a SSD hard drive that supports encryption.

The goal was to use a full backup immediately before removing the HARD drive to restore the complete system.

At the start of the recovery DVDs, recovery utility & rescue lists not all backups, even when the check box for the list of backups on other systems is checked.

It makes no difference if the selection of THE places or USB external drive.

    Any ideas?

Backups are not much good if you can't get back them.

If my old drive did not then I would be in a worse state than this. I can't say I'm impressed.

Well, I've finally sorted this issue.

I tried to create a new recovery disk.

I even tried the recovery time in Windows and see what backups it detected. Yet once, I drew a blank.

    The question was this:

On my W510 at least, none of the USB3.0 ports are recognized by Lenovo rescue and recovery software when you select the USB storage device. Once connected to a single USB 2.0 port the USB eGo has been recognized and listed backups.

Unfortunately, this means a minimum of 6 hours to restore from a full backup!

Since I've upgraded to Mac OS Sierra, cannot use my local backup USB. Time Machine is stuck with the message "preparing backup" - more than 12 hours - for network devices, an Apple FileVault and another NAS device. Works very well with the local USB drive.

Something funny underway with network devices such that she works for the drives the.

Hope Apple take note and fix.

I have the same problem. I found this,

macOS, problems of the Sierra: Time Machine backup Mac

Time Machine problems prevented the Mac owners of their devices to backup since the upgrade to Mac OS Sierra, and the problem is widespread enough that Apple has published a guide on what to do if you can't back up:

    Discount for the iMac SMC

    1. turn off the device

    2. unplug the power cord from the monitor

    3. wait 60 seconds

    4 reconnect the power cord

    5. DON'T TURN ON DEVICE

    Reset the PRAM

    1. the computer must always be switched off.

    2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: command, Option, P, and r. you need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.

    3. press and release the power button to turn on the computer.

    4. press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You have to press these keys before the gray screen appears. Continue to hold the keys down until the computer is restarted, and you hear the tone of starting for the 3rd time.

    5. release the keys.

You can then try to save again. If this does not work, try to disable indexing on the drive you want to back up.

but I'm not sure it's the same question. I'll try it and report.

  • NETGEAR N300 Wi - Fi DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem Router (C3000) sees the backup HD Seagate but don't transfer

V1.01.11 firmware, OS is Windows 10

I bought the cable Modem Wifi Netgear N300. Except for the external hard drive Seagate (backup Seagate more 5 TB desktop external hard drive with 200 GB of Cloud Storage & Mobile Device backup USB 3.0 (STDT5000100)), all my devices connect to it without problem. However:

1.) when I have the hood upwards the Seagate external hard drive, the genius of Netgear he sees, but says that the drive has 0 bytes available.

(2.) that's why I can't back up by using the backup program WIndows 10 but

(3.) I can "manually" drag files from my PC to the Seagate HD (the PC is connected to the modem router cable via wifi.)

4.) when I connect the Seagate HD with a USB cable to the computer, the backup works.

It's frustrating because I want to use the Seagate HD as a backup for some of my devices and I want the devices to send their data or the Netgear router.

Can someone help me? It seems important that Netgear genius sees the HD Seagate but think it has no place.

  • Ultrabook HP 4 t-1100 - hard drives defective - No. DVD player - made HP sells recovery USB flash drives?

    Hello

I am repairing a laptop HP Touchsmart Ultrabook 4 t-1100 for a friend. The pc wouldn't start. BSOD, would try to repair itself, then BSOD again. I ran the hard drive from the bios test. He said that the hard drive has failed. I bought a new drive hard Western Digital 7mm Blue, replaced the wrong drive, has passed the test to drive hard and then asked my friend if she had the Windows 8 recovery disc or a flash supplied with the computer player.

Apparently, the recovery discs are not included with Ultrabooks, nor are a recovery flash drive. Being that this computer has been for a schoolgirl teenager, given to him by his mother of the computer-illiterate, nor had the foresight to do a restore of backup USB flash drive. All Ultrabooks do not have a reader of CD/DVD/BLU, so a USB recovery "disk" is necessary.

I don't have another computer to Windows 8 lying autour to make a USB recovery. Some people sell images of USB recovery on eBay, but they don't seem very good reputation.

And apparently they do not put the product key of Windows 8 on the bottom of portable computers more either! HP offers to sell a "recovery disc" through their section of the support of their website, but it is obviously not a DVD player to put it in.

Here's my quandry: If I buy the "recovery disk" HP, they will send me a DVD or a USB FlashDrive with a system image on it? And if they send me DVD, I'll be able to put it in a computer Windows 7 and make a bootable system image that then I could put it on a USB key? Then, Windows will automatically find the product key?

I have to admit that I made a mistake somehow.  After reviewing the specifications of your computer again, it seems there are 2: USB 2.0 on the side of the computer and 4 ports: USB 2.0 to the rear ports.

I shopped an option that might work for you.  I contacted StarTech to see if they had any ideas.  This is the only option they could offer:

    http://www.StarTech.com/cards-adapters/USB-3.0/cards/2-port-mini-PCI-Express-USB-3-adapter-card-with-bracket-Kit~MPEXUSB3S22B

It's a long shot, but if the cable can be routed off the case someway, it could possibly work.  You can communicate with them with to get help.
