Bad language in Windows Media Player

I've been ripping both CD to windows media player library, but the titles of the CD displayed in Chinese characters when they should be in English.  Some time ago I ripped the CD but I have not had this problem before. How can I display in English?

Hello

1. did you normally before cd Ripper?
2. what version of Windows is installed on the computer?
3. you remember to make changes to the computer before the question?

See the methods mentioned below and check if that helps.

Method 1:
I suggest you run the troubleshooting Windows Media Player Settings Troubleshooter and check.

I also suggest you go through the steps mentioned in the link and the Coachman.

Method 3:

If the problem occurred recently, try to restore the computer to an earlier point before this question and check.

Note: When you perform the system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

  • Windows media player will not install due to incompatibility of the language.

I have windows XP sp3 and when I tried to update my Windows Media Player (WMP), I first installed the wrong language. So I downloaded the English version which indicated to me, due to a mismatch of language, uninstall current WMP to procceed. so I used the utility to Add and Remove program but WMP is to love not the case, so I check in Add / Remove windows components and Windows Media Player. After a reboot, I tried to install WMP and he always says the same thing. What should I do?

It's OK now. I had to reinstall Windows XP because I got a serious driver problem that is not related to the problem. Also, I just had to be very careful it have the right Installer. Thanks anyway.

  • Windows media player 12 music renamed badly.

Simple question, WMP12 has renamed some of my music files, fair enough, however, he has renamed many of them bad, i.e. There is a track of Freestylers called Painkiller, WMP has decided that it is indeed by Judas Priest and, rather annoying, renamed accordingly.

the response simple is just change it back to what it was before, however, I have 1000 songs on my pc (I do a lot of dj - ing), many of which I don't know or have not played yet, so I don't know what were their original titles.

so is it possible to restore the files to their previous/original names? Yes, I tried the "previous versions" property tab?

While either rip a CD or if you right-click on the file and choose Find Album Info, will give you the option to search for the correct album / song information.
Items already in the library, you will need to right click and select Find Album Info.

If what you want is not listed, you must manually update the information.

  • Cannot rip CDs on windows media player show the title and tracks cd in another language

I have inserted a cd to RIP on Windows Media Player, but when inserting the issue of warrant and securities CDs in another language? Why is this and how I would go about fixing this problem?

    Hello

If you click the cd icon in wmp and select find album info"in the drop-down list box, it should implement the alternative versions (if it is a widely available drive) or you should be able to narrow down the search yourself.

If this does not work - come back and give us a little more information.

    Hello

Flash Player and Windows Media Player are not interchangeable.

Like many things on the web, the Flash Player local storage can be put to bad use. This does not necessarily mean the Flash Player without scruples or bad product - it's the sites Web/people who abuse of this (depending on your point of view).

You can configure Flash Player to block local storage on your computer. This does not necessarily all the features of Flash Player - for example with my set of Flash Player to block local storage I can still see videos on YouTube.

The controls for the Flash Player local storage can be found here: *

    Start-> Control Panel-> Flash Player (32-bit) (Tab instorage )

There is a good explanation of privacy and local storage of Flash Player here:

  • Windows Media Player will only play a sound with no video .avi and .mov

I started having a problem where the Windows Media Player will only play the audio portion of my .avi and .mov video files.

These files were created by my FlipCam or my Sony Handycam.

I never had problems until recently and think that it is due to some kind of Windows Update.

Both my computer and my wife's computer had the same problem and we are both using Windows XP Home Edition.

I apologize if this topic already on this forum.

Thanks for any help and advice.

    CoDec = compressor decompressor.
A program is used to compress the file. You then need to unpack the file to play, you need the codec used to compress the file to decompress it on your pc.
You need DVD playing software installed to power the mpeg codec, or you can buy a codec to just run in media player.
AVI is a wrapper and may well contain more than 800 different file types, it has 800 different codecs!  Thus, to read an avi file, you should know what codec was used to do and have that installed on your pc to read.
DV.avi is made with the dv codec, divx.avi is made with the divx codec.
Of course, that manufacturers make their codecs, you must make sure you have the latest being, to be able to read files made with it, so everything just because you downloaded the codec divx 12 months ago does not mean it will play files created with codecs of today!

I hope this explains it is ok for you.

It surprises me that you say that you have downloaded all the updates of altest, but are still running wmp9, where we are now on WMP11 for XP and 12 for win7.

I would update my WMP version first.

Here is a page that will tell you that the codecs are on your pc and who has access to WMP 11.
    http://www.myvideoproblems.com/tutorials/HowToFindCodecs.html

Here is a page that will tell you how to know what codec was used to create the file that you are trying to watch and also if you have the right codec for it
    http://www.myvideoproblems.com/tutorials/AVIcodec.html

It is generally accepted that the codec packs adding is a bad idea, so if you need a codec to read a certain file, google it's manufacturer and just install the one you need.

I would work just on the pc at the same time when you found what the problem is, you can fix on the other 2.

Need more help with this, just ask.
