If I have event viewer saying that "the device, \Device\CdRom0, has a bad block" error Event ID 7, this drive will not format a new CD - R disc, although it used to, I'm running Windows 7, no visible filters in Regedit, (although I deleted the drivers and rebooted), System Restore is no longer an option. However, DVD - RW works fine otherwise. What I try next? And that's probably unrelated, but the general kernel of error event ID 5 is the other thing; "I got a Userid on it and more accurate XML details view on it = 'FinalStatus' > 0x8000002a ExtraString' >------? \C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS corrupt and recovered - some data could be lost "ExtraStringLength"> 41 Guid ="{A68CA8B7-004F-D7B6-A698-07E2DE0F1F5D}?"

Speed stop?
Unexpected/unpredictable and quick stops are generally caused by overheating or bad RAM modules. This happens too fast to create an entry in the newspapers. Try downloading / running the freeware 'CoreTemp'. It will show you how hot your CPU is getting and how close to maximum temperature, it is. If this is your problem, open your folder and check your fans to make sure they turn all. Use a can of compressed air to remove dust, because it can act like a blanket and heat your components.
To solve your problem of bad block, run "Chkdsk" with the 'repair' or ' / R ' option. This should clean up your bad block problem.

I receive thousands of billions of these error messages in the event viewer. My CD player broke and he was writer b replaced a regular CD; It can also play DVDs that fine for now. Hello
In most cases, this error is displayed if the CD, DVD or Blu Ray, who is currently in your drive has a bad sector block.
Method 1: Insert the new CD drive, remove the drive defective media from your drive.
Method 2: You can also try following the steps from the link.

Recently, I got the error "device harddisk0 has a bad block" in Event Viewer and this has happened two times at the same time. I looked at and most people say that I do not understand is that I had this error before on another computer and the hard drive still works fine, but it is the failure of hard drive and it was many years ago that there are errors of disk on that computer. Is it possible that this means not always that hard drive is a failure? Thank you
Blocks will bad for various reasons from head crashes to interruptions of current momentary when writing. A few blocks will wrong here there is no major cause for concern, but if you start to get multiple occurrences then you should start thinking about replacing drive... and certainly to keep your current backups. The only thing you should do when you start getting bad blocks must be running a full disk check (chkdsk with the option/r or f). It detects bad blocks and formally to mark these blocks as being 'wrong' for the operating system do not. It should also avoid getting several warnings for the same bad block bad block.

How do I unlock "the disc has a bad block"?
"My computer information" error log has about 200 "legacy - disc - has a bad block."
I did Defrag, disk cleanup and eraced of things that I don't use much
I think that the block of 'bad' is interfering with "Outlook Express" also
Select Start, run, type cmd and press ENTER. Type "chkdsk c: /f /r" without the quotes and press ENTER. Make sure you include the spaces indicated. Enter Y when asked if you want to run chkdsk on restart the computer. Quit and then restart the computer.
Marking bad sectors on a hard disk takes time so be patient. Delimiting does not repair a defective sector. He places pointers to the reader by saying the system not to read or write to these areas that have been damaged.
If the number of defective sectors continued to increase after using the procedure above several times, then you should replace the disk. If an important system file is written to a bad sector, you can corrupt the registry hives and lose the entire contents of the disc.
However if have run chkdsk you not see more new bad sectors, then the reader can work for you for years.

Hi, I downloaded and installed the Web Platform Installer 2.0 on Vista Ultimate edition. -All of the walkthroughs I've read on this subject are different from the Installer (which is mentioned for Windows 7).
I installed PHP within the program that has been provided.
The test server works great for HTML (.htm) files - when I created a file .php to test that it doesn't seem to work. That's what I get in return:
Server error in Application "Default Web Site" HTTP Error 500.0 - internal server error
Description: Manager of "PHP_via_FastCGI" has a bad module "FastCgiModule" in its module list
Error code: 0x8007000d
Notification: ExecuteRequestHandler
Module: IIS Web Core
URL requested: http://localhost: 80 / index.php
Physical path: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\index.php
User logon: Anonymous
Logon method: Anonymous
Handler: PHP_via_FastCGI
The most likely causes:
- A module is referenced in the configuration, but the module has not been installed or the module name is misspelled.
- IIS receives the request; However, an internal error occurred during the processing of the request. The root cause of this error depends on which module handles the request and what was happening in the process of work, when this error occurred.
- IIS could not access the file web.config for Web site or application. This can occur if the NTFS permissions are badly positioned.
- IIS was not able to process the configuration for the Web site or application.
- The authenticated user doesn't have permission to use this DLL.
What you can try:
- Make sure that the module is installed. The error description may contain information to help you determine which add-on is causing the error.
- If the module is installed, check that the module name is not misspelled in the configuration configuration/system.webServer/handlers section.
- Ensure that the NTFS permissions for the web.config file is correct and allow access to the Web server computer account.
- Check the event logs to see if additional information has been recorded.
- Check the permissions for the DLL.
- Create a rule of follow-up to ensure the follow-up of the requests failed for this HTTP status code. For more information about creating a rule of follow-up to the failed requests, click here.
More info...
This error means that there was a problem during the processing of the request. The application was received by the Web server, but during the treatment a fatal error occurred, causing the error 500.
I have spent hours on google looking for a resolution, but have had no joy, if anyone can help or has no indication as to why this is happeneing I would really appreciate it.
Thank you very much
Paul

Description: the device, \Device\CdRom0, has a bad block.
I have McAvee. A month ago a Trojan plopped o program my screen that said it was Windows and set the virus if I would be a click. I knew better than to restart... It ruins your computer of my husband 5 years ago.
I saw that once again, but since I had a lot of problems. The INVESTIGATION period didn't recognize me.
I now have a PC Health Check, which appeared and he had my name on it IP. Now I see it's been blocked.
First of all, I couldn't start up right. I had to choose F1 or F2. I fixed.

All my backups do not appear so I can reinstall to an earlier time. I can not restore from disk.

"The device, \Device\Harddisk0\DR0, has a bad block" on Dell Vista SP2
I am repeatedly getting the error "the device, \Device\Harddisk0\DR0, has a bad block." in the event viewer. Recently, I fixed a security problem that prevented me to install windows updates. For this, I ran CHKDSK (see results below), System File Checker, and a complete analysis of the system of McAfee, spybot and Malwarebytes, both in security and the good start. How can I check for errors on my HARD disk?
--------------------------------------------
My problem earlier wire: http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/is/genuinevista/thread/60c76236-abd2-4fea-8980-007f424a8eb0Although most things seem to work very well, "the device, \Device\Harddisk0\DR0, has a bad block." error still occurs in the event viewer despite the installation of updates/CHKDSK and SFC. Check the results of said disc 'the volume is clean' and the System File Checker showed no errors. Windows resource protection did not find any breach of integrity. Any ideas, what is happening?
In addition, I don't know if this is related, but a problem with the wireless network connection keeps recurring. "Windows wireless service" is not automatically start during the boot. It must manually be diagnosed and started. He gave the following error message:
In network connections, the IPv4 and IPv6 protocols are verified and most up-to-date driver software is installed. When I tried to update the drivers under devices, I got the following message. "The best driver for your device is already installed. Windows has determined that the driver for your device software is up-to-date.
