When I start my 2 year old Toshiba Satellite M40X, I get to the banner of Toshiba, but Windows does not start. I tried using the recovery CD and it does not either.

Any suggestions as to what could be the problem?

    Hello

What do you mean with the banner of Toshiba? Did you mean the Toshiba splash screen that appears at the begging of the boot?

Equium M40X successfully passed this screen?

If the laptop is unable to switch to the home Toshiba screen then I presume that the BIOS has detected a hardware problem.
In this case primarily the motherboard fails

But if the laptop is able to spend the Toshiba start screen, the motherboard must be ok and only a 3rd device malfunction as HARD drive could cause this problem.

  • Windows does not load and displays a black screen when it is connected to the power supply

Original title - Windows Vista running on my laptop Sony VAIO

Trying to turn on my laptop using the built in battery nothing happens.  When the laptop is connected to the power supply and turned on Windows does not.  It shows something in the sense that it does not properly off.  It tries to load back to a system restore point before the last stop, but seems to fail again during this process.  All that is displayed is a black screen. Currently the power on light is on, the battery light is on, but the drive activity light is off.

Yet once again, I switched on the laptop and finally the Startup Repair process is automatically called.  After the display of the bar to attempt repairs, the system has been repaired successfully.  As a result, the I ran my Norton anti-virus, followed by Windows Updatesoftware.

  • cannot move the application window = Windows does not know how to do windows.

It is quite ironic that the company that filed the name windows does not the best job to design a GUI of windows desktop:

    1. If I run a browser with multiple tabs (usually 30) opened with a connection with limited bandwidth (cable modem), the browser window opens but is locked in place (it cannot be dragged by the grab bar) until all the tabs are loaded.  ~ 30-40 seconds.  What is happening with this?  Who designed the graphical interface of Windows?

Furthermore, is not a failure to set bookmarks, multiple tabs are left open because many activities underway, that's what tabs are for.

    2. If a secondary application window / "door" is open, the application window is locked in place.  If an attempt is made to drag the window of the grab bar, the pane starts a queasy nod.  The pane must be closed before the window can be moved.  The component can then be reopened to complete the desired operation.  Is this a real problem?  Well Yes, sometimes a lot of time is wasted juggling and spinning to get the installer of Windows GUI/desktop as you want, for example: obtaining information from a window of the underlying application and before deciding what to do.  This applies to windows, not windows, not MAC OS, Linux not.  Windows forever.

Re. 1. If I run a browser with many tabs...

It is not so much the result of the design of GUI but a work function how graphical operating systems.   Events, such as the mouse messages are queued in a message loop, and there is a communication between an application program and Windows if a callback procedure.  The operating system cannot always respond instantly when an application is busy as any other treatment happens.  Open the 30 windows! on the application startup is a lot of treatment and is bogged down the loop CPU and message.   If you want an instant answer to OS any level of demand, you can look to a supercomputer rather than a PC multi-million dollar.

Re. 2. If a secondary application window / "door" is open, the application window is locked in place.

The "sub-sub-window/pane' is properly called a modal dialog box.  Windows are usually coded in modal form (which means that they should be closed before a continuous program) when they include a message critical, or can be used to configure the application settings.  If you would like more information see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modal_window

These two conditions certainly exist in other operating systems.

  • Message viewer window does not appear

This started happening recently on my father 15 "retina Macbook Pro race El Capitan 10.11.3: when it starts to mail, the main display window does not appear.

It's there, but invisible: I know because by selecting "Minimize" from the [Windows] menu in mail brings up for a fraction of a second before it zoomed down to the Dock. Once there, you can click the icon in the Dock and it zooms out on the screen, after which things work normally.

Until you restart the computer, or stop and restart Mail.

Oddly enough, this problem will not occur when I start the computer in Mode safe. However, I have disabled all the login items and the problem persists with a normal startup.

I have never seen something like this and would appreciate any advice or suggestions...

    Try the following:

    1. Abandonment of post
    2. Move ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail to the desktop.
    3. Restart the messaging
    4. If Mail is not working properly, remove the com.apple.mail you had previously moved on the desktop.

Now go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restoration) and then of the manufacturer of the device

updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - tab drivers version you install actually shows up. This
because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a
pilot - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW on device at the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER - manually check by model.
