  Please take a look at the key explorer in the registry to see if it contains a value that will hide the office.

  Back up the registry

  Start > type Regedit

  Click on continue in the UAC window

  Navigate to the following key

  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
  Search for a value in the right pane, called NoDesktop.

  If it exists and its value is set to 1, then change its value to 0.

  Conclusion of Regedit.

  Restart the computer.

  You might be able to buy LR 5.x from third-party vendors such as Amazon or B & H. Adobe does not sell older versions of Lightroom.
