    OK, I'm a newbie, but a real difficulty with my G 10 DB I had implemented on Unix Solaris, but someone has been messing around with it, and now I can't see ORACLE_HOME, ORACLE_BASE and ORACLE_SID, they return all empty when I try to 'echo' of each.

    I realize I should have initially he set in Bash_profile, but now is too late.

    So, how can I set them back to the top, I can't get SQLPLUS / AS SYSDBA... bash: sqlplus: command not found

    I tried to reset and to export but still does not work.

    I got the ORACLE_BASE as:

    but, can't seem to define three variables to launch SQLPLUS, any ideas what I am doing wrong?

    Tried messing around to reset but nothing works, it's the current state of things:

    Why are you trying to run sqlplus on a server that is not running the database? Just run it on the database server. However, if you really need to run sqlplus on another machine, you must install it. Look for the Oracle Instant Client and install the Basic and SQL * Plus packages to get the client works. You will need to use the forum of the database for more information on how to set this up, however.

  • sqlplus: command not found on Linux

    I have installed Oracle 10.2.1.0 in Ubuntu 10.10 My Setup was fine, I could even open isqlplus([http://ubuntu.ubuntu-domain:5560/isqlplus/workspace.uix]) and run queries...]) But, back in the terminal when I try to connect to sqlplus I get error
    oracle@ubuntu:~$ sqlplus / as sysdba
    sqlplus: command not found
    What could be the reason for this?

    Sandy wrote:
    Thanks for the reply Ed... It is very useful

    oracle@ubuntu:~$ env | grep ORA | sort
    ORACLE_HOME=/opt/oracle/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_2
    ORACLE_SID=orcl

    even better...

    env | grep -i ora | sort

    -I switch tells grep to filter case insensitive. It will also pick up your WAY, if it includes (as it should) a reference to the oracle bin directory.

    3 prepare the disk to ASM DISK using ASMLib
    4. infrastructure installation oracle Grid (DATA of GROUP of DISKS ASM creation)

    5. using creation of GROUP of DISKS ASM FRA ASMCA (ASM Configuration Wizard)

    6. Install ORACLE DATABASE SOFTWARE only

    7. Configure the LISTENER

  • DCUI: COMMAND NOT FOUND

    Hello all;

    I'm about to upgrade my server ESXi from 4.1 to 5.1 in the next few days.  I through vCenter Update Manager and have taken the appropriate steps of research.  My question & concern is good.

    I want to see want happens through DCUI but I don't get - bash: dcui: command not found

    Now, I have followed the links:

    VMware KB: Access Direct Console User Interface (DCUI) since a SSH session

    VMware KB: Enabling root on an ESX host SSH connection

    and logged in as root but the command does not run.  I'm not able to view the DCUI (which is weird, indicating that another host on the vCenter, I can't PuTTy (SSH) in this host and see the fine, same DCUI ESX & build number.)

    Any Suggestions?

    You can connect to the Service Console, but keep in mind, there is no way to make a room upgrade from ESX to ESXi - 4 or 5 - there must be a new installation.

    I upgraded my camera vma 5.1.0.0 Build build 782391 to 5.1.0.1 1062361 this morning and now when I try to issue the vifptarget command to specify one of the guests in my list as target I get

    -bash: vifptarget: command not found

    I can see the man page for the command and I noticed that it in/opt/vmware/vma/bin/as well as vifp that works to add or remove hosts.

    I tried a logout or restart the device, but that did not help. I tried to add location of the command on my way and that only errors generated.

    You are looking for specific orders from the network. Try these

    esxcfg-vswif

    esxcfg-vswitch

    esxcfg-vmknic

    You can type man esxcfg-vswif for more information about the command.

    Make sure that you have access to the consoles before attempting to change the IP settings on a remote system.

  • I get "command not found" error to the linux terminal when you try to run the tar.bz2, ACE extracted in the installation instructions. Any advice?

    I extracted to the terminal linux firefox in my own repertoire and you try to run the executable file called firefox. But he's saying "command not found".

    You seem to have 64-bit Linux because Linux versions served on mozilla.org are 32-bit.

    Hi Friedhold

    You can start the command line WLS_FORMS?

    I want to know if it's a configuration nodemanger error or a forms runtime error.

    12 c you must start all managed servers command line the first time. 11 g, Oracle made for you.

    12 c is no security directory to the boot.properties file so create.

    If information of name of user and password of the noch (boot.properties or Nodemanager) are then forms are not used will be able to start
