  Problem was solved after reinstall & reconfig (without uninstalling) box-2, after that I could use planning an application as usual without error.

• Essbase Server flashes and disaapears?

  I installed 9.3.1 on windows and set up the components and saved with a few days before SSP and everything worked very well.
  Today, when I tried to start my server essbase it just flashes and disappears. I did not essbase server as a service, and normally I used to start and enter my password. Now, I am unable to connect to the console because of this problem. Help please!

  Ahh I answered I was ad, you can delete C:\Hyperion/common/EssbaseRTC/9.3.1 as long as you have the reference to C:\Hyperion\AnalyticServices.
  Maybe it's the runtime essbase client, you have installed the client recently or something like the environmental impact study.

• Help with Essbase 9 and the Java API

  Hi, I am trying to connect to Essbase to a Java desktop app and I'm unable to do so. I need to know if I'm in principle do the right things and if I have the good environment set up.
  
  We have a server with Essbase version 9.3.1. We normally use essbase through the Excel add-in, and I already wrote it Excel applications that can use both the add-in and the Essbase API in VB. Now, I need to connect to Essbase but out of Excel and using the Java API. I have no idea what is APS don't my Essbase administrator.

  I'm running my app on my computer, not on the Essbase server, and the user name that I use is the same one I use (as a user of Essbase) through the Essbase Addin in Excel, not an admin login.
  
  When I run the application, I get:
  "Cannot connect to the Server.Make provider ensure that access code settings are correct and the server of the provider is running."
  
  Please can you confirm:
  (1) do I need an admin login for my client application to connect to the Essbase server or can I use a dial-up connection in normal play, like the one I use in Excel?
  (2) is the same provider regardless of the computer, i.e. "http://localhost:13080/aps/JAPI '; How can I know what this could be? Where can I get this information?
  (3) how can I make sure that the server is running the server needed 'provider', it's just a service that appears on the server services.msc? What should I ask the Essbase administrator for him to tell me what I need?

  Leo,

  You have APS and Shared Services running on your server? It would be the first question to answer. If you put in the url (http://localhost:13080/aps/JAPI, in your program) in a browser, you get a generic APS screen, or you get an error "page is not available. Unless you connect to APS that is running on the same computer that is running your Java application, the section 'localhost' should be the name of your APS Server.

  (1) for this Java program, you connect just to read only access that ID is OK
  (2) the supplier would be the same for every customer. The provider is the URL of your APS Server. Unless you run in embedded mode, you must APS to connect with the Essbase server. In embedded mode, you talk with the Essbase server, see [this thread | http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=3314485?].

  (3) APS - Analytic Provider Services, I'm not sure what it would show on a Windows Server. I suppose it would be something on Hyperion System 9 Analytic Provider Services. If you have installed APS, I would try the embedded road because it's the only way you will get to work.

  The problem has been resolved.

  I discovered that it was with Linux server, I could configure the Essbase server from Windows server to Windows server while it was certainly the problem of Linux.

  To solve it, I had to re - install Linux server, I configured the Essbase server and she succeeded. I don't know what was the reason for the issuance of the periphery, but I guess that there is a missing package installed on Linux server and this cause of the wrong configuration.

• RDBMS for Hyperion Essbase server change

  Hi all

  We installed and configured 11.1.2.2.100(Essbase, EIS, Studio, Services partagés) on Windows 2008 32-bit server successfully.

  Everything went well and all the products work.

  Now, we have changed the RDBMS for Hyperion Essbase server and ran the configuration once more with the new RDBMS server with option "reuse existing tables.

  Therefore, we are unable to access the essbase server.

  We have seen users of Shared Services. All users are able to connect to Shared Services, EAS but problem with Essbase.

  In the table of HSS_Component is the old name of the server in two places, we have updated the old name of DB server on behalf of current server DB.

  When we try to access essbase we get the below error (tried with the host name, ip address, EssbaseCluster1 as the Essbase server)

  Error network [10061]: unable to connect to [Server Name: 1423]

  Error: 103: unexpected error Essbase 1030818

  Error: 1042006: error network [10061]: unable to connect to [[servername]: 1423]

  Error: 1030818: failed to connect. Please check if the server and port are correct. If you have received failure timeout or handshake.

  Please check if you tried to connect to a secure Word keyless secure port or disable port with the secure key word.

  It is extremely important that you know what you are doing before you touch the registry of shared services and the correct way is to not update the tables, is to use the epmsys_registry utility.

  To be honest you can have messed up the registry and it is something I will not get involved in, try to talk with Oracle, what you just did.

  If it is only the name of the RDBMS server change (not the essbase server) then you must follow the instructions in the documentation - change shared Services and connection of database registry and the password information

  I hava an Essbase server and many (built in Financial Reporting Studio) reports using this server as a data source.
  Now, we are migrating to different server (but databases and all is the same, just different ip of the machine).
  
  My question is: is there a quick way to change the address of server in all reports of FRS?

  However, a simple answer to your questions could be summed up as follows.

  If you are familiar with older versions of application server version 10, which include OC4J as its Java container, as a managed WLS server is basically the same thing.  In the context of WLS, a managed server is responsible for hosting java applications on the server side.  For example, Oracle Forms Servlet.  The WLS management server is actually a java application deployed on a managed server.  So, really, the "Admin" server is a kind of "Managed Server".  In a typical installation of forms/States, you will find that at least three 3 managed servers are created automatically for you:

  • Server Admin
  • WLS_FORMS
  • WLS_REPORTS

  Node Manager is a separate process that is used to allow the two directors of the WLS environment such as command line allowing the administrator of the server to communicate with other servers managed, local or remote.

  Then, for simply "run" apply (forms, for example), all you need is the managed server that hosts the forms Servlet.  However, if you want to change the configuration via a web interface, you must also run the administration server (and Node Manager).

  All these components are much more complex than what I've described here.  I would recommend to consider the documentation if you are interested in learning about them.  That said, the best way to really learn about them likely will be to install the product and start using it.

  I'm trying to figure out the Essbase server version and the service provider.
  For Essbase in environmental assessments, it shows as ESB11.1.2.1.0B347.1
  Can anyone confirm that represents this "0b"? Also is it so superior to 11.1.2.1.102?
  
  Also can you please give the steps to find out the exact version of the provider of Services running. I find that in the properties.

  It is to show that no patches have been installed while you are on the basic version of 11.1.2.1, you would need to install the patches required or higher for the Smart View feature

• Problem with Installation of Console Essbase administration Services

  I would like to ask your help in an issue while trying to install Essbase Administration Console service. You will find more details below.
  
  1. I have a Linux to Oracle VM with Essbase server, services foundation, EAS server already installed, but not the console of Regional service.
  2. I downloaded the Regional service console and the installer of the RTO EPM and tried to install the client on my virtual machine.
  3. However, the installer of the EMP is not let me install the console as it is said that "Common components", "product common components" are missing.
  
  Can you help me please let me know if the above meetings are necessary even when you install clients? I was of the view that since the essbase server is already installed, I didn't need them now.

  Follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:

  Method 1:  When the "Error 1068" error is logged, view the dependencies for administrative services tab to ensure that the services that rely on administrative services are not stopped. To view the Dependencies tab, follow these steps:

  a. click Start, click run, type services.mscand click OK.

  b. right-click on administrative service you wish to view and then click Properties.

  c. click the dependencies tab.

  If the service that depends on the Administrative function is stopped, right-click the service in the Services console, and then click Start. Then, try again changing administrative service.

  Method 2:  Try the SFC (System File Checker) scan on the computer.

  To run the System File Checker tool, follow these steps:

  a. click Start and click run, then type cmd in the box start the search.

  b. right click on cmd in the list programs, and then click run as administrator.

  c. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue

  d. at the command prompt, the following line and press ENTER:

• Essbase Administration Service - create rules SQL file - connection error

  I am creating the rules SQL files in Essbase Administration Console.

  When I press the OK/recover button in open SQL data source window I get this error:

  cannot connect to establish a connection with the SQL Server database see log for more information

  I tried the ODBC connections and BEAK .

  When I test the ODBC connection in Windows administrative tools > Data Sources (ODBC) > system DSN, it works correctly. but in open SQL error there.

  I tried two separate databases for my test.

  an Essbase server machine.

  a separate server.

  both give me the same error.

  SRD: 11g R2

  Essbase: 11.1.2

  

  Do you have any suggestions?

  Create the DSN using DataDirect Oracle Wire Protocol 7.0 in (System DSN) ODBC administrators and test the connection of the Rules file. It will work.

  SSP Essbase server shows but for all groups roles has beed deleted.

  When I try to re - assign particular group roles, I realized that Essbase server does not show in the left pane.

  This means essbase struck with Shared Services? If so can you please let me know the steps to register again?

  I know to remove the instance Essbase Shared Services and new Externalize user will do, BUT can you please let me know y at - it problems doing?

  Problem has been resolved. Worked with Oracle and review Essbase.

  It is corrupt and possibly RDBMS openldap.

  Solution: Manually (via MaxL) has deleted all requests for services shared and deleted essbase server then outsourced to the users to register with Shared Services.

• How not to create a partition on an essbase server without using the domain name and the port using the MXL script?

  We know that we can create partitions on the SERVER NAME, SERVER. AREA: PORT only and ESSBASECLUSTERN founded through the Regional service CONSOLE.

  Now my question is how to do the same to CREATE or REPLACE the PARTITION script.   By default, it's get created using SERVER. AREA: PORT only.

  Here is my script that I use to create a partion.

  CREATE or REPLACE REPLICATE one PARTITION "xxxx". "' xxxx ' AREA 'xxxxxxxx' SOURCEAREA to 'xxxx '. "' XXXX ' to 'WZ00339D' AS 'xxxxx' IDENTIFIED BY 'xxxxxxx' AREA"xxxxxx ";

  Put it in the script is the following.

  WARNING - 1023052 - Partition [WZ00339D:1423 Bullseye Sales] is not valid.

  But the partition is created on essbase app - database with the SERVER. AREA: port only.

  Partition part of orphaned partitions as am I try to open the partition under the name of the SERVER not only through the SERVER. Average Doman:port.

  FYI, the user id used as logins are created by using domain - they are not native users.

  Let me know I can provide more information, the entire reason to use a script to create a partition is to refresh the score by a fall and create a partition.

  I solved this problem.

  Its very simple all my code and approach was right.

  Everything I did wrong is an active directory account to create the partition and check used a native account on EAS. If you log in with the account active directory - the partition is under the name of SERVER only.
