Basic management of CPU

I remember the app, I used once allowed me to determine what my CPU core would treat a specific program. I've only used once and maybe not on this particular build or bit-version of Windows, but it was a long time ago.

The problem is that core 1 of the overloads of my CPU to 100%, while the other 3 cores remain less than 20 percent usage during the load, which makes the System unstable. This is not normal, I know, and I'm starting to think that maybe my Utorrent is to blame. He began to occur in the last 4 days. As I've had it running for months on this version I see not why problems should start now. Utorrent help restart and it will be fine until the system goes to idle for a few hours. Then the 1st core begins to rise in usage.

So to solve the problem, I want to try to move delivery of Utorrent to the core 4 CPU... get it?

Can anyone help?

Thanks rafik. Yes, this PC is a tank... armor of Norton. I think your right about the overload, so I have set down some settings in Utorrent. Maybe, I just had too high quantity of connections. Which may have fixed; I'll find out tonight if it starts going nuts while I SLEEP.

Thanks for the reply... You helped me also remember where are the settings of affinity... GEESCH. right in front of me.

    Hello

Thank you for your kind reply.

    My answers to your questions:

    1 processor: Intel Core 2 CPU 4300 1.80 GHz

    2. RAM: 2.00 GB

    3 OS architecture: 32-bit

    4. OS version: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 (V6.1.7601)

As I said before, CPU usage was 100% even if no demand had started. The operating system (explorer.exe) used about 60% of the CPU.

Microsoft Security Essentials has not helped.

In the meantime, I found a solution. After using restore system several times (not only one!), I managed to get my normal working conditions in return.

    Problem solved, thanks again!

  • Need help please, need help to upgrade my CPU.

Hello, I really need to upgrade my cpu, I do not take "just buy a new pc. First is my pc specs, it's a desktop HP Pentium 4, windows xp-based pc. The computer model is the HP Pavilian a1113w. On my program called 'CPU - Z' it says that my processor is: Intel Pentium 4 516, Code Name: Prescott, package: Socket LGA 775, technology: 90nm, basic tension: 2.235V, specification: Intel (r) Pentium (r) 4 CPU 2.93 GHz. The motherboard's manufacturer: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. model: Goldfish3. If you would like more information please tell me, I want the best cpu for my pc because I've already updated my ram to 4 GB and an expensive graphics card. Now the only problem is my cpu because I see that in the performance tab in windows Task Manager, my cpu is always at 100% when I run the games or other applications up-to-date and causes a lot of noise from the fan and heat.  Please help me and I'll try to give you 5 dollars to your paypal. Thank you. PS does not matter if I have to buy one off of ebay or used.

    Hello:

No double heart will not work. Pentium 4 650 is the maximum.  If you try to install any dual processor core (even a Pentium D), you will be very disappointed.

You will notice a pretty decent performance increase maxing out your PC to the Pentium 4 650.

Here are the comparative table next to your current CPU and upgradable processor maximum.

    http://ark.intel.com/Compare.aspx?ids=27482, 27455,

I would like to land $25 on a used in a blink of an eye.

I hope that when you bought your memory, you got all the DDR2 PC 4200 (533 MHz). At least that's what the plug state you can install.

DDR2, PC4200 memory + CPU P4 650, your machine must be rather decent.

Your bottleneck is the ugly video. You can install a PCI video card (which I assume you did). You cannot install a PCIe video card, and that's your biggest problem.

    Optimization techniques

Unfortunately, I don't know any way completely satisfactory to organize this information. In what follows, I discuss memory management first with sub-themes listed in alphabetical order. Then I discuss the management of CPU/GPU with subheadings listed in alphabetical order.

This may sound logical, but at least, there are two problems with this organization.

    1. I don't think it's the most useful way to organize this information.
    2. Memory management affects the CPU/GPU use, so that everything in the section of memory management can also be listed in the section CPU/GPU.

In any case, I'll also list information in two other ways, from the easiest to the most difficult to implement and more for much less.

Two of these later inscriptions are subjective and dependent on experience developer and capabilities, as well as environmental test and the test situation. I very much doubt there would be a consensus on the order of these lists.  However, I think that they are still valid.

Easier to the more difficult to implement

    1. Do not use filters.
    2. Always use the reverse for loops and avoid loops and avoid while loops.
    3. Explicitly stop timers for their loan for gc (garbage collection).
    4. Use weak event listeners and remove headphones.
    5. Strictly, type variable when possible.
    6. Disable explicitly interactivity mouse when interactivity smile not necessary.
    7. Replace dispatchEvents by the callback functions whenever possible.
    8. Stop sounds for the sounds and SoundChannels be gc would be.
    9. Use the most basic necessary DisplayObject.
    10. Always use cacheAsBitmap and cacheAsBitmapMatrix with air applications (i.e., mobile).
    11. Reuse objects whenever possible.
    12. Event.ENTER_FRAME loops: use different listeners and different listener functions applied to DisplayObjects as little as possible.
    13. The pool instead of creating objects and gc'ing.
    14. Use partial blitting.
    15. Use the blitting Stadium.
    16. Use Stage3D.

    Biggest advantage less

    1. Use the blitting Stadium (if there is enough memory system).
    2. Use Stage3D.
    3. Use partial blitting.
    4. Use cacheAsBitmap and cacheAsBitmapMatrix with mobile devices.
    5. Disable explicitly interactivity mouse when interactivity smile not necessary.
    6. Do not use filters.
    7. Use the most basic necessary DisplayObject.
    8. Reuse objects whenever possible.
    9. Event.ENTER_FRAME loops: use different listeners and different listener functions applied to DisplayObjects as little as possible.
    10. Use reverse for loops and avoid the do loops and while loops.
    11. The pool instead of creating objects and gc'ing.
    12. Strictly, type variable when possible.
    13. Use weak event listeners and remove headphones.

    Can I swop the processors?

    Thanks for any ideas

First upgrade the processor is not really supported.
If you want to do this, then just at your own risk.
I read in the forum that many users have been able to upgrade the processor, but in any case, it was a difficult story.

The chipset must support the new CPU, but even if the chipset would be able to manage the CPU, there is a question open about BIOS support.
So, if the BIOS does not support the new processor, nothing to do here

  • CPU mismatch

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02481325

It is a link directly on the desktop I have, it's a Pavilion PC from p6633w. I was looking to upgrade the processor a week before due to it being powered a bit low and decided to look through the compatible CPU listed. Well, it seems that I have neglected the fact that the processor is quite a bit higher than the max TDP (The Phenom II x 4 970 is 125 while the listed max is 95). I called HP support and spoke to three different people with no chance or know how to fix my problem in addition to going here or a local store to see if they could help me.

Starting with the Phenom II x 4 970 installed reads an error saying "error: unsupported CPU" in red text. I guess it's because of the TDP oversight, but is there something to actually do about it besides buying a new motherboard? There is no update of the bios not listed on the support page and I swapped the power a week ago (if 250w power could not, in the first place, have managed the CPU).

Any help would be appreciated, and if nothing is able to do (probably in the form of an update of the bios) is it a solution besides buying a new motherboard?

    Zodim, welcome to the forum.

I am sorry to say that there is nothing you can do to make the new processor to function correctly.  The motherboard is designed to work with a maximum TDP of 95W.

  • T320 iDRAC7 Basic

    Hello

I have a PowerEdge T320 with iDRAC7 with basic management. If I want to upgrade to Express or a company, do I need to install new hardware or the server has all the material and it's a matter of license now?

    Thank you.

    Zillionnn,

The two actually. With the T320 dedicated everything is incorporated in the database, only the vFlash port and the dedicated management RJ45 port are optional. Thus, you can activate the license and have all the features of the Express iDrac7 or business, just without vflash and dedicated port, because it is located.

If you chose to get option two, reference numbers are listed below.

    VFlash - 342-3723 part number

IDrac port card - 331-6956 part number

Now the difference with this one is that you have licenses that controls the Express and the company, here are the numbers for the different licenses.

    iDRAC7 Express 30 day trial - 421-6925

    Company iDRAC7 trial - 30 days 421-5344

    License Express - 421-6086

License of the company - 421-6087

Let me know if it helps.

Think about it an absolute must - manually update your drivers.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htm

Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using the methods above
It is preferable to ensure that the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system and device manufacturers are located)
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally
older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then
get new manually if you wish.

  • Change of that flag - hot virtual CPU add

    Hello

I'm trying to build an application that will add/remove of CPU and memory to a machine virtual a VApp.

I currently have the code to add.

What I need is to understand the options 'Add a virtual CPU hot' and 'Hot-memory add' how to define those who through the API? And do I need to change in order to add new CPU/memory?

    Thank you

    Hen

    Hi Henrique,

Basically the virtual CPU/memory hot add means that modifing the number of CPU / memory of the virtual machine, the virtual machine is running.

In the API, you don't need to set options to do - simply start the virtual machine and to try to change - even as usual editing operation.

Note that are are some requirements to perform "HOT ADD" operations, so if some of the requirements is not fullfilled "hot add" operation will fail. For example, this feature is added in VC 4.0, so the version of the VC on which runs the cloud must be at least 4.0 VC. For other requirements on the add feature hot, you can refer to the location of the following link:

I hope this helps! Please write if you have questions.

  • Configuration CPU ESXi4

Hi all, I have a 2 x CPU quad core physical server running ESXi 4. I installed 2 Virtual Server 2003 machines. I'm a little confused as to the configuration of the CPU of the virtual servers. Under each server configuration, I have 2 vCPU... But under the army, it says I have 8 x 1,999 GHz CPU (is that since its 2 x quad core) in respect of the allocation of server resources, it is said I've consumed 90-200 MHz CPU but 3999 MHz available. But when I said DRC to the server of its getting hammered with CPU... in Task Manager 100% CPU usage and its execution of death slowly. His running a SQL 2000 database and its very slow, access to the database. This who should I put the CPU config to get maximum preformance of CPU for SQL server?

    See you soon

What are the VM sitting on disk/compartment? There is no way you should have high CPU load under the virtual machine unless you have additional processes running, or storage is dog-slow. I am running on a pair of SAS 7200 RPM drives (in reverse, so space of one) and the virtual machine that is my SQL Server exceeds barely slowed down (slight Ridge in the early morning, as about 03:00 hours). What are the processors inside the server? Is HyperThreading enabled on the server (if so, turn it off)? Be used as an ESXi host is the bios configured correctly? The disks are configured correctly to not cause problems (inside the virtual machine)? I never create a virtual machine with less than 15-20 GB for his C drive (20 GB is standard, 15 is really short on space). What the host performance looks like over time (at least a day, if not the week)? What version of Server 2003 is running virtual machine? ESXi installed on disk or to a flash drive?

I'd like to get the latest information on the operation of management and CPU memory in esx 3.5, I have not looked at the product for a few years but read recall some excellent articles

Someone can point me in the direction of some good technical articles on memory like the blimp and transparent page sharing in addition to the planning of the CPU

    Thank you very much
