  • Almost all cases no matter what programs run almost 100% of the CPU running.

Hey guys I have a problem I could use some help with.

    I have a Dell Studio 1555 laptop

Windows Vista Edition Home Premium 64-bit

    4 GB of Ram

    Intel Duo Core T6500 @ 2.1 GHZ

I've had this laptop over a year now and it works perfectly but around a week ago, he went a little out of whack.

Basically, no matter what programs are running my CPU usage will be 90-100%, which makes the laptop almost impossible to use.

It comes and goes a bit, but for the majority of the time is around this margin. (for example I wrote that his party up to 10% once again, little about what I expected, but it will rocket upward again in a few minutes)

The strange thing is that it doesn't seem to be a program or .exe using all CPU. Sometimes odd things as Dell Dock (which must use almost nothing) use up to 40% and if that gets closed or temporarily fixed things like explorer.exe, svchost.exe or whatever happens to be executed at the moment when will start using more CPU and look back up to 100%.

Only, this started happening recently and I have no idea what made him... Any thoughts?

Thanks a lot for all the suggestions/help

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

  • Where can I find what should be my temperatures of the CPU for laptop HP Pavilion DV7-6195us?

I download a software to view the inside temperatures and even if they have little symbols (green check, red/yellow flame, etc.) by every internal part (e.g. CPU0) I want to know what HP internal temperature range is recommended.  Thank you.

What CPU is installed in your laptop?

It isn't really a question of what HP is recommended. Your concern should be what the CPU manufacturer lists as Tjunction for the CPU.

If your laptop is the Intel Core i7-2630QM installed then lists Intel 100 c as TJunction. I found the technique for your laptop here. You should be concerned if you see time > 85 degrees Celsius. Here is a link to Intel for your processor plug.

After several accidents, I installed the utility coretemp on A200-1YK my wife.
He told me that the CPU runs at about 90 degrees, sometimes up to 95.
According to [Intel | http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SLA4K#] there a maximum of 100 degrees.

That seems quite high, but I don't know what should be the normal operating temperature. Anyone who has the same model can tell me at what temperature should I expect it to run to?

    Hello

The temperature of the CPU is always different. It always changes during execution of programs.
Using high performance applications, all parts such as CPU or GPU must operate with maximum performance and it would increase the internal temperature.

But you're right. 90 degrees looks a bit too high, even if the processor can handle this temperature.
I think that the cooling modules must be verified. Sometimes the dust and debris prevents the fans work properly and air can circulate properly.

You can try to remove the dust using a jet of compressed air... in most cases, it helps to

  • What does 'fon0' or 'fon1' for the built-in fonts?

I work with a supplier who is reporting to our society. We asked the provider to use our fonts and design standards. The reports are delivered to us in form of PDF files and are finally delivered to our customers, which of course do not have our fonts so we needed them to be embedded in PDF files.

I am just checking that they use indeed fonts, we have specified, but see confuse the results in the sample PDF files they provided. I see that the fonts are similar, but not quite the same thing. For example, periods, when magnified rather round and square.

When I look at the Document properties/Fonts, I don't see font names that I expect. I see two apparent embedded fonts - fon0 and fon1, both shown as TrueType (CID) and Encoding like identity. h.

Anyone has any idea what fon0 and fon1 represent, and why I don't see a familiar font names?

This means that there was a substitution (as you know the form of periods), probably because the fonts are not available for any app they used to create the PDF file. There are two ways in Acrobat to see more details on the fonts in a PDF file - one is to open upstream and choose the Browse... all the fonts in documents in the Options menu, the other is to install the plug-ins free FontReporter of PDFLib (Google for it).

    Hello

I'm currently looking to buy a hard drive but don't know which means that the number of rounds, IE is it better to have a higher or lower rpm file?

    Thanks for any help

    Hello

RPM refers to the rotation of the head per minute.
It's the speed of the HARD drive the faster the head rotates faster HARD drive can write and read data from the disk.

Usually the 7200 RPM is a very good report, so if you are looking for a HARD drive then I recommend you buy the HARD drive supporting this speed but this value is not very important for the performance of the laptop everything is good to have, but not very necessary. You know

  • What does it mean to "reduce the selectivity"?

    Hello guys

I try to understand the following

As the columns are compressed from left to right, the columns must be ordered in decreasing selectivity to get the best compression.

As far as I know, selectivity = number of distinct values / num lines

So, if selectivity diminishes, the number distinct values decreases, right?

Question 2: Correct me if I'm wrong, also a means of selectivity, if the sql query returns multiple rows, it is said that low selectivity. However, if the sql query returns multiple rows, it is said that strong selectivity.

    Thanks in advance.

Talk you about the compression of the table or index of compression?  Or something else entirely?

In the context of compression, if I read the line you quote, my interpretation of "lower selectivity" is "the column with the distinct values least is on the left, the column with the most distinct values concerning the right of it... and so on.
