Battery life has decreased

I have a Macbook Pro Retina Display, which has been bought only mid-2014. The life of the battery to 100% used, i.e. about 10 hours if not more in the last two days, it dropped up to 7 hours or less.

Before that, I would take my computer to school with 100% and return at least 50% to go and now I can barely make it through the school day! Only, I use Word, Safari, and most of the time Powerpoint and make sure that all my other apps are off to save battery and yet he still eats battery like crazy. It will say there are still 6 remaining hours and 40 minutes, it will go up to 4.5 hours! I have no games or large application running so I don't see why my battery life has decreased in this measure. The fault might be my charger? I always use my laptop came with that but there cuts everywhere and a few pieces of the wire is exposed.

Please let me know what I can do to restore my batter life.

You need to replace your charger, but it probably has nothing to do with your battery life - the 'intelligence' isn't in the battery charger. There are two basic reasons for the battery life decrease: 1) using more electricity or 2) your battery cannot hold as much power as it did when it was new.

Discover #1 open the activity monitor and click the CPU tab. In the columns, he scored a % CPU which shows the percentage of cycles CPU used by a process. Click on the label and the list of processes are sorted to use above the lowest. Over the next few days keep an eye on her to monitor all the processes that seem to have and maintain a high percentage. My computer will be a process of spike up to 50-60% but down then down quickly. The only time where I see a sustained high CPU usage is when I do something like a large file for archiving or extraction of a CD.

To check the #2, click the Apple menu and select about this Mac. Then click on the button tray . In the left pane, look for power. You will find information on your battery, including the number of cycles and the health of the battery. Under normal conditions of use of 18 to 24 months old computer should get close enough to use even on a charge like new - I expect maybe a loss of 30 to 40 minutes. But if you have a large number of cycles on the computer - say an average of 5 cycles per week for as long as you have owned the computer, the battery may be almost on time when it needs to be replaced. Battery life depends on several factors which can vary greatly from one person to the next.

    Hi all

Someone knows the capacity of the battery of the XOOM (MZ601), mine is 3260mah

  • 'Power saver' mode battery life has suddenly deteriorated.

Hi - I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 32-bit on a laptop Toshiba (plug here).  The laptop is a little less than 2 years old and is in constant daily use.

My battery life got suddenly shorter.  I know this because of my job (I'm a student, and I'm taking notes for the office of disabled people in my uni, so I have to carry my laptop to all my classes and taking notes).  I often have to run my laptop without being able to connect, as some halls are not equipped for it.  Accordingly, I am very tuned to what I can out of my battery.  Before Christmas, with the power saving mode and the brightness of the screen turned down as down as possible and unnecessary services and programs all does not, I could get about 1 hour and 45 minutes out of the laptop, give or take.  But now, 4 weeks later (beginning of the College's new mandate) I can barely get out of 50 minutes with the same settings.
I understand that the battery life decreases with age.  However, it is a very sharp and makes me think it's abnormal.
I would also like to point out that when I move the mouse over the battery meter, there is a distress message / (yellow triangle with "!" inside) under where it says "the current power Plan: energy saving»  The message said: "your current plan may reduce system performance."
I'm fairly certain that this message never used to be there.  In addition, on the 'High Performance' and 'Balanced' it doesn't have this message!
I changed the power options advanced to answer me.  But I have reset default values on all levels of electrical energy, in "Change Plan settings" in the "Power Options", but it did not help.
I just reset the power management using the command line (powercfg - restoredefaultschemes), which got rid of my other projects to be able to staff.  I was not able to check if it worked yet - I'll do it later - but I am not optimistic because this warning message is still there.

One last thing: when it is plugged in, that it charges 99%, not 100% as it was!  It is said, "connected - not load."  Can be linked.

Any ideas?  This is a major drawback for me because I depend on to get out 2 conferences out of my battery!

PS the display brightness is at the very least, and I can't see new programs or processes that are not running before.   In the past few weeks I did a CC registry clean for the first time.

The battery probably affects at its end of life... If you have any calibration tool in your bios that run... If this is not the case, a complete emptying and full load may help... Jared Gray - checked CrossLoop Helper - www.crossloop.com/jaredgray

  • iPhone battery has decreased with the Apple Watch

I recently got a Apple Watch for Christmas, I've been very happy together and have (almost) no complaints with the watch in general. Although I noticed that my iPhone's battery life has decreased considerably since I've matched with Apple Watch. Instead of returned from a day's work with 50-60% on my iPhone. my phone is almost dead at the end of the day. I have an iPhone 6 and 38 mm Apple Watch Sport. Does anyone have a solution, or even a final reason for this issue?

  • Half hours of battery life, please help.

Please help, my e200 is only for 30 min of the batter life!

I have load to full. In 2-3 seconds, it fell to 75%.

In 5 minutes, it is down to 50%.

In 25 minutes, he fell to 25%.

Soon after, she stops a lack of power.

Had it for over a year, the battery life has decreased slowly, but this is the worst I've ever seen. I would like to buy a new battery, but it's a battery of property, and I don't have a credit card so I can't get one online.

  • MacBook battery life

I just bought my macbook two weeks ago and at first, the battery life display 10 hours of use but after I have updated to OS X EL Capitan, it seems that the battery life has become much shorter than 5 hours of use. I set the brightness to save battery, but the battery consumption is always the same. Is it normal to be like this or what should I do to save the battery. If anyone knows how I should improve my macbook battery, it will be very good to know that for the most part, I need to travel and need more autonomy.

Open the activity monitor (in the Utilities folder). Click the CPU tab and click the column heading of time CPU. All items showing a very high number?

  • Tecra A3 battery life

Product specifications for tecra a3 in this website indicates 3.46 hours-mobile brand. I get less than that, although enough to watch a movie. Can I know what this sheet is based-maybe a battery high capacity and the battery supplied with the camera?

    Hello

the battery life depends on how much power setting you use in battery mode. 3.46 hours can be achieved only at the lowest setting. Another thing is that not all batteries of the same type same time (normally only slight differences). And after a while in use, the battery life will decrease until eventually it stops working (in some years).

But maybe your battery is not working properly just and must be replaced.

    Good bye

  • Battery life after 4.4.4 updated

I always give things a few days after an update, clear the cache and turn off the phone and let it sit for 10 minutes every day, but it "seems" that the update is draining my battery MUCH MORE fast now after the update. No new applications or process. Anyone else having this problem? I get a day use now when I would always get a solid 1 1/2 to 2. front.

Running Dalvik or ART? I started noticing the same thing. Not a whole lot like you but some. My battery was down a little warm. I uninstalled the weather widget, I've had and an application called Muzei live wallpaper. I installed after 4.4.4 the live wallpaper application. I've switched back to Dalvik and it seems that my battery life has improved. Slow drain is a lot less now. I don't know which of the three things I changed was the culprit.

  • In window 8 poor battery life

I've updated from windows 7 x 64 to windows 8 x 64 on my notebook HP Pavilion dv6-3057.  Since the upgrade, my battery life has been terrible.  I set everything in the power settings, but just battery does not last long.  I think that all the drivers are installed. I use a modified version of the Power Saver power plan, which has the lowest brightness, the max processor state, etc.  On windows 7, I used to get 3 + hours of battery life, now I get about 1.5 hours with windows 8. Any suggestions?

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry ID App world update and battery life

    Hello

Yesterday, I received a message saying I needed to update my blackberry app world to integrate a Blackberry ID in the new version.  After completing the update, my battery life has been significantly reduced.

My normal operation autonomy is about 24 to 32 hours.  I got the phone on the charger overnight and after cutting the cord this morning, 4 hours later, I'm at 40% battery, where I should be 90-95%.

I have not done other updates since the Blackberry ID push, and normally my data usage is low. (IE, less than 300 MB per month)

You ask what are my options in this case.  I guess I'll have to work on the resettlement of the application through my Blackberry Desktop manager, but I was wondering if there is something I can do in the immediate future.  I've done several soft resets, and it did not help.  I'll do a hard reset (remove battery) and try that.

    Thank you.

After a few system updates and deleting app world, my battery issues have been resolved.  marking this post completed.

  • X201T standby / hibernation / bad battery life

    Hi guys,.

I bought a X201T tablet a little over a year previously, but since a BIOS update (has happened quite earlier), I was not able to Hibernate or put my tablet to sleep more.

When I close the lid, the laptop screen goes black, but he keeps running, so once I open it, it immediately turns back. If I try to manually put it in sleep (Start, sleep/hibernate), these options are grayed out and I can't select them...

Also, since then my battery life has been terrible (approx. 2 hours on high performance, maximum 3-4hours on low performance) Although the battery is in good condition... In addition, the option for Intel turbo boost appears no more when selection the high performance

I did have a problem with it keeps not given that startup is fast enough with SSD and everything, but it is not always very practical and would like to find a solution. The shortcut for hibernation (FN + F12) does more either.

Not sure if this is enough information for someone to help me, but I would be happy to provide you with more information if necessary and I would be grateful for any help or suggestion.

    Thank you

    Thibault

I was so a lot of work lately have a chance to try this fix, but I uninstall a program and accidentally also reinstalled the driver Intel HD...

After reinstalling it, the problem seems to be fixed so I guess it could have been a driver after all problem

    Thanks for the help anyway

  • Why battery life decreases significantly when I use Safari?

I upgraded to El Capitan 10.11.5. on my Macbook air early 2014.  Just when you open Safari, it is listed as using the significant energy and the battery life decreases by several hours.

I have no software extensions or third running.  I didn't have bugs or other problems since the installation of El Capitan, just this matter of battery life.

If anyone has any recommendations on how to investigate this, I would be very grateful.  Thank you.

Please, back up all data before proceeding.

Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select this option:

    ~/Library/Safari

A right click or Ctrl-click on the line and select

    Services ▹ Open

the contextual menu.* should open a folder named "Safari". Quit Safari runs. One or more files in the open file must have a name begins as follows:

    History.DB - wal

Move these files and only those who, in the trash, leaving the window open. Restart the application and test. If there is no change, stop again and place all other files with a name starting in 'History' of the Safari folder to the trash. The browser history will be empty. If possible, restore the file named "History.db" from an earlier backup problem.

  • Mid-2015 MacBook Pro 15 has Horrible battery life

I have a Macbook Pro 15 mid-2015 is the basic model, 2.2 Ghz and 256 with no graphics other than the Pro of the Iris.  I got it for about 3 months and I take off the power once a weekish and use it around the House.  Whole reason I decided to go Apple was because I wanted to the battery life that windows machines cannot offer with that kind of power.

I must have got a spleen or something because my battery life is bad.  I lance 50% screen and backlight OFF and do nothing to keep open.  My Dock has nothing open except for the mail to notify me and my browser if I use it (98% of the time).  The battery life is maximum of 4-5 hours to do this constantly, the only time where I got was more a road trip where I turned the backlight and display off and using only iTunes to listen to music through my headphones via bluetooth, it provided for 20 + hours this day here.  Just get here for the last minutes went from 38 to 19 percent more than 31 minutes of battery time.  I know a decent amount about computers and I am a saver of energy mass unless I'm hip, low light, no backlight, no program didn't open that I do not use etc and yet I get a ridiculous autonomy.

What should I do? Any suggestions? I read somewhere on the power off and then when you power back up hold down Option + command + R to put something else inside the machine.

My battery life is normal for what I described?  It of not like I'm that fool who knows nothing about computers and leaves open pages, mail, messages, itunes, Skype and browser just because I can.  I leave nothing open (so no programs on the platform were the 'point' under them), erasing everything that isn't necessary VIA activity monitor, such things as creative cloud.  I'm just puzzled.  I must have got a dud.  Please help and advise me on what I should / test.

Running OS X El Capitan 10.11.3, but it's not just because of El Capitan, this has been like that since Yosemite when I bought first.

    Thank you
