Battery life springs from 0% to 100% in 5 minutes

I currently have a HP Pavilion dv6-7007TX Entertainment Notebook PC running Windows 7 64 bit. While my laptop, charge the battery life suddenly springs from 0% to 100% within minutes as shown in notfication area. Afterwards, the battery life does not, and is still stuck at 100%. This causes a real problem for me as the laptop that I am unable to tell if the battery is almost discharged.

Can anyone help pls?

The material has been eliminated.

If it was the charger, the question should have died while he was just the battery.

If it was the battery, he should have gone away while he was just the charger.

It might be a deeper hardware problem, but it usually isn't.

Windows has software that is responsible for reading and which indicates the State of charge, so it would not display correctly if this software has been altered in some way.

There are two approaches to fix a software problem that could cause this: restore the system to a date before the problem occurred, or to perform a full recovery of the system. I recommend starting with a system restore.

This can be done by going to start and you are looking for a system restore. Open this according the results, then follow the guests ensuring you select a date where the question was not present.

Let me know what happens.

  • Terrible battery life

For a reason, even when I charge the battery, if I use my laptop on battery, I get about a half hour of life out of it.  Then when I plug turn and back in this one, he said I still have between 70 and 90% remaining battery life, even if it stops again in a minute or two if I unplug it again.

I ran the HP Support Assistant battery check (he says that the battery was good) and I also calibrated the battery, and never gave me any change in the condition.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem? Or is it now a laptop that needs to be plugged in at all times?

Product number is VM222UA #ABA in case it is useful

Update BIOS actually got about an hour more battery by charge, although the battery life is not still go all the way down before I die.  Calibration I already did by tune, so that did not change anything.  But it helped enough to make it feasible. -Thank you

  • Satellite A100 - battery life is increased from 100 min to 20 min after 1.5 years

After 1.5 years, the battery life dropped about 100 minutes within 30 minutes.

I thought that the battery was bad, but after that Windows automatically stopped because he thought that the battery was empty. I plugged the power cord for 10 seconds approximately, started the computer laptop, unplugged immediately and let it run in the BIOS screen. It has been running for more than 45 minutes, so that the laptop is off. Then

I guess the battery was still high capacity, but somehow calibration data has become invalid.

Is it possible to calibrate the battery? I have not found such a feature in the BIOS, where all my other phones have such a feature (even if I never need for others!)

    Hello

I think you're a little confused about the duration of battery life and performance of the battery.
But you should t be confused because it is nothing unusual.

After about 500 times charge/discharge, the battery will begin to lose clean performance.
This means that after a longer time of use, the battery performance will decrease and a day you need to replace.

My 7 year old laptop doesn t work on battery power. The power of the battery takes about 2 min same it s fully charged. I know that I should replace, but I use this laptop as desktop Pc. It s always plugged in.

If don t wonder about the performance of your battery. It s normal behavior.

  • Is it true that only charge your iphone at 100% can shorten its battery life?

Because some say it may decrease the battery life if you always or often recharge your iphone to 100%. They said that it is better not to load it 100%, and some have said it's ok to charge your phone to 100%.

your phone/ipad/computer laptop/ipod is designed to be loaded until it reaches capacity. That's what it is designed by engineers. Then no. • 10 IOS battery life issues

Since the update to IOS 10 my battery percentage meter slept on 100% at all times. the only time where is the change is if im using the phone to play a game or something and it all of a sudden everything stops as his death. I plug it into a charger and it turns almost immediately and said my battery life is a kind of p 100, 40, 73, etc... I did a restore and it seems it will continue with the same question.  I followed all the steps to save the life of the battery and the problem still happens.  Help, please

Try to download the app from the battery life which is available for free on the App Store. Check the battery with it and if defective, schedule an appointment in an Apple store for eventual replacement.

If your device does not load, try the procedure described in this article from Apple:

  • 5s short battery life iPhone, phone like new 6 months.

I bought my iPhone about 6 months ago. I have problems with the battery life. I plug all night. Unplug in the morning and about 4 hours he spends 100% to 40%, even without me using the telephone. I thought to buy a new battery from Amazon and change myself. I found videos on YouTube showing how do, and it seems very easy to do. Someone out there chaned their own battery before? Was it easy to do? And your phone has worked for you once you have changed your battery yourself?

Just thought I ask. I am one of these people if it's something I can do for my part, I do. Does anyone has an entry on the situation before I try this on my own?

    Hello

The battery on the iPhone is not replaceable by the user. The battery - if that is the real problem - is covered by the limited warranty of one year of Apple.  If the iPhone is out of warranty, Apple also offers a service of the battery. The cost for this varies across countries (currently $79 in the United States, for example).

However, as a first step, I suggest that you try to solve the problem of life battery. You can, for example, to consider measures such as:

If the problem persists, I suggest you contact Apple technical support or make a Genius Bar reservation for assistance in identifying / confirming the issue and, if necessary, to set up your service from the available battery options, time and cost.

    To check your warranty status:

  • always charge your devices from 0% to 100% (charge cycle) at least once a week.

always charge your devices from 0% to 100% (charge cycle) at least once a week.

This will help your battery life improves.

It's not something that Apple recommends: http://www.apple.com/batteries/maximizing-performance/

  • Tecra Z40 - A - 16 c - indicator battery life problem

    Hello

    As from 2015, I own a Toshiba Tecra Z40 - A - 16 c.

I noticed a strange behavior regarding the battery life indicator. When the laptop is fully charged, the indicator shows 100% remaining. And when I use the laptop, the percentage drops slowly, as expected.
However, as soon as somewhere around 50%, the indicator is suddenly decreases and says he has only 5 or 4% left and I should switch it on immediately.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

    Kind regards
    Oliver

The battery may need calibration. Load and unload completely several times.

If it happens again, the battery needs replacing. You can check the level of wear using HWMonitor from cpuid.com.

  • Satellite S50-B-12Z: battery life cycle Option does not appear in the eco utility

    Hello everyone.

I am facing a strange problem. The eco utility allows to work ok with win 10 on my S50-B-12Z satellite and I used the eco charging battery I've run mainly my laptop plugged in.

At some point, I need to do a system restore. I have re-installed the 10 victory and also the latest version of the eco utility downloaded from the Toshiba site. The problem is that when I open the utility eco, the choice of "battery life cycle", where you can select the eco reload or not, seems no more! So I find myself with the battery to 80% connected but does not support.

I already tried to uninstall and reinstall the utility or install an earlier version of it.

Is there something I could do in order the choice of "battery life cycle" to reappear or to cancel the State of charge of eco and leave my battery to charge again 100%?

    Thank you

I have the same problem with my P50 - A satellite. Battery-life cycle does not appear in the new eco Win 10 utility installed. Version is: 3.0.0.0006. Older versions do not work, I tried also.

More than 80% of maximum load, not 100% .

I hope someone has a suggestion. To 80% battery life is too short

  • Battery life has decreased

I have a Macbook Pro Retina Display, which has been bought only mid-2014. The life of the battery to 100% used, i.e. about 10 hours if not more in the last two days, it dropped up to 7 hours or less.

Before that, I would take my computer to school with 100% and return at least 50% to go and now I can barely make it through the school day! Only, I use Word, Safari, and most of the time Powerpoint and make sure that all my other apps are off to save battery and yet he still eats battery like crazy. It will say there are still 6 remaining hours and 40 minutes, it will go up to 4.5 hours! I have no games or large application running so I don't see why my battery life has decreased in this measure. The fault might be my charger? I always use my laptop came with that but there cuts everywhere and a few pieces of the wire is exposed.

Please let me know what I can do to restore my batter life.

You need to replace your charger, but it probably has nothing to do with your battery life - the 'intelligence' isn't in the battery charger. There are two basic reasons for the battery life decrease: 1) using more electricity or 2) your battery cannot hold as much power as it did when it was new.

Discover #1 open the activity monitor and click the CPU tab. In the columns, he scored a % CPU which shows the percentage of cycles CPU used by a process. Click on the label and the list of processes are sorted to use above the lowest. Over the next few days keep an eye on her to monitor all the processes that seem to have and maintain a high percentage. My computer will be a process of spike up to 50-60% but down then down quickly. The only time where I see a sustained high CPU usage is when I do something like a large file for archiving or extraction of a CD.

To check the #2, click the Apple menu and select about this Mac. Then click on the button tray . In the left pane, look for power. You will find information on your battery, including the number of cycles and the health of the battery. Under normal conditions of use of 18 to 24 months old computer should get close enough to use even on a charge like new - I expect maybe a loss of 30 to 40 minutes. But if you have a large number of cycles on the computer - say an average of 5 cycles per week for as long as you have owned the computer, the battery may be almost on time when it needs to be replaced. Battery life depends on several factors which can vary greatly from one person to the next.

  • The battery life of the IPad Pro

I've had my IPad Pro nearly a month now, I am very disappointed with the battery life.  Can I get a battery completely charged at 10:00 and 15:00

She is drained down to 19%.  I only surf the web and play some games. I disabled all the elements that would drain the battery, even possibility dimmed the screen.

is this normal, it is far from the 10 hours, I also cam fill a small external change to the rear of the unit. What should I do? I had apple do a diagnostic check and they said there was no problem detected.

Hard to say... I had the iPad over the years and the Pro is the best yet.  I use mine extensively, mostly to surf the Internet and check news sites, not be interested in the games. I also use it for photo editing. A typical use days could be between 4 to 6 hours and when not in use, it is in standby.  I never feed power off.

I also have mine recharge every night, regardless of the status of the battery.  After a full days use, the status of the battery down from 100 percent to about 45 percent.  When the rear of the load box gets hot, when you use it, it's cool.

It was an Apple store or a retailer that took place the diagnostic practice?

I would say that your battery life isn't typical.

  • Horrible battery life

    Hello world

I don't know what else to do.  Seriously, I think that I have a defective battery.  I googled "tips for saving battery life on iOS 9 ', but nothing seems to help. I'm not keen on a large number of features is disabled on my iPod Touch.  I have reset, restored, disabled mail set Backgroud App Refresh, location, updating manually, Services etc.  Whenever I play heavy games, the battery goes from 100% to 20% in a little over an hour. Regular web browsing and more lightweight games gives me a little more than four hours. If I'm lucky, I get five hours of use, if I barely use the iPod.  I saw the other posts here from people complaining about bad autonomy on the iPT new 6g.  I'm about to go into an Apple store and get it checked, if possible. I can already hear the speech "it is normal".  Something else I'm missing?  Very disappointed.

I would go and get checked out. I know that games can drain it. I played Village Smurfs for several months and now I need to load my ipod every night so a game can drain your battery. I don't play the game constantly, but I could tell a few minutes to an hour a good part of the day.

  • On a new laptop battery life is less than 5 minutes; says it's fully charged

I bought a Clevo M72S/M721S Mini laptop, a year ago. When I bought it, it had about 10 minutes of battery life. Now, it lasts 5 minutes without the AC is plugged in. When it is plugged in, however, it is said that the battery is charging and is 100%. I don't know if it's a dead battery, a battery life vulnerability in XP, a bad connection or something else. I've never used this thing only on batteries, with the exception of battery life tests. Help, please!

Critics of this mini are not too abundant, but I found a couple for the re-brand model, and the life of the battery when new, was, on average, about 75 to 90 minutes. Since you never more than 10 minutes BL, and it seems to work fine on AC, my guess would be a bad battery from the beginning. Too bad it's probably out of warranty, but you can try to contact them in any case to see if there is perhaps a battery recall.

You could try to calibrate the battery. Read this article and see whether or not you want to try it:

And here is a procedure of HP, although it should work for any laptop:
