Try the calibration procedure. If no joy, then I suggest that you contact HP on the battery.

  • Battery not charging - Thinkpad E531

    Dear Lenovo,

I have been using Windows 7, but I recently changed to Windows 8.1.

In Win7, I was able to install and use the Lenovo power management software, and I changed the threshold of 40 to 50% battery.

After I installed Win8.1, I realized there is not any software for Windows 8.1 E531 power management, so I can't charge my battery above 50%.

It seems that power management software makes somekind of related material change or do not remember my previous settings which I did in Win7.

How can I change the thresholds without reinstalling windows 7 and power management software?

Could you give me a link to a management software can be used for Windows 8.1 E531 Thinkpad power (which is 100% working)?

    Another solution?

    Thank you!

    Hi Tray86,

    Welcome to Lenovo Community!

According to the request, we understand that you are facing problem with the battery not charging over 50% on your ThinkPad E531.

You must change the setting of control dependence of Lenovo to always fully charged, please visit the link below and follow the steps from that.

  • BlackBerry Z10 battery not charging 100%, remains stuck at 84% to 91%

Battery not charging 100%, remains stuck at 84% to 91%.

    Hi all

I got my blackberry z10 not too long ago, and initially, the battery was not serious. A full charge is 100%.

Now, I'm having the problem of not to charge up to 100%. He shows me the icon of "lightning" up to about 84% to 91% where it stops and shows me the '=' sign as in fully charged or not charging.

I tried to restart the device and even turned off while loading see that fixes the problem or not, but nothing helped.

Someone here has the same experience? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

LEAVE it plugged into the wall charger (not USB > PC charger) for half an hour.

With the charger plugged, remove the battey a minute then reinsert it.

This will often reset the battery on the device reading to the actual battery charge.

  • Satellite P850 32Z: battery not charging

Recently, I had problems with the battery, which means that I need to plug my AC adapter all the time. The battery in the taskbar icon indicates that the battery is 68% and these last days. Placing the cursor on the icon says "plugged in, not charging", and the battery on the laptop light does not illuminate. If I unplug the AC adapter, the laptop shuts down completely.

I also tried the cold reset following instructions (from the section "Solving a problem" to support)
    1. power off your laptop and unplug the AC adapter
    2. remove the battery from the PC (for models with semi-fixed battery, please follow these instructions)
    3. press the button power for 30 seconds.
    4. then, plug in the adapter without the battery, turn on your computer and start Windows normally
    5. wait 5 min. and then replace the battery on while your laptop is turned on

In step 4, when I turned on the laptop, the laptop starts and the battery light is on. But then after a few seconds, the battery light turns off and the laptop turns off.

    Someone had this problem?

I have the same question. I bought a new battery. It worked for about 1 hour from 67 percent and amounting to 100% and then my laptop just died. Now my old battery indicates 0%, no charge, my new battery says 0%, 8 minutes at full load. So I'm a little confused about this and don't know if it's only a battery error. I'm going to service this week, so I know what the problem. I have the Satellite P850 - 33 m

  • Satellite Pro L20: battery not charge when the power adapter is connected

    Hello

    all advice appreciated.

I had a Satellite Pro L20 for about 18 months. Recently, battery does not charge when the power adapter is connected. The battery light starts yellow (which means more liberated, I think?), then will both green, the machine sat for awhile. However the ACPI often said that AC is "offline."

There are two recent occurrences that coincide with this problem, I try to eliminate:

    1. my friends rat chewed by the feeder for pets! Power is Mobile OK insofar as he fled sector - the rat seems to have simply chewed by the outer cover (I see some threads, but I think that is just a shield, although I'm not an electrician).

    2. I put the laptop in hibernation for the first time. That seemed to mess up the system a bit, which was what initially drew my attention to the problem. This question is a bit complicated because I'm under Linux (Xubuntu).

I updated the drivers etc from windows when I bought the laptop. Never had any problems until now and have been running linux for centuries. Also, I have mainly the laptop the power supply turned off, but do not remove the battery (is that really a problem these days?)

I obviously need to replace the adapter, but is - it is likely (and how I can check) that the battery was borked until?

    see you soon
    Chris

First, please check if the other are lit.
If the AC led and power led are on the adapter sector is ok and it provides the power to the laptop.

    > The battery light starts yellow (which means more liberated, I think?), then will both green, the machine sat for awhile
If the battery LED is yellow, this means that the battery is not fully charged and if the Green led changes then recharging is caught and the battery has been recharged.

So I really don t see any problems with the charge process.

Maybe the battery is old and so you cannot use it for an extended in such a case only the replacement of the battery could help.

  • Satellite Pro A100: Battery not charging

    Hello

I wonder if anyone can help. I have the laptop above and just before the warranty run out, I had a problem with the power cable because it would not require the laptop and would also make a funny type of sparking sound.

I sent it to Toshiba who could not find any problem with him (he did only occasionally - usually after using it for an hour or two) and the laptop returned me which worked well.

Shortly after the warranty missed, I had another problem with the power. The laptop battery is dead and the power cable would not charge the battery at all. When the laptop is connected or not connected, the only light I get when you press the power button is the orange flashing light telling me that the battery has no charge.

So I bought a new power cable thinking it would fix the problem, to find that this was not the case and the laptop would not even charge.

I Dove and bought a new battery hoping that was what was causing the problem, only discover that even once the battery was not at fault either.

If someone had a similar problem or know someone how / repair shop what to do to solve this problem without having to spend a fortune on take it to a PC? After calling trick a couple where I live, they said they would only do what I did - change battery and charger - and if that did not fix then told me to buy a new laptop.

    Help, please!

    Hello

Sorry for this news but this question looks very bad.
First of all my first thought was a battery defective, but according to your message, we can exclude this possibility

Everything looks like a malfunction of the card mother:(bien sûr ce n'est qu'une suggestion, mais si l'adaptateur est ok et la nouvelle batterie doesn t trop puis une panne de carte mère est possible.)

I think that there is not much to do. First, you must be 100% sure of the breakdown. Verification of the laptop is so necessary and inevitable to see what's exactly wrong.
That's why I really would recommend contacting an ASP and ask for details and additional handling.

But be aware that the exchange of the mobo is a costly affair because the motherboard is one of the parts expensive notebooks. Lets hope you n t need to replace it

    Good luck

  • Satellite L50T-A196 battery not charge not after 10 win upgraded

    Hello

    I just updated to Win10.

I noticed that the battery does not charge and when I unplug the power supply laptop switches off do you think it is software problem?...

I have the laptop for two and a half years now... the battery is dead and need to be replaced? or can I fix it?

and if it needs to be replaced where can I buy original battery online?

    I just updated to Win10...
I noticed that the battery is not

Does the battery charge before the upgrade?

    Try this workaround:

Go to Device Manager, expand the batteries then uninstall/remove Microsoft ACPI compatible control method battery.

    Reboot the laptop.

  • Satellite P300 - battery not charging

    Hello

I have a Satellite P300 - 15 d and I have battery problems. The battery do not charge. Its sequel, but the orange LIGHT in the windows startup icon it keep to 21%. In the maintenance of the battery, the charge rate, she scored 0W.

Its a new battery. (2 days). He has worked for 2 cicles of charge/discharge.

    Hello

How long to connect the AC/DC adapter? For a new battery, I would recommend leaving the adapter plugged in for 24 hours.
    Check this box!

In the worst cases, your new battery is faulty, but in this case, you should get a free replacement battery. Just ask your dealer where you bought it.

  • EliteBook 8570p: battery not charging - even if the computer appears to see that it is plugged

I have not found a suitable solution for this (yet).

As a backdrop, I just got my laptop under warranty returned by HP service for a problem with booting docked impasse.

They replaced the motherboard and the hard disk. I kept battery with me, so he did not travel to the service.

So I turn the computer to the test, to see if the boot at a standstill problem was software related, and I noticed that the battery does not load (network port is also not reliable, but maybe it's a different problem).

I tried the fix posted elsewhere where I uninstall the ACPI compatible batteries from the Device Manager. But that did not work.

This produces the same, whether the laptop is docked or connected directly to the power:

    1. the power low battery icon is displayed and AC plugged in.

    2. the battery charging light is orange.

    3. once I start first the power icon is animated, clearly showing that the battery is charging

    4. If the mouse on the icon of power, it lists that the battery is 23% (plugged in and charging)

5 but nothing changes. hours later the battery is always on display at 23%

    6. battery works. I can run off the battery voltage.

    7. the power supply works. I can run off AC only (with battery removed)

    Thank you

The saga has been longer than that. I got a new battery, but the problem persisted. I actually managed to charge the battery and it meets the same test on a laptop.

I called HP support and they suggested I have test the battery in diagnosis mode F2/system, outside of Windows.

The same battery would pass or fail depending on the State in which was the battery.

In any case the laptop wouldn't load any stack - on a platform or directly connected.

I could get a failure of the battery if the battery was less to, say 85% and the yellow light blinking load (load error).

I ended up sending the laptop in for repair - they think case somehow got distorted... but I'm not sure what they actually lair.  The motherboard was already replaced for other reasons.

  • HP laptop G3 255: nine 255 G3 laptop battery not charging...

I'll put a G3 255 for a friend and I noticed that the battery won't charge. Indeed, the battery, unlike all the portable precedents that I put in place, had a load zero on the box. From memory, with all previous laptops, new batteries held at least some charges.

Icon in the tray of food says "0% available (plugged in, load)" while the balance of the battery in the utility HP Support Assistant says "the battery works fine but has not been charged recently.

Just to be clear, if I unplug the machine turns off instantly and if I try to turn it on without the power cord plugged in, absolutely nothing happens. Certainly feels as if the battery has no charge be and takes no fees either.

Of course that one day, the machine is under warranty, but I just wanted to get opinions on the question of whether the battery or laptop will be the problem. Only, I discovered the flaw after hours to transfer all the stuff from his old address so prefer to avoid it even once! I hope that HP sends out (or swap) a new battery.

Anyone has similar experiences with batteries not charging or maintain any load and with HP response?

Your description describes one main battery failed.

The main battery and the mains adapter are covered under warranty for any cost of replacement devices guarantee.

I ask that your question is raised.

  • DV4170US - new battery not charging

My first battery had gradually shorter battery life, so I replaced it with a spare battery.  Who has worked for more than a year.  Then, it would not load.  I was able to use the laptop with the charger attached, but the battery would not charge.  I bought another battery of alternatives.  This has been running for only a few weeks and then would not charge.

I tried to remove the battery laptop computer with attached charger, closure, reinstall the battery - the 'charge' indicator (Flash) lights up for a second two ro then turns off.  I also tried to boot the laptop then by installing the battery with it-same result.

I also tried the utility assessment battery HP - it stated that the battery cannot be analyzed or something to that effect.

FWIW, the battery and exhaust fan were always very hot on this machine.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.  It's always a very good laptop with lots of life left in it.

    Bostonc,

Thank you very much for your message! I'm really sorry you had these ongoing issues with the battery of your laptop.

After the bios update and runs the battery check, unfortunately there is not much that can be done in the way of troubleshooting.

Certainly, I suggest you buy your next HP battery, if only if you get the 1 year or cycle 300 warranty with the battery.  If he gets a new battery HP during the warranty period, I would certainly check again with Notepad. Without any other symptoms, I wouldn't necessarily assume that the issue goes beyond just the battery.
