Battery on Satellite L50-A00M problem

Hello

I would like to just a few comments on the expected useful life of the battery on my C50-A00M.
The computer is a little more than 2 years.

It can't hold a charge, and the health assessment aboard Toshiba tells me to replace it.
Is it by for the course for this model?

On some models of laptops, batteries have longer life and on some models, the batteries need to be replaced earlier. There is not a kind of 'standard' on this issue.

What is exact laptop battery life?
Very long ago, I got L300 and battery was dead after only 2.5 years.

You click right using internal touchpad laptop s or is the problem also appears using an external USB mouse connected to the computer laptop s USB port?

  • Strange activity on Satellite L50-A00M HDD

My hard drive has recently decided to start the race to 100% for long periods of time without being connected to any process to do so.

As you can imagine many that steals the focus and slows everything I want to do what I'm waiting for a lull in the proceedings. I also had the Symantec Technology do a session remotely to try to detect a virus, but he decided that it was a hardware problem after two hours and didn't find anything. It has been fully scanned. And for some reason it doesn't seem to be a corruption of the system that I can not run the restore function. And I wonder if they are connected.

Although I can't find something. Help

On this virtual path, it is not easy to tell exactly what is happening with your laptop.
All you can do is to check settings, startup applications and running processes to see if some of them may be responsible for the behaviour of the HARD drive.

Perhaps best test you can do is to back up all your important data and reinstall the original recovery image to see if the problem will be solved.

  • On Satellite L50-B-1NL battery problem

    Community salvation.

I bought this model of laptop in August and noticed problems with the battery.

Recently, the laptop will stop when the operating system said that it was still more than a year and a half hours of charge left. I have recalibrated the battery and it was working fine after that, until about 10 days later when he repeated the same behavior.

I checked the preinstalled Toshiba Health Monitor, which reports the battery has no problem, I was wondering if anyone here has experienced this problem on this page or a similar model?

I am currently using the 'eco' power setting which is the default value for this computer and the operating system is Windows 8.1.

Are there known issues with the recent Windows operating system who had misconstrued the battery that I may know?

All the tips are greatly appreciated.

Windows system does not affect the performance of the battery, but Windows system provides some battery settings in the Windows power options.

In Control Panel-> settings-> advanced options power options power station, you will find the settings in the farm.
Here, you can configure when the laptop should power off.

But to be honest I don't know if all the settings would be responsible for your problem of battery power m.

It looks that the laptop does not report the level of battery power so I recommend to calibrate the battery once more, if the problem would still appear, you need to replace the battery.

  • My Satellite L50 - A - 16 Q turns off suddenly while on battery

    Hello guys and girls,

I have a problem for some time that I don't really know how to solve.
    In November 2013, I bought in Poland, where I live, a nice TOSHIBA SATELLITE L50 - A Q - 16 (PSKJNE).
On this computer, even if something is constantly causing me problems: * very often the power stops so that all of a sudden on battery *, even if the 'TOSHIBA PC health monitor' app that monitors the temperature of the processor, also shows no sign of criticality.

However, there is something going wrong: thanks to this software, I noticed that whenever I unplug the charger, the fan speed is zero, apparently put the endangered cooling system. And I know in the manual that if the temperature of the processor reached a critical threshold, the system stops automatically.

Anyway is to solve the problem to not stop suddenly, making me lose data then on the battery?
Maybe turn on the speed of the fan, somehow, so that this mode?

Thanks to everyone for your contribution, in advance.

    Kind regards

    Matteo

If you unplug the AC adapter, the system will pass the plant (it depends on the configuration of power plan). Check the Windows power plan settings to see what configuration will be used in battery mode.

This power plan can be configured and all the settings are located in the advanced power settings.
I recommend you to check the mode of cooling and if necessary to use the same settings that are used in the power management when the laptop is connected to the power supply.

  • Toshiba Satellite L50 - A battery load but remains at 0%

    Hello!

For the last two weeks, I had problems with the battery of my Satellite L50.-a. It remains at 0%, although it will load. If I remove the power adapter, the computer continues to operate for a period of time. Now, here's the odd part. If the laptop has been in charge for a while, it stops. If I remove the power adapter it will start again and show always is at 0%, but now it works for about 1.5 hours before the battery is actually empty.

So I use my laptop without power until it stops, then I charge for a few hours and then it stops and we start over.

Someone has an idea that I could do to fix this?

    I tried:

    • It loads from one day to the next without using the laptop
    • Several drivers update
    • Disconnect the battery, start with power supply adapter, stop and reconnect the battery

    Hello

Have you found a solution? I have a similar problem and cannot run the laptop with the power connected.
I have a warning message that the battery needs to be replaced and if I do that it does not start even if the replacement battery has been charged.

  • Satellite L50-B-1GL - connection WI - FI problems

    I bought a Toshiba Satellite L50-B-1GL

I'm having problems with the WiFi signal reception, I found that it is that in this book because I have an another older toshiba and receives the signal also correctly correctly receive the signal in the cell, the problem is with this laptop, low signal of a Bay and up to two or three at the most, sometimes gives even me the message that there is no sign , do not work with the battery, I am plugged into the mains.

Please can you help me, or I have to send for repair.

    Thank you.

    Hello

I think you have some connection problems Wi - Fi because that card LAN of the laptop that is Intel 802.11ac + agn supports WLan standards (AC, A, G, N) probably there is a problem of compatibility between the router and the especially WLan card if the WLan router has been configured for 802.11 B or G only.

If you want to establish the WiFi connection, you must ensure that the road and the wireless network adapter supports the same WLan standard.
For example: the router + wireless network card must be set to 802.11 A or G or N because these standards are supported by the WLan module.

For the wireless network adapter, you will need to check / change the settings in:
-> WLan card device manager-> properties-> Advanced tab

On the Advanced tab, you'll find settings and options that must be controlled and configured.

  • Satellite L50 and SSD - performance problem

    Hello

I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite L50-A-1EH and the first thing I did was to replace the hard drive with an SSD.
Initially the SSD is not recognized by the BIOS, like many other users across the Internet reported as well.

To prove this statement here are other people having the same problem, and people have tried different SSD.

    Link: [1st edition SSD | http://forums.toshiba.com/t5/General-Troubleshooting/E45t-cant-detect-Samsung-840-pro-SSD/td-p/503785]
    Link: [2nd edition SSD | http://forums.toshiba.com/t5/General-Troubleshooting/Switching-HDD-to-SSD-on-Satellite-S55-A5176-Problem/td-p/590778]

The problem can be solved by changing a setting in the BIOS.

[The SATA interface parameter] [enforcement] to [battery life].

However, this workaround solution comes with a cost, which is performance.
The SSD is able to transfer files at a speed of 500 MB/s.

However, in this mode the SSD transfers files at 133 MB/s.
I lose 4 x the speed of the SSD.

In my view this problem in the BIOS.

Can someone help me solve this problem?

    With sincere friendships.
    Arthur BOULELLI.

I also discovered today that is not serious if I am running in mode UEFI BIOS (CSM).

Combined with AHCI BIOS mode it takes [parameter] Interface SATA for battery life, otherwise the SSD is not recognized.

The Toshiba using the latest firmware (to July 23, 2014), which is v1.70.
The SSD is a Samsung 840 Evo and has the latest firmware, which is EXT0BB6Q.

Given that the SATA interface is set to battery life, the SATA interface is set to SATA1, who of course tops out at 133 MB/s.

For me, it is simply amazing that a laptop with a Core i7-4700MQ the year 2014 cannot detect an SSD SATA3.

Does anyone have a suggestion how to fix this?

  • Satellite L50-B916 - wireless connection problem

    Hello

I bought my Toshiba Satellite L50 B916 less than 6 months ago and had to download all the drivers for myself because for some reason, the operating system has not come with her.

Went to the site of TOSHIBA MEA to download and install the corresponding drivers.
    Downloaded the Atheros wireless driver.

Still, the Internet connection disconnects on my laptop, but works fine on other laptops and devices.
Not just a connection, all the ones I tried to connect to.

Tried to remove Atheros and re - install, it worked fine for a few days, but the connection disrupt again.

What should I do to solve this very annoying problem?

Hmm... made it happen using the laptop in battery or also while mode that the adapter is connected to the laptop?

It might be possible that the powers of WiFi, saving settings are enabled, and therefore stops the WiFi connection.

    Reach:
Windows power options - choose the right central - advanced power options.
Search of the WLan card settings and set it to "best performance".
You must also set the parameters for the PCI express for the 'best performance '.

In addition, go to the Device Manager. Choose here the Wlan card properties
Switch to the last tab called "Power Management" and make sure that the option available in this tab is not checked!

  • Satellite L50-A-111 - 0% battery power

    Hello.

Today while playing a game my Toshiba Satellite L50-A-111 stops and when I turned it back on, I closed the game and on the desktop, I noticed that the battery was at 0%, I checked the AC and everything was connected and after one minute it off again. So after a few attempts, I noticed that the latter always follows this behavior:

    1. when I turn on it return _with HQ power on_, the battery is at 0% available (plugged in, does not support) and _it will stay 5-minutes_ and just before turns out it will change in (plugged in, load) for like 15 seconds and then turns off.

    2. at the time unaware of _it the "DC IN / battery indicator ' is white (indicates the AC adapter is connected and the)
battery is fully charged.) 5 minutes and again for 15 seconds, it will change to amber (indicates the AC adapter is plugged in and the battery is being charged) and he repeats this behavior in the cycles of 5 minutes.

3 and this is the most bizarre situation, when I turn it back _with ignore AC power, the battery is at 0% and it stays on until it's really discharge the battery (I only did once)

    What I ve try:
change management the power to never turn off the power/sleep, did not.
Uninstall "Microsoft compatible battery ACPI Control method" and install it again (did not work)

I did not remove/replace the battery because I'm afraid of messed up, and I don't really know who will solve the problem.

Do you know what the problem is or what I can do to keep after more than 5 minutes?

    Thank you in advance.

Hmmmmmm... It is not easy to say what the problem is. I don't know if this can somehow help but try to reset your machine. How do models with main battery sets, which you can read on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB3C03JR0000R01.htm

Problem is that these questions can be tested with additional drums on most of the models of laptop but unfortunately your machine has set the main battery. If the problem will always be there do not open your machine. What you can do is to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider in your country, to explain the situation and ask for help.

  • Satellite L50 - A - 16 Q - problems after upgrade to 8.1 windows

    Hi all

    I have a problem with my Toshiba Satellite L50 - A - 16 Q.

I decided to update my laptop to Windows 8.1 Win8, unfortunately, it was really bad decision.
After that my computer is very slow. It takes forever to push the power button to be ready to use browser. Even Chrome does not work correctly. Before the update, my computer was big, fast and stable.

Is there anyone who had simillar problem? Is it possible to go back to Windows 8 without destroying my C: drive?
Maybe I should install something more?
    All drivers or another update?

I just install Win 8.1 update and nvidia drivers graphics.

    Hello

To be honest, I put t understand the decision to return to Win 8.
Win 8 contained many bugs that have been fixed with Win 8.1

Two days ago, I upgraded my new Satellite M50 - A Win Win 8 to 8.1.
It took some time but finally win 8.1 run on my laptop and its great!

First of all, you must update the 8 8.1 Win win recommendation of Toshiba:
    Details:
    http://www.Toshiba.EU/innovation/generic/windows8_1-message/
All Toshiba drivers, utility tools must be updated!

With regard to the starting time:
You know the hybrid mode? Default (Win 8) did not stop you probably know other systems like Win 7 offshore. The 8 winning performed the closed hybrid that allows you to boot up the laptop faster. But this has been closed not real mode.

Here is a good description how toggle this mode:

  • Satellite L50 - B - 23d 9.20% battery wear level in one week

A week ago, I bought a Toshiba SATELLITE L50-B-23d (part number: PSKTNE-00100YCE). I checked the level of the battery (PA5185U-1BRS) with 3 different software (AIDA64, Batterycare, CPUID HWmonitor) and they show the level of 9.20% battery wear. Yesterday, in fact it was 8.25%. Software AIDA64 reports also charge 10 cycles. Is it normal to 10 cycles = 9.20% wear level? You have no explanation, advice or it seems that the battery is defective in factory? I can always return the product to the seller.

    Thank you

    Hello

Short answer: do not consider these values at a point too early.

A: Please understand that the batteries are quite similar in their behavior. They are not normally ON or OFF, they are more or less responsible.
This 'level of wear' is (currently) a pretty bad description of the values behind it.
Level of wear is in fact simply a mathematical calculation based on internal values of the battery; rated capacity and capacity max.
Nominal capacity is the amount of energy that the producer wrote in the firmware that the battery is supposed to be able to hold.
Max capacity, what is actually possible to push in the battery.

Remember that the battery is pretty similar - this to say that taking a bunch of packages of any shelf, you will get different results.
They will of course be reasonable proximity of the indicated capacity, but may not be on the exact number.

So something like "wear the level" is simply the difference between design and individual.

Now, rushing ahead in time, you find that the maximum capacity will deteriorate. After months and years, it makes sense to talk about level of wear well.

So, don't bother on this subject now. And no - 10 cycles will not be equal 9.20% wear indicator level, 20 percent, matching the level of wear 18.4%.
This is not how these things work.

  • How can I disable the battery on my Satellite L50 - B - 1 HM?

    Hi friends,

I have a Toshiba Satellite L50 - B - 1 HM. In this model, the battery may not be withdrawn. I would like to know if I can turn off the battery in order to preserve the life of it.

Please help me with this question. It is important for me :)

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Marta

Unfortunately, this option is not available and you can't do that. to be honest I understand, but imagine you have an important work on your machine and suddenly power is interrupted for any reason any (disabled battery). In this case, you could lose your work.

In this case the battery is a kind of backup power.
Another thing is that the batteries used on laptops of today are not the same that we had 15 years before.
Don't think about it and have a fun with your machine. ;)
