Battery se - Satellite U500 - 11 c

I've got Toschiba Satellite U500 - 11 c PSU5EE
Releases the battery itself for about 10% per night! I checked USB Sleep & Charge optional BIOS and disabled. And what is happening all the time.

Laptop have only a 15 days so is this normal? I do not. I have uprage bios 1.6 but same problem.

Hello

Believe me it's normal. Battery can lose the maximum capacity of 25% overnight. It s nothing unusual.
Also check this interesting document - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/FAQ6301EP000ER01.htm

The BIOS update has nothing to do with it.

    Hello

Usually it s not uncommon is that a battery would lose about 4% of the power while it off s. But your battery loses about 25%, and it is strange

Check if your laptop uses the latest version of the BIOS and if a newer version is available then
    Update.

Otherwise this could be a battery problem and you should get in touch with a local ASP.

  • Satellite U500-120 or better battery?

    Hello

I recently bought the Toshiba Satellite U500-120, but I'm disappointed with the low battery life. I would like to know if there are better batteries their compatible with my laptop?

    Hello

I discovered that the U500-120 (not sure if all the models are equipped with the same battery) uses 3700mAh 6cell battery.
    It s a standard battery.

I think that a stronger battery could be purchased too
All ASP (partners) are usually able to order a compatible part (any part it is) of the head stock Toshiba

I think you should just contact these guys and you would get the battery needed stronger and more

I disassemble my laptop to check the connector and the power is OK of the external connector to the connector on the motherboard.

with my battery, the computer works normally (but the battery is not more)

You have an idea on how to solve this problem?
    What can I check?

    > Do you have an idea on how to fix this?
If the battery and the mains adapter are ok, while a single problem can cause this: faulty motherboard.
Maybe there is something wrong with the electronic power supply on the motherboard.

Of course this is only my personal opinion, but I put t see any other reason for that

  • Satellite U500 memory leak - 18 p

I have PSU8CE 18 p Satellite U500 with preinstalled Windows7 Home Premium x 64 with 4 GB RAM. When I start mode safe then memory not sunk. When I start it in Normal mode then nonpaged kernel memory develops up to 3011 MB (~ 4 days running).

I downloaded poolmon.exe and Crescent pool tag found: "AmlH" (ACPI AMLI Pooltags). In safe mode, this pool has 1 single allocation unit. In Normal Mode ~ every 73 seconds he returned new unit. Size of each unit is 524288 bytes.

Then I downloaded and installed "Windows Performance Toolkit" and run xperf.exe and xperfview.exe according to

    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/maartenb/archive/2010/12/07/debugging-pool-leaks-with-x-perf.aspx.

XperfView watch battery to leak memory in the

I restored windows to State factory but still present memory leak.

Memory leaks are a common error in programming.
leak memory occurs when a computer program consumes memory, but is unable to release it in the operating system.

In your case, it would be necessary to know what application or process that runs in the background do
This can be very long process you would need to install a system of fees will need to check the memory leak after each installation of driver or another application

I just bought this laptop yesterday and when I read the manual book its has said that the package includes the bag and the driver on the CD but I had none of them, only the laptop and the power cable.

When I ask the man to store, he says, it's all... no other. Where can I ask questions about it? Or is it a common thing?

    Hello

Can you please tell us what page you found this information? This does not to me you get a bag and the driver on the CD with Notepad.
Can also explain what you mean with CD driver?

I checked the manual of my Satellite U500 and it shows the following information about the material delivered in package:
    + Toshiba Satellite U500 laptop PC +.
+ Universal AC adapter power cord + and
+ Battery (is preinstalled on the computer).
+ Cleaning cloth (is included with some models).

So I didn t find any information on the things you want to say

  • The GMA 4500 can be activated on Satellite U500 - 115 (PSU5EE)?

    Hello

I own the U500-115 PSU5EE for about a week now. Today, I looked again on the Toshiba site and I noticed that the U500-115 uses the Intel GM45 Express chipset, see here: http://de.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/product/Satellite-U500-115/1070387/toshibaShop/false/

    http://www.Intel.com/CD/products/services/EMEA/DEU/chipsets/398739.htm
Intel says that this chipset has a device integrated video GMA 4500MHD.

I have not seen the GMA 4500 in the Device Manager and I have not found a possibility to active it. Everest Ultimate says there is an Intel GMA 4500MHD built in and it is disabled.

So, can be activated and used instead the 4570 to save energy while being on the battery?

If it s not active, then from a good reason. The manufacturer doesn't have to trigger specific in a chipset functions, even if the manufacturer of the chipset says it is applied.

BUT: If there is a powersaving option that switches between graphics cards, then you won´t have influence on that because this will be controlled automatically by the system and the drivers.

    Hope I could help... :)

I've recently updated the BIOS because my CPU fan did not work under Ubuntu,
But after the update, my CPU fan speed is faster then normal and make a lot of noise (even if the CPU is cool) when I use Windows 7 is still stay on fast speed making a lot of noise.

Do we sort of degrading the BIOS or thw way to earn the slow CPU fan speed?

Update BIOS because of Linux? You know that Linux is not possible on this laptop model?

In any case, to reduce the fan sped Please reduce the cooling in saving settings method.

  • Satellite U500-115 - unknown devices after the Installation of Win XP

    Hello

I just installed Windows XP on a Satellite U500 - 115 (PSU5EE) and cannot get rid of several unknown devices in Device Manager.

Before to install the operating system, I changed settings AHCI in the BIOS to Compatibility-Mode (IDE), so I don't need to inject the SATA driver during installation.

    These are the unknown devices:

    ACPI\PNP0C32\1 (location: Intel ICH9M LPC Interface Controller - 2919)

    ACPI\PNP0C32\2 (location: Intel ICH9M LPC Interface Controller - 2919)

    ACPI\PNP0C32\3 (location: Intel ICH9M LPC Interface Controller - 2919)

    ACPI\PNP0C32\4 (location: Intel ICH9M LPC Interface Controller - 2919)

    ACPI\TOS6205\2 & DABA3FF & 0 (location: System compatible ACPI Microsoft)

Of course, I installed driver chipset and graphics driver from the toshiba download page, but the unknown devices are still there! Can you please tell me what kind of driver I need to install ACPI devices - and get rid of these unknown devices?

    Thanks in advance,
    Hans

    Hello

In my opinion the unknown devices belongs to the SATA interface controller and these appear as unknown device because you have installed the XP compatible mode.

Try to install the Intel Storage Manager driver.

ACPI\TOS6205 device can be a Bluetooth device.
You must install the battery Bluetooth to get rid of unknown device.

    welcome them

  • Satellite U500 - 10L and password protection

    Greetings,

I have Windows Vista (service pack 2) installed on my laptop Toshiba Satellite U500 - 10L (PSU5EE). Recently, I encountered a serious problem; Password Admin Windows is vulnerable through the Start Menu (hit F12 when you turn on the laptop) machine, I mean anyone with a USB/CD boot can crack the password.

Now I would restrict access to the Start Menu - or remove the boot by USB/CD options in the Menu. I just installed the updated BIOS (2.5 WIN), but unfortunately the BIOS provides no options to restrict access to or to modify the Start Menu. I find it is a major breach of security, is their anyway to deal with this problem?

    I appreciate your quick response.

    Best regards, John

    Hello

If you want to protect your notebook BIOS user password set - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/FAQ9202JE0000R01.htm
After than that nobody will be able to boot up your laptop and even pass BIOS check.

This way your mobile phone will be protected.

  • Satellite U500 - no option of Synaptics with Windows 7

    Hi all

After that I did a clean install of Windows 7 Pro 32 bit on my Satellite U500, I get more options in the control panel of the Synaptics touchpad.
All I get is a preview menu and the animated demo, but nothing else (no control scroll box, no valve adjustment of the sensitivity or accidental touch function, etc.).

I used to have a bunch full of controls with preinstalled Vista.
I uninstalled, downloaded and reinstalled the driver from the Web of Synaptics site several times, without success. Is there a solution for this?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Toshiba pilot European page provides the drivers for Win 7 64 bit.
I found the driver for the touchpad Win 7 64 bit called Alps Electric v 7.5.303.117

Try this driver, even if you use 32 bit OS
